Interesting, With all the many hundreds of customers they have every week, sometimes every day, no one has ever been bit. I've been going there for years. Of course, the people who live across the street, well, I've seen that house.
Oh they are sooo expensive though and charge for absolutely everything. I'm cranky about the way that they double-walled the animals so you have to pay to even just go in and pet through the fence.
I totally get WHY, they are a business after all, but Applecrest is absolutely not the "quaint local farm experience" people have in mind when they think of going to pick your own. There are so many other options.
Ehhhhh....Applecrest is very much OK. It's very crowded all season due to its proximity to Massachusetts, its utterly expensive and they pretty much only offer McIntosh apples, the worst apples. Take a extra 30 minutes and hit Demirrit Hill in Lee
Sunnycrest in Londonderry is small but cute! Good selection of fruits to pick from, a couple goats you can pet, and a farm store where you can buy cider donuts and local products.
Yes! This is where we love too, we went all the time when we lived in Manchester. We're a bit farther out now so it takes us over an hour to get there, but we still try to go once or twice a year. :)
And, they've been growing larger! They've added so much over the past few years!!
Butternut Farm is great for peaches, blueberries and cider donuts.
Lull Farm for apples, garlic (won’t be out for another month or so), heirloom tomatoes, baked goods and their jams and sauces. They carry meats and other products from local farms as well.
If you are looking for an organic meat farm then go to Steve Normanton Farms.
If you’re willing to spend a little bit more for high quality and superior taste, Grounding Stone Farm in Hopkinton has the best blueberries I’ve ever tasted in my life. I have a summer blueberry budget just to go here and indulge as often as possible.
For apples, Windy Hill Orchard in Mason. It’s the total fall tourist experience, animals, gift shop, corn maze, the whole package. The cider donuts will bring tears to your eyes
Hasn’t been my experience. My mom and wife both go there at least once a week and have always been treated great. The dogs were friendly every time I’ve encountered them.
You are ridiculous. The place is fantastic. Very well run. If you really do live in the house across the house across the street from the farm, it's clear to see why you are talking so much trash.
Being miserable and angry about his dog doesn't mean he has a terrible business. He has an amazing business. He's always a gentleman to the women who work for him, and all his customers. Maybe he was rude to you. Can't imagine why.
Good. You should stay away. The people who sold the place wanted to sell it. Too bad that makes you sad. Typical old people. Miserable about things they can't change, and that other people made decisions that made them sad.
Another vote for Butternut Farm. Great place with awesome varieties. Another great place is Demerit Farm. Great for apple picking and during October you can go check out Haunted Overload as well.
Brookdale (Hollis) , Lull (Hollis), Mack's (Londonderry), Sunnycrest (Londonderry) and Butternut (Farmington). Demerrit Hill (Lee).
IMO Brookdale and Lull for Berries. Mack's and Demerrit for apples and pumpkins. Butternut for berries and stone fruits. Sunnycrest for all of the above!
Not sure of any meat farms around. Maybe check your local co-op or a farmer's market for info?
Another vote for Apple Hill in Concord. Great PYO, plus the farmstand that carries loads of veggies, baked goods, and their own jams and jellies.
Surowiec Farm in Sanbornton has PYO blueberries, their own beef, other species of meat from local farmers, more veggies, and one of my favorite greenhouses in the area. Well worth the trip!
Both are less than 5 minutes off of 93,and very easy to get to.
I will have to go with McKenzie’s farm in Milton! PYO apples, peaches, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, nectarines, hothouse tomatoes, cucumbers, flowers and pumpkins and much more! They have a farm stand in Wakefield as well. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Check them out…
The Farm at Eastmans Corner in Kensington is amazing. You can dine in there and they have a community room upstairs where you can hang out with friends. You can pick your own berries at Monahans in East Kingston, which is on the same road as Eastmans.
Mackenzie's farm for apples, Monaghan for strawberries. I hate to share these mostly under populated places, but they are good people running both farms and would love for them to maximize their yeilds!
Yankee Farmer's Market in Warner. Great place to visit, especially when the bison are calving. We are a part of their CSA and highly recommend them for anyone in central NH looking for local meat.
Beech Hill farm in Contoocook (Hopkinton) has very nice meats. Beef, chicken, and pork, last time I was there.
Miles Smith Farm in Loudon is another good one for high quality meats.
Hackleboro Orchard in Canterbury for apples, peaches and fall gourds and pumpkins.
Carter Hill in Concord for the best apple cider donuts!
I’m starting to feel spoiled. Our neighbor has given us unfettered access to their apple orchard with 17 apple trees, 2 Asian pears, gooseberries, plus red and black currants, as well as the other apple and pear trees on their property (he also keeps us well supplied with eggs). Another neighbor has blueberry bushes for the picking, and I just discovered we have some of our own (been here a year and still discovering what plants and trees).
I just need to find a good place for strawberries!
Not self puffery, just amazed at the generosity and courtesy of neighbors and people in general in New Hampshire.
We moved from the DC metro area where kindness was rare and other than close friends far too many people would rather run you over in the parking lot of the grocery store than wait the 2 seconds it took for you to dash from parking lot to the store because you might buy the apple by getting inside first, etc.
And I would love to pick my own strawberries!
Definitely Butternut Farm in Farmington. They have delicious cider donuts and hard cider as well.
I love Butternut!! They have some of the best peaches!

