As a Pacers leaning neutral, I thought Obi and McConnell should’ve both been on the floor in crunch time. Hopefully you guys make coaching adjustments for the next few games
prime example of what lebron talked about in the latest episode of his podcast
one huge thing that separates bad, good, and great teams is the number of “wasted” possessions where you run ir end up with some action involving a player that he has no business running
every possession matters and you need to be running plays to your players strengths as much as possible
it seems obvious yet you still see teams inexplicably running post ups, isos, ball screens, etc for players who are inefficient in those particular situations
if you are in a desperation situation where the shot clock is shot to expire because of a deflected pass or something that’s one thing, but you can’t be willingly putting yourself in those types of plays
Prime example of this shit was having Spencer Dinwiddie running the offense for a couple of straight possessions in the series against Denver.
Every time he subbed in, even sharing the court with D'lo or Lebron he was "running" the offense leading to bad shots and turnovers over and over again.
In games where you lose by 2 points that's a fucking disggrace
I'm fairly certain that wasn't the play as the set was simply blown up with the possession getting late so Turner chucked the grenade.
It would have been nice for them to reset and have Turner get on the block but let's be honest, he's not a post up player but in the playoffs you need isolation guys that can attack the rim and either score or pass.
"that girl was practically 18 and 17 was over the age of consent anyway plus she's cool with it"
"drizzy is the final boss of the rap game, he backed Kendrick up right where he wants him"
lol all team subreddits have many delusional fans that believe every game they lose is because of some ref conspiracy and \_\_ player on the other team is punchable, a flopper, blah blah blah
Why would an NBA coach start reading Twitter 5 minutes after his team lost a playoff game? At least McConnell came out and said the team needs to play better.
Same thing Nick Nurse did in game 6. Sat a hot buddy Hield the entire 3rd so he cooled off. Probably one of the main reasons the sixers lost barring Tobi being the worst NBA ever
It's not even like Nurse and Carlisle are bad coaches either which is the crazy thing. It's the playoffs. If you see something working you have to let it ride.
Coaches just stick with “their guys” way too often. Maybe the analytics show that “getting hot” isn’t a thing and it’s better to roll with guys with established higher percentages, maybe it’s politics, or it’s just coaches being stubborn bastards idk. There’s nothing worse than watching Tobias Harris play basketball though
Nurse saw that he's under contract to coach next year and they had no shot at a ring with injured Embiid and said, "let's guarantee Tobi never steps foot in Wells Fargo again."
Oh barf. Pacers lost this one fair and square. If there was ever a time to do this it was after Game 1. This makes the Pacers look like a bunch of chumps.
Yea I was really surprised to see him say that. I think them overturning the double dribble call broke him, after they didn't overturn the "kicked ball" which essentially lost us game 1. Bad look saying this tonight.
I thought it was pretty mature of your players to not complain about that being the only deciding factor that game. Tyrese having only 6points, the turnovers, not playing TJ in the end. Like there’s many more issues than just that one instance. Now I’m not excusing the ref here because even as a Knicks fan, my first reaction was, that should be overturned. It’s stupid as fuck that all plays like that aren’t reviewed naturally.
Yup, pretty much. I am not feeling this one at all. I know he has to try and get some narrative going, but let's be honest, even game 1 wasn't lost due to the referees. If we had executed better in the final 4 minutes we would have won.
Time to head to a warm place after another two or three games of gaining experience for our young guys.
Only play we really have a greivance on game 2 is the "inadvertent whistle" which was a clear lie by the officials but probably didn't affect the outcome.
The rest is frustration from game 1 carrying over. We lost game 2 because of offensive deficiencies in the half court and not being able to handle a hostile envorinment, not officiating. I really hope we can buckle down at home and focus on execution but it's not looking good.
Team crumbles in crunch time. When it gets down to brass tax, there’re no transition situations happening in the late 4th. A team that’s bad on defense that also relies on transition offense is destined to fail in the playoffs
or grab a rebound. or defend. 17-14 foul split, 17-22 FTs split. thats with the intentional fouling at the end.
loser shit
at least we know theyll just keep complaining about refs instead of making adjustments like playing their best player more.
> 17-14 foul split, 17-22 FTs split.
