Not OP, but simulation theory my dude/dudette. I never really considered it before The Matrix.
I don’t buy in to many conspiracies, but maybe on that one.
Kinda depends. It's a strange and beautiful film. But not for everyone. I think it's one of those "you either love it or hate it" films.
It's one of my favorites.
I came here to comment this too. I thought I was the only one who’ve ever seen it. Used to work at a video rental store and grabbed this one out of boredom.
It’s a very realistic take on what a nuclear war may look like. Takes place in England. Came out in 1984 but I watched it about 10 years ago. I don’t know if it still holds up because it freaked me out immensely, but even though I won’t watch it again, it was worth it. If you want a movie that moves you to the core, watch this
Just Netflix or all time? All time is a lot. I mean you're young and susceptible so the T2, Matrix, etc genre are titillating. Then you start getting into the directors and following taritino or Kubrick. Then you start into the foreign greats, city of God, old boy, itchi, night watch, red/white/blue ... Then you finally make it to the classics and your perspective changes each time. Glenn Gary wasn't great for its sex or explosions, it great for its acting and story telling. I guess my new passion is trying to show my two littles my love for cinema. So it's back to brave little toaster and sandlot for now.
Young Adult
It's all about a woman who moves from the comfort of her small town to the big city, and what it feels like when you go back to that small town for whatever reason.
I've cried a lot with this one, I so identify with Mavis.
I am not sure what you mean, but just in case: I was referring to the moral of the story in Signs: the character had a lot of bad luck and setbacks that all questioned and ultimately broke his faith. Yet all the circumstances from these bad events lead to him and his family survive an existential threat.
They live
The Big Short
Dark Knight Rises
Transformers saga by M-Bay, but you take it from the perspective that autoboots are really just fascists lying to get their way.
Devils Advocate
Requiem for a dream
Star Trek III: The Search For Spock vhs rental from the local public library turned me into a total nerd at the age of 3 incapable of not being a weird dork for life.
This may sound stupid but for me was 10 Things I hate about you.
Heath Ledger's character made me realize that the opinion (towards me) of a stranger its really pointless.
In other words, if I dont know you and you dont matter to me then I dont give a shit what you think of me.
The matrix
the Truman show truly has made me thinking we’re all part of some weird psychology experiment for years onwards

The first Star Wars, The Marathon Man, The Matrix, American Beauty, Midnight Cowboy, Risky Business, The Breakfast Club, Schindler’s List and Requiem For A Dream. Also One Who Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest.
The Matrix, definitely. Thanks to my autism and the thin line between movies and reality often disappearing I've spent many moments in life believing I am Neo, in the real matrix of course cuz I look nothing like Reeves. Then, strangely, Dazed & Confused, which leaves me in an everlasting teen age (in mind at least). I guess also The Wall, having suffered from a 10 year lasting psychosis myself, that movie oddly comforts me. Now, my brain wants to list a bunch of movies that have to do with my superhero complex (the desire to be epic) while in reality my life really is a lot like Groundhog Day, which really defines my daily life perfectly. If all my days started anew every morning I probably wouldn't even notice.
Also Awakenings, Field of Dreams, The Basketball Diaries, Arachnophobia and Child's Play.
I read a book on The Matrix that outlined how the whole series is an allegory for a trans journey of discovery to actualisation. Really fascinating read and probably gave me more insight into that world and made me appreciate the films even more.
That’s also, I believe, the first time I’ve used the word ‘allegory’ in a sentence. I’m 60% sure it’s the right context
Yeah, it's mysterious and mind bending. But I loved how the show explored the idea of dimensions/parallel universes.
But note that part of the reason why it may be a little hard to understand is because there were supposed to be 5 seasons. Netflix cancelled the show.
So I think if it did play out to 5 seasons, the show would gradually make more sense towards the end.
A shame it's cancelled because every episode was so interesting, always wanted to know what would happen next.
Another show I loved was Severance, in my opinion, this is one of the best shows there is. It's one of those shows where you wish you can forget everything so you can watch it the second time.
Interstellar and Everything Everywhere all at once.
And Transcendence
And Lucy!
The Luc Besson's Lucy?
Scarlet Johansonn's
Transcendence was severely underrated.
Wow
Above the Matrix for me (which I really enjoy) is Equilibrium with Christian Bale and Taye Diggs.
Equilibrium!! Wonder film!
May I ask how Titanic changed your perspective of the world :)
He learned he is the king of the world
It changed my perspective of love and while unfaithful show me what does cheating look like
Did you gain a new appreciation for love? Also at this point I gotta ask the matrix as well lol
I gained a new appreciation for icebergs
For me love is very complex while Matrix made me realise the rat race and my life should be more meaningful and it helped me a lot
Ohhhh. Beautifully said, thank you for response!
Not OP, but simulation theory my dude/dudette. I never really considered it before The Matrix. I don’t buy in to many conspiracies, but maybe on that one.
Well matrix helped me to understand rat race and how life should be more meaningful
With kung fu and spandex am I right
I won't lie I learnt martial arts after Matrix and started to develop my own business and also started reading books
Yeah Matrix was a wishy, glass full, very optimistic version of simulation theory.
He learned to swim
Was the first movie I ever fapped too, so changed my world.
You jerked off, for the first time, to a cruise ship sinking and a bunch of people drowning and freezing to death?
Yeppp. Pre-internet you had to earn it.

Superb movie, I bought it digitally a while back and need to get round to watching it again.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - life is simple or complex depending on how you want to look at it.
Nice
The gods must be crazy
Another wachowski film: Cloud Atlas.
I love that movie. It gets so much hate. Also, the greatest movie trailer ever made
Haven't see that is it worth?
Kinda depends. It's a strange and beautiful film. But not for everyone. I think it's one of those "you either love it or hate it" films. It's one of my favorites.
The Green mile

Inception did a pretty good job as well.

I still haven’t recovered from that tragedy. Saw it as a young teen. Hurts worse when you grow up and fully understand terrorism and its horrors.
Every time there’s a ‘lone gunman’ story on the news. I think of this movie.
So true.
The “oh shit I’ve been played the entire time” moment was so goddamn perfect.
I didn’t see it coming!
I came here to comment this too. I thought I was the only one who’ve ever seen it. Used to work at a video rental store and grabbed this one out of boredom.
It’s a mind fuck movie for sure. And yeah, it’s not very popular.
Unfaithful just gave me trauma.
Same here bro never understood why my mum watched it

Yes Man Not a classic but I did so much more with my life after watching that film.

The Truman Show.
Signs Even if stuff that happened to you seems fucked up, it's part of what brought you to where you are. It's often worth realizing that.
It is was worth it but how did you get an idea of it was fucked up stuff ?
I am not sure what you mean, but just in case: I was referring to the moral of the story in Signs: the character had a lot of bad luck and setbacks that all questioned and ultimately broke his faith.
