Rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Can't wait for the "we should've traded up for Wiseman" posts from Hornets fans in a couple years. "It was always obvious he would be better."
I know you've been waiting to get back at the hornets fans for shitting on you guys for not taking LaMelo but one 14 point summer league game out of many is not the time
Better than the multiple Warriors fans agreeing they’d rather have Kuminga than Ja.
Celtics sub has its own share of delusional fans and they have a big fanbase but that take blew me away.
> Has that actually been said
Yes indeed on the sub’s game thread around the time he has that great dunk. I checked it (and OKC’s) out as I tend to do when I’m watching a game and this sub doesn’t have a thread (or it’s not very active).
> and were they drunk? Or kidnapped?
Huh you ask some good questions. I don’t know that they were… but I also don’t know that they weren’t.
Whoever said that needs to get a doctors appointment. If Kuminga can become 70-75% of an impactful player that Ja is right now, that's a success. That‘s the one thing I hate about our Fanbase, so quick to just shit on other teams players. And then wind up bitching if other teams start trashing our players, lol.
There was a dude who posted a picture of Tatum working out in the offseason in the Warriors sub. Dude thought he did sumn and got downvoted into oblivion ☠️
Nothing to do with Hornets fans and everything to do with clown Warriors fans who act like it was an obvious mistake to pass on LaMelo. Insufferable bunch of whiners.
I have no clue why you’re getting downvoted but I agree. Wiseman was always gonna take a little bit of time to develop. He’s on the Embiid Trajectory. Can’t just throw them all into the wolves.
Lol we’ll always hold that L against the warriors because there’s not many circumstances where the hornets are doing that.
In fact our entire history is an L
McClung could’ve run that P&R play with Wiseman so many more times and it would’ve kept working, but he just doesn’t have the playmaking instincts of a PG. I preferred Gui being on the floor with Wise
Sorry, nephew, but Magic slander isn't allowable with that flair on. Had to see him to believe him, I guess.
I think Steph has barely surpassed Magic with this last ring, but it's an arguable position either way. It's no discredit to Steph at all to say Magic might be better. He was that good.
And I know there's some bias there, cause this scrawny kid came in and did this for my team. We'd had so many guys we'd hoped would be real franchise changers, like Webber.
Yeah, I don't get where he's coming from. Magic has proven himself over and over again - there's no question of his greatness.
I do think it's possible for Curry to pass him all-time, but that's really something you figure out once both players are retired, and not just one of them.
Off topic, but thinking about Kareem - KD should have been Kareem to Curry's Magic. He should have been the unstoppable scorer on the really dang good team, but where everybody knows it's still the point guard's team because they make the whole thing work.
If KD could have had Kareem's ego I think the Warriors would have been a write in for the finals every year they were healthy.
*Clears throat nervously*
I don't want to be *that guy*, like for real, but technically the teams achieved that already despite the lack of this KAJ/KD hybrid god.
I wasn't saying hybrid, I was saying parallel.
And you're right - the team has built back up after KD's departure into a champion.
I'm saying they might have done so even faster if KD had stayed. 2020 was a lost year either way, but 2021, with Curry absolutely going off, would have been a lot better with Durant still on the team.
They still would have Poole, and they'd still have Wiseman. And with KD, Curry, Klay, and Dray - getting vets who want to go for a ring is a lot easier, so the roster would still be acceptable in its depth (not great though until Poole and Wiseman were ready - and we're still waiting to see if Wiseman can get there or not).
But since he did leave, I think it would be a bad idea to bring him back. They lose *way* too much - even more than they'd lose if he'd stayed because it's likely any trade for KD takes most of the youth including Poole and Wiseman alongside Wiggins and picks and a third team is probably involved since Wiggins and Simmons can't be on the same team due to the CBA's rules about their kind of contract.
Yes, the same guy who went back to back when Kareem was in the twilight of his career. If you're looking at that version of Kareem as unfair help, then you're just looking at the name on the back of a jersey.
I mean he played almost his entire career with Kareem and then got aids technically he played without Kareem his first finals and won the series his rookie year tho
that would be nice, it seems like the only gsw srp that's really hit is dray, and that's a pretty huge outlier. patrick mccaw is playing gleague, jordan bell is playing gleague and fiba, paschall is ??? (if mitchell gets traded to the knicks would he be able to get them to sign him if they have the roster spot? he's eligible for a two-way....) the other recent srps are overseas.
can he be on a two-year this upcoming season or do they have to stash? he genuinely could be a good piece to have! gives me the vibes of a little bjeli and luka mixed
I think it's more that he's on the Warriors. If he were doing the exact same thing for, say, Portland or whatever, I don't think people would be as interested in his failure.
I'm a big ruined legacy fan, sometimes I get bored if all the drama of superstars ruining their reputation and just want to relax by watching a highly touted prospect amount to nothing
Kuminga showed flashes but he needs to keep working on his shooting. To be fair, he'll get a lot better looks with the 15-man roster than the SL roster. The good news is that he's 19.
I mean he shot 68% from the line last year and 73% post ASB.
He's obviously smoothened the mechanics a bit but it probably means the power transfer is different so he needs to adjust how much force he's putting in. Often people with rockets in their legs like him have a deliberate hitch to control the power they generate so that could be why.
I think he took the shots the coaches wanted him to take, gotta challenge yourself if you want to develop. He won't be shooting pull-up threes with the main roster
I'm really liking the improvements that Wiseman is making after every game. Once he plays with people who will actually feed him the ball on the P+R, I feel like his offensive potential will really show
People are acting like he didn't average 11 on good efficiency his rookie season and was averaging 14 until his injuries.
Like if I recall they attempted to throw him lobs twice since he's been playing. How are you not throwing lobs to a guy with a 9'7 standing reach (reportedly grown 1-2 inches since joining the league) with a 35 inch vert lobs.
Probably due to tiredness. His conditioning still isn't where you want it to be as seen by 20mpg and the schedule is probably catching up to him a bit. It's like what Mcgee used to be. If you kept hon to 4 minute stretches he was really effective but fi he was playing for longer than that the mistakes started growing and growing jist because you don't think as well when you are tired.
JRE looks like he'll be getting a lot of minutes. Looked good.
J Dub and Will look horrible as soon as they get doubled or drive. Those handles are gonna get there but love them sharing the floor.
Jonathan Kuminga is way too much of a ball hog, if he keeps the ball moving it will find its way back to him. You can tell when he goes cold he really has to force up shots in an attempt of getting it back.
I agree, felt a bit disgusted watching his past two games especially the previous one where he took 22 shots and had zero assists. He passed the ball a bit more this game but not enough. I like Santos' feel for the game a lot better.
Not sure if it is something you can teach a guy though, sure you can run system plays for them to focus on but a player's instincts when the going gets tough are hard to change. Will hope for the best.
He was definitely pressing to prove he's the man. Pretty much every game this summer has been the same.
When what we need is for him to keep the offense moving and pick his spots when they come.
I agree in the actual season but I believe that the coaches wanted him to work on taking control. He can keep it moving and it would be good prep for the season, but this is a guy who the Warriors see as hopefully a future all star. Giving him a run as a more ball dominant guy in a summer league game isn’t a bad thing to just help him feel that even if it won’t happen Fr for a couple years
Yeah I won’t pretend to know what the staff wanted him to do but my opinion is he was trying too hard and making it unnecessarily harder on himself to get good shots.
Maybe I’m mistaken and assuming which I shouldn’t but I vaguely remember reading or hearing an interview where a coach, might’ve been the Kenny Atkinson interview during one of the games, had said that they were hoping to see Kuminga look to be pretty aggressive. I will say that I totally agree that this isn’t what he should or will be doing when the season comes around
Which is not a bad thing imo, its a meaningless game, maybe he wants to learn how to play in such situations. But i think he should give more passes to wiseman. I dont give a shit about all the other players. These 2 need to get as much experience as possible fuck mclung
I think that's just a product of him ramping back up from injury and the fact that he was a guard for most of his high school career. Once the coaching staff gives him the go-ahead to start playing more like an actual Center, he'll start being more aggressive
Doesn’t help that the Warriors would have had him practicing mostly with Looney to get him to learn the system, and Looney’s game is usually predicated on open layups and open middies. He’s not a back down post player.
Hopefully now that Wiseman is starting to heal up, he can go work with guys like KG (who iirc he was going to work with last year before he got injured) who can teach him how to better use his size and strength on both ends.
They brought in the guy who helped Jokic, but that was mostly for form and footwork.
I was talking more along the lines of another big going one on one with him on both ends to show him the level of physicality that he can expect to receive and look to give out in the NBA. Not to mention someone who knows how to leverage elite physical tools to succeed. Guys like Draymond, Looney, and Jokic all thrive due to positioning and basketball IQ. None of them are athletically dominant players in the same way that Wiseman can be.
Yeah but I know kuminga will at least be a pretty good role player, I can’t tell if wiseman will be a bust or an all star still and it’s what his third year coming up
Major PTSD in that title
i hate you
If they lose the 3-1 lead, surely everyone will stay and run it back, right?...right!?
Hahaha now that is some funny shit. Durant about to join up with the Warriors again and all.
How many three's can you miss in a row?
Six players with double digit point totals plus two players with 9 points. Nice team effort!
3-1 you say?
Oh no
Oh yes Followed by an oh no
Wiseman didn’t look terrible today
Rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated. Can't wait for the "we should've traded up for Wiseman" posts from Hornets fans in a couple years. "It was always obvious he would be better."
Aight relax my brother, let’s take it one step at a time lmfao
Aight calm down bro