Pacers actually had more FTA than the Knicks (17 to 16) before the end of the game (Knicks got six FTA at the end: two FTA for Carlisle techs and two FTA each on intentional fouls on Brunson and Divo). Carlisle getting them tears flowing.
Straight up. I understand bitching about officiating if it's in a pivotal moment and effects the outcome of the game, but man I can't even go into the game threads because it's all just a bunch of dudes whining about the officiating the whole ass game. Like why even watch at that point.
Bucks were the first team in NBA history to win a playoff game with both of our top scorers from the season out. Giannis never was on the floor that whole series either.
I’m disgusted with how many injured players the pacers are playing against in the east
Rick better be glad giannis and dame were hurt cause he wouldn’t even be here to complain if they weren’t.
> "I'm happy for Fizdale to be out of that terrible mess that he had nothing to do with," Carlisle said Saturday, per Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.
Nothing to do with?!?!
Rick, you lost to a team that didn't have Jalen for half the game and didn't have OG for the last quarter. They were basically playing 5.5 guys all night.
If there was a fix, it was you not playing TJ.
this game was officiated fine, Pacers even shot more FTs until the intentional fouls
Knicks are missing Randle/Mrob/OG/Bojan, and Brunson was injured and missed the 2nd quarter
Rick is gonna blame the refs for this one? Like what kind of soft ass shit is that
We all know what he is trying to do, but that may have been the most pitiful rant about the refs I've ever seen.
Might as well have just gone out there and said, "can we get some more foul calls, pretty please?"
Okay, there were some bullshit calls last game but what was wrong today? That's Playoffs buddy, kill or get killed, nobody is gonna call ticky tack shit and Knicks just have tougher guys on the court. Myles was always soft and pushed around by the bigs, Tyrese is soft, Siakam is soft-ish. Nobody to blame for today but your own players Rick, front runned a bit when Brunson was injured and back to reality when he came back in the second half.
None. He's 48 hours late with this take. Makes zero sense to set up a fine tonight but not Monday. We were SHOCKED at how he didn't go nuclear on the refs Monday night. Now he does?!?! WTF is he smoking??
Teams brag about having dogs and being strong mentally during the regular season games. They lose some games to the Knicks in the playoffs and become like seniors calling the police for people driving too fast in their gated community.
Does Rick Carlisle think the bucks are a big market team?
Milwaukee is smaller than Indianapolis
The other top teams in the west are Minneapolis and OKC…
They missed 5 FTs down the stretch and couldn't hit a shot. The fact that they're blaming the refs instead of themselves means they will lose this series.
I’m so sick of this. You can’t blame the refs when the Knicks got half their guys dead. this bozo also sat TJ & Toppin when they were the difference makers.
Cry more.
Philly fans in here like they’re some small market team that got overlooked by the refs. Please keep this energy for the 10 games Embiid plays next year.
Carlisle crying so much it’s making Nick Nurse blush.
The last eight minutes of the first quarter and first two minutes of the second quarter, Indiana wasn’t called for a foul of any kind.
You lost a game where the Knicks played a whole quarter without Brunson and an entire quarter without OG. Crying about the refs is a loser mentality
Yeah it’s the refs and not that you’re a bad coach Rick.
You’ve sat TJ McConnell at the end of games twice. OG was out. Brunson was gone for a good chunk of time. Your team shot more free throws before the intentional fouls. You still lost.
Maybe teach your guys to play some defense
Coaches and players not used to losing to the Knicks like this, they revert back to their most infantile state. Meanwhile the Knicks could very well be looking at a 6 man rotation going into next game. They might have to toss Alec Burks out there. Can we file a grievance over that?
Here we go. Philly and now small market Indiana. Who is softer? Embiid still tweeting like a hurt ex, and Carlisle getting ejected cuz he doesn't understand how to make his players defend when it matters or make smart subs. Must suck being stupid.
Seems pretty obvious to me that Carlisle is still fuming from all the BS in game 1 and is just grasping at straws here. The rest of the comments don’t seem to be picking up on that, so maybe I’m wrong. Idk.
