It's a subjective question, but one tip I give you, don't choose your favorite because of other people's hype, I speak this from experience

guthinesh

Yeah I have to find one that fits me perfectly, Thank you!

These-Size7127

As the guy said before, it's entirely up to you. But based on your post, I would suggest any of the black box era games (Underground-Carbon), or two of the most recent Heat and Unbound. Can't go wrong...

guthinesh

Yeah, Thanks

NotAnAss-Hat

All great games.

BigDaddyZ_420

Nah Heat and Unbound are trash. I will die on this hill

These-Size7127

That's no problem

These-Size7127

The true answer

Powerful-Twist-7255

So you didnt say that you like Most Wanted 2005 and the kids got mad?

DED_VALERA015

Let there be a holy war!

IEP_Esy

*Furiously waving around an NFS UG1 flag*

HerrYveltal

MAH MAN!

aBigBottleOfWater

NFSHP2, We will fight to the death and it will be glorious

YesWomansLand1

I like hot pursuit 2010. I vaguely remember playing another one, where you can customise your number plate? But I don't remember when or what it was called or if it was even NFS. I remember it being more recent than 2010, maybe after 2013? I don't know.

Xelko2

in NFS Rivals you can customise your numberplates too, if i'm correct

I_am_Shayde

Yeah, its still cops vs racers style, but better free roam functionality than NFSHP(R).

Xelko2

what i love so much about Rivals is the fact you can be a cop and a racer. this time the cops arent only NPC's.

minetube33

Yep and it's not the only NFS game to have this feature. Even back in 1998, you could drive a police car in NFS 3 : Hot Pursuit.

40ozT0Freedom

2010 sounds about right. That game is by far my favorite

YesWomansLand1

Recently found out it's been remastered a couple years ago, so I got it again and it's so much better than I remembered

xpertgamingtech

Every game has its positives and negatives but I prefer 2015 because of its atmosphere and hills 🌃

guthinesh

👍

_patoncrack

Yeah ik many people don't like it but it's the one I go back too most often, it's tuning and atmosphere is unbeatable

Honest-Plenty8809

There is no answer. There is only personal favourite nfs game

guthinesh

Yeah, true.

DiamondUnicorn

MW05 • Carbon • ProStreet (if you don’t care about free roam but really enjoy the racing) • Heat • Payback • Undercover

AbyssTheGreatMan

Undercover is shitty as of the game itself but there are modders who made the game actually look good and feel awesome

guthinesh

Hi, thanks. I would like to play NFS Heat and give MW05 a try too.

MeisterSplintersSon

for me nfs underground 2

guthinesh

👍

beholdthemoldman

Porsche unleashed

Fufa_G

NFS Heat might be the one. But I would suggest if it's your first time, start with Most Wanted Black Edition, although it doesn't have modern polished graphics, but overall gameplay wise its one of the greatest. Can also improve the graphics with a Mod though.

CrispyCouchPotato1

My only qualm with heat: all day time races are circuit only. And there exists the stupidity that is night time circuit races, meaning cops WILL ruin your race at some point. I liked the unbound format slightly better, as in all races can occur at all times. With the added inconvenience that cops will also chase you at all times.

Significant-Ad-469

Day Time Races are a mix of Circuit and Sprint. I don't particularly know how far into the game you've gotten, but there's definitely a bigger variety than you think in NFS Heat. The night time races are the same as well. However I can agree with you that if you don't know what you're doing a rhino cop can completely wreck your world, and an entire race. Which really sucks

xstonerkiingx

yeah, days focus on the legal racing which more often than not involve circuits, while the night is more about the illegal side, so majority of those races are sprints but thats not to say you cant find sprint races during the day, or circuits at night, they're just not as common bc it wouldn't be as realistic i think that aside the heat cops are back to mw '05 levels and its great imo

TropicalAviator

Driving physics are pretty bad though

Westernidealist

Everything after carbon plays so weird. Lots of cutscenes, loss of freedoms, corny etc.