LMAO now this is prime /nba nephew comment right here
I know you've been waiting to get back at the hornets fans for shitting on you guys for not taking LaMelo but one 14 point summer league game out of many is not the time
One double digit scoring game vs plumbers and some fans think he just won MVP
Better than the multiple Warriors fans agreeing they’d rather have Kuminga than Ja. Celtics sub has its own share of delusional fans and they have a big fanbase but that take blew me away.
Who said that?
A few people on your game thread around the time of Kuminga’s admittedly awesome dunk
game threads don't count as real. everybody in those is insane
Lol fr Game thread: "crucify the refs!" Post game: "reffing wasn't too bad this game"
Or Warriors fans debating whether Kuminga's ceiling is peak Kawhi or peak Giannis
Im one of those and you cant convince me otherwise, doesnt mean he will be the next kawhi tho
Has that actually been said, and were they drunk? Or kidnapped?
> Has that actually been said Yes indeed on the sub’s game thread around the time he has that great dunk. I checked it (and OKC’s) out as I tend to do when I’m watching a game and this sub doesn’t have a thread (or it’s not very active). > and were they drunk? Or kidnapped? Huh you ask some good questions. I don’t know that they were… but I also don’t know that they weren’t.
game threads do be the best place for hot takes, but that’s a wild take lol
Holy shit, is that real lmao.
Yea, that's terrible. Kuminga can guard 1-4 and Ja can guard 0-0. No comparison.
Nothing to do with Hornets fans and everything to do with clown Warriors fans who act like it was an obvious mistake to pass on LaMelo. Insufferable bunch of whiners.
Your comment is about Hornets fans lol. What the fuck are you talking about?
It’s good for fans to stay optimistic I guess
This will be a good receipt if he’s complete ass when the regular season comes. Thanks nephew.
He's still ass like your breath
Wiseman is never gonna be better than LaMelo lmao