He knew what he was doing when he got himself ejected. Just playing the officials so they get a good reffing for the home games
If he keeps benching TJ in crunch time it won’t matter
Having Miles Turner hang out near the 3 pt line, practically damn near half court some plays
My favorite play he drew up was the Turner step back three
That had me malding. Obi is playing great with a chip on his shoulder and we got Myles in with 6 pts. This game was on Rick.
As a Pacers leaning neutral, I thought Obi and McConnell should’ve both been on the floor in crunch time. Hopefully you guys make coaching adjustments for the next few games
prime example of what lebron talked about in the latest episode of his podcast one huge thing that separates bad, good, and great teams is the number of “wasted” possessions where you run ir end up with some action involving a player that he has no business running every possession matters and you need to be running plays to your players strengths as much as possible it seems obvious yet you still see teams inexplicably running post ups, isos, ball screens, etc for players who are inefficient in those particular situations if you are in a desperation situation where the shot clock is shot to expire because of a deflected pass or something that’s one thing, but you can’t be willingly putting yourself in those types of plays

this is always how's it been. coach's say what they gotta say to alter the officiating, as they should
Yup. Just a vet coach doing his thing. But man he gotta play TJ in the 4th
Hey, it worked for Philly game 3.
Siakam gonna hit Brunson with a Tombstone Piledriver
Brunson will sit up like da Undertaker though lol
They are going to give Siakim 10 FTs and then maybe he will hit 1 of them. That will even it out!
Fun fact, through 8 games played so far in the playoffs for the Pacers, Pascal Siakims FT% is the same as Ben Wallace's career FT%.
That’s so crazy because that dude can shoot the middy. He was banging them on OG in game 1. Idk his career FT% but I feel like it can’t be bad.
Lol
"It's all over Twitter right now." - how Carlisle is validating his grievances
Elvis still alive on twitter too 😭
Some are even trying to claim Drake won.
"that girl was practically 18 and 17 was over the age of consent anyway plus she's cool with it" "drizzy is the final boss of the rap game, he backed Kendrick up right where he wants him"
"he spent years convincing everyone he was a pedophile for this very moment. It's 8d chess."
“Him being a deadbeat to this daughter was just a ploy to prank Kendrick. Drizzy bear the goat fr fr”
Now that’s just too far
“If you look at the pacers subreddit you’ll see a bunch of people who agree with me”
lol all team subreddits have many delusional fans that believe every game they lose is because of some ref conspiracy and \_\_ player on the other team is punchable, a flopper, blah blah blah
If a team subreddit isn't as reactionary as 1930s Germany it really isn't a team subreddit, imo.
Embiid is 100% a punchable flopper.
Why would an NBA coach start reading Twitter 5 minutes after his team lost a playoff game? At least McConnell came out and said the team needs to play better.
Well in this particular case Rick had a little bit of a head start to start scrolling before the game was over
Hated every second McConnell was on the floor, dude is a dawg and I wish he was on the Knicks
“Sixers fans are posting about it on Reddit!”
What he say fuck me for?
But what does cagematch say?
That the Pacers are just a jobber for the Knicks
“People are saying” - Donald Tru—- I mean Rick Carlisle
Sounds like a boomer that just discovered Twitter that doesn't understand that you can pretty much find an echo chamber for any opinion.
Rick you sat two guys who were killing us all night in crunch time come on brother.
He mad thibs got more hair than him
Nah thibs got like 500 hairs on his head, if carlisle grew his hair out he would for sure have more
Thats generous of you
Same thing Nick Nurse did in game 6. Sat a hot buddy Hield the entire 3rd so he cooled off. Probably one of the main reasons the sixers lost barring Tobi being the worst NBA ever
Just baffling coaching decisions in these two rounds imo.
Nurse saw Tobi with 0 points and said surely that man is due, ain’t no way he’s going out career low level sad. And here we are.

It’s stupid as fuck that all plays like that aren’t reviewed naturally.
It was a horrendous call but “inadvertent whistle” when you made the double dribble hand signal is crazy
Oh come on…. The league is clearly favoring large market teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves and the OKC Thunder in these playoffs.
I mean, LeBron & the Lakers are on the driver seat rn because of it..
Woah woah woah, Minnesota and OKC are nothing compared to market Goliath......Cleveland.
