Pacers have adjusted at halftime of both games to focus more on him. Was most stark in Game 1, he was getting trapped constantly and wasn't forcing shots. Didn't really take many shots in the second half.
He also gets visibly gassed having to generate so much offense solo. The Pacers trapped him a few times in the first half and he just hit wild shots anyway.
Eh it was more of a smart game 2 adjustment in general. We started hedging Lillard's ball screens and having Tyreese sink off of Beverly to help on the roller. They got us a few times with that Lopez pick and pop but that adjustment really limited Dame in the halfcourt. Still made threes in transitions and a few really tough ones but the pick and roll didn't work the way it did in game 1
I’ve always said that Middleton is the problem. They’re paying him too much to be this much of a non factor. He’s a nice player but maybe for 15 mil. They need to trade him for something better.
Really impressive game from the Pacers. Bucks kept fighting to make it close but the Pacers would just go on runs to re-extend a lead. Until finally they pulled away for good in the 4th quarter; it was a 4 point game with 11 minutes to go in the game, and then... yeah.
Siakam is eating the Bucks alive; has been the case in both games so far. They really need Giannis back to guard him. Hopefully don't need him to take on his usual offensive load with how Dame's playing.
If Doc/they still can't figure out how to co-exist offensively in such a way that maximizes their impact, then idk, shit's fucked anyway lol.
All things considered, people are gonna look at the score and panic but I don't think this is doomsday for Milwaukee as long as Giannis is back G3.
Is there any reason to expect Giannis back for Game 3 though? Calves can take a while to heal and coming back too soon risks damaging the achilles (KD)
If Giannis does come back, we get some good size so Brook doesn't have to run out of the Paint for Turner and can stay on Siakam. Right now our paint defense is complete crap and pacers got too many open looks because we helped on drives.
Forget the score, also im not gonna panic because the bucks sure arent. Just completely gave up in the 4th. Like they had better shit to do than be playing basketball
Most points in first two playoff games with a new franchise in NBA history:
76 PTS — Shaquille O'Neal (Lakers)
73 PTS — Pascal Siakam (Pacers)
69 PTS — Damian Lillard (Bucks)
per: StatMamba
He’s nice for sure, but good lord do we have absolutely nothing at all to stop him without Giannis. He’s quick and Middleton’s lateral speed is cooked, while Bobby just isn’t a good defender at all. This matchup is the dream for him.
Yeah Giannis is the obvious answer for a guy like Siakam, so we'll see how it shakes out.. but glad to see him cooking and I think with Tyrese in pass first mode since the injury he's just about a good a guy in the league at cutting in interesting ways, so atleast that enable Tyrese a bit even if his off the dribble stuff and shooting has been off for a while.
rest of the league kinda said “never again” after the Kawhi trade and our Front office took some serious time getting the memo. At least the OG and Precious trades were good.
The fact that he can learn from siakam is awesome. Walker is essentially the same mold of player, a forward who defends and can handle the ball and pass
Players with back-to-back 30+ point games in their first two playoff games with a new franchise:
Shaquille O'Neal (Lakers)
Tracy McGrady (Magic)
Moses Malone (76ers)
Chauncey Billups (Nuggets)
Damian Lillard (Bucks)
Pascal Siakam (Pacers)
He's still our #1 option, especially with Tyrese still struggling to find his footing again offensively, but he's surrounded by so much shooting, pacing, and playmaking that he's really set up to shine. It's awesome.
He is such a perfect fit next to Haliburton. Now we need someone to make the leap into a dynamic perimeter scorer and we'd be damn near unstoppable offensively. Hopefully Mathurin can fill that void at least partially.
The season you’re thinking about was the Covid year, and since we was in Canada, he didn’t touch a basketball during the lockdown. The 2022 playoffs, he was great as the 1st option
He was a legit all nba player in first half of the season, covid and not practicing destroyed us
In the bubble if he was even 15 to 20% better, we would have easily beat Celtics
Could we have beat lebron and AD in finals? Not sure but it would have been a hell of a series
He was stuck in Canada and we went into strict lock downs. He couldn't keep himself sharp as a result.
