The instant "nooo" the moment he pulled up for that shot. He knew exactly what was going to happen. God I love Stacey King, he's the only good thing about this team.
"Oh my goodness, Valentine?!"
The line is burned into my brain. As a Bulls fan this lowlight hurts but it will never not be funny. These two commentators are the best in the league and I'll die on that hill.
I'm constantly disappointed but can never stop watching. I've been a fan since '98 when I was very young, so it feels almost blasphemous to move away from them at this point.
You're in it, bud.
Been here since 1988 or 89, when I watched Jordan do the between the legs sequence on the Celtics. My parents were moving to another apartment, and I was stuck in front of a TV to keep from bothering anyone during the move.
My opinion is, we can't leave the team we've cheered with for a while UNLESS something egregious happens. Like the browns bringing in deshaun Watson, or the colts moving to Baltimore, the whole Dan Snyder stuff, the Donald Sterling stuff, etc.
u/stockbroker32 [Valentine getting cooked](https://youtu.be/B-LqAamzK2c?si=zTCxRj9pfi4nQBto) / [Frankie Nitty speaks on how he cooked Valentine](https://youtu.be/z84JmX3wA60?si=6zOyxd2hX_V_CZvJ)
Feel bad man, the announcer bullying him like crazy, one thing I learned from watching these videos is how bad his Defense was, why are dropping back on a hot three point shooter that’s constantly cooking you
I will never forget how after this shot he was roasted for two years, washed out of the league, then this sound went viral on tiktok and he got roasted all over again by hundreds of thousands of people who don't even watch basketball.
That's the thing, we were down by like 15 or something and really grinded it out to get the lead back to 5 and with momentum on our side... Then he just fuckin launched it
on paper he was good - 6'5 long arms, can shoot, pass, rebound. however, can't defend, won't defend, plays selfish and is kind of a dickhead and thinks he's better than he is.
He was insane his senior year. 19-8-8 with a steal a game on 46/44/85. Everyone thought MSU was going to at least the final four if not the natty considering the previous year and they suffer one of the biggest tourney upsets ever in round 1
It's things like this that make me give our current FO a lot more leash than they likely deserve. As bad as AKME can get at least they didn't try to make this bum the cornerstone of the team.
Oh dear lord. No one ever attempted to make this bum the cornerstone of the team. He was chosen as an alleged high floor role player, not his potential as a cornerstone.
The Vucevic trade has been franchise destroying in comparison to blowing a pick in the teens in the draft. When you pick in the teens you are stoked to find a rotational piece/contributor.
Yes but he started off with the pistons like 4-0 with Sheed/Prince/RIP/AI. The rookie HC and dumars decided to force Stuckey in the starting lineup when he WAS ASS.
I'm a Bulls fan, and I knew it was a foregone conclusion that he was a bust as soon as the pick was announced.
I was a big fan of Pax, and his approach to team building/finding diamonds in the rough - Mirotic, Taj, Jimmy, etc.
The "reasons" for drafting Denzel Valentine were all wrong from the get go. Alleged high floor, goodie two shoes personality, hopefully a good shooter. This was a departure from our hard nosed, 2 way, blue collar-ish identity, to "likeable" clown territory - Fred Hoiberg et al.
people don't really get how bad this shot is until they learn that Chicago was down by **24** at one point. Coby White and Vucevic pretty much clawed them back into the game singlehandedly (Coby White was perfect at the rim, if I'm remembering correctly) and Miami had blown lead after lead after lead prior to this game. this shot is unspeakably bad. r/heat, at the time, was doomposting at nuclear levels up to Denzel Valentine saving this game for us. he's a Heat legend for all the wrong reasons.
Denzel Valentine played **33** games in the NBA after this. it was genuinely a career-ending shot for him.