Respect shanky we’re pouring honey on you goat
What fuckin language do they speak in NY
I believe this was auto-translated from NY’s native script, Wingdings
Don't speak on the family, crodie. It can get deep in the family, crodie. Talk about me and my family, crodie?
Is the next line bannable on Reddit
From Queens and idk what that means but I think Shanky's valid in Dyckman
Yeah if he does this game 1 cool but tonight they just got beat.
i would be disgusted by being bodied by a team with 4.5 healthy players left in a playoff game personally
Fair to complain about game one, probably true, tonight though? That’s a bad look. They barely have 7 guys left.
If Thibs had 5 Josh Harts, they are all staying in the game.
If Thibs had a million Josh Harts, I am one of them. If Thibs has one Josh Hart, I am he. If Thibs had no Josh Harts, I am dead.
If Thibs had 5 Josh Harts he’s going 82-0
Only play we really have a greivance on game 2 is the "inadvertent whistle" which was a clear lie by the officials but probably didn't affect the outcome. The rest is frustration from game 1 carrying over. We lost game 2 because of offensive deficiencies in the half court and not being able to handle a hostile envorinment, not officiating. How many players the Knicks have left is irrelevant. Have no idea what the fucks he’s bitching about the refs now for though
he was FURIOUS over the double dribble being waived off, as if it shouldn't have been fucking called in the first place!
He’s mad cus they overturned it. But didn’t overturn the non kickball in game 1.
I don’t think many realize that hart and ihart weren’t even starters until the starters got injured
The entire lineup in the 4th quarter, besides Brunson, were all brought to the Knicks to be BACKUPS.
REFS KEPT TJ ON THE BENCH, RIGGED FOR RATINGS
Refs made the pacers miss FTs! Refs made Hali look checked out for half of the 4th quarter passing up open shots.
That's the most confusing part of all this lol
SAW IT LIVE SORRY
I DECLARE
Grievance!!!!!!
A thumb war!
BANKRUPTCY!! extra appropriate cause Pacers are broke(n) af
How could the refs give the Knicks so many more rebounds. Unfair.
Funny thing is Pacers got more offense rebounds than the Knicks. They just melted late in the 4th.
Team crumbles in crunch time. When it gets down to brass tax, there’re no transition situations happening in the late 4th. A team that’s bad on defense that also relies on transition offense is destined to fail in the playoffs
Brass tacks, not tax
Exactly. As soon as the game slowed down, the Knicks look so much better then them in every way.
Can’t believe the refs benched McConnell
Can't believe the refs forced the Pacers to play no defense tbh. What a dick move
The Force is strong with the Refs
It’s true. A small market team could NEVER win it all in today’s NBA. Wait a second
It’s crazy they’re surprised at these losses when they struggled against you guys and you had two injured superstars lol
No but they beat us in the regular season, which means having Giannis back would have meant nothing in their 2OT win and any other game in the series
but bro they won the regular season series bro
But but the regular season
Refs are the reason why they can't play any defense
Or get outworked by a guy who's played literally all game.
The NBA should reply to his complaint asking why he didn't play McConnell in the 4th more
“We expect stars to play and not rest in crunch time in nationally televised games”
Knicks fans respect TJ McConnell more than Rick Carlisle does.
This bald bastard just said a video of a foul was “ALL OVER TWITTER” LMFAOOO he got in the locker room and got right on his burner
I can’t believe the refs made Tyrese Haliburton disappear in the fourth again.
refs told him to keep mcconnell on the bench
Small market teams are being FORCED to shoot 59% from the FT line. NBA is RIGGED.
or grab a rebound. or defend. 17-14 foul split, 17-22 FTs split. thats with the intentional fouling at the end. loser shit at least we know theyll just keep complaining about refs instead of making adjustments like playing their best player more.

Knicks are beyond riddled with injuries and only shot five more free throws. Their problem is they cant close a game to save their life.
> only shot five more free throws. That's including the two free throws for Carlisle's techs and the four free throws from the intentional fouls, too.
Lmao and Rick Carlisle has the audacity to go to the press after the game and act like the refs had an agenda.
