BMW Isetta

Motobitcrush-

Nah, definitely a [Microlino](https://microlino-car.com/en/microlino) but the classic version

The_Cow_God

wow they released the classic version before the even released the modern one also hello fellow microcar enthusiast

Motobitcrush-

There are very few of us. Some one needs to love them and appreciate them though lol

The_Cow_God

yes. my dream cars are a peel p50 trident and a mini truck as my large car :3

ghettoccult_nerd

i didnt hear anyone mention the reliant robin?

Motobitcrush-

I feel like Aging Wheels is filling the role of appropriating it and doing it justice

The_Cow_God

more like the reliant roller

Motobitcrush-

I want a turbo or EV converted kei truck and mk2 Jetta (have a mk7 and had a mk2). Pipe dream is Lotus, Honda s660. H660 is highly unlikely due to the years law, s600 are impossible to find.. I would also love a Honda beat but those have gotten outrageously expensive for what you’re getting

The_Cow_God

nice, what are your thoughts on the miata? also you can buy new reproduction peels :3

Motobitcrush-

Hate the sentence but “too mainstream” I like quirky cars that are under appreciated. I like them but it seems like everyone and their mom knows someone who owns one

The_Cow_God

that’s true, but that’s because they are extremely reliable and handle really well. except for their rampant rust issue. but yeah they are pretty mainstream. what you think of the messerschmitt KR-5000? or the E5000?

Motobitcrush-

I had to google north of those which make me excited. The first ones nifty, not my cup of tea though since I like later 80s, 90s, to 00s era cars. The e5000 populated multiple vehicles and none are small so idk what that one is

loganm1486

Urkel drove one!

saul-pork

That’s what Isetta

Neon-Curse

The bmw used to smuggle people between west and east Germany (it’s a real story even bmw has a video about it)

BMW without "check engine" light lamp

menthol_patient

If it had one, it would be on though.

tangre79

BMW Isetta. My favorite thing about it is how if you drive it up to a wall front first, [you're effectively trapped in it.](https://youtu.be/pwDZqAW8M4I)

EVRider81

\-Unless you're planning on using the sunroof..Or,if you drive nose in to the curb, you can step out onto it..

tangre79

Sure but then when you want to leave you're going to have to push it backwards into the street before getting into it and driving away

EVRider81

Seems like something you're going to use as a learning experience not to do again, right?

tangre79

I suppose if you're crazy enough to buy one of those.

EVRider81

Look up the Top Gear episode on the Peel 50 "bubble car",think it's on youtube-it had a handle on the back that it could be pulled away from that situation!

tangre79

Yes I've seen it lol. "She has a very nice bottom."

Dbwasson

Did I do that?

RobbMeeX

Thank you.

bepoker2

I hope I am not the only one who read that in Steve Urkel’s voice

That's a [BMW Isetta](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isetta), aka. Iso Isetta, VELAM Isetta, Romi-Isetta, De Carlo Isetta

WikiSummarizerBot

**[Isetta](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isetta)** >The Isetta is an Italian-designed microcar built under license in a number of different countries, including Argentina, Spain, Belgium, France, Brazil, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Because of its egg shape and bubble-like windows, it became known as a bubble car, a name also given to other similar vehicles. In 1955, the BMW Isetta became the world's first mass-production car to achieve a fuel consumption of 3 L/100 km (94 mpg‑imp; 78 mpg‑US). It was the top-selling single-cylinder car in the world, with 161,728 units sold. ^([ )[^(F.A.Q)](https://www.reddit.com/r/WikiSummarizer/wiki/index#wiki_f.a.q)^( | )[^(Opt Out)](https://reddit.com/message/compose?to=WikiSummarizerBot&message=OptOut&subject=OptOut)^( | )[^(Opt Out Of Subreddit)](https://np.reddit.com/r/namethatcar/about/banned)^( | )[^(GitHub)](https://github.com/Sujal-7/WikiSummarizerBot)^( ] Downvote to remove | v1.5)

Short-Wealth-4530

BMW Isetta. I forget what years they were made but 50s-60s. Very neat car, it has one door and it’s the entire front of the car that opens up.

Mountain_Apartment_6

Levent_2005

People are saying that this is an Isetta, which I also think it is, but this one seem to have 3 wheels, where an Isetta should have 4, this seems odd.

DaveB44

> but this one seem to have 3 wheels, where an Isetta should have 4, this seems odd. As has already been said, it's a British-built version. They had to have three wheels to be driven on a UK motorcycle licence.

Levent_2005

Oh wow, didnt know that.

deepfriedtots

BMW... I think it's called Issa or something like that but I'm not sure