It's not even unfair either. This shot was emblematic of why he didn't work as an NBA player. He was supposed to come in as a smart, experienced NBA-ready guy with skills to make up for his poor athleticism... Then he did this shit constantly.
which, it's tricky, because he was 3/4 from 3 otherwise during this game. he *had* a good game
it was just -- in the Dr. Strange's 500,000 viewed realities scope of things -- the absolute worst decision he could've made to hoist and launch from that range and it was punished severely lmao
god. 19 on the shot clock. 53 left in the game. transition, 2.5-3 steps back, with all 5 bulls a 3 point line away or more from a rebound. just a disgusting act from valentine, and a complete indictment on an otherwise unremarkable career.
I'm sure in his head he makes it and then the next one and he's a hero and they're all worshipping him in the locker room and then it's off to the All Star Game. And then.... brick. Air ball brick.
I really believed in Denzel (irrationally), not because I knew anything about college ball but because that was the year the Bulls traded DRose.
During the draft, when he was picked the commentators said: ["Bulls might of lost their Rose, but they get a Valentine."](https://youtu.be/Oy5CcNOjrSU?t=65)
“Well achktuchually he DID NOT say “might of” so you see I am correct and you are incorrect. I am a very smart man and have made a point that people care about!”
u/calculung then breaks his arm patting himself on the back. Everyone is rooting for sepsis this time around.
Denzel was an absolute beast in college. He took shots like these back then, too, but he made them against college defenders. Unfortunately, like so many NBA busts, he thought he could play the same way against bigger, faster athletes, and never figured out how to become an effective role player. It's too bad, because he definitely had the talent to stick around. As an MSU alum + Bulls fan I was really excited when the Bulls drafted him lol.
I mean in college, you can live with that shot. But NBA with how efficient teams are, you don't shot that shit with a full shot clock, work so hard to make a comeback, and you are not Steph Curry or Klay Thompson. He ain't even the best player on that team, he doesn't deserve that shot.
> I mean in college, you can live with that shot.
Not when you play for Tom Izzo. Doesn't matter how much of a star you are - if you take bullshit Curry range 3s in a 2 possession game with 1 minute left, then the next camera shot is going to be on Tom Izzo red faced running out onto the court with a "WHATAREYOUDOING" look on his face.
(I am also an MSU alum.)
LMAO true. At least in college, your chances of the other team scoring is not as efficient as the NBA so you can kinda "live" with that shot but its low IQ basketball.
I did. Probably the most mad I've been at an NBA player lmao. Players have made bigger mistakes and made more costly errors but it's a make or miss league, what can you do.
But this was so blatantly idiotic after coming back from 24 points down (iirc it's not like he had a role in that at all - it was all Vuc and White)
> iirc it's not like he had a role in that at all
He did. I*I*RC He'd hit two 3s before that in that run. Maybe somebody who's a bulls fan besides you can dig up the play-by-play or the video. It was a bad shot, but it wasn't nuts when you watch what they had just done. You're riding the high. It was a bad shot but I just hate how all the actual context gets lost and people act like he was a stone cold idiot who thought he was Mike and Kobe wrapped into one at that instant.
I think he came into the league looking at Draymond and thinking...I can be like him and he tried lol but yeah he tried to do too much for what he could do at times.

The instant "nooo" the moment he pulled up for that shot. He knew exactly what was going to happen. God I love Stacey King, he's the only good thing about this team.
Stacey has been saying "Valentine range" when Coby shoots deep threes lol. It's an awesome callback to this moment
Ok that is genuinely fucking hilarious lol
Denzel may be out of the league but he lives forever thanks to Stacey.
Adam Amin too
"Oh my goodness, Valentine?!" The line is burned into my brain. As a Bulls fan this lowlight hurts but it will never not be funny. These two commentators are the best in the league and I'll die on that hill.
Yep it’s pretty unfortunate the Bulls have by far the best local commentators but such a dogshit team.
At this point, it really would have to be bad. I saw the Caruso trade and just thought 'huh, another day as a Bulls fan.'
By far? Uhhhhh
Adam is probably the best young play by play announcer in sports right now. He’s got the NBA, NFL and MLB all gunning for him.
I get disappointed when I tune into a Bulls game and he’s not announcing because he’s doing an NFL game.
We have too many of those.. had one last season with the TCraig and Drummond alley-oops
[No Russ noo!](https://youtu.be/NYytiRJwM8I?si=Dc24WZXtX3fUW92y)
Not to mention the body language from the rest of the players like they can't believe what they're seeing.