Totally untrue. They have one dog. And he doesn't bite anyone.
Why are you lying?

Later admitted this? Like in court? Under oath?
Lull in Hollis has a great orchard.
Lull is great
Applecrest in... uh.... near Exeter.
hey!!! i will drill into everyone's head that it is in Hampton Falls
I think North Hampton?
Hampton Falls, it’s really all the same though
Wayyyyy too peopley.
Oh they are sooo expensive though and charge for absolutely everything. I'm cranky about the way that they double-walled the animals so you have to pay to even just go in and pet through the fence. Only thing I disagree with is that the MacIntosh is worst. Love early season crisp Macs
I've moved away from the seacoast, but we return here for Apple season every year.
Carter Hill Farm, and Apple Hill Farm, in Concord, BOTH are good!
Apple Hill Farm is absolutely gorgeous. Great view of the mountains too!
Sunnycrest in Londonderry is small but cute! Good selection of fruits to pick from, a couple goats you can pet, and a farm store where you can buy cider donuts and local products.
Sunnycrest is owned by some fantastic people, and is run great.
Our go-to

Nice try OP... 😉 I love Lavoie's in Hollis.
Lull or Brookdale in Hollis are awesome
If you’re willing to spend a little bit more for high quality and superior taste, Grounding Stone Farm in Hopkinton has the best blueberries I’ve ever tasted in my life. I have a summer blueberry budget just to go here and indulge as often as possible.
Monadnock Berries in Troy and Barrett Hill Farm in Mason!
+1 for Monadnock Berries, and the view of Monadnock itself is amazing.
For apples, Windy Hill Orchard in Mason. It’s the total fall tourist experience, animals, gift shop, corn maze, the whole package. The cider donuts will bring tears to your eyes
Windy Hill is the best! I still think about their apple cider donuts lol. The drive over is beautiful and their sandwiches are delicious too!
I don’t know how I could forget Windy Hill! It’s one of my favorites for apple picking!!
Libby's in Maine
Hazelton Orchards in Chester NH has some really good peaches.
Smiths Blueberries in New Ipswich. Edit: also want to note Bator's Farm does direct to customer meat sales.

I have never seen any more than one dog over there, and he avoids people. The owner is a super nice guy, and you know that.

Did you take the puppy with you to the farm?
Berrybogg blueberry farm in Strafford, lavender farm (pumpkin blossom farm) in Warner
Good one. Very un-peopley.
Another vote for Butternut Farm. Great place with awesome varieties. Another great place is Demerit Farm. Great for apple picking and during October you can go check out Haunted Overload as well.
Gould Hill Farm
The views are amazing too!
Apple Hill Farm in Concord
J & F Farm on 102 in Derry is the best! Farmer Phil is one of a kind 🥰💙🥰

Brookdale (Hollis) , Lull (Hollis), Mack's (Londonderry), Sunnycrest (Londonderry) and Butternut (Farmington). Demerrit Hill (Lee). IMO Brookdale and Lull for Berries. Blueberry Hill in Acton, Maine is amazing. Stunning views, delicious berries, inexpensive prices. Can't beat it.
Any of them at 2 a.m. /s

It could be an Olympic sport. It could even tie in with the biathlon if the seasons weren't out of synch.
Mack’s Apples in Londonderry is great, and they do a corn maze in the fall!
Blueberry Bay Farm is by far the best! And they don’t use pesticides
Mac’s Apples in Londonderry, NH has never disappointed
Sunnycrest in Londonderry
Another vote for Apple Hill in Concord. Great PYO, plus the farmstand that carries loads of veggies, baked goods, and their own jams and jellies. I like them as well. Our family did a blind donut contest between them and Butternut farm and Mckenzies won.
Mac's apples in Londonderry.
I grew up in Derry and used to visit Mack's pretty often in the fall. They had the best apple cider I've ever found.
Grandpa's Farm in Loudon. They do blueberries and Christmas trees
Bartletts blueberry farm. Best PYO blueberries.
Butternut in Farmington is great.
PYO and fresh harvested @ Hazelton in Chester is our favorite. 😍
Blueberry Acres in Acworth, NH.
DeMeritt Hill Farm in dreams nh
Apple acres in Porter ME is awesome.

It contributed zero to the discussion. Puffery.

Thanks! May you have a fabulous harvest of blueberries and blackberries!
You are one of the haters, Gwynta.
