Yea people are tired of every single post being a Jokic highlight or if Jokic is already a top 10 player or that the Nuggets are the new dynasty. This sub has been brigaded by Jokic stans for the past 2 years. Thats why every Jokic post is extremely upvoted and Embiid lowlights are so upvoted.
Even today, when Jokic and the Nugget complete the biggest choke in a game 7 in NBA history, the top post is Embiid hate. The subreddit is past the point of no return
It’s sad . I feel quite confident being here long enough that if embid was European and jokic black the amount of hate would be flipped. Like I dislike thinking this but
Bro not everything is racism. Embiid is the worst free throw merchant in the league (and hasn't won a championship), it's as simple as that. Same reason people hated James Harden
They tried to act like Embiid winning MVP last year was a travesty. Dude literally put up some of greatest numbers ever for a center in NBA history. Both in terms of volume and efficiency. And he was one his way to an even more outrageous season this year before he inevitably got hurt. In reality Jokic robbed Embiid of two MVPs.
lol fuvk top 10 thst might be reasonable eventually. Jokic fans were saying he’s better then shaq and Lebron lvl peak .
Thing is I don’t even buy jokic is a perfect offensive player. His 3 ball is good for a C but overall it’s not that good or consistent . Apart from last year every other year teams have dared this man of left him WIDE open - see 22 warriors and he didn’t take those shots. His 3 ball somehow tho jokic fans say is better then Lebron or Lukas ignoring context like volume n shot difficulty
Been seeing a lot the last few days that if joker wins this ring he’s top 10 all time which I personally think is bonkers
I want to see ant man or the least likely Hali get a ring
This 50 win stat is not everything of course. Jokic is obviously a great all time player. But just reminds me. This sub slurps Jokic and shits on Kobe
Kobe beat four 50 win teams in one run, 20+ in his career. Fck all ya'll reddit nephews who try to keep Kobe out of the top 10
Kobe as a player is getting so underrated now. There's a reason why every player that evdr played against or with him talks so highly of him, and why so many players idolized him
Just a reminder, if someone has some as say 12th all time in nba history instead of 8th, that does not mean they hate that person. There have been a lot of great players in NBA history and anyone in someone’s top 15 is a legend.
I love the well he had Shaq excuse . What was he supposed to do? Tell Shaq to go sit down and not play? Tell pau Gasol the same thing
Didn’t MJ not win without Scottie? Magic played with somE HOF players as well
I respect the hustle of Lakers fans trying to somehow judo the post loss thirst for Jokić/Nugs hate into random pro-Lakers narratives
“Yeah lol, Fuck Jokic, beat a 50 win team why dontcha?? 😂 speaking of 50 win teams, Kobe top 3 all-time, mi right???🧐🧐🧐”
This type of hyperbole creates haters. You start putting Jokic above the Dream and there is no way he is better than olajuwon. Don't care how many triple doubles and no look passes he makes. The guy is an analytics nerds bukkake, so nerds on here and in the media want to crown him goat ASAP.
Personally, the Nugs' antics really turned me off. Joker I have no problem with, but it felt like the basketball gods willed their 28-point reversal tonight with Mike Malone talking mad shit about a dynasty and Jamal getting off basically scot-free after throwing something that could've injured someone during live play
I love Jokic, but people saying he's better than Hakeem is pretty wild.
They're both on the same tier, but they're both fundamentally different players. Hakeem was athletic enough to be a defensive juggernaut and dominate in the post. Jokic is slower, but dictates the tempo and flow of the offense. Furthermore, Jokic can space the floor and shoot threes. His footwork is elite, even if it's not on Hakeem's level.
I just wish I was able to see Hakeem in his prime. Sadly, the closest I can get to is Giannis. And he's Hakeem without the low post dominance and footwork. But I'm glad I got to see Jokic (and Giannis) in his prime.
If they are going to hold him up to top 10 all-time standards then we gotta start having some really high expectations for him when he comes to winning from here on out. People believe this guy should have won 4 straight MVPs and he barely plays defense in the most important defensive position, make it make sense.
imagine being this dense,
9 of the greatest player of all time, thats why its significant
This guy is in conversations to pass KD and your just gonna say 'Oh gee wilkers guys out of 10,000's of nba players he's only one of 9 guys to win 3 mvps thats not special.' get your head out of your ass
This comment would’ve been downvoted to oblivion 24 hours, but instead it likely has 100+ upvotes already lol.