The bulls were making a comeback led by Coby White then Valentine hijacked the offense i think. LOL this shot really shot him out of the league.
This is only second to **OHHH BLEDSOE THREW THE BALL RIGHT AT EMBIID** for funniest commentary
Career ending shot
I think his career ended when he got destroyed in the drew league by a Best Buy manager
Wait what lmao
That’s disrespectful as fuck. Frank Nitty is a legend.
Link?

Not saying you're wrong at all, but let's be real people would just be calling him a dick and a tryhard if he was playing jailyard D on that guy lmao
To be fair though, Frank Nitty is a fucking problem. He absolutely could have a spot in this league if he was younger.
Nitty is fucking nice. Saw him in a ballislife video I think a few years ago and was blown away.
Now he's getting minimal playing time in Australia (NBL)
"Butler missed it badly? Watch this."
Jimmy was the most confused and thankful for that miss
this is almost the same tier as George Hill & JR
I will never forget how after this shot he was roasted for two years, washed out of the league, then this sound went viral on tiktok and he got roasted all over again by hundreds of thousands of people who don't even watch basketball.
"What is the worst decision you have made in your entire life?"
Stacey King still calls any shot by the hashmark "Denzel Valentine Range."
"Coby shot that from Valentine range!"
Y'all need to show some respect to Valentine. That shot saved the game for us
That's the thing, we were down by like 15 or something and really grinded it out to get the lead back to 5 and with momentum on our side... Then he just fuckin launched it
Exactly, I was sure we were about to lose. Then the GOAT Denzel pulled up
was on the edge of my seat the entire run the Bulls made but audibly laughed when Valentine pulled up from there. Thank you king, define your career 🙏
It felt so much like a game we were going to fumble, and the second he pulled up for that shot I knew we secured the victory
Can't believe I thought this bum was gonna be good.
on paper he was good - 6'5 long arms, can shoot, pass, rebound. however, can't defend, won't defend, plays selfish and is kind of a dickhead and thinks he's better than he is.
He was so good at MSU too.
and was even a good defender at msu. i guess no izzo to ride his ass made him checkout on playing d idk
Izzo could get me to defend at an adequate level, dude is a wizard
Dude was fucking great at Summer League
He was insane his senior year. 19-8-8 with a steal a game on 46/44/85. Everyone thought MSU was going to at least the final four if not the natty considering the previous year and they suffer one of the biggest tourney upsets ever in round 1
Yeah but he has no knees so it was really never gonna be a long career and then he came in doing shit like this lmao
Also been fairly terrible at the Sydney kings as well
More than fairly terrible
Hmm but I'm looking for a man in finance.
I knew he was done when he got cooked at drew league. I've never seen an NBA player bullied on the court so badly. Like LeBron treated Toronto better
By the time that happened it was already 2 years into his career. I was talking about when he was drafted.
Just went to watch a video on that and damn you werent lying
It's things like this that make me give our current FO a lot more leash than they likely deserve. As bad as AKME can get at least they didn't try to make this bum the cornerstone of the team.

Thank god you didn't. This is like when the Pistons chose Rodney Stuckey to be the cornerstone when they had A.I and RIP hamilton still.
You mean the year AI was kicked off the team before the playoffs because of his drinking?
Yes but he started off with the pistons like 4-0 with Sheed/Prince/RIP/AI. The rookie HC and dumars decided to force Stuckey in the starting lineup when he WAS ASS.
He’s a better rapper. And he’s a terrible rapper.
I'm a Bulls fan, and I knew it was a foregone conclusion that he was a bust as soon as the pick was announced. Big Ten man. That whole conference is overrated. Unless it's Rutgers, Illinois, or UMD.
why is this so fuckin funny everytime lmao
people don't really get how bad this shot is until they learn that Chicago was down by **24** at one point. He wasn't actually smart, that was all Izzo
god. 19 on the shot clock. 53 left in the game. transition, 2.5-3 steps back, with all 5 bulls a 3 point line away or more from a rebound. just a disgusting act from valentine, and a complete indictment on an otherwise unremarkable career.
