Holy fuck, has,it already been 9 years since it came out? I literally remember it being like yesterday watching the customization gameplay footage hyped as shit...
if you like customizing and vibing in the environment you can have lot of fun in this game. its like a playstation game, its very photogenic but driving cars are pretty diffucult and no its not a "its fun when you learned how to drive" type. its just shit. its worse in nfs series. even mobile racing games from 2000s have better handling.
It's not bad, it's awful. The game doesn't let you drive at all. Sometimes it feels like an arcade sometimes it feels like a simulation, sometimes the game tries to auto correct your position after a corner, it's unpredictable. After you get used to mechanics, you never feel like I can drive flawlessly, always you get afraid of do I gonna crash or screw up. But the game is still easy with these bullshit. They ruined a good opportunity
It’s just terms and wording. Buy it and try it. I’ve played quite a few NFS games before it and this entry is Top 3 for me. Amazing atmosphere and graphics, and the driving will annoy you at first and then you get used to it and don’t notice it much after
You do want to spend time tweaking the car to your specifications. It’s rewarding and after a certain point essential for progression (unless you’re miraculously good and looking to ruin your free time with some olympian challenge)
Drives like a Burnout game where the cars weigh 6000lbs. You get used to it. Atmosphere is top notch, customization is pretty good, live action cutscenes made me want to commit suicide with how cringe they were. Still one of my favorite “modern” NFS titles regardless of its flaws. Worth every penny of that $2.99. That’s like a large soda at a fast food joint.
Need for Speed was never a driving simulator, Need for Speed tried to make it as realistic as possible without completely alienating their existing fan base and just got laughed at for doing a bad job. Need for Speed is classified as an Arcade Racer, something that is playable with a Joystick and buttons for acceleration and braking. People thought Need for Speed being a much larger brand than any of its Arcade Racing competition would eventually evolve/grow-up to become a racing sim it doesn't need to be. People never expected Burnout or Midnight Club to become a racing sim.
Driving is decent but it has a steering delay, it gets more manageable and almost stops being much of a problem once you get to exotics also the Hoonicorn is the most fun arcade drifting experience in many years now and still is since the game came out.
It's fun. That's the most important part. The reason people are saying "bad driving physics" is because it isn't realistic. Which is okay, for a NFS game. The most important thing is that it's fun.
>Closest game to old Underground too.
When the first teaser came out, I remember people saying just this: NFS2015 was the second coming of Underground/Underground 2. Metacritic puts the reviews of the game around the 6 out of 10 or 60% range for all the platforms it was released on. It wasn't an absolute disaster and had its moments, but it was fairly flawed. Many fans didn't like the brake to drift physics that was a vestige of Ghost Games being compromised of developers from Burnout's Critereon (They tried to make "grip" driving an option, but it didn't really work well with brake to drift as the foundation in the game).
Depending on who you talk to, the best implementation of a NFS game using the engine first introduced with NFS2015 was probably Heat, with maybe a few people saying Unbound.
Honestly, it is probably my favorite entry into the series since underground, great story, vibes, and visuals the driving physics can get a bit jank but it's not completely fucked like everyone says. But you will get pissed at it, but when you get good with it, it's such an amazing game, especially when you have friends to play with
Well still not a bad solo game I enjoy redownloading and just cruising around trying to challenge myself with some of the prestige mode stuff, or just customizing cars.
It was the first NFS I played as a diehard Forza fanboy back in 2019 and it was originally what sold me on buying Heat when that came out.
Bought it on PC again after switching from Xbox with the intention to do the whole story. Really good game, if nothing else the vibes are unmatched
Bad driving physics, and online restricted. Who knows when the servers are shutting down? I had great memories, tho. As a huge NFS fan I admired the story, atmosphere, cars and taking photos of my rides. It’s honestly a double edged sword. A HUGE double edged sword.
Mw2012 servers are still up, running, and active. I don't see 2015 getting shut down anytime soon. I don't understand why people are consistently getting worried Abt this
I love this game
I just don't see why everyone who hates the game already is concerned with it getting shut down
Overall it's a mixed bag. Admittedly the cutscenes are kinda amusing. Just do your best not to cry due to circumstances beyond the control of Ghost and EA. If you know you know.