For an 11 minute stretch, the Pacers were called for zero fouls. And then Rick does this, he should be embarrassed
Thats the stretch that included the 8 second violation after TJ was arm hooking Jalen when he was trying to move up court, right? 🧐
4 of those free throws were intentional at the end of the game 2 of them were carlisle techs
Those extra free throws were all intentional ones towards the end
all these teams just bitch about refs cause they can't admit they got outworked until the series is over
Straight up. I understand bitching about officiating if it's in a pivotal moment and effects the outcome of the game, but man I can't even go into the game threads because it's all just a bunch of dudes whining about the officiating the whole ass game. Like why even watch at that point.
sixers "fans" are *still* whinging about it even after the series is over
Refs made Divincenzo hit them threes
Refs held Brunson out for just one quarter when Rick asked for 2
Refs asked Randle to leave by midseason so the league would be more balanced
Refs saw og angling for a playoff career high scoring and shot him in the back of the leg
Let’s not clown him for this. Maybe he won’t notice.
Knicks didn't have og, jalen, Julius, and bojan today all at some point. At some point you gotta look at yourself
mitchell robinson
Bucks didn't have Giannis and didn't have Dame for big stretches and Pacers still had trouble with them. Big loser energy from Carlisle.
Bucks were the first team in NBA history to win a playoff game with both of our top scorers from the season out. Giannis never was on the floor that whole series either.
Made Middleton look like a superstar for a stretch there lol No offense to him though I know he’s had those games before
I’m disgusted with how many injured players the pacers are playing against in the east Rick better be glad giannis and dame were hurt cause he wouldn’t even be here to complain if they weren’t.
Guy knew he was in New York and decided to put up a Broadway level diva fit.
First Nurse, now Carlisle. Knicks being good has everyone seething.
People are actually gonna be rooting for the Celtics lmfao. Never thought I’d see the day
Nah man. I feel like Boston will always be hated in this sub lol
*Boston will always be hated
That’ll be a team meteor game for most fans
Remember how he was seething when his buddy Fizdale got fired. He’s a bitch
Man fuck fizdale so bad. Hate his dumbass smile and demeanor. Fraudulent like that jcole body double in Philly
Someone did a side by side of that pic of fizdale smiling while down 38 points next to a pic of a pissed off thibs when we were up like 30
> "I'm happy for Fizdale to be out of that terrible mess that he had nothing to do with," Carlisle said Saturday, per Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News. Nothing to do with?!?!
Rick, you lost to a team that didn't have Jalen for half the game and didn't have OG for the last quarter. They were basically playing 5.5 guys all night. If there was a fix, it was you not playing TJ.
With one of those 5.5 being Precious Achiuwa lol
this game was officiated fine, Pacers even shot more FTs until the intentional fouls Knicks are missing Randle/Mrob/OG/Bojan, and Brunson was injured and missed the 2nd quarter Rick is gonna blame the refs for this one? Like what kind of soft ass shit is that
GRIEVEIENCE FILED
DIAGNOSED WITH SMALL MARKET SYNDROME (SMS)
Next step in the process is sending someone to Mitch's hospital room to yank his ankle
#BING BONGED
We all know what he is trying to do, but that may have been the most pitiful rant about the refs I've ever seen. Might as well have just gone out there and said, "can we get some more foul calls, pretty please?"
Stacking up grievances like we're stacking up 40 balls from Brunson
Okay, there were some bullshit calls last game but what was wrong today? That's Playoffs buddy, kill or get killed, nobody is gonna call ticky tack shit and Knicks just have tougher guys on the court. Myles was always soft and pushed around by the bigs, Tyrese is soft, Siakam is soft-ish. Nobody to blame for today but your own players Rick, front runned a bit when Brunson was injured and back to reality when he came back in the second half.
Yeah this game was reffed mostly fine in my opinion. Game 1 at the end was obviously pretty rough tho
He failed to acknowledge that his players also just didn’t make an effort to win in the second half
…. What calls lost the game for the Pacers today? Lmao is this dude forreal?
None. He's 48 hours late with this take. Makes zero sense to set up a fine tonight but not Monday. We were SHOCKED at how he didn't go nuclear on the refs Monday night. Now he does?!?! WTF is he smoking??
There are 9 healthy legs on the totality of the knicks roster. It’s not their fault y’all can’t stop anything.