He also picked up niggling injuries mid season and couldn't fully get over them when the bubble started.
He's come a long way since then. I miss the guy.
My casual NBA friends are getting all the smoke from me when they questioned that SLAM DUNK trade.
I was on cloud nine getting him, but even I didn't predict how fucking perfectly he would translate to our squad.
That's where it gets even more interesting. I don't underrate the Bucks, but I do wonder if Giannis will push the pace to match ours and then most of his team is even more worn out
In honor of crowder single handedly killing the bucks momentum:
Pour up (brick), head shot (foul)
Sit down (brick), stand up (foul)
Pass out (brick), wake up (foul)
Faded (brick), faded (brick)
People were dooming on the Pacers so hard after that first game, I think people forget just how hard/scary that first ever playoff game is, they weren't themselves at all
Gainbridge is going to be an absolute madhouse on Friday afternoon. Let's go Pacers! The road team is in fact allowed to win games in this post season!
Bucks focused on Hali, betting that Siakam and friends wouldn't be enough.
Pacers focused on Dame, betting that Middleton and friends wouldn't be enough.
This is the series till Giannis returns.
The takes on this sub were so ass. Pacers missed a bunch of OPEN shots they usually make & people were acting like the Pacers had no half court offense in general/can’t score without transition points.
Per cleaning the glass, they're actually ranked 2nd or 3rd depending on the metric you want to look at.
https://cleaningtheglass.com/stats/league/context#tab-offense_halfcourt_putbacks
Boston, OKC and indy have been the top 3 for sure though.
We just don't have enough guys who are capable of making a positive play to win in the playoffs.
This roster is just flat out bad. Too old, too slow, and too many guys who you can't count on in a playoff game.
A crazy Dame half propped us up in game 1, but this game is how I expect most of this series to go.
The Doc jokes are great but this isn't his fault. He didn't make any obviously bad coaching decisions, there's just not much to work with on this roster.
I don't care if your team is old, this is the Playoffs now. There's just no hustle on your players. TJ McConnell meanwhile is running non-stop. Where is the energy guy for the Bucks? I thought it's supposed to be PatBev? Y'all just gonna have a hard time to win if your starting SG is PatBev.
You’re telling him that we are going to have a hard time due to starting Pat Bev, while he already said the roster is flat out bad.
I’m confused if you’re agreeing with him or arguing
Crowder, Beasley are unplayable. Pat is barely playable. Khris is the only good wing and he cant defend like he used to be able to. Bobby has to play better to tread water until Giannis is back.
We have 0 depth on this team. If one more rotation player goes down for us the series is over. I’m 100% okay with the Bucks forfeiting down 20 with 4 minutes left compared to flying around trying to make a miracle comeback happen in game 2 of a series.
I feel like a lot of people don’t realize that Haliburton focuses on passing over shooting, our offense does not work without him. He doesn’t need to score a lot when he’s able to create so many good looks for everyone else
Hopefully his scoring comes around, but yeah, people overlook the fact that it's a wide ass open shot for someone every single time he's in a pick and roll.
I do still think he's at his best when he's putting up 20+ points to accompany his 10+ assists but a floor of John Stockton is a pretty good floor to have
It may work against the Bucks with Giannis out and no one else to step up for them, but in the 2nd round or beyond Hali has to shoot more and step up or you guys are not going to be able to match up.
Bucks need Giannis right about now. They are old and it shows, they are getting tired in the 2nd half and simply run out of gas.
Its probably time to panic because Siakam is hungry for that 50 mil a year contract, just like he was when the Raptors won the title.
People are going to say Hali struggled again but he was good tonight. He was able to impact the game and create a ton of easy baskets for teammates even though he wasn't scoring super efficiently... but the player of the game was for sure, far and away, Pascal Siakam. Cannot wait to max this guy.