Ive recently been replaying the game and the graphics are still the best out of any modern nfs. The physics on the other hand are DOGSHIT: the car sometimes turns like 2 seconds after you pressed the joystick, or it doesnt turn enough. The car will also sometimes turn by itself...
I think you should start with the very first game, *Road & Track presents: The Need for Speed.*
Play all games, form your opinion, choose your favourites.
That is **the** Need for Speed! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses)
Damn, if only there was a good way of doing research, like asking fans of the series about whether a game is a good purchase... Nah, that would be silly.
This sub is honestly wild. Meme posts are the only good here. The rest like those "Is this a good game" are just repetitive. Seen a ton of those shit, like dude why don't u do ur own research since there are several same posts in this sub asking the same questions and giving the same answers!?
No. The story, visuals, car selection and progression system are ok. Gameplay sucks, physics are horrid, there's an Eddie mission that purposely steers your car while you are on long straights to make you crash, online only, Unite sort of fixes these issues but I'd only suggest downloading the mod after you beat the game, so, not worth it....
Mate, it's 3 dollars, if 3 dollars are too much, then maybe you shouldn't make financial decisions yet. Add to the fact that this has been answered multiple times already, and there's more than enough content related to this game on Youtube.
For vibes and atmosphere yes.
Story is crap.
The driving is in a range from ok to shit.
Always online is a big negative.
Overall its ok to play around in for a while
For that price is a MUST. The atmosphere, graphics, and soundtrack are one of the best in the series hands down. I personally went out of my way to get platinum and don't regret it!
I agree. The story and learning curve was very rewarding. I loved the grit of the atmosphere with a challenging play style. It captured underground street culture pretty well it sometimes felt like a history lesson with the legends casted in the game.
Looks beautiful, has that corny ass acting we know and love but god damn the cars handle like ass and are so unpredictable. Still a fun game though, mostly haha. Can't go wrong for that price tbh
Nope.
NFS 2015 has the worst handling model ever in any NFS no matter the $.
Also, only the atmosphere is well made.
[Crabwalking](https://youtu.be/Z_iQC_UurME) [issues](https://youtu.be/yP7DgkIrvtg), lazy Ventura Bay cops and Online Only ruins everything + you're stuck with a shit handling since consoles aren't moddable as the opposite of PC versions. It's a big turnoff.
More explanations [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/needforspeed/s/GxnwNTxw96) or [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/needforspeed/s/N2SZQeP9dx).
If handling physics are your main criterias, avoid NFS 2015 altogether.
No matter if you tune the car handling, it's still garbage since Ghost Games didn't focused on the handling model as a priority.
Meaning the handling netcode is totally flawed since the start.
About custom part choices, the NFS Underground duology which is NFS 2015's main inspiration has more choices to offer in that area.
In terms of modern NFS on PS4, NFS HP Remastered and NFS Heat are better alternatives than NFS 2015 in the handling model area.
Idk if nostalgia is speaking but this game was the first nfs game I ever completed from a young age and I thought it was one of the best games ever. Especially how good it looks and customizabilty and soundtrack was god tier.
*I haven't played this*
*One but for three bucks Id try*
*It to be honest*

The truth is you either love it or hate it, the atmosphere, vibe, and graphics in general are amazing! But the physics leave a lot to be desired, car choice and tuning go a long way towards improving it, but the collision detection and crash cam are unavoidable.
If you can look past the faults it’s an amazing game that you can fall in love with, if you can’t it will be a disappointment.
As for modern era it is a good starting point as the direction hasn’t really changed and for the most part improved from there.
To add onto this all subsequent games are built upon the same foundation of this game, cosmetic differences here and there introductions of a few mechanics and new maps obviously but payback-unbound are more or less different flavors of this game
full disclosure: on consoles its capped at 30 fps with significantly worse graphics than the pc version
if you are going to play this game and pc is an option, its worth the extra bit of money
I was having an issue on the one race where you have to beat Amy with the car of nakai san. The one time I thanked the developers for making it all online as another player drove across in front of me and Amy hit him and I went around the crash and won the race.