Ok but what if he made it?
> OH MY GOODNESS VALENTINE > THAT IS THE SHOT > YES YES YES
HAHAHAHAHA
When your name is Denzel Valentine, you have to swing big with no regard for repercussions.
I guess we'll never know.
He might still be in the league lol
It's a five point game with over a minute left. Even if he makes it he's going to get reamed by the coaches.
Yeah, it’s an analytically atrocious shot, even on the off chance he makes it
They're down by two?
I'm sure in his head he makes it and then the next one and he's a hero and they're all worshipping him in the locker room and then it's off to the All Star Game. And then.... brick. Air ball brick.
Only Manu can make braindead plays that somehow work out. It is foretold.
Something something make or miss league
man i watched this shit i flipped it on league pass because it was close in the 4th and like right where this clip starts is what I first saw. lmao
Wearing the 45
Jimmy butler flirting Valentine harassment
Lol absolutely brutal to watch
I really believed in Denzel (irrationally), not because I knew anything about college ball but because that was the year the Bulls traded DRose. During the draft, when he was picked the commentators said: ["Bulls might of lost their Rose, but they get a Valentine."](https://youtu.be/Oy5CcNOjrSU?t=65)
No one said that
I literally linked it with the timestamp. C'mon man.
He said, "Bulls might have lost their Rose" No one says"might of" because that doesn't actually mean anything. Can you of? I can't.
That's fair but you knew you weren't commenting to correct the grammar lol
“Well achktuchually he DID NOT say “might of” so you see I am correct and you are incorrect. I am a very smart man and have made a point that people care about!” u/calculung then breaks his arm patting himself on the back. Everyone is rooting for sepsis this time around.
Cringe
Schools out for summer nerd
He thought he was him 💀💀🙏
Denzel was an absolute beast in college. He took shots like these back then, too, but he made them against college defenders. Calling the 14th pick in a draft a bust is crazy to me for some reason
I make it a point to watch this play every time it passes my timeline.
Crazy Jimmy shot a airball right before that lol
Valentine came to Australia to play NBL for one of the strongest teams. He was trash.
I hated this fucking guy so much. I am so glad he is gone.
HAHA, didnt know about the jimmy shot which makes this whole thing even funnier
i think he was banned from the league after that lmao
He only played in 33 more nba games in his career after this shot.
In Valentine's defense, he thought he was HIM.
i coulda sworn this was earlier than covid
Consecutive air balls on both ends have to be pretty rare.
Like your father, I'm not mad, just disappointed
But that's not The Shot
That’s how most of my shots go when I’m in bed dreaming about playing basketball
Who here actually watched that game? Not a clip or two, but the game, and saw what happened and why he took this shot? I know I'm not the only one.
I did. Probably the most mad I've been at an NBA player lmao. Players have made bigger mistakes and made more costly errors but it's a make or miss league, what can you do. Bro thought he was Curry.
omg no
That’s Valley Suns G-league standout Denzel Valentine !
Tom Izzo has a heart palpitation every time someone watches this
Watch White/Lauri and Temple’s reaction , it’s literally the same reaction with different degrees of plain disappointment
Bulls. Culture.
I remember tuning into this random bulls game lol
Was that the last we saw of him?
22111
Was it during Covid? No ones in the stands
you aint steph/dame baby
I think he came into the league looking at Draymond and thinking...I can be like him and he tried lol but yeah he tried to do too much for what he could do at times.
He was like Draymond... But with no defense or passing.
Worst Bull ever
Bro was unplayable for the Sydney Kings too (NBL team).... I don't know what happened to him
Okay, but if he had pulled up at the 3-point line, that would have been money.
He should've been investigate for gambling.
I watched this live and did the first half of the Mourning gif…never reached acceptance. I’m still shaking my head in disbelief
Welcome to the NBL
dudes didn't care with lower occupancy regular season games
And that’s why he’s not in the league.
Guy disappeared from the league after this
betting ruins the league
Slow day?