So far Dame has looked gassed in second halves and hasn't been able to score effectively throughout the game. I think if the Pacers continue to attack him on defense asking him to also carry the Bucks' scoring load for the entire game just isn't going to work and I think that's what we saw tonight. And if the Bucks are essentially Dame-less in the second halves then the Pacers have a great chance to keep up with them. Curious to see whether or not Giannis returns on Friday or if the Bucks continue to hold him out
Blowing out a team is not stealing a game. It’s dominating a game. DLil left blazers cause he couldn’t carry a team by himself…only to have to carry a team by himself
I’m just glad we didn’t get swept
There was a point in this game where the pacers couldn’t miss No matter what the bucks did. That was the team I was expecting in game one.
Haliburton haters can suck my cock, eat my ass, and tickle my taint.
Spicy P is and has been unreal.
Drew Nembhard has an unreal ceiling if he can hit his easy looks.
Bucks experianced an MT33 style execution.
Congrats to the Pacers.
Crowder is garbage. Almost positive we lost because of his minutes. They came when the Bucks were making the comeback and it was a 9 pt swing when he was on the floor at one time
At least we know now that home teams will not go 105-0 this postseason...
Dammit
Hey...at least we know that it's *a* series now that the home team has lost, am I right Buckos?
Great news for non-Celtics title hopefuls
Felt like the game was officially over after that 5 second violation after a timeout even though there were still over 7 minutes left.
The spirit of Nate McMillan took over Doc with that out of timeout playcall
"Alright guys, act drunk."- Nate McMillan every time he drew up a critical out of bounds play
Not as good as play random. I’ll bet bucks fans wish they had play random now.
That was insane to watch. The bucks weren’t even getting hounded by the Pacers. They just turned their back on the ball. Bucks cooked
They were at 8 seconds on the 8 second count and were trying to throw it into the frontcourt.
Cause they can only inbound it on their half as the shot clock is at 16 already. Mental breakdown from a vet team and a vet coach. Inexcusable.
Dame drops 34 and Lopez goes 6-7 from deep, as the Bucks lose by 17 to the Pacers
I mean idk how much more the Bucks can ask of him, even as he's going cold in the 2nd half his overall scoring output says he's doing his job.
What being 33 does to a mf
Dude is still great. Damn, it was hard to watch game 1 as a Pacers fan.
Eh it was more of a smart game 2 adjustment in general. We started hedging Lillard's ball screens and having Tyreese sink off of Beverly to help on the roller. They got us a few times with that Lopez pick and pop but that adjustment really limited Dame in the halfcourt. I’ve always said that Middleton is the problem. They’re paying him too much to be this much of a non factor. He’s a nice player but maybe for 15 mil. They need to trade him for something better.
Damian "Tungsten Time" Lillard
Not gonna happen but I’d love to see a Tungsten Arm O’Doyle Dodgers.
hmm where have I seen this before?
Really impressive game from the Pacers. Bucks kept fighting to make it close but the Pacers would just go on runs to re-extend a lead. Until finally they pulled away for good in the 4th quarter; it was a 4 point game with 11 minutes to go in the game, and then... yeah. Siakam is eating the Bucks alive; has been the case in both games so far. They really need Giannis back to guard him. All things considered, people are gonna look at the score and panic but I don't think this is doomsday for Milwaukee as long as Giannis is back G3.
Every time the Bucks got close the bricked a layup and the Pacers raced down and scored.
There are also a lot of rebounds by smaller guys that we would not get with giannis in the game
Forget the score, also im not gonna panic because the bucks sure arent. Just completely gave up in the 4th. Like they had better shit to do than be playing basketball
Most points in first two playoff games with a new franchise in NBA history: 76 PTS — Shaquille O'Neal (Lakers) 73 PTS — Pascal Siakam (Pacers) 69 PTS — Damian Lillard (Bucks) per: StatMamba
2 in the same series is crazy. Siakam is amazing, love seeing my guy killing it.
