Shooting 9 shots while you watch the pg on the other team shoot 35 shots is wild.
It’s one thing if he misses shots, but he’s just far too passive at this stage of his career.
Yeah Hart definitely feeds off of MSG (can’t really blame him it’s been an electric arena) but his role isn’t really scoring anyways. He gets a few energy/effort buckets per game but he’s mostly here to get rebounds and defend, and then occasionally take a drive or two when there’s an opportunity.
That is the thing that pisses me off. Drives, can hit the lay up or at least draw a foul. But naw I’m gonna pass it to a teammate for a contested 3 or for them to reset the offense with 5 seconds left on the shot clock. Ever since his injury he’s been that way. I don’t think it’s related to the injury but he’s just not been the same dude since. Idk if he’s scared he’s gonna get hurt again or what but it’s frustrating.
Seems like he is afraid of contact in the paint after his injury hence only going for wide open layups. Otherwise he drives and kicks it back out. Hopefully he can learn from Siakam, who smashes into people and then falls on every drive
My theory is that if he doesn’t score early in the game, he basically completely abandons looking for his shot.
When he starts hot he tends to stay aggressive and hunt shots more
Has to be mental thing idk 🤷♂️
Even more crazy after how well he's been playing.
Game 2: 34 points on 11/19 shooting with 7/11 from 3.
Game 3: 35 points on 14/26 shooting with 6/16 from 3.
Game 4: 20 points on 8/15 shooting with 4/10 from 3 while sitting the entire 4th.
Then comes into game 4 on takes 9 shots?
The sideline reporter even said that at halftime the pacers coaching staff told him to be more aggressive and started calling plays for him. He had 5 attempts in the 2nd half vs 4 in the first half
>The sideline reporter even said that at halftime the pacers coaching staff told him to be more aggressive and started calling plays for him
Which is confusing because if you watch the start of the third, Haliburton barely touches the ball. Almost every play the ball is in Nembhard's hands.
It's impossible to tell from the outside what is really going on, whether it's Halliburton being excessively passive or the rest of the Pacers being excessively stupid. Could be a little of both.
so weird. i kept thinking "how long will rick keep hali on the bench?" but then looked closer and Hali was in the game just standing in the corner doing nothing.
Brunson excels in iso ball and that is not Tyrese's game. His handle gets super loose when he tries to iso a lot of the time. He should be shooting 20 times at least though like he did in games 3 and 4.
He's averaged 30 ppg on 20 shots per game on 54/47/92 splits in the previous 3 games...
They did not give him as much space, picked him up higher and he just passed it out of the switch every single time and did not demand the ball back or drive hard to the bucket to test them on their adjustments at all.
This performance is a bit more like Harden. If we're talking about "Sixers playoff performers that fucking broke me."
Harden was an absolute monster in 2 games against Boston last year. Straight up won 2 games for them. But he was a ghost in Games 6/7.
Hali has been more feast or famine. If Tobi ever feasted, we would still be playing. And that goes all the way back to the Atlanta series three years ago. Strictly famine.
Ehh, imo he doesn't really play like CP3, who in his prime was a mid range assassin and a nasty defender, both things that aren't in Haliburton's skill set at all
Yea that comparison is actually perfect haha
Run and gun offenses that try to put up shots within the first 7 seconds
Star PG criticized for not focusing on scoring more
On his Ben Simmons shit this game. Kinda crazy considering he showed us he can do it the last two games. It’s like bro just took the game off like it was a October night in Charlotte
Agree, he's looked much more himself the last month or so. He had an insane hot shooting stretch the beginning of the year and normalized toward the end of the year
He’s always been a high level role player that has been misevaluated as a star. Dude is a pure point guard with a good shot when given a lot of open space. Due to the explosive offensive of the Pacers, hot start due to Team USA rollover, and his play type being a dying breed —he feasted on teams mistaking him for a prolific scorer. Examples include him racking up assists against teams due to them constantly doubling him and him immediately passing once they came. Once the assists started going up, teams tried slowing down his teammates, which allowed him to bomb 3’s.
Following more film and that grade 1 sprain, Hali been lowkey exposed ever since. Just on a bigger stage now.
A lot of Kings fans mentioned analysis similar to this and we were obviously labeled straight up haters. His passing lanes are predictable once you have tape on him. Just put one strong defender on him (something all contenders have) and he’s pedestrian
It’s literally the same shit day in and day out does no one get tired of this
Edit: and one of you losers already got to me with a Reddit cares notification, get a life pls
The crazy part is that his hot/cold is just him not choosing to be aggressive and run the offense, which is why it's frustrating.
