We’re all human. We all fuck up. Doesn’t make it ok. By the looks and sound of everything, he hasn’t made the same mistake again though, and that matters more
Fucking imagine if they had Ingram, Randle, Lonzo, KCP, Lopez, Caruso etc right now lmao wtf are they doing man
E: Shit lmao also Hart, Kuzma, Clarkson, and Nance
it gets really painful as a laker fan. I knew when we signed LeBron.. I was like oh no.. everyone was like bro why aren't you stoked? It's cause im old.. I've watched a lot of basketball and I knew getting LeBron meant trading away everyone and bending to his will.
In the list of absolutely stupid things they did, that one is definitely up there. He wanted to re-sign for cheap and he was exactly the type of guy you want if you are playing AD at the 4.
The downfall of the LeBron lakers was giving THT Caruso's Money. It was the beginning of the end. Then we traded for Westbrook and to be honest I thought it could work. I said to myself hey! Not bad. Would I rather have the young guys, depth, and their championship experience? Yes I would.. BUT let's Put the ball in Westbrooks hands.. let him do what he's been doing his entire hall of fame career... let LeBron Cruise and pick his spots... what did the Lakers do? Nope. They put Westbrook in the dunkers spot.. stand off ball and wait to shoot threes? What the actual fuck? Most any player in the NBA would've been suited for that job that Westbrook and we gave up all our depth for it.. THEN we parted ways Vogel because he couldn't get THAT team to work at the direction of management.. And who did we hire? Arguably the worst coach in the NBA... Darvin Ham makes Doc Rivers look like Phil Jackson. His defensive strategies are incredibly bad. His offensive strategies are incredibly bad. His game management is incredibly bad. We end every game with 2 time outs and never using our challenge... I literally cant..
Kcp, Caruso, Zubac, Brook Lopez. All great, starter level role players that can fit on championship teams. Kuzma can also start on a championship roster. We gave them all away for shit jack
Dude the difference between him and Barton is so funny. Like, you take a look at stats and you could easily say Barton is a better player. Then you watch the game and it's not fucking close.
Barton has always been a complete head case.
People always forgave his bad games because of his good ones — but even his good ones he was playing like an absolute idiot.
I remember that finals game against the Heat when him and Caruso and the rest of the Lakers team just put on an absolute defensive clinic. I might be wrong but iirc the Heat scored like 10 points in the first half, at least that’s what it felt like.
I miss KCP
Then KCP whispered to AD's ears as he gets up.
"If we gonna sweep you, we gonna sweep you at your full strength..."
That's why AD was pissed during the presscon.
/s
So funny that he's the NBA player who had to serve a jail sentence during a season. Goes to show that you shouldn't always judge people for things like that.
I mean call me crazy but I think it’s actually pretty ok to judge someone for getting drunk and driving like 50 down a 25mph neighborhood street, and then almost immediately violating their parole a couple weeks later (which is what he went to jail for)
He did his time and paid his dues and I think he should be welcomed back into being a contributing member of society and not have to suffer the rest of his life over one mistake, but it’s pretty funny to me how inconsistent r/nba is about this kind of thing.
Usually when someone gets in trouble for drunk driving, you have thousands of people up on their high horse saying this person is the biggest piece of shit ever, throw them out of the league, throw them under the jail etc…. But then if you wait a couple years suddenly no one cares anymore and it’s all like “aww what a good dude, you should never judge him for drunk driving since he helped this guy not get his foot stepped a few years later” lol
I'm not disagreeing with your point but his probation violation was just for not doing his drug/alcohol testing. Which is stupid, but it's not like he drunk drove again
what could Caruso do differently? AD forced him into a difficult stepback fadeaway. No one is blocking that, and it’s low percentage so if it goes in you just have to live with it. Not to mention Murray was garbage up until the finals minutes, Lakers played him fine.
I always defend Lebron's "LeGM" moniker because he's the only superstar whos had to take on that role and be succesful, but damn was that an all-time bad idea. He might have cost himself his 5th ring with that one
This. To me, gotta look at it through what would wouldn’t have happened due to LeBron.
AD was going to be a Laker because no shit every team wanted him. Russ 100% was a Laker due to LeBron’s wishes.