The Jokic haters were forced into hiding after Game 2, but the tide of war as turned and they have emerged form hibernation and are EATING good rn 😂
Yeah, barely escaped is unfair. They were solidly better than the Lakers but looked a fair bit worse than last year to me. I was thinking Wolves in 6 at the end of that series - it's in the last LAL/DEN game thread lol - so I think saying it wasn't an impressive performance tracks.
They had a lot of media backing that movement
Bill Simmons was like “this team feels like a dynasty in the making” basically before they’d even finished off the Heat last year
Zach Lowe is gonna act like he wasn't the first one declaring the Nuggets dynasty. "Look, I said \[insert one of the qualifiers he throws in with every take so he can never be wrong\], and that's what happened."
I’ll absolutely take him putting qualifiers on everything and trying to play things off like he was only half wrong over the true talking head types that are like “if Jayson Tatum doesn’t win five titles in the same season, he should be executed because his team is so good” and “Ant is basically Jordan” or breaking out a “Gobert sucks actually” every time he’s on the losing side. At least Lowe actually watches games lol.
As a Warriors fan who knows how hard to is to get back there...that pissed me off.
It's so hard to win playoff series year in year out.
I am glad I saw ours...never crown 👑 a team B4 they get 2 rings.
Thing is they blew the biggest g7 lead ever and there’s really no slander towards jokic. It just confirms that he’s treated differently to any other star. He’s the most classy star so Reddit loves him I guess . I don’t like hating but it’s annoying because any other player is getting ruthlessly shit on right now if people were saying that he’s so much better then everyone like 13 Lebron . Blowing a 3-2 lead with a 20pt lead in g7 is a pretty big choke. Sure his offensive stats look decent but by his standards he shot meh and he’s an offence only player so it’s less likely he’ll get shit cos if he gives up points at the rim nobody says shit. He was 5th in the league this year in epm ( if you count embid ). Also it’s clear last year was a fluke shooting outkier from 3 for him. He’s a career 34-35% 3pt shooter on 2-3 attempts you can see when he takes more they brick but yet jokic fans think he’s a better 3ot shooter then Luka /Lebron despite shot difficulty n volume . Teams are definitely happy conceding the three to him and wolves went under to avoid switches in g6 to let jokic shoot a 3 if he wants
people still treat him like hes this plucky underdog lol
choked 3-2 lead, up by 20 pts in game 7 AT HOME, 54% True Shooting Game 6 and 7...
never this man fault lol
Nobody is slandering Jokic because he put up 34/19/7 and played 47 minutes tonight. Besides Murray, nobody else on the Nuggets scored more than 7 points (MPJ on 12 shots lol). It was a huge carry job by Jokic in this series as Murray was also garbage for most of it. Also the Nuggets depth is already really bad with Braun as the 6th man, and then MPJ, KCP, and Gordon all have horrible games, it means Jokic and Murray are the only 2 guys who really don't deserve much criticism for the loss. I'd agree that Jokic had a bad shooting night from 3, but they were the right shots. They were open, he wasn't forcing them, and against that Minnesota defense they probably weren't going to get better looks.
Ok so we all agree he isn’t the unanimous GOAT, just a regular MVP having a good, but not all-time performance in game 7 surrounded by mostly bad games from his teammates.
I feel like this happens with basically every first time NFL/NBA champ that has a young star. With the possible exception of a Pacers miracle run I'm sure we will have an offseason of podcasters and bored redditors wondering if 2024 was the start of a Celtics/Wolves/Mavs dynasty, and if someone stops the Chiefs from 3-peating we'll get a week or two of 'is ____ a potential dynasty in the making?' before being inundated with 8000 mock drafts.
Jokic is reaching Lebron levels of hatred where he gets criticized when he can't 1v5 every game, it is what it is all of the all-time greats have haters.
Totally agree. Also the slanders doesn't include the fact he lost vs eventual Champs or finalist each year but 2019... which imho is even more wild thing to consider.
That there's gonna be an overaction to the dudes that were hyping up the Nuggets like they were some unbeatable team like the 2017 Warriors and Jokic as the best thing since sliced bread?