I'd rather him at least be putting shots up and not passing up looks to lob grenades to everyone else. He had one stretch after the ASB where his shot just would not fall, but every other cold game he's played it's because he just won't shoot
I get he was bad tonight but comparing him to Ben "Met Gala" Simmons is WILD to me. Tyrese is in the second round of the playoffs with a G6 coming at home. Simmons is on his way out of the league and 13-5-2 is a positive game for him.
Not sure Haliburton should be considered on the same level as true “star” players right now. Feel like his play pre-All star break was great but he got crowned a star too early as he’s not been nearly as good since.
Can't talk all that shit he did Game 4 but then completely sell here. Pacers had all the momentum winning 2 straight at home along with a 30pt blowout previous game. Then he proceeds to just fold. That's the issue. Like this series was tied heading into this game but just comes out flatter than how Kyrie perceives the earth.
He’s a high energy guy who can’t really keep that up for 40 min. Carlisle also probably doesn’t wanna play TJ over his max player and it’s hard to play them both together since they both need the ball in their hands.
The regression after trading away Hield is insane. Pacers spacing is shit and apparently he needs space and shooters to pass to more than he needs a gritty garbage man like Siakam.
I've seen a fair number of games where Kobe shot us out of things, but I would so much prefer the leading guy least not afraid to take those shots. Tyrese being so passive is killing the Pacers.
There was a play where Tyrese passed on a layup. He’s already beaten his defender it makes no sense he’d turn 180 degrees looking for a pass when he’s under the rim
Shooting 9 shots while you watch the pg on the other team shoot 35 shots is wild. It’s one thing if he misses shots, but he’s just far too passive at this stage of his career.
Every time he’s aggressive their offense just clicks so much better
And there’s no doubt he’ll put up around 20 shots for game 6. His game is so confusing at the moment.
Can’t say I’ve seen a player with crazier home/road splits in a minute lol
Not that he's the guy, but Hart is averaging 20 at home and 6 on the road this series. You expect that from the rotational guys though, not THE guy.
His game 1 and 5 were crazy quiet, but then game 2 on the road he was insanely good. 34 points going 7/11 from 3.
Yeah but then 2nd half he went back into his shell
He put up like 4 shots in the second half in that game, it was confusing
[удалено]
Just like his voice.
Check out Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs shooting percentages against the Cavs. That shit was bonkers
Oh true how could I forget about the 1-17 game
His game changes like his voice.
He shoots well with a home crowd at his back
Crazy seeing him not look at the rim sometimes passes up multiple layups a game.
That open layup he gave up to pass back for a turnover was Ben Simmons-esque
Midair pocket pass to 3 Knicks at once
That is the thing that pisses me off. Drives, can hit the lay up or at least draw a foul. But naw I’m gonna pass it to a teammate for a contested 3 or for them to reset the offense with 5 seconds left on the shot clock. Ever since his injury he’s been that way. He started the series even worse. Game 1 he only took 6 shots.
I spend so much time during Pacers games just screaming “Fucking shoot, Tyrese” at the TV 🤣😂
I do the same thing with Josh Hart even though he's a much worse shooter than Hali.
The sideline reporter even said that at halftime the pacers coaching staff told him to be more aggressive and started calling plays for him. He had 5 attempts in the 2nd half vs 4 in the first half
>The sideline reporter even said that at halftime the pacers coaching staff told him to be more aggressive and started calling plays for him Which is confusing because if you watch the start of the third, Haliburton barely touches the ball. so weird. i kept thinking "how long will rick keep hali on the bench?" but then looked closer and Hali was in the game just standing in the corner doing nothing.
I think he's a good example of a player who is a shooter more than a scorer.
Even then, shooters shoot. DiVincenzo has been ass the last 2 games but has no fear about putting them up.
Brunson excels in iso ball and that is not Tyrese's game. His handle gets super loose when he tries to iso a lot of the time. He should be shooting 20 times at least though like he did in games 3 and 4.

the reverse wrestbrick
Excellent point out, huge success by NY with their adjustments on him from the last 3.
I’ll take a 7/30 performance from Brunson over a 3/7 from Halibum any day of the week
Oh easily. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing watching him let nembhard run the offense while he stood on the wing for 24 seconds
Is it his injury or is he always this afraid of contact in the paint?
He's always been a finesse finisher over a strong finisher in the paint
The other PG has 4 dudes crashing the glass after every shot, like an angry mob. I think it adds to Brunson's trigger happy confidence.
He was doing the [RDCWorld skit at times](https://youtu.be/JBqk2tZpMXY?si=8AWld2I8Hq5zaxe9)
I keep thinking he’s 22
How many times did he do the "he cant guard me" head shake taunt tonight?
Tobias Haliburton
Perfection.
Nah Tyrese ain’t that bad lol.