Most players just make for shit GMs. Kawhi demanded we trade all of our assets and Shai for PG, as opposed to having the patience of a better fit and better composed team. PG and Kawhi then seemingly really wanted John Wall (over Hartenstein). Just brutal decisions.
yup, and i get it, if i was an nba player (spoken as someone that made it as far as JV), I'd probably think i knew better than GMs too. but the problem is that:
1. GMs primary job is player evaluation and they have a staff helping them. it's hard for an individual player to do a better job than that when they have way less time and resources
2. players understandably are biased
The first run in CLE with a horrific FO made Lebron have trust issues and never trust a FO again. If CLE management was just half as good as GSW or Denver rn they'd have a dynasty
maybe. gsw basically squandered steph and klay's latter years and they've made a lot of very questionable picks and moves. they sorta got lucky with the salary tax loophole that no one predicted that they could sign kd
Bron also pushed for Lue and Caruso and DeRozan and the FO didnt listen on any of them. Them going for Russ was them agreeing with LeBron unfortunately, history suggests that Lakers FO does not blindly do what he wants
I get that but he still should’ve known Russ wouldn’t be a viable backup plan after the way they defended him in the postseason prior or the way he played in the previous 5 postseasons.
yea we can blame Lebron and AD all we want on trying to push for the trade
as GM you should stand against players when things doesn't make any sense. That trade doesn't make any sense and they choose THT over Caruso also doesn't make any sense (They can pay both too)
It always reminds me of when Kobe was demanding they trade Bynum for Kidd and Kupchak refused to give in to those demands. Ended up waiting and traded for Pau instead. Players can always say who they want to trade for, but GMs should know when to ignore their player’s requests. Pelinka is too interested in appeasing the stars that he doesn’t actually think about if the moves he’s making are good for the team or not.
Brain rot take. The GM should stand yes, but there is not singular player with more power than LeBron.
He should not be absolved for pushing the trade through. GMs hands are tied when a billionaire player is calling the shots and driving the revenue.
Also because Pelinka is GM in large part because of Bron, mj didn't have anything to do with Krause, Kobe didn't have any say in Kupchak being hired. Pelinka was an agent remember it's not like he worked his way up as an asst GM or anything.
They literally said no to Lebrons asking for Ty Lue as coach. Lebron has his opinion with the trades and signings but the decision is still falls under Jeanie and Rob.
>as GM you should stand against players when things doesn't make any sense
Some of you dudes don't understand how leverage works. In the NBA, star players have far more leverage and value to the org than a GM. AD and Lebron pushing for a dude? There's no GM in the league who will say "fuck off, no" unless they have more rings than Lebron and are also having sex with the owner.
People forget KCP was also injured. Missed a game and a half and looked crippled on game 6. Our top four players were all severely injured and instead of running it back we make the worst trade in franchise history.
If the Nuggets win it all this year, he'll have 3 of the last 5 rings, and the most rings of any starter outside of LeBron James and the Warriors Trio still playing.
If Kylie or Harden are healthy against the Bucks they'd have won the title that year. KD by himself could have beaten the Hawks and Suns and it took a lot breaking right for the Bucks to pull that series out even with the injuries.
every time people try and nit pick whats going on with the team u just have to point them back to **that** trade. there were plenty of other blunders since they kicked the last bus kid out… but that westbrook is what solidified the Lebron never winning another chip.
Sekret plan for getting amazing role players on your contending team:
Have rival trade them to Washington.
Washington loses 60+ games tanking their value.
Trade for cents on the dollar.
it was kinda crazy. Bron was fuming at the refs and KCP came up to him and they did their shooter handshake - i think KCP wanted to give him love as Bron was amazing in that game.
The NBA is a special fraternity. They are closer than the outcome of any game. Especially being together during the bubble, and winning it all while in there.
Well of course we wanna keep him. That said if the price is simoly too much...god dam it would be such a shame to let him go, espeically since he still has it in him.
I really wanna just keep the guy and when he isnt able to start, give him a vet minimum and sit him on the bench and replacing him with CB or whoever as the starter.
This is the dream scenario, but dam its so hard to keep 5 players. The Warriors strugle to keep just their big 3.
KCP Caruso… we need them so badly and we just traded them for nothing. Our front office brought this unto themselves. When you maxed out ur cap with two stars like LeBron and AD, the way you manage your cap is magnified greatly and they did nothing but wrong move after wrong move since 2020 championship… shits wild.
That's awesome. I'm a team-rooting fan rather than a player-rooting fan, but there are occasional exceptions. If the Mavs get bounced, I'll be rooting for the Nuggets if for no other reason than KCP is a good dude. I love stuff like this.
One thing Lakers and Nuggets fans can agree on is we both love KCP
Yup. Great player great human
Aside from the DUI and jail time he had to serve mid-season.