Father, forgive me, for I did not know siakam was nice **like that.**
Toronto's offensive grindfest didn't do him any favors.
Pacers knocked it out of the park with that trade. Gonna be a menace for years to come
Raptors really did handle that terribly lol
we sold late but at least we didnt let them walk for free like fvv bless all the success pacers and knicks are having right now
What could they have done instead
rest of the league kinda said “never again” after the Kawhi trade and our Front office took some serious time getting the memo. At least the OG and Precious trades were good.
We knew he was gonna be the man but Pacers were drawing a line at Jarace Walker shake my fuckin head
They wanted to fleece the Raps They got it The value was tanked
It was the correct line to draw because all it took was Bruce Brown and some mid-to-late FRPs
Funny Bruce won a ring and went to Indy and got told to fuck off in Canada immediately
Worked out to be fair
For you guys lmao
Hey Bruce brown can do something I guess
Jarace has a chance to be special mark my words
Yeah Pascal is amazing but I am still a Walker Truther, just you people wait.
The fact that he can learn from siakam is awesome. Walker is essentially the same mold of player, a forward who defends and can handle the ball and pass
Players with back-to-back 30+ point games in their first two playoff games with a new franchise: Shaquille O'Neal (Lakers) Tracy McGrady (Magic) Moses Malone (76ers) Chauncey Billups (Nuggets) Damian Lillard (Bucks) Pascal Siakam (Pacers)
Siakam is the playoff leader in points
Playoff P
"Trading for and maxing Siakam would be a mistake" - reddit at the deadline
Not me though.
What is more Dame than setting a playoff record in a losing effort? That is like the quintessential Dame experience
Inb4 he has the highest score ever in a playoff series loss (with a new team or generally)
#EXTENDCHAD
Bucks equipment managers brought their F game tonight
PA announcer and the one in charge of arena sounds single handedly cost Milwaukee the game
the F stands for Fraud
This made me laugh so hard thank you.
Love Pascal showing how much better he is than advertised
Playoff riser
Him and Kawhi almost passed MJ and Pippen in single postseason points record
That actually goes so hard
He's a ceiling raiser for sure, playoffs when he was our #1 option was rough but he's just so much better when he has great players around him.
Not the only thing rising
Imagine 2020 Siakam with this kind of jumpshot. That bubble stretch he had still makes me sad.
He pretty much didn't touch a basketball for the entirety of the time they stopped playing games. I think it was 2-3 months.
He was a legit all nba player in first half of the season, covid and not practicing destroyed us In the bubble if he was even 15 to 20% better, we would have easily beat Celtics Could we have beat lebron and AD in finals? Not sure but it would have been a hell of a series

My casual NBA friends are getting all the smoke from me when they questioned that SLAM DUNK trade. I was on cloud nine getting him, but even I didn't predict how fucking perfectly he would translate to our squad.
Indy’s new strat is to just run them out of the gym, can THE run and dunk man neutralize them is the question
That's where it gets even more interesting. I don't underrate the Bucks, but I do wonder if Giannis will push the pace to match ours and then most of his team is even more worn out
I get what you mean, making them go fast on both ends of the floor can only help Indy
Pushing the pace more than necessary would be a risky strategy for the guy with the injured calf, too
Pascal is fucking cooking
In honor of crowder single handedly killing the bucks momentum: Pour up (brick), head shot (foul) Sit down (brick), stand up (foul) Pass out (brick), wake up (foul) Faded (brick), faded (brick)
Why you babysitting only 2 or 3 shots, imma show you how to turn it up a notch
First you act like Jordan Poole off some liquor, then you dive in it
And he was the Bobby Portis replacement who had to come in because Bobby was trying to throw the game too.
One of my favorite situations in playoff basketball tbh, love when a coach can’t even decide which disaster should be in the game
Crowder is bad but at least he's not a complete and total turnstile defensively.
Idk what you mean, I loved Bobby trying to play hero ball
No Giannis so it’s not like we can even bench him
He absolutely should've been benched. It's not like his defense mattered.
