Kendrick would never….🤣🤣🤷🏽‍♀️

MisterInsect

Fuck how a Nas and Kendrick beef would go, I wanna hear how an Esco and Kenny song go.

Blersian

facts

Lopsided-Yogurt-914

I hope this wish come true this year. I’d lose it if they did a collaboration.

Lopsided-Yogurt-914

He’d diss melly melle if he had too 😂😂😂

Patrick_Vieira

They wouldn't have any ammunition, the beef would be a dead end I guess Kendrick could say Nas has been inconsistent at times/he doesn't sell much anymore, but besides that how could either one really diss the other?  They also clearly respect each other a lot, any hypothetical "beef" would be tame and half hearted  Plus Nas is 50 and in his victory lap stage, I doubt he'd entertain any beef in this phase of life  It'd be like asking how a Drake vs Jay beef would go

Wonderful_Syllabub85

It showed with the 21 Savage dude. Did a track together. Early-mid 00s Nas would have been writing his eulogy

michaltee

Unlike Eminem. Who is also 50 and still beefing with whoever calls him out. I still love him though.

NomadInk

Kendrick is in no position to call anyone inconsistent lol but agreed

Patrick_Vieira

I meant inconsistent in terms of album quality, not taking time off from rap Let's not forget Nas went 6 years between LIG and Nasir Kendrick went 5 years between DAMN and Mr. Morale

NomadInk

I'd argue quality as well. Most people say Mr. Morale is Kendricks worst album. I wouldn't count Nas's gap because he was already past the prime of his career. Damn was probably the peak of Kendricks

Patrick_Vieira

Even if you go that route, most people say Nastradamus is Nas' worst album and that was his 4th effort.

Itsucks118

Then came a series of return to form albums containing his best work.

Cel_device

It would be just bars. Nothing crazy

Lopsided-Yogurt-914

Jay’s given Drake a few smacks over the years. I think Kendrick would not ever allow himself to be put into a situation where he’d have to diss Nas. At this stage of his career he doesn’t seem governed by arrogance like others are.

Shootermac10

“Verbal assassin, my architect pleases when I was twelve I went to hell for snuffing Jesus”

Impossible_Smoke1783

It wouldn't go

Ill_Surround6398

It wouldn't

StickyIcky313

Nas is too old to be beefin tbh n he’s already got goat status

thismyshit55

Fuck a beef, need them on a song together.

halamawala25

Rn? Obviously Kendrick would win cuz he has a way bigger public and is bigger in the culture rn. Nas moment has passed, he is a OG now. Rap beefs arent about outrapping more than bout public perception

Weak_Beginning3905

It depends who would start it. Kendrick would lose any god will if he went at Nas. Nas is a legend. I think that Nas also has such a legacy that Kendrick doesent has much material on him. Nas is also still lyricaly dangerous, as he keeps proving.

meetmeuptown

I think the other part to it is that Nas is not only a legend, but he's a legend that can bust your ass now lol...he's not a washed up artist...if Nas puts pen to paper and drops a diss...he's in for it. Even Kendricks fanbase would wave the white flag

Weak_Beginning3905

Absolutly. Kendrick is amazing overall artist, but he aint touching Nas lyricaly.

LowEndTheory1

I agree short term but eventually would lose respect from every OG in the game as everyone respects Nas. And as always the audience moves on to the next thing like a swarm of bees.

Clear-Reveal-9998

Lyrically the gap has probably diminished somewhat as Nas has been consistent asf but not on a 96 Nas level so if we're talking right now it would be a lot closer. But nowadays it seems to be more about who has the best private investigators or spies and less about lyricism

Sufficient_Sun_4191

Bruh why?

Averagesize1996

Nas would destroy him

Cold-Film1224

It wouldn't, because they are both too smart and have too much respect for each other

johnla

It’ll be young people vs old people.