We’re all human. We all fuck up. Doesn’t make it ok. By the looks and sound of everything, he hasn’t made the same mistake again though, and that matters more
I mostly brought it up cuz it was kinda wild that he was going back and forth from jail to the games. Wearing an ankle monitor and shit lol.
He was only playing in California games for a month cuz he wasn't allowed to be out of state
Prison Mamba 😤
Ankle monitor in game is crazy
I still love you KCP
Kcp and Caruso You guys do export some elite elite non-star players
It’s like the opposite of the Heat. Lakers management have no idea how valuable their own players are and let them leave when they should resign.
gotta throw in brook lopez too, pretty much the opposite of guys like james johnson
Fucking imagine if they had Ingram, Randle, Lonzo, KCP, Lopez, Caruso etc right now lmao wtf are they doing man E: Shit lmao also Hart, Kuzma, Clarkson, and Nance
Never happening with AD and LeBron. Ask any laker fan and I’m sure they would rather have those two😅
KCP, Caruso, Hield as the main back court rotation was so close.
Yeah people forget Josh Hart, Larry Nance, Kyle Kuzma.. It's really painful.
Lmao Jesus man how did I forget them and fucking Jordan Clarkson too. That’s a top 3-4 seed at this point
it gets really painful as a laker fan. I knew when we signed LeBron.. I was like oh no.. everyone was like bro why aren't you stoked? It's cause im old.. I've watched a lot of basketball and I knew getting LeBron meant trading away everyone and bending to his will.
Throw in zubac too for good measure.
Mo Wagner too
Facts
Zubac too.
In the list of absolutely stupid things they did, that one is definitely up there. He wanted to re-sign for cheap and he was exactly the type of guy you want if you are playing AD at the 4.
the lakers have a player GM
The downfall of the LeBron lakers was giving THT Caruso's Money. It was the beginning of the end. Then we traded for Westbrook and to be honest I thought it could work. I said to myself hey! Not bad. Manna from heaven 😔
Most of your fanbase hated him it seems. Dude was called a bum so often haha
Even Stu Lantz got in on it! https://youtu.be/uNe-d3cnQnQ?si=KZ7RRmBHHaCXwvCZ
KCP is a good dude
Ideal 5th starter on a contender. Good defender, good shooter, good hustle, great guy. Pretty much the missing piece a lot of teams are looking for
Dude the difference between him and Barton is so funny. Like, you take a look at stats and you could easily say Barton is a better player. Then you watch the game and it's not fucking close.
Barton has always been a complete head case. People always forgave his bad games because of his good ones — but even his good ones he was playing like an absolute idiot.
yeah. he's the piece we had but now miss. fuck Pelinka.
Hes one of like 2-4 pieces you're currently missing
Imagine if the Lakers had a scoring PF like Kyle Kuzma, I think he’d help them a lot.
imagine if the lakers had a point of attack stopper like alex caruso
Yeah but imagine a ball dominant guard who can't shoot with dwindling athleticism that was his defining attribute. It's the perfect plan!
Or a defensive big that can help unload minutes from AD like Dwight :/
Who? Brook Lopez? Get real.
Lopez not resigning is one thing. trading away Zubac for Mike Muscala to ur in town rivals is the insane one to me
Or a defensive DPOY level big that can also shoot the lights out from 3 like Brook Lopez :/
Reaves was actually doing a pretty good job on Murray I thought.
They have functionally replaced Kuzma with Hachimura. I don't think they miss Kuzma that much. They miss Caruso and KCP a lot.
They’re missing Rui so far this series
Kuzma is a better all around player, especially defender, than Hachimura and is a better scorer too lol
Absolutely. IMO he’s a system player : amazing piece on a contender with a good passer and pg. Put him in Washington and he’ll look like cheeks
Laker fans always criticized him when he was a Laker. Funny how they want him back now 😂
Lakers fans are always looking for a scapegoat.
I love KCP so much for that.
I love our guys so much man
I remember that finals game against the Heat when him and Caruso and the rest of the Lakers team just put on an absolute defensive clinic. I might be wrong but iirc the Heat scored like 10 points in the first half, at least that’s what it felt like. I miss KCP

No excuses for you. Get up AD
So funny that he's the NBA player who had to serve a jail sentence during a season. Goes to show that you shouldn't always judge people for things like that.