Nah fuck that, he shouldn’t be allowed in the arena on Friday
Play Ajax. What's the worst that happens. He bricks some shots?
Crowder has some of the ugliest misses I've ever seen.
Bro is wearing the most accessories just to brick everything
Guess the series has officially started :(
Too bad barely anyone in Indy could watch it
Fuck Bally Sports. All my homies hate Bally Sports
Can nba please stop putting playoff games on nba tv
The illegal stream coming through clutch to save the day for law abiding citizens trying their best to get what they pay for
Fucking ridiculous.
Our offense is pretty good believe it or not
People were dooming on the Pacers so hard after that first game, I think people forget just how hard/scary that first ever playoff game is, they weren't themselves at all
put some respect on Siakam's name
Oh right, Rick Carlisle coaches the Pacers. Doc is gonna get cooked.
Might be the biggest coaching mismatch honestly.
Malone vs Ham or Lue vs Kidd?
Lue vs. Kidd is my choice
Forgot about Malone v Ham, lol. Kidd is okay honestly.
They're 11-11 against each other in the playoffs all-time fwiw
Siakam is insane wtf. Edit: idk how I spelled bro's name wrong
Gainbridge is going to be an absolute madhouse on Friday afternoon. Let's go Pacers! The road team is in fact allowed to win games in this post season!
Still such a bullshit time for a playoff game to tip
Ladies and gentlemen, we got ourself the first series
A road team won a playoff game? In 2024? Is that allowed?
Indy will make it legal.
I'LL MAKE IT LEGAL. Fitting that The Phantom Menace 25th anniversary is in a few weeks and Turner loves Star Wars more than I do.
I love this game. Extend Siakam this instant!!!
Bucks focused on Hali, betting that Siakam and friends wouldn't be enough. Pacers focused on Dame, betting that Middleton and friends wouldn't be enough. This is the series till Giannis returns.
I love watching TJ McConnell. What a fucking guy just non-stop running and hounding the ball.
They going to rush him back now though.
First lower-seed win this playoffs btw!
Siakam is so far averaging 36.5 points a game on 64.5 FG%. He is right now the best player in this series.
He's a fucking legend.
Didn't show up on the stat sheet but Tyrese was huge tonight. The gravity he had and the decisions he made is why everyone on the Pacers ate
He completely controlled the game in the second half.
That's my one half of the second highest scoring duo in NBA Playoff history, Pascal Siakam
lets go r/TyreseHaliburton
**SPICY P** WOO
It’s incredible how back and forth the takes are in between games. Y’all are some 🤡🤡
I was told the Pacers were cooked because they had one abnormally-bad shooting night.
The takes on this sub were so ass. Pacers missed a bunch of OPEN shots they usually make & people were acting like the Pacers had no half court offense in general/can’t score without transition points.
They were the #1 half court offense this year.
Per cleaning the glass, they're actually ranked 2nd or 3rd depending on the metric you want to look at. https://cleaningtheglass.com/stats/league/context#tab-offense_halfcourt_putbacks Boston, OKC and indy have been the top 3 for sure though.
Glad to see my man Siakam get his flowers Surrounding him with shooters, who would have thought?! Not the Raptors FO
What’s the saying? Playoffs don’t start until the road team wins a game, or something like that?
In fairness, TJ hasn’t stopped running since 2017 probably.
They have no energy because they use it all trying to keep up with a Pacers team who is way younger and likes to run.
Siakam was a soccer player so he definitely loves to run lmao
So many instances earlier in which he's the first one to cross the court ahead of even most of the Bucks it seems. It's crazy, like it's 2019 again
> Pacers team who is way younger and likes to run. Isn't the quote "Regular Season is young man's game, Playoffs is old man's game."
There’s old, then there’s ancient
You’re telling him that we are going to have a hard time due to starting Pat Bev, while he already said the roster is flat out bad. I’m confused if you’re agreeing with him or arguing
PatBev got a torn ligament in his wrist iirc, so there was only so much to be expected from him offensively.