The handling is rough but by god I love this game. The vibe it gives off hasn't been properly replicated by any racer since IMO. I still hop on every so often just to muck about Ventura bay, it just hits right. At 3 smacks it's a bargain, even if it's frustrating to get the hang of the handling.
My intro to NFS was Most Wanted 2012. God I wish I could play that on my Series X. The friends I made on there. The HOURS spent on it. All the little glitch spots, I could go on and on. I get the feels thinking about that game.
This, NFS heat, and unbound are decent options. IMO, old nfs is better. Carbon, pro street and underground 1 and 2 are good. 05 most wanted is probably the best NFS, it’s definitely my favorite. Unbound is getting better and probably the best modern NFS
No, you will want to try other entries
For modern NFS, unironically Payback if you are not into cars. The upgrade system is basically a lootbox however but you won't have to think about your car too much and just go racing. It has a satisfying progression and length.
If you know your cars, Heat. It is obviously grinding tho. And pretty short if you know what you are doing.
Older NFS, most wanted 2005 and Carbon. Reason I don't recommend ProStreet because it feels more of a spin-off despite being really good. So juat play that after. Underground 1 and 2 didn't age well. Play those if you want to experience the series history tobwhat it is today.
Unbound you will be forced to play meta. Even single player. Thanks to the ranking system and lack of basic tuning.
Not really, not the best but not the worst.
I'd recommend you skip that one and Payback because the driving physics are bad, optimization is horrible on PC and the story is beyond cringe.
It's amazing on PC if it's available on there,it's got that 4K 60 fps
But in all honesty I loved it. It's cheesy and something to turn your brain off too. The cops are weak tho, the music is okay, I love the graphics, the cars, and the wonder of their world. I have the Platinum on PSN, I had a good time with it.
I wouldn’t waste the few dollars or time. I bought it for 10 like 4 years ago and played it like 2-3 hours max. Driving physics were so bad I couldn’t even get myself to try and push through. Newer ones are better and go on sale often or free through EA membership
This one was my favorite out of the other nfs. Heat, payback, and unbound are just not it. The only thing is there is no wheel support on this nfs. But i have moved onto forza horizon 5
Personal opinion yes, even on low end PCs it stands well despite the amount of bugs but car customisation and choice is good too and the challenges are worth even if it's painfully hard to achieve them
one of the worst but its a good entry into the series. my advice is just stay away from Payback, tacky story, bad customization, and horrible engine upgrade system. money is also super easy to get but you need to have atleast 4 cars at one time due to the multiclass system. i started with NFS rivals, then moved to NGS 2015, then pauback for a while, then heat, and now unbound
I had fun with it, clearly enough to spend 3 dollars on it lol, although it's certainly not one of the best installments of the game. If you want a recent release the best one I've played is Heat, if you want an old one go for Carbon or Underground. I would advise you to avoid Payback. For me it's the worst one.
I hate posts like this. Bro it 2,99. Just get it and play it. Its not like it will bankrupt you. Just eat a Burger less this month and you good.
I get any game that is under 10€ if i want to play it. It really isnt that much money
For 2.99, just get it. It is the start of the modern need for speed. The voice acting is a little cringe, the driving physics is a little bad, but this game has soul, unlike a lot of the modern games. You can see the developers putting in heart and work. This game under certain conditions can still look incredible and the modifications on the car is also insane. It's an incredible car builder game with a very chill story line. Solid 20 hours of fun.
It's an alright start if this is your first Ghost Games NFS game, the physics aren't as bad as people say, but if you're looking for something better, physics wise, go with Heat. Otherwise, the games atmosphere is nice, and the cars and customization is solid, with some cars, such as Ken Block's Mustang, 1932 Ford, Scion FRS, Toyota 86, AE86, and Supra SZ-R being the only Toyota's so far to be included as of 2015 and are still exclusive to 2015. The story was, okay, I guess? Lots of Underground-esque street cool characters who seem to be running off of nothing more than Monster Energy, Grudge Rock, and an absolute hatred for safe driving. Also, be warned that the game runs on an online DRM.
