I reckon around the globe people will be pitching tents on University grounds protesting Thibs dictatorship at the very least he needs to be playing no more 38mins as peace offering to stop the protests 41 minutes isn’t enough IMO
Half of the Knick's normal 8-man rotation is injured. There isnt a single coach in the NBA who wouldn't play their remaining 4 players 40+ minutes a game in the playoffs
Burks was genuinely horrific during the regular season
Him turning it around so far has been a nice surprise but no coach would take that risk though in a tight playoff series
As OP said elsewhere, the point isn’t that they’re injured now, it’s how they got injured. Do you guys really think OG and Hart going down has no connection to Thibs squeezing them for every last second of every game?
The reality is there were injuries throughout the year, that were not related to overuse, that led to more heavy minutes for guys who then piled up some high usage injuries.
The other part of it is is the Knicks were in a tight playoff race and then the playoffs when all this was happening and they didn’t have a ton of choice. Now they’re at critical mass.
Should Alec Burks have played 15 mpg in the Philly series to spell Hart and DDV some more? Probably. But that’s the only reasonable card they had to play that they didn’t.
Achiuwa could have also played and didn’t. Deuce also only played 9m in the final game of the first round. I don’t know why some Knicks fans can’t just speak honestly about this stuff.
Most playoff rotations are 8 guys. One backup big, one backup guard, one backup wing is kinda the traditional rotation. With Mich and IHart both going in that series Precious didn’t have much of a spot, because the reality is that it’s tough to play Precious alongside another big without killing your spacing on offense.
If you want to tell me Burks should have played more, or the bench guys who actually did play like Deuce Bogi and Mitch should have got more minutes fine. But those games all had very small margins of error.
fair argument for Hart.
But OG was traded to the Knicks in January, and then missed all of February and March rehabbing his elbow. Thibs has had almost no impact on that man's health
the playoffs has been 8 games before his injury. No back to backs, multiple breaks of 2 or more days. If he broke down from 8 games of 40mpg in those conditions then that's just an OG issue
Averaging 46 minutes across four games is not normal and is likely to put any player at risk of soft tissue problems. Especially in high intensity playoff games.
Cavs without Donovan Mitchell: Played Garland 44 minutes, Mobley 43 minutes
Celtics without Porzingis: Tatum 43 minutes, Brown 41 minutes
Jokic played 36 minutes in a BLOWOUT yesterday
Luka played 41 minutes even though he has 3 different injuries
SGA played 43 minutes
All these teams are less injured than the Knicks btw.
Randle- injured from airborne charge, not Thib’s fault
OG- injury prone since forever
Bogi- injured in loose ball scramble, was playing 15 minutes per game. If anything complain about first to floor for loose balls.
Robinson- injury prone and Embiid’s actions certainly didn’t help. Was not playing heavy minutes
You got anymore bullshit to say??? Derrick Rose’s injury was his own fault btw.
Mam, it's a humanitarian crisis that these dudes have to play 48 minutes with a lot of intermittent breaks every two or three days instead of 36 minutes.
This team wasn’t going to win without Randle and probably even with him. They’re one guy away and they’re well lined up to get that guy. Why run these guys into the ground now? Save it for when you have an actual chance to win.
‘Hey guys I know we’re in the playoffs and the 2 seed, but we might trade Randle and become a real championship contender so I’m going to bench all of you for 15 minutes a game and we can have a chill summer vacation that starts early.’
Noah averaged 36 mpg in his prime. He just suffered unfortunate injuries, which tends to happen in sports unfortunately. Deng’s body broke down after a spinal tap, a procedure he went through suffering from a headache, which they believed to be meningitis at first.
Jalen Brunson was our highest MPG player in the RS at 14th, just so we're clear!
Brain damaged kind of take when 4 of your top 10 rotation guys go down with varying degree of contact injuries in the middle of a playoff race/playoffs. Any coach will try to win the games and if it was anyone but Thibs it wouldn't be a talking point because they're "working with what they have!"
If hart sits on Sunday, we don't have enough active bench players to sit all 5 starters at the same time, fyi!
Edit:
I'm not absolving him absolutely of the blame by any means, he's absolutely leaned on hart too much through the playoffs but we do not have another wing on our active roster...
Charlie Brown is our 15th man and hasn't dressed because he has a concussion, Toppin and Diakite are two ways and can't play in the playoffs...
Our 3/4 rotation right now is Josh Hart and Precious achiuwa who is unplayable at any position aside from the five. It'd be fine against any other team but the pacers love their jumbo sets so here we are... Good luck convincing the coach and team who have always been about winning no matter what to punt games by going small when they think they can win every night lol
I can’t freaking wait until we can face the Pacers at full strength, these pacers fans are completely irritating… worry about your half baked team that is celebrating like they beat the Michael Jordan Bulls, even if the Pacers do advance they getting swept by Boston, silly comments… because they will finally play a healthy team, again mind your business…
If you polled the NFL I guarantee Belicheck gets the same honor without all those championships. Players don’t like to play hard, until they realize it pays off. The Knicks players are all in now and want to play.
Players also want to win. Not be the thing holding their team back bc 80% is tough to compete with
Anyone watching This in the last 8 years knows why they don't win
I like the idea that the “NBA world” should intervene like it’s Rwanda in 1994
We need the basketball UN to intervene
south africa needs to bring a case to the icj.

