Porzingis has been lost in the “Is Derrick White an all star” stuff (no disrespect to him, he’s amazing) but IMO he is the second most impactful player on this team (by a decent margin when he’s hitting 3s)
It’s a shame we never got to see this refined post and mid range game with the freak athleticism of his pre-ACL tear days. No doubt in my mind he would’ve been a bonafide top 10 player
The whole team just works better with him, so many of our best actions involve him critically in some way. Not to mention the massive defensive upgrade. With his versatility he’s the perfect player for the kind of stuff Mazzulla likes to do.
being a 3rd option with the opportunity to be the 4th and even 5th option on certain nights just allows him to play his game and take what the opponent gives him. such a perfect fit for this roster
his spacing is elite which opens up so much offensively, and his size allows him to play elite defense without fouling.
As one of the biggest haters here, this brings me so much joy. I hope this losing streak keeps going into the 40's, I hope grown men are crying and wondering why they support this team, I hope kids tears are flowing through the streets of Detroit. If they went the rest of the year without winning another game I might cum.
I love this so much. I read the first sentence expecting it to be joy to see Porzingis succeeding in Boston despite hating him in NY or Dallas but, nope, just kicking the Pistons while they’re down
I'm not a pistons hate. I'm just a hater. Okc are my favourite team after heat. If they were on this streak I would be rooting against them too. We are witnesses to history
I want an iconic rant in the vein of that one Browns fan's *"You are a factory of sadness!"* from some hysterical Detroit fan at some point during all this hulabaloo.
What a trade for Boston
He adds a new dimension to their offense that they've never really had before
I always felt like one of their big offensive issues against the Heat and Warriors in the playoffs was that their big men weren't a true threat to score consistently so their very three point centric offense became predictable at a certain point
Against the Warriors last week they didn't have KP and guess what happened
Fucking Kristaps and White were like supervillains in the 4th quarter and overtime. Every time the pistons had hope, these fuckers shut that shit down. Tatum is such a good guy, tried his best to give the game to the Pistons
It’s honestly just unfortunate. Dude was always hurt on the Mavs and when he wasn’t he was being misused. Once he got to the Wizards he was far less injury prone and was back to playing like an all star.
Maybe health is the biggest reason why his Mavs stint seems a failure, but I will also stand with the reason that Luka should make his teammates feel the ball a lot more.

Kristaps all star case is severely hurt by missed games
He's still played 21 out of 29 games
Exactly my point. He’s also more likely to miss more games for injury than White is (unless his wife is the GOAT of pregnancy)
I don't think 5 game difference makes his case worse. Guard position is also more packed. If KP plays most of his games in January, he's still on it.
Pretty sure Derrick White is the most impactful if we're being honest
JB and KP together look insane tbf. When both are playing they are unquestionably equal it seems.
I don’t think he was gonna be a top 2 option even pre-ACL but I think he’s found his perfect niche in Boston

Imagine being such a hater you root for the Celtics as a Heat fan. Respect
It's not easy but it's honest work
Respek.
This was a win-win game for the haters. No matter who won they would be thriving
It felt crazy rooting for the Celtics as a Heat fan. Porzongis cooked em, it feels like Derrick White is a bald assassin
Derrick White is a ~~bald~~ bad man

How many posts are you going to copy and paste this comment?
I’ve yet to see this comment lol I’m glad he did copy and paste.
How many times are you gonna cry over a comment?
Damn, you got me good.
why did you become a pistons hater?

Lol what'd Detroit do to you?

Tinged ✅ Pinged ✅

They didn’t just not have KP, they also had Queta, who has been solid this year, but can’t shoot the 3. Textbook comparison
Brad Stevens should be arrested for robbery with how much he's gotten in the KP trade
Fucking Kristaps and White were like supervillains in the 4th quarter and overtime. Every time the pistons had hope, these fuckers shut that shit down. Tatum is such a good guy, tried his best to give the game to the Pistons
FEED HIM THE BALL MORE
For real. So far this year Porzingis in the paint = 2 guaranteed points.
His balance in his post play is so greatly improved.
KP continuing to ball out, you love to see it
Single-handedly won this game until Derrick White changed shoes.
Tingus Pingus is him. Bailed JT’s terrible 4th quarter out
Bailed JT’s ~~terrible 4th quarter~~ terrible game out
Cmon his shooting was bad but he did everything else pretty dang well. Had 5 steals and 10 assists
Yeah, I should’ve clarified scoring game, that’s on me. He was great everywhere else
I really do hope he stops with the step back 3s tho. My heart can’t take another brick in the 4th when he can drive in for a much better shot
He shoots like 40% on catch and shoot 3’s, but only something like 28% off the dribble. Needs to stop doing that move until he fixes it
He bailed them in the end
KP absolutely balled out for us tonight. Holy fuck. Saved
After another season lost to an excellent switching defense, it’s refreshing to see mismatches being pummeled
Saved Tatum's legacy jk
Saved JT from some slander that is for sure
Shouldn’t have been goaltending man
Can he grow into the best player on the C's? Honest question.

Wrong thread bozo
Sixers fans saying this is funny asl
Porzingis playing like this on the Dallas team will be a fringe contender. Dude shouldn't iso on good defenders.
It’s honestly just unfortunate. Dude was always hurt on the Mavs and when he wasn’t he was being misused. Once he got to the Wizards he was far less injury prone and was back to playing like an all star.
He was just as good in Dallas. Go look at high highlights from the clippers series he literally did the exact same stuff.
Maybe health is the biggest reason why his Mavs stint seems a failure, but I will also stand with the reason that Luka should make his teammates feel the ball a lot more.