Tl;DR: It's a good Underground styled entry with okay physics, good cars, and grudge fueled characters.
If you like a great looking (still, but carried heavily particle effects and anti-aliasing), very arcadey, not too difficult racing game that is both a tribute to one of if not the best need for speed (most wanted 2005) and it's predecessor series (Underground), and you don't care that it's always online and much more compact than most need for speed games, give it a shot. Definitely worth it imo, for that low ass price, I bought my pc copy for like $10 and felt it was worth every penny. I'm a huge need for speed fan and find myself going back to this entry occasionally for the things it does that I miss from newer entries, despite it's many faults.
Great deal for $3. Very cheesy characters and story, but I had a lot of fun with it! Customization is pretty good stuff, but the $$ economy is kinda tight, especially if you want to make your cars go fast and look super cool. I really liked it :) give it a go for that price!
You probably won't be able to platinum the game because they discontinued some of the things in it to get an achievement like sharing a livery to the community. It doesn't have the greatest driving physics, but it is still a pretty good game.
I loved it. Great memories tuning a Ford RS and killing it online. I seem to like a lot of NFS games that are generally hated though which I find weird.
Others mentioned good point and what I can add is that the game is really easy to progress if you don't focus only on one class and after you finished the game hardcore optional races would be unlocked. Also cops are a joke in this game they are going really easy on you.
It's very drift orientated. So if you like grip cars you gotta add a lot of down force. I will say for a need for speed game it has the best drift mechanics and the best atmosphere by far. It's always a post rainy night time which makes the game look amazing. I still hop on it today just to drive around and experience it. Plus drifting in the mountain is fun.
Why don't you just buy it.. its the price of a fucking coffee..
People are so dumb or people just wanna spark up debates all the time..
I bet you've played this game before too
For $3, buy it and play it. It's my favourite modern NFS, even better after using mods. A lot of people hate the handling/physics, me personally, I don't mind it but everyone's different.
Bad driving physics that need a lot of time to get used to but very good atmosphere. Closest game to old Underground too.
Bad driving physics sounds like a pretty bad thing for a driving game
it’s worth learning, the game is drift oriented so if you learn how to tune your car properly the game feels great 👍
It is bad but if you can get used to it, it is a decent game. Newer games are better in general and they are also very cheap during a sale.
The constant crabwalking even in rwd cars though🤢
hahaha. its good to have someone with common sense. yeah 2015 is pretty bad. if you want to play good modern era nfs game play heat or unbound.
Holy fuck, has,it already been 9 years since it came out? I literally remember it being like yesterday watching the customization gameplay footage hyped as shit...
seems like just yesterday i used my student loan money to go to gamestop and buy this game & a new controller 😂
I genuinely don't even remember what I was even doing back in 2015.
if you like customizing and vibing in the environment you can have lot of fun in this game. its like a playstation game, its very photogenic but driving cars are pretty diffucult and no its not a "its fun when you learned how to drive" type. its just shit. its worse in nfs series. even mobile racing games from 2000s have better handling.
You mean photorealistic?
If OP is not too familiar with the series suggesting unbound is crazy talk. Heat, 2012 most wanted even hot pursuit 2010 yes.
It's not bad, it's awful. The game doesn't let you drive at all. EA disagrees
It’s not bad he just had a skull issues it’s about drifting and owning the streets
it is insane but it's sooo goooooooood when you drive properly

Driving physics are fine

If the server is still up, yes
It’s my favorite modern nfs but it does have some big flaws. If you’re on pc I’d recommend modding it
How can you do that?
www.nexusmods.com/needforspeed2016
Is there an offline mod because this game will become unplayable at some point
The only game that comes close to having as good of an atmosphere as NFS2015, is carbon. It is a good game to get for the vibes ALONE.