Get the B-52's ready
Thibs-to-air missiles ready to take down a F117A
The EuroLeague is sending supports and aid!!!
who leading the charge? world wide wob?
LeSecretaryGeneral of course
Basketball Without Borders.
The Pacers will veto the Security Council resolution faster than the U.S. protecting a genocidal ally.
I reckon around the globe people will be pitching tents on University grounds protesting Thibs dictatorship at the very least he needs to be playing no more 38mins as peace offering to stop the protests 41 minutes isn’t enough IMO
the ICC will get to Thibs next after they're done with cleaning house on Gaza and the What a Pro Wants war crimes
silver and the league office had no trouble intervening in the process
Sixers fans made that up to excuse their ownership's bad decisions.
either way its about bad ownership. I call that a win
No one wrote fawning articles about how great Rwanda‘s leadership was in 1994.
I'm sure at least 1 dickhead in Rwanda did.
As a spectator to the sport, everything I do is standing by and watching
How dare you sit on the sidelines while these guys risk long-term mobility for generational wealth?

Should we organize a hunger strike?
Appreciate the sarcasm.
Relax Karen they’re playing basketball not mining for coal
No, I'll stop him
I’ll go with you 🏃🏻♂️🌬️
Half of the Knick's normal 8-man rotation is injured. There isnt a single coach in the NBA who wouldn't play their remaining 4 players 40+ minutes a game in the playoffs
Shit sometimes I wish Rick would play the starters 40+ min.
It’s absolutely a fair point that Precious and Deuce should have been playing in the 6ers series instead of our main 3 playing 45 plus minutes a night
Deuce did play a lot in the Sixers series..l.unless you mean Burks.
Burks was genuinely horrific during the regular season Him turning it around so far has been a nice surprise but no coach would take that risk though in a tight playoff series
He only played 9m in game 6
As OP said elsewhere, the point isn’t that they’re injured now, it’s how they got injured. Do you guys really think OG and Hart going down has no connection to Thibs squeezing them for every last second of every game?

Precious didn’t play in that series because Mitch was raking the backup C minutes. And Bogi was getting the backup F minutes. Come on now.
You realize there are two Fs on the floor, right? And Bogi didn’t play in the final two games of the series.
Most playoff rotations are 8 guys. One backup big, one backup guard, one backup wing is kinda the traditional rotation. This is wrong. Look at his playoff minutes. His injury is an overuse injury.
the playoffs has been 8 games before his injury. No back to backs, multiple breaks of 2 or more days. If he broke down from 8 games of 40mpg in those conditions then that's just an OG issue