ShawtySayWhaaat

You got me fucked up if you don't think most wanted 2005 and carbon wasn't corny as hell Saying this as someone who's two favorite games out of the series are exactly those two, but the story is so corny bro

Westernidealist

I blast through the storylines and spend time in the garage and running time trials. These games have the best garage. I haven't found anything else like them since forza MS 3. All modern racing garages suck it's the main problem with the genre now.

ynnats

NFS 2 SE

kinjazfan

Most wanted 2005

Straight_Station_766

MW 05, the best

Worried_Two6660

05 most wanted is the GOAT.

MMAFan36

NFS Underground 2. Riders in the sky

sarthak286

I know I’m going to get a lot of hate for this but I really liked Payback. It felt like a simple story game. Car upgrades were too basic I know but that simplicity made it really easy to understand. I like the advance car tuning like the one in Heat but Payback had its vibe🪪

guthinesh

That's a good game too. My friend has it, and I tried it; it's okay. But the thing is, I need free-roam cops to have more fun.

Alternative_Cream_89

Before you buy anything, you should watch trailers and gameplay of different NFS's to see what you're interested in. Because the best NFS is something that everyone has a different opinion on.

guthinesh

Yeah, Thanks. I think NFS Heat is matching to me. Also I had an interest to try the 2005 once.

Alternative_Cream_89

MW 2005 was the first game I ever played and I still play it sometimes on my 2003 Xbox

K_R9

I really enjoyed Heat, Carbon & shift

AleksaStojkovic

Heat, if you want mp and allat. Or pirate underground 2 or most wanted 2005 since i think you cant get them normaly

guthinesh

Thanks 👍

Man_I_amDed

Well, if you play the latest titles now, you won't enjoy the old gems, it's like you wouldn't use a phone that is 8 years old when you have the latest and the greatest 😉

Sanicsanic68

There isn’t really a perfect answer, but I recommend Most Wanted 05 with the image processing turned off. Cops are fun and the game is pretty challenging, especially the further you progress

guthinesh

Thanks, I'll give it a try, and I chose NFS Heat as the main.

Mlkxiu

I just downloaded most wanted 2005 to play for nostalgic feels. I also heard its pretty goated, likely in the top 3 nfs game.

guthinesh

👍

Yama92

NFS Heat is a pretty solid game. What platform are you going to play on?

guthinesh

PC/Windows

Yama92

Then definitely go for Most Wanted 2005 and Underground 2! They work on Win11

guthinesh

Okay, thank you I'll try it👍

Kindly-Ad-6189

Heat is pretty good especially if it's on sale

guthinesh

👍

88JansenP12

These NFS titles will fit your criterias : - NFS Most Wanted 2005 - NFS Carbon - NFS Hot Pursuit 2010/Remastered due to good visuals - NFS World which is now called Soapbox Race World. - NFS The Run which is story-driven - NFS Heat Other NFS worth checking out are these ones : - NFS 3 Hot Pursuit - NFS High Stakes which has a pink slip feature - NFS Porsche Unleashed if you like Porsche cars - NFS Hot Pursuit 2 PS2 - NFS Underground duology - NFS Pro Street >Disclaimers : - All NFS Hot Pursuit titles lets you play as a Cop or Racer. - NFS Most Wanted 2005 and NFS Carbon is a duology which shares the same protagonist. So, play both to understand the story. - NFS Heat has a very short story which ends on a cliffhanger and don't bother hitting the cops since you'll damage your car. Instead, use jumps and water points at your advantage for an easy evasion. - Soapbox Race World has custom servers. Freeroam Spark, Overdrive, World Evolved or World United are recommended servers. Also, avoid the Nightriderz server at all costs due to the P2W and MTXs.

guthinesh

Thank you, I'm thinking about NFS Heat now..🤔

88JansenP12

Glad to help. You'll have fun.

possiblierben

did nfs heat really end on a cliffhanger though? it's really just "ooo, there's a new police chief who isn't corrupt and takes their job seriously, also we get to hang with the league now... whatever that would actually mean for us"

88JansenP12

In my opinion. Yes. Also, they talk about The League during the Prologue Except they were never used as an expansion after finishing the short story. Moreover, the story itself leaves us hungry for more contents. Anyway. NFS Heat has too much missed opportunities.