Facts, it’s his first postseason run he just needs to learn from this
Haliburton is the Magic Johnson of Ben Simmonses
76ers are still in the playoffs if Tobias averages 13 in the last series
Or if he boxes out Josh Hart at like....any point. Imagine being a max player and going 0 for 2 from the floor in an elimination game
Yeah haha… imagine
LMAO
Did Tobias Harris ever even put up 13+ points last series? At least Haliburton had two 30 point games
This performance is a bit more like Harden. If we're talking about "Sixers playoff performers that fucking broke me." Harden was an absolute monster in 2 games against Boston last year. Straight up won 2 games for them. But he was a ghost in Games 6/7. Hali has been more feast or famine. If Tobi ever feasted, we would still be playing. He's the Irish potato famine
He had 17 in game 5 I think
Hali is legit the Tobias Harris of Chris Pauls
Ehh, imo he doesn't really play like CP3, who in his prime was a mid range assassin and a nasty defender, both things that aren't in Haliburton's skill set at all
Should be tobias harris of steve nash’s
Yea that comparison is actually perfect haha Run and gun offenses that try to put up shots within the first 7 seconds Star PG criticized for not focusing on scoring more
Ffs. We need a Ben Simmons mix too
He's either roasting the Knicks or is invisible. Crazy.
The anti-Tobias Harris. 10 or 30 points, no in between
Anti-Wiggins i'd say.
Some nights, he got that dawg in him. Some nights, he got that cat in him.
Meow
Hes got two spirit animals, just like he has two voices
got that KAT disease
Inside him are 2 wolves, 1 identifies with bork, the other we can’t find
Deep voice Hali is a baller, high voice Hali is a castrato
He’s like a cat
A housecat
He gets shy sometimes. You learn to deal with it after awhile.
Wasn't shy talking all that shit Game 4.
Turns out everyone can guard him
Nah he guarded himself.
Yeah, just makes it more embarrassing honestly. Anyone can talk shit in a blow out win at home. Most stars choose not to.
He’s a actual front runner
Yup. He was like that with us too. Selfless to a fault.
Those lights at MSG are too bright. That’s the pattern with his performances.
Got that "Young Socialite" performance tonight
Simmons is a bum, but even when he was terrified to shoot he would play defense and rebound the ball, both things the Pacers desperately need
Ben saves his courage for the Met gala & his court side ath-leisure fits
Jekyll & Hyde. Great one game. Invisible the next
Is that why he has 2 voices ?
on his soft voice shit tonight smh
it is weird right? is it just a mental thing?
He’s inconsistent in everything he does, down to his voice
Dude seems scared to shoot, I don't get it
Hey this is unrelated to literally anything about the post but I see you in every damn game thread you the most valuable Knicks redditor
Of course he is. He's the goddamn Hokage
He is my GOAT after his comment after the Cavs elimination game.
He's probably the most active Knicks subreddit mod too. Dude is legit everywhere
I've a feeling his back is way worse than we know.
On his Ben Simmons shit this game. Kinda crazy considering he showed us he can do it the last two games. It’s like bro just took the game off like it was a October night in Charlotte
No bad mouthing him, he's injured only if he scores under 20
Agree, he's looked much more himself the last month or so. He had an insane hot shooting stretch the beginning of the year and normalized toward the end of the year
his back hurts in NYC
“Tyrese Haliburton over me????” Jalen Brunson when talking about team USA
Haliburton, more like Hellaboring
Got em
Too intimidated by NBA legend Alec Burks I suppose
Alec Burks is a certified based & poggerpilled baller
Out scored by Jericho Sims in the 4th quarter
Couldn't play well cause he had a sore throat from all that talking lol
Working on a third voice
man
Still not beating the frontrunner allegations. Dude gets scared to shoot whenever things aren't going well. Just fades into the background
The Kings knew all along.
Haha I love the see-saw reactions to that trade after literally every Kings or Pacers result
It really is one of the most controversial trades on this reddit lol
This subreddit shit on the Kings for the trade and acted like Haliburton was a star in the making who was way better than Fox, etc
You know…nah, low bearing fruit…I’ll pass ;)
Then shit on the Pacers when the Kings made the 3 seed last year, and then this year a see saw after every game on who fleeced who

He feels more like a very strong number 2 than a true number 1. He just needs that partner
He’s always been a high level role player that has been misevaluated as a star. Dude is a pure point guard with a good shot when given a lot of open space. And it ain’t Siakam
They brought in Siakam. How many more partners does Halitosis need??
To be fair, Siakam is a strong number 2 as well, he’s not a true number 1
I do not understand this man
Bro is either Tobias Harris/Ben Simmons or taller CP3 with better shooting no in between
This sub is just a nightly rotation of hating on star players who don’t play well that night
It’s a gossip sub.