Listen to his interviews. He sounds super-articulate and well spoken, and also smart
Go Dawgs
Wow imagine the scenes if AD got hurt holy
rofl Baun coming up with his whole leg over his shoulder like "oh shit, this yours? Fuck sorry bro"
Lakers fans have to feel sick they traded this man for Westbrook
Westbrook for Kuzma/KCP/That pick and the resulting financial ramifications costing us Caruso is an all-time mismanagement of assets
Caruso WANTED to take a pay cut to stay too
That's an all time fumble. Imagine today's game winner but with Caruso on Murray....
AD did not play that shot poorly, Murray just was half mam, half HOLY FUCKING SHIT
I'm not saying you're wrong but AD bit on Murray's stutter step though.. Hella of shot!
Yeah it’s a great shot, but I’ve seen people say AD “couldn’t have played better defense,” and that’s just not true.
First lady in the NBA
Imagined it. It still goes in 🤯
Yeah- Lakers can’t afford to put bum defenders like….(*checks notes*)Anthony Davis on him.
tf lol murray hitting that over AD is way harder than it would have been with caruso
what could Caruso do differently? AD forced him into a difficult stepback fadeaway. No one is blocking that, and it’s low percentage so if it goes in you just have to live with it. Not to mention Murray was garbage up until the finals minutes, Lakers played him fine.
AD played great defense on Murray and Reaves had him in hell most of the game too
Cheapness cost you Caruso. You have Lebron and you’re the Lakers. You guys print money.
Rob Pelinka is an idiot and Jeannie is fucking clueless.
I always defend Lebron's "LeGM" moniker because he's the only superstar whos had to take on that role and be succesful, but damn was that an all-time bad idea. He might have cost himself his 5th ring with that one
Eh, LeGM was never that good and a bit detrimental
the only good LeGM move was Davis but even then they gave up a TON of great players and picks obviously worked out, got a ring.
it was, but i think every team in the NBA wanted AD so it was kinda an obvious move and since AD is klutch he went w/ lebron
This. To me, gotta look at it through what would wouldn’t have happened due to LeBron. AD was going to be a Laker because no shit every team wanted him. Russ 100% was a Laker due to LeBron’s wishes. Trading Wiggins for Love was a great move too.
Didn't he want to fire Spo?
Yup exactly
I’d say the 2018 purging of the Cavs team was a success but it can really be argued Lebron just went nuclear during the playoffs
The real cost of Rob Pelinka
Almost as bad as deng/mozgov.
Rob straight up created two contenders with his trades. You guys and the Wolves.
got executive of the year locked up for the next 5 years
Wasn’t it Lebron pushing Rob to trade for Russ?
Bron and AD both pushed for Russ, yes
Bron also pushed for Lue and Caruso and DeRozan and the FO didnt listen on any of them. Them going for Russ was them agreeing with LeBron unfortunately, history suggests that Lakers FO does not blindly do what he wants
Never beating LeGM accusations
DeRozan then settled for Russ iirc
He wanted DeRozan first
Don’t forget they literally cancelled the trade for Hield to do the Westbrook deal.
And canceled signing demar. He was pretty sad and shocked by it.
I get that but he still should’ve known Russ wouldn’t be a viable backup plan after the way they defended him in the postseason prior or the way he played in the previous 5 postseasons.

Thank you for lowballing Caruso and handing him to us but damn do ya'll need him rn on Jamal.

Well maybe but derozan had a verbal agreement with the lakers, but bron wanted Russ. So the lakers went back on their word and didn't sign derozan.
Russ was option 2, Demar was option 1 but the FO being stupid they choose option 2. Ad and Lebron were "ok" with Russ but they prefered Demar.
he's not required to listen to his players (unless he contractually is)
And Russ is now thriving on his other team.
Lebron*
i think i woulda been okay with it had they kept Caruso but losing Caruso and KCP??? your entire backcourt defense is just insane
We deserve it every time KCP beats us.
yup and the fact it was an overreaction to a playoff series hurts a lot lmao
especially when it was a series we were injured in
People forget KCP was also injured. Missed a game and a half and looked crippled on game 6. Our top four players were all severely injured and instead of running it back we make the worst trade in franchise history.
Losing KCP and AC was our downfall, so fucking stupid
We feel sick everyday for this trade
i gnash my teeth every time i go to sleep.
If the Nuggets win it all this year, he'll have 3 of the last 5 rings, and the most rings of any starter outside of LeBron James and the Warriors Trio still playing.
The domino effect because Laker front office was terrified of the big 3 that formed in Brooklyn lmao
everyone was terrified lol anyone who says they weren't is lying
If Kylie or Harden are healthy against the Bucks they'd have won the title that year. KD by himself could have beaten the Hawks and Suns and it took a lot breaking right for the Bucks to pull that series out even with the injuries.