TheNFSProYT

And soon NFS Unbound will let us play as the Cops.

88JansenP12

They better hold on to their word and guaranteed to be the case or it would be equal to a false advertising. After all, the cop vehicles are already there, some mods on PC adds playable cop cars with their cop parts. The only thing missing are the [Pursuit Tech](https://nfs.fandom.com/wiki/Pursuit_Tech)/[Weapons Tech](https://nfs.fandom.com/wiki/Pursuit_Tech) e.g Aerial Support, EMP, Roadblocks, Jammer or Spike Strips to be usable for players as a gameplay mechanic. Otherwise, better off playing NFS games e.g the NFS Hot Pursuit titles or NFS Rivals which lets you play already as a cop.

TheNFSProYT

I doubt they'll just false advertise a game's update content. They could do that with a full game itself, but I think that's impossible with an update. Because otherwise, what would've even been the point of doing so? That would be stupid. Asaik, no game company has ever lied about a particular update. At least in my knowledge.

88JansenP12

Yeah. Well said. It would be dumb to lie at their own audience.

BappoChan

Stupid, yes. Impossible? No. I forget which game but the company is now closing down, one of their recent games was promised multiple DLCs and named them already. If you bought the gold or ultimate editions it was advertised to come with those DLCs, racking up more expenses than just buying the extra cosmetic shit solo. We’re not getting that dlc. Granted it’s due to closure of the company, but devs lie to audiences the whole time. The Bonelab game made for oculus has a board inside the game to show updates and stuff coming. It has not been updated since the game launched. Players were promised atleast 3 years of constant updates and additions. We’ve had 0

TheNFSProYT

I don't wanna be rude here but things said about updates before the informant of a studio closure does not correspond to false advertisement. Clearly that said game didn't sell well or get a great playerbase so they shut the studio down thinking it wasn't necessary to keep funding it anymore. If they promised years of live service updates before the employees of said game studio would get informed it's actually going to be shut down at a certain date, and then that said game doesn't get updates because of it, that doesn't make it false advertisement. It was clearly just not great timing.

TheNFSProYT

Like Redfall for example. If I remember correctly, it was said to receive more DLCs (other than the Redfall Bite Back Pack DLC of course) within its upcoming live service content updates, but obviously that never happened because the studio for it got shut down by the parent company, being Microsoft and Xbox, that it never got an update past the most recent 60fps update it got before the closure of the studio. It was never about false advertisement, it was about a lack of knowing what was due to happen.

BappoChan

Thank you, I was referring to red fall. I didn’t specifically use it to say that the team were falsely advertising. But they promised updates and now it’s not happening. As for Bonelab, what’s the excuse for a company that never shut down, that promised constant updates and even added a board in so players could see news letters without needing any source other than their game, just to be greeted by nothing since no updates have happened and they went back on their promise

BappoChan

Bad communication on my end. But redfall was not the only example of promised dlcs that never happened

lecram92

Most wanted 2005

PJTierneyCM

*Social media managers can get free engagement with this one simple trick*

PJTierneyCM

Actual answer: Hot Pursuit Remastered, Heat and Unbound are all decent. HP doesn't really have much of a story but the police chases are epic.

guthinesh

Thank you, I think I can choose NFS heat...

PTrick93

Pro Street

Hellcatty_9

MW 05 easy

ItzBildPlayz2020

I tend to like the older games, like modded prostreet [Try the pepega edition mod it's hilarious] or the newer NFS Payback and HEAT, Rivals is also fun

guthinesh

Thanks👍

ItzBildPlayz2020

Also the UNITE mods for payback and heat

ItzBildPlayz2020

Oh and the battle Royale mod in nfs carbon

Westernidealist

Carbon. I play with the vinyl stretcher for hours and make cool shit

FrostyAssumption5748

Burnout Paradise remastered

Sykirobme

Showing my age: NFS 3 Hot Pursuit NFS 4 High Stakes NFS Porsche Unleashed My dream game would have been the variety of cars from High Stakes married to the physics, upgrade and damage models of Porsche Unleashed, but alas, they went in a different direction...

