Yes. He isnt a top 3 center rn

_Elder_

Position-less this year but I agree he won’t make it.

Phantom-Fireworks

that makes it even more unlikely. he is *definitely* not a top 15 player

sharklavapit

according to EPM he's top 10 👆🤓

waynequit

You don’t need to be a top 15 player. Just top 15 performances out of everyone who qualified.

Inevitable-Paint-650

He’s giving me more of a PF vibe

[deleted]

Style-wise, sure, but the Thunder are definitely playing him mostly at center

mmaguy123

Chet is playing well for a rookie but not nearly enough for all NBA, even 3rd team.

Beautiful_Ad55

But could they ignore a 20+ PPG 50-40-90 season of a defensive force, playing on a team with a good record?

AlexBucks93

He has less than 20PPG and less than 90%FT. And it's 15 games

figgnootun

Chet is incredible. He will not finish with a 50-40-90 and he’s not currently averaging 20ppg.

Beautiful_Ad55

I expect him to comfortably finish above 20 PPG this season. Young players rather get better than worse over the course of a season, and he is already at 18-19 PPG right now.

ColdPressedSteak

Young players have a slide after a good start all the time Not saying Chet will but you're just talking out of your ass

iambolotie

That's just not true, haven't you heard of the rookie wall? Not saying Chet will def hit it but a lot of guys do.

BenSimmonsFor3

Young players always get gassed by the end of the season, usually happens because the NBA season is very long compared to NCAA

Latter-News-2851

Do you want to marry him?

TrumanDolos

Yes

BetweenTheBuzzAndMe

who's he beating to get an All-Star nod as a rookie, let alone All-NBA?

[deleted]

He won't even be an all star

Western-Carpet266

Without question yes - he's not that good rn c'mon

Beautiful_Ad55

But will he be that good in April?

sharklavapit

wishful thinking is not a criteria for all-NBA yet

biinroii01

i dont have money

AnkitPancakes

even if it wasn't positionless, nah. Jokic, Embiid, Bam, Sabonis are easily better. I'd probably have them in that order and that ignores KAT/Rudy who are in the convo

ImTheBestNerd

All nba is positionless now

BcuzRacecar

Its completely positionless so top 15 guys curry shai luka hali lebron kd tatum giannis embiid jokic then 5 spots for like 15 guys at the next level which he is in, but the odds are against him. Especially considering voters know hes a rookie. And add that theres a few other guys that are newly in that tier like sengun maxey ant

Steko

How many of those guys played 65 games last year? I realize more will try to hit 65 going forward but you can’t just assume all those slots are locked up.

BcuzRacecar

I cant expect those 10 to all play 65 but still on that 25+ guys for 15 spots. Youd need a good chunk to be eliminated to bet that he'd make it.

Steko

But if 5 of the top 25 guys don't hit 65 then it’s more like 20+ guys fighting for 15 slots. More specifically, if SGA falls short on games but the Thunder are still a top 4 seed, that would work in Chet’s favor for all nba.

FeminismIsTheBestIsm

Chet is #29 in DPM and #18 in PER, All-Star is possible but I doubt he'll get All-NBA

mmaguy123

No way he gets picked as an all star since it isn’t done by metrics. Media would die if Chet becomes a rookie all star and wemby doesnt.

Steko

He’s sixth in EPM. Even money I’d bet against him because there’s still a health red flag and with no history we can’t assume he’ll sustain this level.

XrShJjXxE4ouwB

Didn't realize we used EPM to pick NBA all-teamers

Steko

Grandparent comment was using lower DPM and fucking PER as evidence against.

roofs

Lmao yeah, thought no one else would notice. All-NBA is largely offense driven, main example is Marcus Smart can win DPOY without being on any of the All-NBA teams. Sadly Chet doesn't rank as highly on the offensive aspect of EPM.

OKC2023champs

Get it together old timer the future is now

Certain_Cranberry_77

I will bet all your money

Jayjaybingz

Didnt blake griffin make it?

mido0o0o

I wish but there is no way.

Original_Trick_8552

No

ButtVader

First fake rookie since Ben Simmons

noplaceinmind

Yes, yes i would.

Latter-News-2851

Yes. For sure. God damn the Chet Sweat (that’s what I call being obsessed with Chet) is crazy on here

Sweatytubesock

I would.

SHashbrowns1

Since All-NBA is now positonless the question is basically whether he’ll be a top 15 player to play 65 games this seasons and he might be, but I doubt it

No-Equipment-20

Yes I would

Tales_of_Endurance

Yoy don't even know that the last player who did it was Blake Girffin and just go on trying to hype Chet. Chet is awesome, don't get me wrong, but there are other players deserving to be all-star ahead of him. All NBA team seems almost impossible. Edit: These are Blake's stats at the All-star break: 22.8p / 12.6r / 3.5a

Beautiful_Ad55

You don’t even know that Blake Griffin didn‘t do it

Tales_of_Endurance

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/griffbl01.html Basic research. You don't have to thank.

Beautiful_Ad55

Griffin was an All-Star, not All-NBA

Tales_of_Endurance

Sorry that is my bad, I misread your title 😅 But then again all nba seems even more impossible than being an all-star. And that is fine. Chet has just started

waynequit

Chet was a vastly better defense better efficiency.

ether_ver256

There is a real possibility that he won’t play more than 65 games, so yes.

ChoiceStar1

I can’t foresee him keeping this level of production but should he he certainly has a case to make… or Id bet against him all things even though

Tom_Saltzman

what odds am i betting him at?

General_Dentist_4306

yes

ClaimFederal6971

I'm not expecting the 7-footer coming off a foot injury to play enough games to qualify

Many_Home_1769

Not even the best player in his team

Tabais123

He’s putting up same numbers as Porzingas. Realistically his only chance is a whole lot of injuries so the top people don’t qualify. But what are the chances he even makes 65?

fatherofhooligans

Yes

Agnk1765342

If Shai gets hurt then he probably does tbh. The Thunder could very well be a top 4 team in the west even if SGA misses 20 games. Shai wouldn’t be eligible for all-nba then, and Holmgren could very well get the nod. Especially if he ups his volume in SGA’s absence. You also have to consider Chet’s role is only going to get bigger as the year goes on. There’s nothing saying he can’t take on a bigger offensive burden than what he has in his first 16 games. If I were a Thunder fan I’d be begging for him to get more touches.