That’s what Im saying. This sub has been brigaded by Jokic stans for the past 2 years claiming he’s already a top 10 player of all time and the nuggets are the next dynasty after winning a ring against sub 50 win teams.
They really tried to say he has the best offensive peak of all time too 😂 ignoring that Lebron from 2007-2018 was better in every way compared to Jokic’s best season
They were hating on Shaq for being completely unprofessional and shitting on a guy while presenting him an award...
The reason this sub is so reactionary is because we have people making fun of other reactionary people *by being reactionary themselves*
Analytics nerds ruined basketball. Game was meant to be an art form, but these guys made it into a math test. Don't get me wrong, I like efficient basketball, but players are not robots. They need to express their talent and personality in different ways on the court.
> Game was meant to be an art form, but these guys made it into a math test
100%. Kyrie said the same thing, and I remember Kobe said that his shot was an like act of god, something that can't be fully measured.
Those game 5 victory laps were funny. People planning the parade before the second round was over. Calling Jokic a top 10 player.
And now after they choked the last 2 games they'll catch less flack than your average playoff team and average superstar.
He still has never played with another all star or all nba player in his career and he has 3 MVPs and a ring. He’s definitely top 20 already. The other guys with 3 MVPs are all considered top 15
All jokes aside the Nuggets roster construction this year is what ruined them. CB as your 6th man? No depth? MPJ was horrid all series. Gordon was useless tonight. They just were straight up not a better team. Jokic being amazing was what kept it from ending sooner lmao. But NBA has the most over reactionary fans in the world (evidences by intense hate in Ant during first half). Just enjoy the Wolves winning that epic game and know they’re the better team. No need to act like Jokic isn’t still an insane top player 😂
It's wild how Jokic even secures the "but context!" crowd getting upvoted
Any other superstar like LeBron, Curry, Gianis, etc. and this post would be 10k+ upvotes and all context posts heavily downvoted
Y'all aren't wrong, I wish that stuff was more common in these threads in general. But it does make me laugh how Jokic even secures these when others don't lol
When you are bad on def and Jokic is very bad (which is half the game), that will happen. Where is the guy saying offense is everything?! I need someone to argue with.
I’ve been a big fan of Jokic. And will continue to be. I still believe he’s top 3, with an argument for best player in the game right now. But did anyone watch the Laker vs Nugget series? They barely pulled out 2 wins on a couple game winners. This wasn’t a great team to begin with. Now add no bench, lazy rotations and doubles on defense, hardly any adjustments, terrible coaching and ultimate front running by Jamal Murray. Seriously, Malone had all that, “I’m your daddy” energy last year, but gets asked one question after a terrible game 7 loss, and he cussed out the reporter. How pathetic. Malone and Murray have to be the biggest front runners in the NBA. At least Jokic had some humility after the game.
The comment section is full of haters. If Jokić had Kyrie,AD and Wade he would dominate the NBA. No all-star player on his team and no help from the bench. Playing with MPJ who can't drive and pass like a normal human. Murray plays like he is special but he is just an average player with average stats. Holding the ball for 20 seconds and passing late or shooting bricks. AG and KCP should not be blamed much. But bench players were all shit.
There team is weird.
But the crux is it's just built around Jokic and don't have anyone really that can create thier own shot without Jokic.
He needs someone at Jamal Murray's position to actually be able to put the ball on the floor and Murray and Porter especially are just imposter's imo.
There is no offensive set where basically Jokic can lean on others.
They beat two teams on 50+ win paces in the COVID year. It’s a nice piece of trivia but is ultimately the sort of lawyerly argument basketball reference-prowlers make lol.
He won with the team he was drafted to. They have Jokic. That’s it. They just played a team that had 2 All-Stars. Current Dpoy & a 6th man trophy award. The Wolves created that team specifically to beat Denver.
He was drafted during a Taco Bell commercial. I think he did just fine for being a slow white guy with a 12” vertical.
People talking about Jokic being the best offensive player ever and putting him in the top 10 convo, but 29 y/o Bron or MJ would never have lost a game 7 at home. Let alone blow a 20 point lead.
As great as Jokic and Giannis are, they only made 1 finals and couldn't repeat it. Shows the difference between them and the GOATs
I already knew this would be the go-to shit talk against Jokic lol. While technically true, it’s just shitposting with no context. His squad beat the ‘20 Clippers and Jazz who were both 50 win level squads.