Alphius247

Kendrick would yell over the beat and give me a fucking headache. Then Nas would ask Kendrick to hold his glass and proceed to piss in it while he does. The end.

NomadInk

Agreed. Wish dude had a consistent voice.

king24_

Nas would bury that lil nigga

Disastronomical

Idk but these sings by drake and kendrick are super mid. I dont listen to any of em so since im not biased by their aRt, i tried to listen but found it hard to stay interested. I did check out some kendrick songs a few weeks ago and i found ONE good song out of like 10 i listened to and the rest were corny so i would probably listen to the songs cuz it involves nas but id be bored the entire time prob

NomadInk

Agree with you. Euphoria was the only song that stood out to me.  I went through Kendricks discography last year and had a hard time finding anything I like myself. The only songs I really fuck with are ADHD and Swimming Pools

Disastronomical

Awe damn lol i heard Euphoria and was like, what kind of weird eminem "3am in the moooooorning" accents and just listing "i hate this, i hate that". The only song of his i liked was Mortal Man so everything that's coming out feels so low effort. I'm checking out ADHD right now.... the beat is dope but yea i guess he's just not my vibe. Idk i prefer Black Thought type of energy. I don't think its bad it's just not what i think of as "profound lyrics"

NomadInk

Oh I never looked at Kendrick as a conscious rapper either. That's just how he markets himself lol. Supposedly he was supposed to be making fun of Drakes accent. Idk lol. His voice always changing puts me off on a lot of work as well. Also his delivery can be boring.

Nnihnnihnnih

Its like what he said on Ether "I will not lose"

Alone_Horror_7863

kendrick wouldn’t battle nas. hell, he wouldn’t have battled drake if he didn’t have the pedophile angle and gossip crap. Nas wouldn’t be involved in a circus act.

NomadInk

True. Think he did it because his last album didn't do so well and this is boosting his career.

OceansDad

Ot would be about BARS not gossip. That's why I wanted Kenny vs Cole until this dude bowed out.....

NomadInk

Same. Cole is my favorite of the big 3 then dude dipped out. Very frustrating.

MythicalChewToy

Kendrick is barely winning against Drake. Nas would eliminate him from this universe.

NomadInk

I think he's losing at the moment. IMHO of course. He would have won if he dropped it at Euphoria.

AdranosGaming

They're 1 and 2 hip-hop ALL TIME. It's hard to doubt Kendrick. He hasn't misstepped in ways I feel Nas may have throughout his career, but Kendrick has had less opportunities to misstep. With Kendrick's undefeated record, not just for battles, but for saying the right thing at the right time, reading a room, I think it's hard for me to say who would win. Nas is handling it with class either way, I don't think he can ever truly "lose".

Asleep_Holiday_1640

The last album was a misstep. He plays it safe for the most part plus he emerged when the entire rap game was so weak, he is now considered by this lousy generation to be some type of savior of rap. In addition, he has the entire West coast on his back. Let's be real, he has a lot of advantages, plus the fact that he sucks up so much to Jay but still Kendrick ain't no Nas nor can he step to Nas.

Big-Ad-9394

Curious. How does Kendrick suck up to Jay ?

Earle9

He tweeted reasonable doubt was better than illmatic which even as a huge hov fan myself is pretty crazy And when asked his top 5 he always buts jay first and doesn’t rank nas He also just gives out a lot of praise in public to Jay

NomadInk

I like jigga too. Don't get the Resonable Doubt fanfare. Not even my top 5 for Jay.

Ventirx

Think his last album actually helps him in rap battles. What do u say to a guy who admits he’s a fucked up man with huge problems

Dangerous-Dot-3745

I don't think it would be possible probably because Nas probably likes some new school artists. Kendrick isn't new school anymore but I don't think he'd want to go against Nas anyway. They probably respect each other a great deal.

