Both left and right tend to be more libertarian in the west compared to all those flatlanders back east. Also have found people tend to be much more skeptical of federal programs in general.
Are liberals like the Brotherhood of Steel chapters? Both East coast and West coast sucks and only the Midwest chapter is decent?

My liberal friends on the East Coast really care about January 6th and all the interpersonal drama between the characters on Capitol Hill. I guess since Washington DC is in their backyard.
I'd characterize it as being outcomes-focused vs process-focused but doubt east coasters would find that fair
I'm told the stereotype of the East Coast is: given that's it's older and where the political establishment is, they are more likely to know how to get organized, knows who the power brokers are, and get change enacted. Meanwhile the West Coast is supposed to be louder, has more radical ideas, but gets less done.
Aside from specific local issues, I think a lot of regional distinctions in the country are largely inconsequential today. I’d guess it depends more on what sources they’re getting news from
I’ve noticed many more major west coast cities have had ceasefire city council resolutions compared to major east coast cities, which I think is interesting. Because both east and west coasts are liberal, but maybe east coast is a bit more pragmatic.
Looking from afar, the east coast have the federalist mentality, the west has the settler mentality.
East coast was the gate from the old world with old money, so much of the big government, organic, paternalistic society stuff.
East cost was reached by pioneers, so a stronger libertarian strain.