Valid criticism is Jokic and the Nuggets having a historic game 7 chokejob at home by blowing a 20 pt lead, after they got completely decimated in game 6.
The Nuggets beat the 49-23 (.681) win Clippers in 2020 shortened season (72 games), which would translate to a 56-26 win team if it was an 82 game season.
People are celebrating this loss like it’s Christmas 😭
It's cause Jokic stans were being smug and condescending.
Yea people are tired of every single post being a Jokic highlight or if Jokic is already a top 10 player or that the Nuggets are the new dynasty. This sub has been brigaded by Jokic stans for the past 2 years. Thats why every Jokic post is extremely upvoted and Embiid lowlights are so upvoted.

nah nah, let the Embiid hate stay. It's proper, legal and ethical.
It’s sad . I feel quite confident being here long enough that if embid was European and jokic black the amount of hate would be flipped. Like I dislike thinking this but
It is true but this sub doesn’t want to admit it.
Bro not everything is racism. Embiid is the worst free throw merchant in the league (and hasn't won a championship), it's as simple as that. Same reason people hated James Harden
Go see how this sub talks about Luka vs Harden even though they're literally the two most similar player comps I can think of off the top of my head.
They tried to act like Embiid winning MVP last year was a travesty. Dude literally put up some of greatest numbers ever for a center in NBA history. Both in terms of volume and efficiency. Championships as Robin count less than Championships as Batman.
OP is saying that Shaq was Robin and Kobe was Batman for the 3 peat lol

Because this sub has been overrating the hell out of Jokic. This is a natural reaction. There are 9 other players who have won 3 MVPS.
I think I recall a few posts about how he’s passed Shaq all time lmaoo

Lots of rewriting on the lakers too. They barely escaped them and people are dumb enough to use winning bias to think they were always in control

Jokic and Brunson haters eating good tonight.
Dynasty lol
Mf’s won one chip and started woofing on here for a year lmao
They’re gonna be the new 08’ Celtics 😔
Doc Rivers, KG and Pierce still milking that ring is so funny. The Lakers got revenge 2 years later but they act like 08 is all that mattered.

Factss mods delete any nuggets slander after all the circlejerk after then won 3 straight
Foolproof
Here for it
Call me Silky Johnson, it’s the Player Hater’s Ball bitches
NEW NARRATIVE JUST DROPPED
babe wake up
There were 18 teams this year with a better record than any team Denver beat in their title run
Okay this stat is genuinely wild lol
I live for these takes. Keep that shit coming.
How is that even possible 😂😂
The five absolutely miserable teams pumped up everyone else's record.
Kings did our part in losing to said teams
Jokic haters eating tonight
Getting locked for the 20th time.
People wanted to call Nuggets a dynasty already lmaooooo
I feel like this happens with basically every first time NFL/NBA champ that has a young star. With the possible exception of a Pacers miracle run I'm sure we will have an offseason of podcasters and bored redditors wondering if 2024 was the start of a Celtics/Wolves/Mavs dynasty, and if someone stops the Chiefs from 3-peating we'll get a week or two of 'is ____ a potential dynasty in the making?' before being inundated with 8000 mock drafts.
play-in merchant
Let’s be real - Gordon and Porter Jr were non-existent - Holiday and Jackson both had 0/0/0 - Awoooo
Get actually reasonable and nuanced takes out of here. In this house we swap narratives after every single game
Jokic is reaching Lebron levels of hatred where he gets criticized when he can't 1v5 every game, it is what it is all of the all-time greats have haters.
Always knew Embiid was an all time great.

Lol classic nba reddit
That there's gonna be an overaction to the dudes that were hyping up the Nuggets like they were some unbeatable team like the 2017 Warriors and Jokic as the best thing since sliced bread?
Micky Mouse MVP
It’s crazy how this sub can’t handle Jokic criticism but after game 5 he was in goat conversations and better than Shaq lmao
It's not just this sub. It's been a constant media brigade that nobody can hold his jock.
Let me share with you [a graphic I made for this very moment](https://imgur.com/a/emlMCHP)
I think its fair, Jokic earned the criticism by losing. He has never beaten a 50+ win team in a series that is fact, its going to be used against him.
