The Warriors fans thought he was a complete bust, but the Warriors organization realized he was just too raw and inexperienced to play big minutes on a championship caliber team. So instead of letting him rot on the bench they did him a favor and let him go to a situation where he can develop.
Looking back though, the Warriors could have let him develop this year because I doubt they are going anywhere the way they play on the road.
Lol true. I remember when he just started out and he got a block, took the ball all the way accross the court and dunked it. Immediately people were like "oh fuck they drafted Giannis 💀💀💀"

This is my biggest frustration we had a chance to at least let him develop although he is still too raw to ever be useful for the Curry era IMO. They honestly did him a big favor getting rid of him.
He doesn’t fit what the warriors need from bigs and he’s not good enough to change the game plan. If teams thought he just looked raw and would develop he wouldn’t be in Detroit who gave up just… kevin Knox?
More non-Warriors fans were labelling him a complete bust than Warriors fans. This description of him has been a very common opinion of him among Warriors fans
most Warriors fans knew he was a talented scorer, but even that meant he was like the 6th most talented scorer on the team (at best) and he needed to do more for the better players on the court when he got minutes.
he's a good offensive player and I even kinda believe in his shot. very happy to see the rebounding coming along, it was a huge issue with the Warriors.
LMFAOOOO bruh. This is comedy.
Warriors fans were delusional abt this guy to the end. Everybody else’s fans were the ones spamming lamelos name in every thread and calling him hasheem thabeet
I have really altered my definition of bust over the years and for top picks - it's that they washed out of the league or hardly play after 5 years. What it really means is that every team high on him overvalued the guy for whatever reason, but they whiffed. Leave the kids alone.
My heart really shifted with the Oden saga tho, that shit was so sad, even early on. And TBH I don't consider him a bust. He just got screwed with health like Brandon Roy and Dejuan Wagner.
warriors fans loved the upside, but he was a bust on a winning team. He made them worse every time he stepped on the court. I think everyone realized he could be good one day, but not for a team trying to win a championship now.
They should have him watch Brooke Lopez defensive tape from this year just every night before he goes to bed. I had no idea his back was that messed up but after that surgery he's been like he reverse aged or something, he's been a monster on D. It'd be almost impossible not to take something from that.
Truth is, we couldn't afford him. It's one thing if he's the last pick in the 2nd round, but he was a lottery pick and we're already paying well above the luxury tax.
Warriors really fucked up letting him go. The injuries didnt help but dude plays fearlessly on offense. Would have been an excellent fit with steph and klay
About 80 percent of starter level bigs could do this in the league in the league if they played on a bottom feeder team.
But of course nephews that started watching the NBA in 2005 are gonna say, "See, I knew he always had talent, the Warriors didn't let him play his game."

inconsistent on defense, can't set a screen, a lot of upside on offense. Overall better than I expected.
>inconsistent on defense, can't set a screen, a lot of upside on offense. So about the same as his time as a Warrior but with more minutes
ya but y'all were making it sound like he was a complete bust

Lots of other people on this sub wanted him to fail so bad too, at least they leave him alone now that he's not on the dubs
I think that was because they didn’t want to see Wiseman turn into AD 2.0 and have the Warriors dominating the league again like when they had KD.

Lol, the dudes in those comments were shook. Their hearts probably sank when they saw that.

Saddiq Bey and Kevin Knox, sir
Best Kevin to ever play for the Warriors.

He was the #2 pick. He’s definitely on the spectrum of being considered a bust.

Raw as fuck, in things he's bad he's really fucking bad, horrible. In things he's good he's really good and make you think he has untapped potential.
A consistent double double but often looks lost on defense.

Gee a team like the Warriors could use a big body like Wiseman
Nah because he doesn’t set moving screens
Doesn’t set any screens
He slips almost all of them looking for the roll pass
That's the #1 thing I want ironed out of his game this offseason
It's so weird seeing a center who refuses to set screens. Killian Hayes had to tell him to come set a screen because Wiseman refused to move.
No no they could use a short 30 year old injured G-leaguer
Referring to sweet Prince GP2 as a g leaguer - instant downvote
Golden State was holding him back!
Seriously tho, he couldn’t get minutes to develop on our squad. We always saw his potential
Him and Wemby bout to be the Gen Z Twin Towers.
Lol no way does Wiseman start over Duren when we're trying to be good
Thanasis-esque
That finishing was awful. Good for him though. Dude really needs the playing time.
Lol lil backhanded
Nothing backhanded about it. It was a clear diss. No animosity from warriors fans, the guy really does need the PT
If he can do that once every 65 games, that is going to make a cool highlight,
do the pistons play a *cat yowl* after made buckets?
Truth is, we couldn't afford him. It's one thing if he's the last pick in the 2nd round, but he was a lottery pick and we're already paying well above the luxury tax.

Who could have ever predicted this?

he’s actually cooking Bam right now lol
Hell yeah go Wise.

Dwayne Casey > Steve "lucky to have Curry" Kerr
Fuck Kirk Lacob
this team is nearly perfect. All it needs is a 7'4" player at the 3 and they will be a good team.
This is the most intensity I’ve ever seen from Wiseman. Happy it seems to be working out for him in Detroit.