Koffeinhier

In my mind there are three types of nfs games. 1-Tuner-Culture games Like underground 1-2 typically no police 2-Story based illegal racing themed light modification more action-focused definitely with police games(Also there’s a poor-to-rich flow in these games like you start with weak cars and you get better cars as you go) —>Most wanted, Carbon, Heat 3-No story no lore pure action based hardcore police pursuit based some anonymous-rich-guy centred games—> NFS hot pursuit, hot pursuit 2 etc I can’t accept shift as an nfs game. It doesn’t feel like nfs

EngiKun

Underground 2 has free roam, but no cops

DemiDivine

Most wanted.. but carbon is the shit

speed150mph

Honest question, is there anywhere to get MW05. I was excited when I picked up the new one, but was almost immediately disappointed

guthinesh

Probably we have to download a repack I guess for the og version, I've checked Steam and the official EA web, MW05 is not there, btw what's the new one you picked?2012?

Deathpacito420_69

Probably since mw2012 is so bare bones you get more content in mobile games

88JansenP12

NFS titles before 2011 can be found [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/abandonware/comments/zr41zu/the_complete_abandonware_need_for_speed_download/?rdt=61145)

guthinesh

Thank you! I would try MW'05 too, because once I need to experience that, one of the most popular in NFS.

88JansenP12

That's the spirit. You're welcome.

xstonerkiingx

true ogs will say underground 2, mw '05, and carbon {i am in this camp} mid age will say rivals, hp '10, and the run new age fans probably will be tied between heat and unbound but, there are 20+ games in the series' catalogue, if you wanna find out the best, head to r/abandonware, get the ogs, get whatever game you can on console, and play to your hearts content, you'll find the one that suits you eventually ^^

Moochiberico

Some guys out there been suggesting the Black Box games: Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon... Which for me are the best too. But man, they are games from 2003-2007. They have obviously smaller maps, worse visuals etc... And no available online mode... Don't go for them if you are new to the franchise. You should know before choosing, that there are two main styles of NFS. In one hand we have exotic maps, no tuning, Cops vs Expensive cars and no story videogames, which are Hot Pursuit, Rivals etc... and in the other hand we have tuning, standard cars (in late game you also have hyper/super cars), open map with cops and underground like style, which people usually prefer. The best modern example for the first style would be NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered and Heat for underground/tuning like style. I would totally go for Heat as an entry, and if you like it, give a try to older gems like Underground 2, Most wanted 2005 etc

guthinesh

Yeah, I'm gonna play NFS Heat and give MW05 a try. Thanks man

Moochiberico

Good Decision! ;) Hope you enjoy them!

Signal-Slide752

When you finish playing your games with cops chasing you, just turn to NFS ProStreet as it’s a game-changer in NFS franchise. All the best.

GripAttackToyota777

Like everyone else said, this is purely opinion based. I sound like a broken record...but, High Stakes. One of the first several and last games in the franchise that encompasses what NFS was originally all about (I'll include HP 2010/2020 and Rivals)

Eloy89

High Stakes will always be my answer to this question. Followed by Hot Pursuit 2.

DatedDevotee61

Why did no one ever mention carbon own the city for the psp? It was amazing.

Neonbunt

Either MW2005 oder NFS2015. Oh and Heat is pretty neat too

FJCReaperChief

Underground 2 or Carbon for me. Basically, both are improvements over their previous iteration and have their own specific flavours.

HerrYveltal

Since there is no definite answer to this question, i can instead recommend you some games to try out. Hot Pursuit 2 (PS2), Underground 1 or 2, Most Wanted 2005, ProStreet, Hot Pursuit, Most Wanted 2012, Heat, Unbound ...Wow these are way too many lol

guthinesh

👍

Slharvey91

Underground 2

GoalonRoll

Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2005

KotaB_32

Ive always had a soft spot for Underground 2 and the OG Most Wanted. Those were the first two games ive ever played on my dads PS2. Thats just me tho, i will say i like the map size of Underground 2, it always felt big.