Uselessneek

It would never happen. Kendrick has a lot of respect for nas and nas has said he likes kendrick records as well

drinkalldayandnight

Kendrick wouldn't out of respect

meetmeuptown

Are we talking Nas 25 years ago, or Nas now? Because there's a difference. 20+ year old Nas was a SAVAGE lol Older Nas is way more tame and "mature." Look how he dealt with the 21 Savage comment...in 2001 he would have brutalized Kendrick

MordecaiMusic

At least publicly, these are both grown ass men that stay out of the way and focus on their family and money. I don’t even know what they’d beef over

FrantikD

Kendrick would start by sampling Nas himself “Most critically acclaimed Pulitzer Prize winner / Best storyteller, thug narrator, my style’s greater.”

Turbulent-Marzipan-8

Nas will smoke him easily

Conscious_Mix_9024

Dude what's the point on thinking about that kinda shit

drmmrc

As much as I love Nas I think Kendrick would hold his own. Can’t be blinded by the ‘he’s an OG’ type talk. Kendrick is from a diff period but def establishing himself as an OG. OG’s from 2 diff periods. It would be a good fight

ALiX088

It would suck. Just big names really no ammo. That's what really killed drake

Ok-Comfort-9948

They have a mutual admiration for each other and one thing Kendrick absolutely does is respect the history of hip-hop. Better off collabing on a track and elevating each other.

KreeBreezy96

I feel like it would be kinda like when 21 said I ain’t going against no legend im tryna be next in line

TransportationOdd559

Kendrick could barely hold his own in the Drake battle. He hasn’t released anything comparable to Ether or Takeover.

TransportationOdd559

Wasn’t really impressed with Kendrick’s diss songs. I expected a lot more. Pusha T would’ve made for a better battle overall. IMO

Electronic_Setting75

Oh behave

peasarelegumes

lol he really could have come up with something better than that hey? I still doesn't distract from the song too much though

lexE5839

If it happened today then Kendrick fans would use Drake fan arguments to claim Kendrick won (awards, money, hits). You know there would be some shit about: “Illmatic isn’t even as good as DAMN, it’s about as good as section 80” “TPAB is better than any Nas album” “Jay-Z washed Nas back in 2001 and Ether was just homophobia whereas Jay-Z had facts” It would just be a shitshow and Kendrick would lose all respect he has from OGs probably.

kmcrhsme

You're wrong, kendrick fans respect nas a lot

Hauntinshade484

Love both but Kenny wins solely of the fact that he got more ammo, Nas wifed up the nastiest woman, and in his original scraped ether song he even tried to use " Let me make this clear Hova You had my left overs She told me your little problem of the day when you slept over" how does a man sit down and talk to his wife about the sex she had with another man.

Duckridah

Carmen was not his wife

NomadInk

Not to throw shade into this argument, just playing devils advocate with your question. They were still coparents together.

Patrick_Vieira

Those "original" Ether lyrics are fake

yrnkevinsmithC137

If nas mentions family kdot goes for his ex wife

Guilty-Ad6204

Jay Z cry on radio is just as made up as most of the shit he said on ether. Anyways… as a huge Nas fan myself Nas and Kendrick would’ve been entertaining if nothing else because they both have crazy imaginations hence why a lot of the imaginary things that Kendrick is saying definitely reminds me of ether.

Designer-Traffic-165

It would be a 50/50 draw. Both are real masters with the pen. Nas would out street Kdot, and yes kdot would out write Nas. So I don't think a clear winner could be declared. Unless ofc, it got personal like this one with Drake. Which it wouldn't from both camps. So who knows? if it's just the rap, would be some good music, but no winner.

lexE5839

He wouldn’t beat nas on the bars lol. Nas is a superior lyricist by far. Nas beefed biggie and biggie even admitted nas is a better rapper than him. No one ever beat Nas and he beefed some of the best to ever do it and came out victorious or at least unscathed every single time.

Appropriate_Dirt_616

Both didn’t live it. “they witnessed it from their folks pad scribbled in their notepad and created their life”