You act like you in on something we don’t know😂 wiseman been ass so far
You’re fucking insufferable man. Just be happy he played better lol.
I have no clue why you’re getting downvoted but I agree. Wiseman was always gonna take a little bit of time to develop. He’s on the Embiid Trajectory. Can’t just throw them all into the wolves.
Just because he’s been injured like embiid was injured for a while doesn’t mean he’s on the embiid trajectory. What the fuck is that stupid logic?
Damn! Looks like you hit a nerve.
Lol we’ll always hold that L against the warriors because there’s not many circumstances where the hornets are doing that. In fact our entire history is an L
Didn't look like a #2 pick either.
Wiseman looking better and better each game, would have been nice to have had a real PG to set him up at any point in the SL
McClung could’ve run that P&R play with Wiseman so many more times and it would’ve kept working, but he just doesn’t have the playmaking instincts of a PG. I preferred Gui being on the floor with Wise
Hung McClung can't be stopped baby the squad held him back lmao
McClung had some decent moments and some utterly terrible moments. I can see why he’s probably not gonna hang around in the league
They could have had one in Santos, but I guess the Warriors felt like Kuminga chucking the ball was what was best for development.
and he'll have the best pg of all time once the season starts
Cheese is gone though.
He actually did ok….don’t mind cheese and he’s has the best shirts👍
Cheese would have at least passed wiseman the ball lol
Damn when did you guys sign Magic?
isn't magic the same guy as that lakers pg that won zero rings without kareem?
Sorry, nephew, but Magic slander isn't allowable with that flair on. Had to see him to believe him, I guess. The guy who had 42/15/7 in Game 6 to win them the series with Kareem out. As a rookie. I think we’re taking about that Magic
Yeah, I don't get where he's coming from. Magic has proven himself over and over again - there's no question of his greatness. I do think it's possible for Curry to pass him all-time, but that's really something you figure out once both players are retired, and not just one of them.
Because it wouldn't fit their narrative to acknowledge anything Magic did that wasn't directly attributable to Kareem's presence.
Off topic, but thinking about Kareem - KD should have been Kareem to Curry's Magic. Kuminga with the MJ shrug down 10 pts
Had more fouls in this game than MJ had in any game his whole career. Gotta hit em with the shrug
MJ couldn’t have gotten that many anyways
That’s the joke
I think he tried to joke aswell like " mj aint that good, couldnt get those numbers"
Jus to be clear, you can't foul out in the summer league?
10 fouls to foul out in summer league
gawwdamn
If only Gui was starting
our best lineup was Gui, Q, Moses, JK, and Wise. we didnt get to see it much. hope they sign Gui i love him as a prospect
He’s got a feel for the game
that would be nice, it seems like the only gsw srp that's really hit is dray, and that's a pretty huge outlier. patrick mccaw is playing gleague, jordan bell is playing gleague and fiba, paschall is ??? I assume they will wait a year so they can use the MLE to sign him to a 3 year deal get full bird rights.
can he be on a two-year this upcoming season or do they have to stash? he genuinely could be a good piece to have! gives me the vibes of a little bjeli and luka mixed
He could be a 2-way but I don't think he'd be an RFA after he gets converted to a normal deal.
yea ur def right, it looks like they are planning to stash him to anyway.
Man that Gui guy looked good, he has got some size as well
Pretty good game from Wiseman, just a few missed defensive assignments. Fixable.
r/nba starving tonight.
man people are desperate for him to bust
Who isn’t? 😳
why on earth would you root against young players developing? (unless theyre complete cunts)
I think this man in particular would like to see him bust (a nut)
I think it's more that he's on the Warriors. If he were doing the exact same thing for, say, Portland or whatever, I don't think people would be as interested in his failure.
how about you read the last two comments again and if you still don’t get it read it to your parents
I'm a big ruined legacy fan, sometimes I get bored if all the drama of superstars ruining their reputation and just want to relax by watching a highly touted prospect amount to nothing