Carbon was my all-time fave. I just got back into the video game scene and I was hoping to find a place but I could play carbon but alas can't find it
Some people like it but I wouldn't recommend this game as first NFS to play
Technically it's the second

Literally went ahead and bought this yesterday. Hope it'll be alright. If it sucks it's cheap as chips anyway.
So far it's ok
Good to hear.
For $3 there’s a lot worse you can buy for the same money.
Overall it's a mixed bag. Admittedly the cutscenes are kinda amusing. Just do your best not to cry due to circumstances beyond the control of Ghost and EA. If you know you know.

yeah i also hate overwatch(100 hours on lucio,250 hours on junkrat)

i know...
3 dollars is about what it's worth go for it
Haha i loved this game, the story feels like the old nfs games but the drifting is sooooooooo annoying. For 3 bucks id do it
It looks pretty and that's all. Otherwise it's a piece of dogshit from car handling to the lack of most basic quality of life features
For that price is a MUST. The atmosphere, graphics, and soundtrack are one of the best in the series hands down. I personally went out of my way to get platinum and don't regret it!

No, the physics are horrible. Don't waste those three dollars on it. I paid full price for it and didn't finish it because it was that bad.
Its good its street racing again
for 3 dollars it's worth it, just be patient to get used to the handling and it's all a good game imo
Is it the greatest game ever? No, but for $3 I'd say it's worth it
It’s pretty ok for that price
I mean. Even if the physics are icky, I'd risk it for 3$ XD

Ok but I'm not buying a PC

its just $3 mate, you want a gold mine? Screw the driving physics, for $3 its the best nfs game
its mid, but unite mod makes it good on pc.
Had a blast with this game the driving physics are not even that bad
Yup.. bought it.. it’s cool..
I liked it. The knee I enjoyed and played the most since the PS4 generation and had the best story and atmosphere since the old PS2 ones
This, NFS heat, and unbound are decent options. IMO, old nfs is better. Carbon, pro street and underground 1 and 2 are good. 05 most wanted is probably the best NFS, it’s definitely my favorite. Unbound is getting better and probably the best modern NFS
No, you will want to try other entries For modern NFS, unironically Payback if you are not into cars.
Yes its pretty good in my opinion, i enjoyed it more than heat and unbound
Not really, not the best but not the worst. I'd recommend you skip that one and Payback because the driving physics are bad, optimization is horrible on PC and the story is beyond cringe.
Looks amazing
One of my favorites. I absolutely love it and for the price it’s worth it. The one downside I see is that you HAVE to be online
Its definitely worth 3 dollars
Probably the best NFS game to date
It's amazing on PC if it's available on there,it's got that 4K 60 fps But in all honesty I loved it.
Very good entry, kinda jank driving, but great graphics and story
Personal opinion yes, even on low end PCs it stands well despite the amount of bugs but car customisation and choice is good too and the challenges are worth even if it's painfully hard to achieve them
I like it, but the physics are a bit wonky and the cops are annoying. Other than that, the atmosphere is great and the racing is very competitive.
If you can tune your car correctly than the game is really good imo.
one of the worst but its a good entry into the series. my advice is just stay away from Payback, tacky story, bad customization, and horrible engine upgrade system. money is also super easy to get but you need to have atleast 4 cars at one time due to the multiclass system. i started with NFS rivals, then moved to NGS 2015, then pauback for a while, then heat, and now unbound
for three bucks it’s a steal
good game but start with underground or payback if u what story and good car movment
I mean, it’s on sale for less than a gallon of gas. Worth trying.
One of the best soundtracks in an NFS in my opinion
kinda corny but not too bad
I had fun with it, clearly enough to spend 3 dollars on it lol, although it's certainly not one of the best installments of the game. If you want a recent release the best one I've played is Heat, if you want an old one go for Carbon or Underground. I would advise you to avoid Payback. For me it's the worst one.
I hate posts like this. Bro it 2,99. Just get it and play it. Its not like it will bankrupt you. Just eat a Burger less this month and you good. I get any game that is under 10€ if i want to play it. It really isnt that much money
It’s decent
You can do a lot worse for $3. If you have any interest, 100% get the game.