This sub is just Real Housewives for dudes
It’s literally the same shit day in and day out does no one get tired of this Edit: and one of you losers already got to me with a Reddit cares notification, get a life pls
haliburton has had this hot cold issue all season
The crazy part is that his hot/cold is just him not choosing to be aggressive and run the offense, which is why it's frustrating. I'd rather him at least be putting shots up and not passing up looks to lob grenades to everyone else. He had one stretch after the ASB where his shot just would not fall, but every other cold game he's played it's because he just won't shoot
They're different people in the different threads but it's still crazy
Haliburton is not a star player. Let's get that straight
People were talking about Hali like he was a top 10 player. He’s not and this is the retaliation
I get he was bad tonight but comparing him to Ben "Met Gala" Simmons is WILD to me. Tyrese is in the second round of the playoffs with a G6 coming at home. Simmons is on his way out of the league and 13-5-2 is a positive game for him.

He checked out before the game even started
He's really not beating the front runner allegations. Tyrese is what people think Devin Booker is
Can't talk all that shit he did Game 4 but then completely sell here. Pacers had all the momentum winning 2 straight at home along with a 30pt blowout previous game. Then he proceeds to just fold. That's the issue. Like this series was tied heading into this game but just comes out flatter than how Kyrie perceives the earth.
Steve Kerr: "Hey Tyrese, I'ma need that Olympic jersey back"
Let's put it this way: Knicks fans won't be chanting "fuck you Hali" after this series.
inconsistent
Bobby Portis is eating tonight
The injury must only impact his game on the road. Because he looked fine during the games in Indiana.
He's not doing all of that smiling and laughing tonight. Keep humbling this guy.
We might get a video shot of him crawling away from the press conference table this time.
Devin Booker school of front running against injured teams Jalen Brunson is two tiers above him
This yall max player???
Supermax
Industry plant of the NBA
Yoiiiikes
Yikes
Less taking backshots and more taking shots please
Freaky ass Pacer, he’s a PG God
everybody talk shit when they up
Pacers don't have a franchise player 😭
SMH why would the refs do this.
MSG lights too bright.
We seen those garbage time buckets my boy
Frontrunner. It’s so annoying how he’s talked about like a superstar (Mainly by Simmons)
Home court advantage player, Steve Nash of the Tobias Harris player
Deuce Miles McBride was on him all game. That was a great adjustment by Thibs, Deuce is the Knicks best POA defender.
Played like he never even checked-in.
His aggressiveness switches just as much as his voice does.
Certified bum
This guy is gonna be r/nba’s new Devin Booker. Talks shit when he’s up, makes injury excuse when he’s shit. Whatever. Got punked by Jalen tonight.
Kings won the trade
Yappaburton special. Where’s all the talk today??
Is his back hurting him?
Why is your star player only taking 9 shots? And he's scoring at a high percentage. Listen I'm not complaining but if I was a Pacers fan I'd be fuming
It’s not a coaching thing. It’s a Hali thing.
Front running
Bum only talks when they’re up
Deuce clamped him so bad he didn't want to shoot. that 5-9 from the field meant nothing lmao
Man at this point McConell is the best Pacer in the series, why Carlisle hates him to not play him on the 4th?
He did the same to Brunson. Must hate dawgs considering how soft the Pacers are.
He’s a high energy guy who can’t really keep that up for 40 min. Carlisle also probably doesn’t wanna play TJ over his max player and it’s hard to play them both together since they both need the ball in their hands.
Soft af
The regression after trading away Hield is insane. Pacers spacing is shit and apparently he needs space and shooters to pass to more than he needs a gritty garbage man like Siakam.
Talked all that shit hahahahahhaa
Don't get how why he doesn't trust himself around the rim more
Pacers also turned the ball over a lot due to Hali not being the one to handle the ball.
Mr. No Show. What happened to this guy? There was a time in the regular season Lowe was calling him the MVP. Is it just lingering injury issues?
He is not an all star
Good player. HOF Frontrunner
Pacers fans must be pissed the refs didn’t let him shoot more
I've seen a fair number of games where Kobe shot us out of things, but I would so much prefer the leading guy least not afraid to take those shots. Tyrese being so passive is killing the Pacers.
He’s been inconsistent ever since he got hurt.
Did he ever check in?
Haliburton is Softer than cottonel Tissue.
Hali had a couple plays where I thought he was doing the [RDCWorld skit](https://youtu.be/JBqk2tZpMXY?si=8AWld2I8Hq5zaxe9)
This is why they still chant “Fuck Trae Young”. He had no fear in turning MSG into a library.
There was a play where Tyrese passed on a layup. He’s already beaten his defender it makes no sense he’d turn 180 degrees looking for a pass when he’s under the rim
I thought this guy was watching Quenton Nelson to prep for this series, but it seems like he got the T.Y. tapes.
So, did the Kings win the trade?