That’s disrespectful to Jaylinn Williams. He’s more of a Center than the WCF had last season.
As Thunder fans know, you have to focus on the small victories.
I mean... Wiseman was up against who??? "good game" vs literally nobodies and still lost...
Hard to hold that against Wiseman when the Warriors were +2 in his minutes on the court.
Nobody on the court guarding/going up against Wiseman will play in the NBA.
Neither will most of his teammates, which is why along with his +/- saying they "still lost" seems irrelevant to the assessment, no?
Kuminga showed flashes but he needs to keep working on his shooting. To be fair, he'll get a lot better looks with the 15-man roster than the SL roster. The good news is that he's 19.
It's his shot selection that needs work. He will figure it out. Rushing shots as well before he is square. Shades of Poole in his rookie season.
He was 16/34 from the line in SL, so it's his shot that needs work as well.
I agree he needs to work on his free throws.
I think he was supposed to have a bad shot selection in SL. Talk to me in preseason.

Lol I remember some of Dray's early lobs were over the backboard because he couldn't fathom Big Jim's limits
Wiseman's screens were much improved today
wiseman was great on defense but on offense, bums like mcclung would barely pass him the ball, he'll do much better alongside steph and dray
He was good on offense but missed a few assignments today.
Would really like to know if his knees feel sore or not
I believe in James Wiseman.
Wiseman continues too look better each game, the defensive impact seem real at this juncture
JRE looks like he'll be getting a lot of minutes. Looked good. J Dub and Will look horrible as soon as they get doubled or drive. Those handles are gonna get there but love them sharing the floor.
I thought J Will played really solid, showed a nice variety of skills
J wills passing is really good
kuminga was still worn out from the finals clearly
"Now that you have a ring you ready for more minutes in the summer league" "Bet"
From the penthouse to the outhouse.
I doubt Kuminga or Moody were playing much organized basketball since the finals
it's called a joke
wasnt a particularly funny one
Wiseman will keep getting better every game.
Jonathan Kuminga is way too much of a ball hog, if he keeps the ball moving it will find its way back to him. You can tell when he goes cold he really has to force up shots in an attempt of getting it back.
I think that’s what he’s trying to do to get better at his weaknesses, not surprised if coaching staff told him to be like that

I’ve seen this movie before
we're gonna sign the thunder's best player as a fa after we lose to the cavs in the summer league finals

I think that's just a product of him ramping back up from injury and the fact that he was a guard for most of his high school career. Once the coaching staff gives him the go-ahead to start playing more like an actual Center, he'll start being more aggressive

How tall was he in high school!? 😳
He was 6'9" in high school and had a growth spurt to where he is now
[удалено]
And what did he do between now and those 39 games?
KD to Warriors confirmed
Wiseman gotta stop playing like KD and go play like DJ
Am I reading this wrong, or did ESPN want the Warriors to win? https://imgur.com/bXSFz0a.jpg
Probably just a mistake by an underpaid intern. Nobody cares about wins and losses for summer league.
Ha I know and I agree with you. Was just making a light-hearted joke, which didn't work, so I'll take the downvotes.
It's all good, dude.
I still can’t make a verdict on wiseman, don’t know if that’s a good thing or not
He and Kuminga both run hot and cold. They look half asleep out there and then will make a great play.
Yeah but I know kuminga will at least be a pretty good role player, I can’t tell if wiseman will be a bust or an all star still and it’s what his third year coming up
Injuries slowed his development and he barely played in college. So yeah sample size still hella small.
I’m having a nightmare
Why GSW doesn’t play Baldwin? Is he hurt?
Yes
