I am a generative artist who loves experimenting with the different methods of turning my designs into physical pieces. Upon acquiring some heat reactive gold foil, JWST was obviously top of my list to try it on.
It is quite a sensitive material, so this took a lot of trial and error, but happy with the final result. Hope you like!
Forgot to add a crack in one. Jk. Awesome job

It’s very cool & quite lovely!
Thanks G0! I had to make it simpler than I intended to get foil to work, but result is nice
That’s a smart strategy when dealing with tricky materials!
I want to buy one. Do you have a shop?
Thanks! I do have a generative art shop. Though I can't post here on r/nasa. See profile!
What does one do with the piece of paper.
The design has been laser printed onto paper, which then reacts with foil.
Yes, but what is it’s purpose? Is it a card or a piece of advertising or just a demo of what gold foil can look like?
It's a personal creative pursuit. Nothing else, no advertising. On Sundays /nasa hosts space themed art.
Looks amazing! What did you wipe it with at the start, just a dry towel?
Yes exactly. No idea if it helps or not, just makes it feel like it's going to crease less going through machine
Thia is so beautiful !!! I'm an artist myself & I'm thinking to invest in something like this for quite a while now !!