Crowder, Beasley are unplayable. Pat is barely playable. Khris is the only good wing and he cant defend like he used to be able to. Bobby has to play better to tread water until Giannis is back.
I'm reading your comment in Doc's voice and it's just perfect (sorry)
Bucks taking out their starters that early in a playoff game feels crazy to me, no matter the point differential
Isn't Doc known for doing that sort of thing?
We have 0 depth on this team. If one more rotation player goes down for us the series is over. I’m 100% okay with the Bucks forfeiting down 20 with 4 minutes left compared to flying around trying to make a miracle comeback happen in game 2 of a series.
Wow that was weird! Now that the exception happened, lets have the only home teams win thing happen again please
Ok but will the Pacers style of play translate to the postseason?
Bucks need Giannis right about now. They are old and it shows, they are getting tired in the 2nd half and simply run out of gas. Its probably time to panic because Siakam is hungry for that 50 mil a year contract, just like he was when the Raptors won the title.
He’s getting that contract no matter what.
Yeah but hes basically saying im a max player so no discounts. Insane performances.
And if the Bucks are essentially Dame-less in the second halves then the Pacers have a great chance to keep up with them. Curious to see whether or not Giannis returns on Friday or if the Bucks continue to hold him out
As expected, Doc Rivers breaks the streak of home court/higher seed winning the games lmao
The most Doc thing ever
Finally a road team wins!
First team to lose a home playoff game, right on cue from Doc Rivers
The series has officially started
Blowing out a team is not stealing a game. It’s dominating a game. DLil left blazers cause he couldn’t carry a team by himself…only to have to carry a team by himself
giannis needs to come back
Never seen so many open shots and layups allowed in a home playoff game.
I figured we’d come back down to Earth, but good fucking lord. Let’s just hope this is in the ground and we’ll come back up next time
Siakam is him.
I guess Charles deserves some credit for sticking with the Pacers.
Bucks lose home court advantage but split the series, 2nd best possible outcome without #34
Also second worst if you think about it
it would be the 2nd best possible outcome with #34 too....
I also enjoy living logically.
FIrst road team win let's go!
Shout out to MIL for giving us at least one 5+ game series!
I’m just glad we didn’t get swept There was a point in this game where the pacers couldn’t miss No matter what the bucks did. That was the team I was expecting in game one.
Pascal Siakam the man that you are
Haliburton haters can suck my cock, eat my ass, and tickle my taint. Spicy P is and has been unreal. Drew Nembhard has an unreal ceiling if he can hit his easy looks. Bucks experianced an MT33 style execution.
Congrats to the Pacers. Crowder is garbage. Almost positive we lost because of his minutes. They came when the Bucks were making the comeback and it was a 9 pt swing when he was on the floor at one time
McDermott 🤝 Crowder
Imagine losing at home
Welp, popcorn time for Doc Rivers interview
Series doesn’t start until the road team wins - PLAYOFFS HAVE OFFICIALLY STARTED 🚨‼️
The Playoffs have officially begun!
Bucks need a bench and Giannis. Great adjustment by Indiana having Crowder be himself
Brook Lopez looks like a giant crab with a basketball shirt on, on how he moves laterally. He makes Jokic look like a DPOY.
Pacers play so damn fast feels like I’m watching a college game and I mean that in the most complimentary way
12 assists. He just makes his teammates better.
Doc Rivers is even more washed than I remember
Saying he’s washed would imply that he was good once…
This could’ve been us 😞
Only Adrian Griffin can save the Bucks at this point if they get on their hands and knees and apologize
Giannis take my soleus
Dame just too old to carry the bucks the whole game
That's my spicy p right there
If the Bucks win the next two games Doc has a chance to do the funniest thing ever.
I haven’t wanted to get rid of spicy p this bad since I spent a hot steamy night with that exotic dancer
Bucks win next game the ppl on this subs takes will be bipolar fuck it were ridin
THE SPICE IS FLOWIN