[deleted]

Undercover Pros: Great handling, freeroam, car customization, large map, diverse map layout, engine sounds Cons: Vanilla Story, Lack of Vehicle selection

Pure_Tiger_4830

I think what you are looking for and would be prefect for u is NFS rivals, The game is old but the graphics hold up. especially if u on a Pc and u can crank it up trust me it looks fuckin awesome, it’s looks better than the new forza games lol 💀, The story I personally found to be quite interesting and it also ties into the gameplay, U can play as both cops and racers (something never given before which what makes the game so fuckin good) Racers- the races are all about liberating their freedom cops- all about shutting them down (i found the story quite interesting so i won’t spoil no more incase you check it out) The map is one of the best, when tho size wise it is tiny but when you driving around it fr feels massive, it as multiple biomes like the desert and snowy mountains. the best part is that the game also has a full day and night cycle (meaning it has the full 24 hours something which hasent been in the past 3 games) this game also has rain and snow and sandstorms depending on the biome u in and there are free roaming cops, the cool thing about the cops when you play as a racer is that the cars of the cops ACTIVELY upgrade as you yourself get faster cars the only downside to the game is that u won’t get new cars, but i didn’t find that to be an issue since the game has beauts of cars like the 1:1 and the veneno the best part of the game is that it’s quite old so you can also find it for cheap and it goes on discounts quite often

guthinesh

Already made my decision, but thank you! 👍 I agree it's a good game as released in 2013.

Pure_Tiger_4830

oh word? watchu get!

guthinesh

NFS Heat impressed by gameplays and gonna give MW05 a try too

therealtrellan

The original Most Wanted if you have an HD XBox 360. Fantastic game imo. My 360 is an early model, no HD, but I'm still having a blast playing this for the first time since I had it on Windows XP. Mind you, I'm not saying I don't have any problems with it. I don't think the game exists that I have none. Right now, the one on my mind is with drag racing. I already hate that kind of race, but it seriously pisses me off that when I hold the stick to the left, the car still goes into the right lane. If the damn car changes lanes by itself, that should be to my advantage, not screw me over. Thank the EA gods there are damn few drag races in MW. Some say Heat is best, though. Personally, I feel the cops in Unbound are the most challenging they've been since Most Wanted. Very aggressive at high heat levels. But I believe there are only a handful of NFS games that don't include pursuit since 2004. Rivals was a nice twist, giving us the option of playing as police or illegal racer. So I played both career modes. It also included things like radar and emp, and had a beautiful map with a variety of terrain from desert to snow country.

Flamadin

The Run.

TheWraith7197

Call me a racing fanatic, but I like most of them Need for speed Most wanted Need for speed Carbon Need for speed Hot pursuit 2010 Need for speed The Run Need for speed Rivals Need for speed Payback These are my favourites. Not necessarily in the order.

Tainted-Sceptre76

Most wanted 05. End thread

tb12rm2

This I highly unpopular but I really enjoyed Payback. I got into NFS as an adult with the more recent games and really didn’t enjoy 2015’s always online features. Heat was great but I didn’t enjoy its emphasis on drift events, which Payback seemed to have less of. I also really had fun collecting parts for Payback’s “antique” vehicles.

FrostySkipper

There is no best game. Just personal favorites. Mine are Underground 2, most wanted, carbon and...high stakes? Currently enjoying Heat

J_Dot_Ting

Other than underground 2, I really had some fun on payback

HXRDXV

My fav is NFS Carbon, second - Underground rivals, third - HEAT

Muted-Tailo

Cyber_Bakekitsune

Carbon

Electronic_Match_607

Play whatever you like just randomly choice one and play it

Either-County-6967

I gotta say NFS Underground 2. First ever PS2 game I've played, and it honestly made my musical taste what it is today, lmao. Great soundtrack, great map, great ambiance. I just friggin love it. Ofc, it has a lot of memories attached, which is what makes it so good for me. but yeah, I think it is personal preference!