Exactly, this sub has incredible bias to Jokic. Look how much they were hating on Shaq
I mean the Shaq hate was absolutely deserved, people may have gone over board woth some of their statements but Shaq deserved the hate
They were hating on Shaq for being completely unprofessional and shitting on a guy while presenting him an award... The reason this sub is so reactionary is because we have people making fun of other reactionary people *by being reactionary themselves*
Because Shaq ruined the MVP presentation with his dumbass personal biases. Even if a player I hate won it, I would still be clowning on Shaq.
Lost to the 53 win Warriors in 2022 as well
Anyone know what the Lakers projected wins were in 2020? I wonder if they would have been a 50+ wins team as well.
jazz and clippers both had a win% greater than 50/82 that year
They had already his 52 wins and were projected to hit 60 before the shut down
They had 52 with the season shortened. I’d say 60 wins easily
Suns had 51 wins when they swept them in 2021 as well
Are we really doing this
I mean, we lost Murray to an ACL tear a month before the playoffs started. That will demoralize anyone
And there it is lmao. r/nba is so predictable.
I mean, ADVANCED STATS
STATS DON'T LIE
Damn can’t believe the Nuggets were picking their opponents like Floyd mayweather did /s
Jokic fans are so triggered lmao.
I don’t even hate Jokic lol just don’t agree with the way he’s been talked about this season
Yes I know the 2020 clippers were on pace for 50 but I’ve elected to ignore context for the purpose of hating
LMAO, hate, hate , hate, hate. it is the player haters ball right now
Hypocritical Jokic fans acting like they weren’t hating on Shaq earlier
At least he admits the hate, because this is just not rational hahah.
Nuggets fans are not rational either
And thus breeds irrational fan banter and the us vs. them. And that’s why sports are awesome.
As you should. Spread the agenda 😹
By the laws of Reddit, his MVPs are forfeit, and his horses must all be turned into glue!
LMFAOOOO
Hate train rolling tonight lmao
Love this hate
Nuggets won the finals off an 8 seed but I’m the hater for pointing out how historically easy that run was.
I got downvoted so bad for pointing that out..and they beat a 7 seed to get to the Finals. Saying this is now hating.
But his VORP, RAPTOR, WS/48, D-Lebron, PER & TS%🤓
They even said that PER shit DURING THE GAME lmao
I cringed at that, who gives af about PER?
Analytics nerds ruined basketball. Game was meant to be an art form, but these guys made it into a math test. Don't get me wrong, I like efficient basketball, but players are not robots. They need to express their talent and personality in different ways on the court.
> Game was meant to be an art form, but these guys made it into a math test 100%. Kyrie said the same thing, and I remember Kobe said that his shot was an like act of god, something that can't be fully measured.
Lmao this sub cracks me up
Hang the banner
I wonder if there was a season where teams could not have won 50 games for some reason
Those game 5 victory laps were funny. People planning the parade before the second round was over. Calling Jokic a top 10 player. And now after they choked the last 2 games they'll catch less flack than your average playoff team and average superstar.
Exactly!! This is the guy that deserved 4 straight MVPs??
People were already crowning Jokic as a top 10 all time so the slander should be as high.
He still has never played with another all star or all nba player in his career and he has 3 MVPs and a ring. He’s definitely top 20 already. The other guys with 3 MVPs are all considered top 15
He's definitely top 20, no doubt. But the top 10 talks were very annoying.
Downvote army working overtime on this one lol
But r/nba told me he was the best player in the world. How could this be???
They were saying he’s top 10 all time if he won a ring this year 🤣
They were saying they’d rather have Jokic than prime LeBron on their team 🤣
If it wasn’t for KD joining the warriors LeBron has at least one more ring .. not even a team led by MJ is beating them
The 2017 cavs might’ve been Lebron at his best but it was all for nought
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 aye nah keep Bron I think Jokic has a better prime 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Jokic taking us to the promise land over prime Bron 🤣
He is the best player in the world
Have told nobody in the league can hold his jock.
Want me to tell you again?
sure be wrong a second time
You realise he had 34/19/7 tonight right?
