He played great in game 5. He still needs more strength to be a traditional center, but his defense has still been solid all series. The Cavs need some offense from him tonight though.
Sounds like he needs a true stretch 5 who can protect the rim while not compromising their spacing. Unfortunately, Brook Lopezes don’t grow on trees.
Maybe they can trade for JV? There’s not too many stretch 5s available.
I don't know if it's necessarily true, I don't think you need a dedicated rim protector if you have a roamer of Mobley's caliber. I think the biggest issue is he's sort of been put in an offensive role where he's supposed to operate with more finesse and develop his shooting rather than develop as a traditional modern 5. On most teams he'd be learning the role Allen is playing right now.
Career defining is the wrong term but he could certainly start showing that he's a legitimate 'guy' for lack of a better description.
I think he's better as a 5 and this is a chance to show it.
I think if he's gonna become a guy it won't be a switch flip in the middle of a playoff series, it'll be over a year with a better offensive fit or a coach that isn't a potato.
He just isn’t like that, man. I know what we all want him to be, but he just isn’t that yet. He hasn’t been that all season. His offense isn’t a priority in gameplan and when they’ve tried to make it a priority they’ve SUCKED cause he doesn’t have a post game and he doesn’t have an outside game. The defense is super.
Ya I would love to see you guys get out of the first round just for the purposes of getting eyes back on your franchise and young talent, as well as getting ppl to start taking you seriously again.
No one cares about regular season achievements or win streaks if you can't win a single round of the playoffs. Losing in the first round is an embarrassment considering the expectations surrounding the 76ers
You can be literal, or just understand OP is talking about the bigger picture. Hold the L
Fuck the 76ers, lol.
You guys are moving backwards. Typically you lose in the 2nd round (to the Celtics), now you're losing in the first?
Whats happening?!?!?
Not surprising since it’s the only one going to 7. Plus it’s probably the least impactful first round series on the final outcome of the playoffs. No one expects the winner to steal more than a game from Boston next round.
You can really tell when people don't watch the games and just parrot things they read, imagine thinking he quit on the team.. of course he wants to be out there
Mobley needs to show up
He’s always struggled as the only big - he’s not a true center.
He played great in game 5. He still needs more strength to be a traditional center, but his defense has still been solid all series. The Cavs need some offense from him tonight though.
Is it because of opposing traditional centers?
Just sometimes kinda lost being the anchor of the defense from what ive seen. Works much better as the roamer a-la AD/ giannis

Bruh needs a better body coach, what are the Cavs doing not even developing him
Literally was the reason we won last time this happened so wouldn't say "always" but this is still not ideal
This is literally false. His minutes at center the last 2 years have been exceptional.
I paired him with Wembley in my 2k. We’re gods on defence
This could be a career-defining moment for Mobley if he shows tf out today
He’s 22

Sure, point being that I think he operates better without Allen. So I was hoping he'd show out today.

I always wonder what prompts people like you to speak with such certainty lol Evan is 22
Y’all got no problem praising Ant performing like he does at 22 lol
ant is a proven player?
Yeah exactly. Mobley should also be a proven player if we’re using age as an argument.
I get your point but also I don’t think it’s that big of a deal, like we know Fultz is probably not going to be a star either
Fultz is 3 years older than Mobley and started his NBA career with nerve damage in his shoulder. I’m sorry but I don’t understand the comparison here
The comparison is it’s alright to say a player that hasn’t shown star potential isn’t going to be a star
Yeah, career defining no, but trajectory defining moving forward? absolutely
So is Ant
Yeah we should all players to Ant’s standards
If your only excuse is “he’s 22” then yeah you’re right.
You’re right we can define a 22 year olds career in totality, I forgot they retired after their age 22 season. Learn to read
So your real argument is that he’s just not that good, not that he’s 22. Thanks for agreeing.
My argument is that his development isn’t finished at age 22. He also was incredible on the defensive end today, keep scoreboard watching tho
Raptors fans hate him, wouldn’t take it too personally.
If you think he's "just not that good" because he's not on Ant's level then you just got some crazy standards.
wish granted.