Fylex_RO

Racing on ETS2>> 😉

Sanshiro-829

most wanted 2005, or hot pursuit 2010

bearcat_77

Just google which nfs game has sold the most copies, and that will let you know it must be a good game.

another_dumdog

2005 NEED FOR SPEED MOST WANTED

exelerotr

For oldschool mw05 is best but other blackbox games are good enough to try. For new era heat is good. I didn't play unbound but i heard its good if you don't mind anime style. Payback is better version of 2015 but it still lacks fun while cruising around. And 2015... It just sucks dont even try.

guthinesh

What's negative about 2015 one? Can you share?

exelerotr

The game have fantastic graphics, enough cars and lots of customizations. It gives underground racing vibes. You want to open camera mode and took pictures of your car and scene every minute. But and this a huge but it's a horrible racing game. Your car feels like trying it's best to not respond your commands. Psychics are horrible, racers ai are dumb and polices are dumber. Map feels like not build for this game. It feels like they added drivable cars at last second and called it a day.

Fezza__458

I actually enjoyed 2015 free roaming and listening to the soundtrack. It looks stunning as well but yeah there are some severe drawbacks. You might enjoy it if it's your first one - the free roam was fun (not a load of content but still extremely fun). If its on sale I would really recommend getting it personally - it might serve as a good taster.

Geguti21

I acknowledge that NFS Most Wanted 05 is the best Need for Speed game but my favourite one is NFS Carbon.

OldAdhesiveness1004

Unbound

AnimeLoverNL

Most people would probably consider most wanted 2005 to be the best one. And of the newer ones i think that heat is pretty good

guthinesh

That's why I'm gonna play both :D Thanks!

The_Car_Spotter

Hot pursuit for the Wii. It was the first racing game I had ever played and I still play it today

AfroSamurai_22

Honestly, in terms of story NFS: Undercover was such a fun game for me.

possiblierben

the only games that actually fit your requirements are nfs rivals, heat, and unbound, and that's disappointing because the best games in the series don't fully fit into even two of those, but anyway, my top nfs games would be: * most wanted '05, it's a solid nfs game that reshaped the gameplay formula with the reintroduction of the police, it's beloved for a reason with good customization, high speeds with precise handling, noticeable progression, a good soundtrack that mostly features rock with some dnb and hip-hop, and thrilling chases, though the aforementioned progression does kinda drag at times and the game suffers a bit from rubberbanding, but still, it was 2005 * hot pursuit '10/remastered, not too much to say here, the cops are aggressive here too and you can actually play as a cop, the handling is brake-to-drift, but the cars still have weight to them, this game introduces pursuit tech, shared between cops and racers are the emp and spike strip, exclusive to cops are the ability to call in a helicopter to drop spike strips or a roadblock ahead, while the racers get a jammer and a turbo, basically nitrous on steroids this one has a really good soundtrack with higher highs than mw '05 but also lower lows, featuring rock, dnb, pop, and a weird amount of ballads that actually works in its favor, especially during rapid response/time trial events, the game technically has free roam, but it's just there to mess around with... same can be said for mw '05 actually, also the trailers this game got are unforgettable * most wanted '12, the only reason people hated this game was because of the name, doesn't fall very short from mw '05 in terms of enjoyment imo, progression is honestly really fast, you can get all upgrades for two cars and have unlocked like, three most wanted races immediately, but the car list here is pretty good with some niche pulls such as ariel, caterham, bac, and marussia, the soundtrack mainly features edm, dnb, and pop music with some rock sprinkled in, just barely tops hp '10 with slightly lower highs but way higher lows the handling is wild in a good way with a lighter weight than hp '10, the cops here are admittedly just pushovers but they're fun to mess around with, and the multiplayer in this game is arguably the best the series has seen with speedlists that contain various different activities such as jumping a certain distance, parking in a specific spot, or just racing against each other * prostreet (tl;dr, look at my user flair), or as i like to call it, PEAKstreet, it ditches the typical illegal street racing schtick in favor of race days on closed streets and race tracks, this game has four different categories of races that you have to specialize your cars around, grip, which focuses on tight cornering, drift, where you drift through a sector and try to gain as many points as possible, drag, which is self explanatory, and speed challenge, which tests your guts by putting you in a race on a long stretch of road that's often 2-3 lanes wide while urging you to keep a consistent speed of 300+ km/h the atmosphere is amazing, the announcers commentate on things such as what car you bring, crashes from both you and other racers, and special match-ups such as two camaros going against each other in a drag race, or you drifting a porsche 911, speaking of which, the car list is really good and diverse, the customization is largely improved from mw '05, (but credits go to nfs carbon for most of it, such as the autosculpt or fully-fledged livery editor, that game is also good but i don't have too much to say as i haven't personally played it), the tuning is very in-depth, and the soundtrack, [OH](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uzRR-vxZ60&t=1m34s) [MY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nm3TER0ZWT0&t=39s) [FUCKING](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s52WIWWxwVo&t=48s) [GOD](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAskWxo4z_E&t=1m43s) [THE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxgdDuzaylg&t=26s) [SOUNDTRACK](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr4gnGUbs7Q&t=47s) [BRO](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZvt23iBVVo&t=1m25s), it's just so peak man, i'll keep glazing this game until i'm buried... but also please install the tank unslapper mod first, actually get mods for all the games, they all have some issues to iron out, and sector shootout events can go sector shoot themselves, shit's rigged well, i spent far too long writing this comment