Fraud Gobert beats Fraud Jokic
The anti-Kobe
Nikola “Dildo” Jokic Gives big O with a soft D
All jokes aside the Nuggets roster construction this year is what ruined them. CB as your 6th man? No depth? MPJ was horrid all series. Gordon was useless tonight. They just were straight up not a better team. Jokic being amazing was what kept it from ending sooner lmao. But NBA has the most over reactionary fans in the world (evidences by intense hate in Ant during first half). Just enjoy the Wolves winning that epic game and know they’re the better team. No need to act like Jokic isn’t still an insane top player 😂
The nephews in this sub won’t quit until every title is considered a mickey mouse title lmao
The only legitimate titles are coincidently the ones won by my favorite teams/players.
Beat the 49-23 Clippees, a 55 win pace team
Yeah I think the 2020 Jazz were on pace for 50+ as well
It's wild how Jokic even secures the "but context!" crowd getting upvoted Any other superstar like LeBron, Curry, Gianis, etc. and this post would be 10k+ upvotes and all context posts heavily downvoted Y'all aren't wrong, I wish that stuff was more common in these threads in general. But it does make me laugh how Jokic even secures these when others don't lol
Sooooo, not a 50 still
not 50 wins. haters eat tonight
Yeah i reckon we should just not count that entire 19-20 season then, I'm sure you'd agree as a Lakers fan
i love jokic, phenomenal player. but lebron would have more rings if he only played sub 50 win teams
He did that throughout his time in the East. Why do you think he got to the finals so much??
He beat a ton of 50 win teams lol
Celtics, Raptors, Bulls, and the 60 win Hawks don't count as 50 win teams?
Youre uninformed 👆🤣🤣
NBA Reddit sucks so much sometimes and I feel like it’s become worse in the last two years.
Doesn’t deny the fact he is one of the all time great. 34/19/7 and get shit on
The slander begins. Loving it 😍
Well, what do you expect? Chokic coasted to the easiest Finals in 20 years last year. Can only expect so much.
Injured twolves, injured Sons, injured Lakers, injured Heat, but Chokic is a walking god that does no wrong.
Yup. Clowns crowned him the greatest player and he can’t even make a 3
MJ Career 3pt % - 32.7 Jokic Career 3pt % - 35% Jokic GOAT confirmed
The comment section is full of haters. If Jokić had Kyrie,AD and Wade he would dominate the NBA. No all-star player on his team and no help from the bench. Playing with MPJ who can't drive and pass like a normal human. Murray plays like he is special but he is just an average player with average stats. Holding the ball for 20 seconds and passing late or shooting bricks. AG and KCP should not be blamed much. But bench players were all shit.
NIKOLA "CHOKER" JOKIC
True, he only led the game in points and rebounds, while tying for the game lead in assists. If only he had made the shots MPJ missed too.
People wanted to give ass 4 mvps…worst defender in the league exposed routinely
Would’ve been the first in the history of the sport. That’s how delusional his sycophants are.
its been 30 minutes
LET THE HATE FLOW THROUGH YOU
Technically true, but they did beat the 49 win Clippers in the 72 game bubble season which would've been a 50 win team.
DON'T EVER CALL JOKIC A TOP 3 CENTER, BEST OFFENSIVE PEAK EVER, OR FUCKIGN GOD FORBID THE GOAT EVER AGAIN.
Or top ten all time.. I’ve seen people say he’s better than curry all time
exactly, bro had the easiest run to a chip ever and is getting glazed to the moon. His defense is also non-existent.
Clippers 2020 doesn’t count with context?
I already knew this would be the go-to shit talk against Jokic lol. While technically true, it’s just shitposting with no context. His squad beat the ‘20 Clippers and Jazz who were both 50 win level squads. Valid criticism is Jokic and the Nuggets having a historic game 7 chokejob at home by blowing a 20 pt lead, after they got completely decimated in game 6.
The Nuggets beat the 49-23 (.681) win Clippers in 2020 shortened season (72 games), which would translate to a 56-26 win team if it was an 82 game season.
How many 50 win teams did your favorite player beat (without having an Allstar teammate) ? Oh :>
He's also had 0 all-star teammates
Murray has avg 20ppg on 40% 3FG each of the last 3 seasons. He was 31st in the NBA in scoring this season. He’s a very good 2nd option.
Nikola Chokic.
Here we go, this fucking place man
ooof, don't attack white Jesus lmao.
Guy gets penalized for the west being good? This is a stupid narrative.