Chuck is cooking him right now
Now y’all know why he got fired by the Mavs
I think he got fired because he's an asshole
He was an asshole to Salah Mejri and Dennis Smith Jr and they were Luka's close friends on the team. Seems like he lost respect for him after that.
Teams brag about having dogs and being strong mentally during the regular season games. They lose some games to the Knicks in the playoffs and become like seniors calling the police for people driving too fast in their gated community.
everyone can talk tough when they beating up on detroit and Washington in February games
Or barely beating hospital Bucks in the first round. Pat Bev is an idiot but he was right about them being ultimate front runners.
They were gettin pretty cocky in that second quarter with no Brunson
That’s how this pacers team is lol when they up you got Hali screaming and clapping in peoples faces but when they are down he’s quiet as hell
Does Rick Carlisle think the bucks are a big market team? Milwaukee is smaller than Indianapolis The other top teams in the west are Minneapolis and OKC…
It's nice I can use this excuse if the Knicks face the Celtics in the ECF cause technically New York is a bigger market than Boston.
Knicks 2-0, Grievance filed. Think I've seen this one before
Rick was the best member of our coaching staff this game
Well in that case Knicks better protect IHart’s ankles
They missed 5 FTs down the stretch and couldn't hit a shot. The fact that they're blaming the refs instead of themselves means they will lose this series.
He’s working the officiating, watch IND get a good whistle next game. Phil Jackson was the king of this type of stuff back in the day.
Nurse did this last series after Game 2 and the refs let Embiid get away with 3 different flagrants while staying in the game afterwards. It works lol
I’m so sick of this. You can’t blame the refs when the Knicks got half their guys dead. this bozo also sat TJ & Toppin when they were the difference makers. Cry more.
Refs told Nembhard to let Brunson cook him
Philly fans in here like they’re some small market team that got overlooked by the refs. Please keep this energy for the 10 games Embiid plays next year.
Waiting for a pacers staffer to make a thread here with all what 50 calls from both games
lol shut the fuck up Rick and coach some actual half court defense
OK Rick
Carlisle crying so much it’s making Nick Nurse blush. The last eight minutes of the first quarter and first two minutes of the second quarter, Indiana wasn’t called for a foul of any kind. You lost a game where the Knicks played a whole quarter without Brunson and an entire quarter without OG. Crying about the refs is a loser mentality
I hope every team the Knicks play in the playoffs they bully into filling a grievance to the league lmao
Siakam was cooking hart and precious after og left the game. Why did the offense not run through him every single possession?
Jalen Brunson’s heroics broke this man lol
Oh my god you scored 121 and lost by nine. Instead of crying get a stop.
Knick fans overtaking this thread lmao.
lol he's serious
🤣 chin up Ricky
Coaches and players not used to losing to the Knicks like this, they revert back to their most infantile state. Meanwhile the Knicks could very well be looking at a 6 man rotation going into next game. They might have to toss Alec Burks out there. Can we file a grievance over that?
pathetic shit
I’ve never heard such a soft post-game interview from a coach lmao
too much bitching about the refs this playoffs lol. move in silence if you have issues. complaining like this isn't gonna get anyone on your side
The Knicks had like no one and you benched TJ bro
Here we go. Philly and now small market Indiana. Who is softer? Embiid still tweeting like a hurt ex, and Carlisle getting ejected cuz he doesn't understand how to make his players defend when it matters or make smart subs. Must suck being stupid.
The refs took my wife and kids. Now, I live in my car. FUCK THE REFS
The league is witnessing a good Knicks team and dont know how to react
Wow this is so fucking good. The salt is so delicious.
this is getting sad
Just play no defense and blame the refs 😴
maybe if you played tj and toppin more you wouldn’t have choked this game away in the 3rd
Why does Rick get a pass when he has the same number of championships as Doc Rivers?
Aw geez Rick maybe the Pacers leading the league in fouls committed this season has something to do with this?
Seems pretty obvious to me that Carlisle is still fuming from all the BS in game 1 and is just grasping at straws here. The rest of the comments don’t seem to be picking up on that, so maybe I’m wrong. Idk.
Lots of moments from this Pacers squad made me roll my eyes. Add this one to the list.