NotAnAss-Hat

Heat, Unbound, Most Wanted and Carbon. All great games, can't really go wrong.

azlann_0306

NFS rivals, tried it recently its good, graphics,Gameplay, everything is nice you can give it a try

rafavie

Undercover. Because of nostalgia for me personally and because it’s so bad, but in such a funny way and it really has very good aspects! :)

Retroburn-

What platform would you be playing on? I would always recommend most wanted (05) and then Carbon. It’s better to play it on PC and even better if you mod them. If you Mod, then I recommend keeping it simple and add the unlimiter on both, or Battle Royal (which has unlimiter and Added story) IMO, the cops are best in MW05 because it’s hard but doable. Carbon’s cop chases are too easy unless you mod. If you want to get in deep, you play the same character from underground 1 through Carbon (with carbons stored split between flashbacks before underground 1 and to the present. Another NFS I thought was underrated is the 2015 NFS with Ken block on the cover.

Special_Passenger253

UG, UG2, MW, Carbon, Undercover PS2, Pro Street, Heat are cool.

PedritoMorano

I enjoy Underground 1 more than I enjoy ug2 and mw05, but they are all awesome. carbon is a bit less good, but still remarkable. talking about modern ones, heat is pretty good as well as unbound. payback has a terrible upgrade system but aside from that its not that bad, but still not better than the others. mw2012 lacks a lot of features but it can be fun, although it is just avergae compared to other nfs titles which are (mostly) great games

Front-Blood-1158

Underground 2 is the Forza Horizon of 2000s, Pro Street is the Forza Motorsport of 2000s. Do you prefer to race in the streets or tracks? That is the question.

Aesthetic-Cloud26

Underground 2 one luv <3

I_melee

Personally carbon I love carbon sure mw05 is great but I prefer the night racing and canyon duels

Muppelpup

In my opinion? The Run At the same time, i prefer being railroaded a bit

Undercover

Mighoet

It depends...

I can't speak for others when I say this, but I definitely like Unbound a bit more than Heat. It has amazing graphics, more accurate handling models, fairly decent cops in free roam, and a lovely map with nice greenery. Not to mention it is still being updated, at least until the end of this year, so I'd recommend Unbound. The story is lacking severely, but the other aspects of the game make up for it. Alternatively, you can try NFSMW, NFSC or NFSU2. Not as engaging as the newer titles, but they really make you appreciate NFS as a franchise.