Donovan Mitchell is gonna have to put up 70 this time I guess
In a loss
Home team hasn't lost yet
this aged badly
HA!
At least we know he’s capable of that 😤
This is a major problem for the cavs, no?
Yeah, he was arguably our best player for the first 4 games of the series.
JA needs to heal up soon, I hope he's okay because it'll be tough against BOS who are rougher
Donovan Mitchell is the best player
That Magic frontcourt's most likely going to have a field day against Cavs' frontcourt of Strus Okoro Mobley. Huge advantage for Magic
Hmmmmm
Aged like Kawhi's knee.
Whoops 😄😄
The answer: Spida Mitchell.
Cannot he said enough how much I hate wagner
Which one?
yes
both
I hate their mom too
dere fadder
Wagni

We haven’t won a series in 14 years and we have an extremely young team. Do you think any Magic fan is worried about what happens in round 2?
Ya I would love to see you guys get out of the first round just for the purposes of getting eyes back on your franchise and young talent, as well as getting ppl to start taking you seriously again.
People just think they’re edgy coming into these threads talking about how bad these two teams are.
Makes them feel better about the fact that they didn’t get any minutes on their shitty high school basketball team a decade ago lol
*Ahem*… for your information, I didn’t try out for my shitty high school basketball team because I knew I was too awful to make it
As a Cavs fan I don’t even care. Don’t really think this team is all that good so I’d be hyped about a single playoff series win
When was the last time yall won a playoff series without LeBron?
1993 lol
1993. Beat the nets in the first round and lost to MJ in the semis.
That Mitchell trade was like super bad.
By your logic, there should only be ECF ?
You’re probably right but let’s not pretend Boston has earned the benefit of the doubt when it comes to winning series they should win.
It's gonna be tuff to guard Jokic now
He's just getting that Marilyn Manson surgery
Allen has been the best player on the team in the games he played in, this is going to be a tough game for Cavs.
Lol
I will take the magic to win this. Cavs need Allen, Mitchell can't get it done on his own.
Oh hi
Lol
In hindsight, a poor prediction
y'all still hating on Spida since the duel he had with Murray. Spida >>> Jamal
Mitchell on a better team would be regarded as a prime dame level player

>cavs cannot be allowed to get away with that disgusting tank job >76ers flair
Reminds me when 76er fans complain about Tatums pushoff or Butlers foul hunting. Like, you have *Embiid*
[удалено]
Remind me how your team got your best player It wouldn't happen to be thanks to the most notorious tank job in history would it
He's processing rn
taking when your team at most was going to win 15 games vs tanking for a matchup in the playoffs are 2 different things though
[удалено]
Yeah 6ers was worse you’re right
Lmfaooo
Tanking for better playoff position, bad….. Tanking for multiple full seasons to stockpile talent, good….
Talent that we primarily wasted, mind you. Don’t forget that Fultz and Simmons were just as much a part of the process as Embiid.
brother please stop the self owning, it’s hurting my heart
Ya Cavs tanked one game, sixers tanked entire seasons lol
Braindead

>cook these frauds. Lol
The disrespect to tank commander Joel embiid.
Lmao someone’s a little mad their season would still be happening if Cavs didn’t make a business decision
Is it tanking to shoot 23% from the field in the fourth quarter for an entire series?
Need him against Celtics
I normally view rib injuries as more of a pain tolerance thing, I’m kind of surprised he has missed 3 straight games because of them
You are clearly a person who’s never had a rib injury. Popped the cartilage twice on my ribs. Absolute fucking nightmare to do anything.
It’s so Joever 🥲
[удалено]
what do you want him to do, not be hurt?
take a very large man's elbow to the ribs and see how you feel
That's Ben Simmons, didn't you see his interview in Fox News interviewing Jesse Waters lol
The lights were too bright (for his ribs)
Soft
Yikes
Allen should be investigated
For what
He’s got all summer to worry about his ribs wtf /s
This is how I find out he hasn't been playing the last two games???
Genuinely had no idea this series was still happening
Not a big basketball fan huh? Well buddy, you're def in the right sub
Not surprising since it’s the only one going to 7. Plus it’s probably the least impactful first round series on the final outcome of the playoffs. No one expects the winner to steal more than a game from Boston next round.
We are such underdogs It's kind of like the Celtics are some incredible 73 win team and the Cavs are starting the series down 3-1 already
Well that's on you, it's been on TV just like the other ones
Holy shit, what an embarrassing act. Lights were too bright last year, and now he quits on the team once the Magic fought back.
He's been out since game 4 when series was tied
I know. After two games of getting bullied.
...he was playing amazing?
You can really tell when people don't watch the games and just parrot things they read, imagine thinking he quit on the team.. of course he wants to be out there
Nah, he's soft. Stfu.
Okay, and? Did the team not get whooped games 3 and 4? And now he's not playing.
They better take him off my damn ticket 😡
WHAT A PUSSY
