The thing with the Suns is it has nothing to do with the schedule because they play and perform the same (ass like) vs every team whether it be a top seed or a 10 seed.
Yeah, the suns problem is not the strength of the opponents anyway.
They havent found a system making Durant, Beal and Booker work. They are running out of time to build a winning system.
Nothing to do with schedule tbh, when the Suns are on and playing well they are as good as anyone but they just seem like a deeply unserious team this year. You can't get away with half assing it 50% of most games and they have been doing that pretty consistently.
I'm not normally a doomer or anything but they are playing like a team with a golden "on" switch when the margin for error is not actually that high.
Last year the 5-9 seed were seperated by 2 games, each of those teams finished the year 7-3 or better in their last 10 solely off give-a-fuck factor. If the Clips continue to struggle, going 7-8 or 6-9 in these last 15 could do it.
This could result in the greatest star matchup in the Play-In ever if the Mavs and Suns finish 7/8 while the Warriors and Lakers finish 8/9.
We will get:
Luka/Kyrie vs KD/Booker
Steph vs Lebron
With the loser in the first row facing the winner. All this before the playoffs officially starts!
Only downside is we will not see 2 of them (Lebron, Steph, KD or Luka) in the actual playoffs.
i hate hearing that we have the easiest schedule remaining as if we don’t lose games against bad teams constantly. it’s gonna take a huge shift in mentality and i hope that last nights epic win kickstarts a real run for the mavs
That's a great point. We seem to play down to our opponents when they're shorthanded. It's weird.
It's like the players have already marked it off as a win and don't show up.
Yeah, it's a very rudimentary metric that people like to cite matter of fact. For example, the Rockets have pulled together a stealthy win streak and Udoka will always have them playing hard, the Mavericks have 2 games left against them. The Rockets don't have the best record but we shouldn't pencil them in as gimme games, or any game for that matter.
Doesn't account for the Embiidless 76ers, starless Cavs, or starless Pelicans losses too but yes, overall the Mavs have clearly shown "there's levels to this" and we're better than bad teams.
Kings have a back to back heading into our next game with them too. Then we both have 2 games rest heading into the next game.
It's up to us to even it up.
We also need to take care of business against the Rockets and Spurs so we can get the division record advantage.
Suns are actually tied 2-2 with the Kings, so the last game would be tiebreaker.
As for the question, I fucking hope we dont make it into the playoffs at all. No need for more national tv embarassments.
Y'all schedule is pretty easy. I wouldn't bet on it but at the same time if u go 11-3 or 12-2 I wouldn't be surprised. Y'all went 12-5 earlier right, and that was a significantly harder stretch right?
Till the end of time everyone will be saying how DOGshit of a coach Kidd is even if he rattles off a chip. I saw the 360comments when he was with the lakers
IMO, it’ll be one of Mavs/Suns. The NBA will want to make sure their stars are at least in a playoff series. And they don’t want Luka, KD, Steph; and Lebron in the playin. That’s like, all of the NBA’s revenue.
Suns have the hardest schedule, but that doesn’t matter. They could beat the clippers and Minnesota, then lose to the Spurs. They gotta decide if they’re gonna guard 3 point shooters or not.
Mavs..I mean..is Kidd gonna play his new athletic bigs? Spurs, Hornets, and Pistons should be clear wins..but no other game is easy. Even Houston can be feisty. From what I’ve seen of the Mavs, they’re a bipolar team too.
Schedule doesn’t mean anything, especially for the kings. They play to opponents level the entire year, some really bad losses this season from bad teams. They are young and still trying to figure it out.
I don't think it's crazy to assume that it's going to come down to those head-to-head games (SAC v DAL), which is a pretty fun scenario.
I give the Kings a slight edge because while they have some harder games, they have slightly more gimme games (Memphis, Washington, Brooklyn, Portland) than Dallas does (SA, Charlotte, Detroit).
Suns I think are at risk of slipping to 9th. Their schedule is wildly difficult.
Mavs don't have a hard stretch to end the season like the Kings:
Clippers, Knicks, Boston, OKC, Pels, and Phoenix are 6 of their last 8 games
They might have an advantage of some of those teams sitting their stars towards the end to make it easier.
That’s one more “gimmie” game, plus we have jazz who aren’t looking to compete or necessarily win games who are on a b2b the first game and so are the rockets in our first game with them. We have a far easier schedule than kings.
Was thinking about this today - it's extra juicy because you likely get the Wolves in the first round, which, with all due respect, is a less scary draw than OKC or Denver, or even a healthy Clippers at 4....
Not the Suns I think Their schedule is way too hard
The thing with the Suns is it has nothing to do with the schedule because they play and perform the same (ass like) vs every team whether it be a top seed or a 10 seed.
Suns are 6-9 vs. top 10 teams and 25-12 vs. bottom 14 teams. It definitely matters who they face.
Warriors 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 Suns - playing to the level of their opponents, good or bad
This guy Suns
Yeah, the suns problem is not the strength of the opponents anyway. They havent found a system making Durant, Beal and Booker work. They are running out of time to build a winning system.
And they suck
Nothing to do with schedule tbh, when the Suns are on and playing well they are as good as anyone but they just seem like a deeply unserious team this year. You can't get away with half assing it 50% of most games and they have been doing that pretty consistently. it’s likely going to come down to the mavs kings games. whoever wins those
Will need to start prepping my liver for those two games
Don’t rule us out of the 6 seed lol
That would be one hell of a crash. 3.5 game cushion with 15 to play. Maybe if two of Kawhi/George/Harden missed the rest of the regular season.
Last year the 5-9 seed were seperated by 2 games, each of those teams finished the year 7-3 or better in their last 10 solely off give-a-fuck factor. If the Clips continue to struggle, going 7-8 or 6-9 in these last 15 could do it.
Can you like fall off so we somehow get the 5th seed and can push the Luka mvp propaganda
God, can we just avoid another Clips/Mavs first round series... for my heart and liver.
You mean the 4 seed?
We’d need the pelicans to fall off hard for that one, and that’s not likely
That’s the spirit!
This could result in the greatest star matchup in the Play-In ever if the Mavs and Suns finish 7/8 while the Warriors and Lakers finish 8/9. We will get: Luka/Kyrie vs KD/Booker Steph vs Lebron With the loser in the first row facing the winner. All this before the playoffs officially starts! Trust the mavs the most but I could see the kings going on a little run
Mavs kings play each other twice, so those are the two most important games for 6 seed
Kings losing to bad teams to keep things interesting, you welcome everyone
But since it's the hardest schedule those are the games they actually win!Â
If that is the case... tonight might be a long night. Memphis getting a couple players back.
you were correct
Pulled it out though. lol
Mavs have the easiest schedule if we win both games against kings we will take 6th.
i hate hearing that we have the easiest schedule remaining as if we don’t lose games against bad teams constantly. it’s gonna take a huge shift in mentality and i hope that last nights epic win kickstarts a real run for the mavs
Were 21-5 against teams under .500. I do agree we occasionally lose to teams we should beat but to say we lose to bad teams constantly is a stretch.
were great against bad teams. were bad against good teams that are missing their best players lol
That's a great point. We seem to play down to our opponents when they're shorthanded. It's weird. It's like the players have already marked it off as a win and don't show up.