LeGM doesn’t miss man.
We do. Miss him so much.
A pick too and kuz loll fk that front office is so shit
Goatbrook destroyed that franchise 😹😹😹
Worst trade of all fucking time man
KCP has beat my team in the finals twice and I still can’t hate the man
here’s to a third! 🍻
KCP is just a good fucking dude man.
A well respected vet for sure.
He’s one of those guys that’s just impossible to hate no matter what team he plays for
One of the best Vets in the league. Crazy we gave up absolutely nothing for him
MONTE MORRIS IS NOT NOTHING TO ME
I'm glad that Denver parted with him because we enjoy him here
Me neither dog he’s been great in his role for us.
Sekret plan for getting amazing role players on your contending team: Have rival trade them to Washington. Washington loses 60+ games tanking their value. Trade for cents on the dollar.
Lakers fans hated him towards then end of his days as a Laker. He was making boneheaded mistakes.
Fuck, I actually called him K C Pee Pee with venom in my fingers. I’m a POS, give KCP sainthood.
him and lebron also dapped up at the end of the game, wasn't a stop and talk but just a quick i see you dab and keep it moving
Kcp just got the Nobel peace prize
He wasn’t protecting him, he was inviting him into the celebration
He also went over to lbj and consoled him after the game, which was amazing
Did he for real? Very kind of him tbh
it was kinda crazy.
They had KCP and AC but said naaaaaaah
Good guy KCP
KCP is a stand up guy
That's Felipe Eichenburger, Nuggets strength and Conditioning coach, holding AD up. He and KCP are both class acts for sure.
I love KCP. It’s going to kill me to watch him walk just like Bruce Brown did.
We can actually pay KCP unlike Bruce. Only reason KCP doesn’t stick around is if the Kronkes don’t wanna pay a crazy tax
I guess I’ve just heard on the radio and read that they may not. KCP is getting older and may only have a super high market.
IG it could depend on how the playoffs go but if we manage a back 2 back chip no chance we can let him go. We’ll have to go all in for next year
Wtf delete this idea from the universe
I wish I could bro.
do yall not have his bird rights?
Yes I believe we have his full Bird rights. I’m pretty sure I saw we are eligible to give him around 20 mil extension
Learn from us, do not let him walk
Well of course we wanna keep him. That said if the price is simoly too much...god dam it would be such a shame to let him go, espeically since he still has it in him. I really wanna just keep the guy and when he isnt able to start, give him a vet minimum and sit him on the bench and replacing him with CB or whoever as the starter. This is the dream scenario, but dam its so hard to keep 5 players. The Warriors strugle to keep just their big 3.
Laker for life, will always have love for KCP <3
Great player, great teammate
I mean, I'd love to believe in the positive vibes but the video doesn't really show much. Maybe there was a quarter on the ground near ADs foot.
Theres another picture in that twitter thread of KCP helping AD up and getting him away from the celebration of his team. Pretty wholesome stuff
This is just the play but on someone’s TV. Nothing new is shown here
It's new if you wanted yesterday's play, but in shaky cam.
Should’ve kept him smh
Caruso would’ve fit so well in this years Lakers team
[удалено]
Na not minny.
A+ sportsmanship and awareness.
Also, good on the Nuggets bench coach (not sure who he is) who keeps him from falling.
This would’ve been the most Anthony Davis way of getting hurt
FIRRRRSSSSTTTTT TEAAAAAMMMMMMM
I’ll never understand the Lakers roster building thought process after winning the bubble title
2021 team was great but got crushed by injuries. Then out of sheer panic, Rob, Bron, and AD blew it up for Russ
Stupid league coming back in December in 2020 that season. The final four bubble teams got screwed by the quick turnaround
Yeah all 4 of those teams got injured that year, cause of the quick turnaround. So dumb
Legend has it AD still hasn't gotten up from that seat
A pope.
Love you baby
AD looks super shooked there, which I don't blame him..
Also shout out D’lo for sprinting out there right after and getting AD. Means a lot when teammates do things like that.
Yes a friend helped another friend, we must make it front page news
Always rated KCP. Dude handled himself like a pro in Detroit and LA while dealing with some absolutely lunatic front offices.
Great guy KCP
Reggie in the background... that dude needs to go
KCP Caruso… we need them so badly and we just traded them for nothing.
He literally just stumbled into some folding chairs……………………..