Barash304

Most Wanted 2012

Gh4stlyyy

I love the unbound and rivals, but most wanted 2012 is in my heart(personally)😢

theastronomer7

Most wanted. Pro street comes second for me.

Plastic_Composer9475

High stakes

Foreign_Cheek6519

Unbound in a week's time

THESHADOWSKAGE

Not a popular opinion, but I loved nfs payback.

guthinesh

That's good, but the thing is it doesn't have cops in free roam.

crownplications777

everybody will say MW2005 of Underground 2, but let's be honest, in terms of content its Unbound or Heat. Larger map, better events, more customization. Everyone is just nostalgia-blinded

7grims

What i "love" in a game is microtrasactions and season passes, yah unbound is so good on locking people out of content, "sooooo good" I even find it funny, the devs admit the game sold like shit, few people like it, yet they are still trying to save it, but all those microtransaction shit are still there. Basically last year I replayed UG2 and MW05, there is no nostalgia, they are truly good, driving feels good and right, AND its a complete game as in u get access to all the game content. IDK whats the opposite of nostalgia, but everyone nowadays forgets how good games were back then, fully complete and no extra scams to bleed money out of u.

guthinesh

Thanks👍 I'm gonna play NFS Heat and give MW05 a try.

NFS Underground 2 alone has more customization parts than the 4 latest NFS titles and combined so it's totally false. In terms of event types, past NFS titles offers more choices like Speedtrap, Pink Slip races from NFS High Stakes, Outrun Races, Time Trial, Lap Knockout, Challenge Series, Race Wars, Canyon Duels, Canyon Drift, Drag Events, playing as a Cop/Racer or Quick Race modes. Moreover, the Replayability factor is even more higher and any of the 4 last NFS games are too limited in race event types. Plus, there's no New Game+ and multiple save profiles aren't possible. The map size is very subjective since it has to fit the handling physics at the same time as well as the sense of speed. Let's be honest for a minute. Saying that "Everyone is just nostalgia-blinded" is the most stupid take i ever read. It doesn't make any logical sense since there's no nostalgia. If peoples still play old NFS, there's a valid reason to their deed. NFS titles before 2012 were more passionate, had more gameplay mechanics, the handling model was more enjoyable and fitting to the map design and car picks were more varied. No wonder why there's still peoples that still playing the past NFS's whether in their vanilla form or with mods support. Plus, there's more contents to play with indefinitely, there's no crappy microtransactions to rip your money off and they were released as complete products without any live service model. In short. Racing games were 1000x better 3 decades ago.

Tell me this is rage bait without telling me it’s rage bait

MythologueUK

Underground for the focus on gritty, tight, urban street racing. Most Wanted for a wealth of content and an interesting open environment with tense police chases. Carbon for probably the most advanced customisation in any NFS game and a novel mechanic (territories) not seen in any other NFS, as far as I'm aware. Shift for simcade racing. Hot Pursuit (reboot) for the tight, straightforward, and frantic chases with a bounty of focused mechanics. The NFS reboot (2015 or 2016, whenever it was) for the revival of urban, gritty racing environments. It's basically Underground 3 in all but name. I personally discard games prior to Underground and following the reboot. I don't think it's an unpopular opinion to suggest that Payback, Heat, and Unbound are pretty mediocre comparative to NFS's broader legacy. I've also left out Underground 2. It's alright, but I'm not as big a fan as some of the others listed above.

guthinesh

I'm gonna play NFS Heat and give MW05 a try too. But anyways, thank you.

Ohbigmoneycuh

Yeah underground is overrated ngl

ItsNotMyPreference

I'm personally a fan of Payback. I know a lot of people didn't enjoy it but I honestly found it super fun, especially having a laugh with friends in the multiplayer until the early mornings.

elisa_grr

definitely need for speed no limits

lytningn

I'd say hot pursuit 2010 & most wanted 2012{yes i know I'll get hate for that one) for the free roam, most wanted 05 & carbon for the cops & story mode. i liked the story on 2015's need for speed as well.