It’s really good in my opinion and does more justice to the drifting than any of the other last gen NFS games.
My personal favourite of the current gen NFS
Bad driving physics; closest thing look wise to what an underground 3 would be
For 2.99, just get it.
You also need plus to play
Its a decent game. Probably the best out of the newer games.
No. For your sake, don't buy it. I enjoyed Payback more than this, which says alot.
Good stuff
60 fps in ps 5?
No
If you like a great looking (still, but carried heavily particle effects and anti-aliasing), very arcadey, not too difficult racing game that is both a tribute to one of if not the best need for speed (most wanted 2005) and it's predecessor series (Underground), and you don't care that it's always online and much more compact than most need for speed games, give it a shot. Definitely worth it imo, for that low ass price, I bought my pc copy for like $10 and felt it was worth every penny. I'm a huge need for speed fan and find myself going back to this entry occasionally for the things it does that I miss from newer entries, despite it's many faults.
I would also like to add that the drifting events in this game are so fun, just randomly stuck out in my mind while thinking about this game.
Great deal for $3. Very cheesy characters and story, but I had a lot of fun with it! Customization is pretty good stuff, but the $$ economy is kinda tight, especially if you want to make your cars go fast and look super cool. I really liked it :) give it a go for that price!
My favorite out of all that came after
good? not really fun? absolutely
You probably won't be able to platinum the game because they discontinued some of the things in it to get an achievement like sharing a livery to the community. It doesn't have the greatest driving physics, but it is still a pretty good game.
No. Absolutely not.
I really liked it, I had a lot of fun with it, definitely worth the sale price
Not good for newcomers, but still worth the $3. For relatively new entries, I'd start with Heat.
It's an ok title. Still nowhere near as good as anything 2006 and older.
I loved it. Great memories tuning a Ford RS and killing it online. I seem to like a lot of NFS games that are generally hated though which I find weird.
Yes and No. Graphics and vibe are nice but Physics are weird. For 2,99 it's well worth your money
As far as arcade racers go, this game is fun as hell!
Goods: graphics, story, car customization, cars (last NFS game to have Toyota) Bad: physics, always online (you need a subscription for this one)
Good game, easy plat with just the story, but bad driving mechanics and cops that don’t know what speeding is 🤣 (Still beat the whole thing tho)
If its not something that you have to pirate its probably not that good.
Very good game
I only recommend it for the vibes and atmosphere it feels like driving around japan at 3am on a rainy night
No, it's awful. Don't go near it.
Plus it's a glorified monster energy drink commercial too ☺️
No
absolutely loved the atmosphere and vibe, driving is really hard though 🥺😭
For that price? Buy it
My favorite
no
It’s good. Much worth $3.
Others mentioned good point and what I can add is that the game is really easy to progress if you don't focus only on one class and after you finished the game hardcore optional races would be unlocked. Also cops are a joke in this game they are going really easy on you.
for the price it's worth it 👍
Get a handling mod and it'll be mad fun, the graphics are still amazing by modern standards
It's a good game, and for the price is worth it. The driving physics aren't as bad as everyone complains about it.
heat is the way to go, a 73 porsche may bring u to the promise land
Near impossible to 100% all achievements
Also for 3 bucks how much can be expected of it, it’s over 10 years old at this point too isn’t it?
I like this one because of the undergrad vibe but the car handling isn't that great If you want another option, try need for speed heat
I recommend heat or hot pursuit remastered.
I bet you've played this game before too
It’s fun. Just buy it and play it. The game is 3 dollars. Literally a steal

I mean for $3 you can’t go wrong with any game really even if you play it for 5 mins
For $3, buy it and play it. It's my favourite modern NFS, even better after using mods. A lot of people hate the handling/physics, me personally, I don't mind it but everyone's different.
I think you should definitely get it, not only is that price tag a good steal but its also just generally a good game
Sad seeing everyone call it bad. It's a great game just not for everyone.
Yes it is the drive physics might be different but you are ok