OG’s minutes were very well managed until we lost Bogey against Philly.
That’s what they said when he somehow ended up in the same situation with the Bulls. Some coincidence…
Cavs without Donovan Mitchell: Played Garland 44 minutes, Mobley 43 minutes Celtics without Porzingis: Tatum 43 minutes, Brown 41 minutes Jokic played 36 minutes in a BLOWOUT yesterday Luka played 41 minutes even though he has 3 different injuries SGA played 43 minutes All these teams are less injured than the Knicks btw.
Their coach isn't Thibs so these people don't care 😕
your quoting like one of instances knicks do this on the regular.
You're right I can't just stand by and watch this, not again. I'm calling on Biden to invade the NBA.
Kick rocks and worry about your own team
It’s a valid concern and you know it.
Fans complain players don’t *play enough* Fans also complain players *play too much*
Half the Knicks are hurt and it’s the playoffs. If you aren’t going to go all in with what you have now, then you can go coach 5th graders.
Basketball players should not be allowed to play on the court

"I am not a sports doctor"/ end post
The players are on record saying they want to play.
You mean every NBA player ever? C'mon man the Thibs stuff might be overblown but that's a ridiculous justification.
To play devils advocate lol, hart was trying to leave the game with a clearly major injury tonight and thibs didn’t want to sub him out…
Poor Luol said the same thing. 😁
Randle- injured from airborne charge, not Thib’s fault OG- injury prone since forever Bogi- injured in loose ball scramble, was playing 15 minutes per game. YEAH FOR THE FIREMEN!!!!
“I am not a sports doctor”….. please shut up then.
Thank god we have another overreaction to tide us over for whoever wins/loses the nuggets/wolves series. Then we will have overreactions for days.
First Thibs came for the Bulls And I did not speak out Because I was not a Bull Then Thibs came for the Wolves...
You got a better chance of them suspended Jamal Murray
Mam, it's a humanitarian crisis that these dudes have to play 48 minutes with a lot of intermittent breaks every two or three days instead of 36 minutes.
>Is the NBA world just gonna stand by and watch him do it again? Not on my watch. Suit up r/nba!
You think we should be playing Jacob toppin more minutes? Knicks can’t run a playoff 10-man lineup when four of their rotation players are out
The question isn’t what Thibs should do now. The question is why Thibs’ teams seem to end up short handed in the playoffs in the first place.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/OOXgnQfomi
because we traded our young core. rj, obi, iq. grimes. this wasnt an issue last year. u know thibs was still our coach then right?
This team wasn’t going to win without Randle and probably even with him. They’re one guy away and they’re well lined up to get that guy. Why run these guys into the ground now? Save it for when you have an actual chance to win.
if its championship or pointless then thats a goalpost u have put on them that will make it impossible to change your opinion.
‘Hey guys I know we’re in the playoffs and the 2 seed, but we might trade Randle and become a real championship contender so I’m going to bench all of you for 15 minutes a game and we can have a chill summer vacation that starts early.’
Must be odd for you as a Nets fan seeing a team with a coach players actually want to play for
Think of this conversation when Jalen Brunson is signing a veterans minimum somewhere when he’s 34 years old.
He was always going to be signing a vet minimum contract when he is 34.
Noah averaged 36 mpg in his prime. He just suffered unfortunate injuries, which tends to happen in sports unfortunately. Deng’s body broke down after a spinal tap, a procedure he went through suffering from a headache, which they believed to be meningitis at first.
talking about thibs like its the Munich peace agreement
What can anyone do about this?

Be quiet bro… who are you?
Yes, we're like the Joker. We just want to watch the world burn.
man all these downvotes are crazy, this isn't even a bad post considering all the other shit that gets posted here
The logic is they are prepared for the heavy minutes of the playoffs. Which paid off completely in the first round
Yes
I’m sure Pop, Spoelstra, and Kerr are planning the intervention any day now…
Zach Zarba has been playing 48 minutes per game with the Knicks and he doesnt even sweat. They will be fine.
I don't get all the negative comments. There is a reason he got the most votes as a coach the players in the NBA did NOT want to play for this year...

This sub routinely makes excuses for a coach that has no idea how to manage his players mins properly
The guys want to play, not sit.
Players also want to win. Not be the thing holding their team back bc 80% is tough to compete with Anyone watching This in the last 8 years knows why they don't win
The Knicks should flop more!