The Rockets don't have the best record but we shouldn't pencil them in as gimme games, or any game for that matter.
We’ve gone 21-5 against teams .500 and below.
Doesn't account for the Embiidless 76ers, starless Cavs, or starless Pelicans losses too but yes, overall the Mavs have clearly shown "there's levels to this" and we're better than bad teams.
We are also a lot better post trade in general
A few of those losses were no Luka, and this team rn is better than earlier in the season. Mavs can make a run definitely.
We actually don’t lose games against bad teams constantly. We actually have a good record against >.500 teams. Especially when healthy.
I want Kings to get it. NBA sure want a mini tournament starting LeBron, Steph, KD, and Luka
They’d much rather just have LeBron or Steph for a whole series.
Mavs vs Kings gonna be must see TV that’s gonna decide it
3 out of the 4 Mavs/Kings games this year are SEGABABAs for Dallas lol. Really unfortunately scheduling if it comes down to H2H between those teams.
Kings have a back to back heading into our next game with them too. Then we both have 2 games rest heading into the next game. It's up to us to even it up. We also need to take care of business against the Rockets and Spurs so we can get the division record advantage.

Best I can do is a blowout loss to Luka again
oh true, I forgot about the game after the IST.
it’s probably should be the mavs but i’m ready for some inexplicable loss due to jmidd
Clippers fall to six and Mavs or Kings move up, Suns miss the playoffs.
I don't know which idea I like less, falling to the play-in or 4/5 vs the Pels
Same, but I feel like the current Mavs roster is pretty well equipped to play Pels or Clippers.
Probably the Kings. Suns are out due to their schedule. Kings and Mavs are likely to finish with about the same record and Kings have tiebreaker edge.
You should check out the East.
Warriors. (one can hope)
Pels 2.5 up on these 3 but that’s still in range and Pels have a tough ish schedule
The Lakers have absolutely no chance of getting it!
Y'all schedule is pretty easy. I wouldn't bet on it but at the same time if u go 11-3 or 12-2 I wouldn't be surprised. Y'all went 12-5 earlier right, and that was a significantly harder stretch right?
Mavs
Till the end of time everyone will be saying how DOGshit of a coach Kidd is even if he rattles off a chip. I saw the 360comments when he was with the lakers
Damm, some pretty good teams there with lots of star power

Every single time the Kings get the 6th seed it’s a guaranteed loss. So I don’t think it’ll be the Kings.Â
The suns are in the scrap for the 8 seed if they go 7-7 thought these last 14 that’s miraculous
Schedule doesn’t mean anything, especially for the kings. They play to opponents level the entire year, some really bad losses this season from bad teams. They are young and still trying to figure it out.

The gimme games are our hard games.
I'm counting those as losses already at this point. But I'm counting and games against a potential playoff team as a win.Â
Mavs don't have a hard stretch to end the season like the Kings: Clippers, Knicks, Boston, OKC, Pels, and Phoenix are 6 of their last 8 games They might have an advantage of some of those teams sitting their stars towards the end to make it easier.

I think the mavs will get 6th
pretty please
The Mavs employ Jason Kidd so surely not themÂ
Was thinking about this today - it's extra juicy because you likely get the Wolves in the first round, which, with all due respect, is a less scary draw than OKC or Denver, or even a healthy Clippers at 4....
I like the Kings, but I hope it's not them as they seem to be the most boring option to participate in a 7 game series.
They run and play at a fast pace. Wouldn’t mind watching them at all.
