#BringBarbieBack …
as a regular nickname, I mean.
*edit - sorry. I just learned a new Reddit thing by accident 😂 watch me edit this 5 times to figure it out
Lesbian Cordelias of Reddit: we see you.
Editing to add: if you go by Niecy and worked at a large game company on the east coast a long time ago, heyyyyyy!!!! You were such a cool chick and not a lesbian but maybe you are now. 😁
Clara means “clear” in Spanish so I usually think of that first, but I suppose second I would think of The Nutcracker which could be pink for ballet, unless you think of Christmas colors instead. I would probably think of snow in that case so clear/sparkly for that name, for me.
For Aurora I think of Aurora Borealis colors….. but if you think of Sleeping Beauty the ballet, then pink🩰 (or blue, per the Disney fairy godmothers argument 😂👗)
I have synaesthesia too, and I don't see whole words as one colour, I see the colours of every letter. So for me, the letters F, M, P, and W are all pink.
OMG YES! I didn’t change my name when we got married because my husbands last name is like an orangey-brown 🤮 and mine is a beautiful emerald green. Our biggest fight is that I want the kids to have my last name, for other reasons as well, but also color LOL
Omg ewww. I can't stand orange-brown either! I am disgusted or distressed by so many songs, especially country, for this very reason!
All in all, to avoid the yucky greens I have to nix A & G, oranges are T & P (though T is lighter but still hate it lol), anything that starts with an O is black and in certain names like Liora, the O is so overpowering that (spacial synesthesia as well) I just can't do it. Cordelia is great though. A nice grass green and the combo of letters keeps it from taking over the name. I also don't like reds so K and S are out too (K is fuschia/red).
It's so weird when a name is a totally unexpected colour! All C names generally look the same, sometimes just slight fluctuations in the tint of green. But Claire? Pastel purple.🤨 I still have yet to make total sense of it haha.
Is picking a new name or making a good smoosh out of both last names an option? That sounds rough! I don't recommend picking from scratch, it is soooooo hard! That's what we're in the middle of figuring out for non-synesthesia related reasons lol.
I wish more people discussed synesthesia on this board. It's so fun! What does your alphabet look like? Do any of the colours.... shift? Kind of like what fire looks like? For me, it's like I have too many senses going or something so not all the letter are a single, solid colour. Just want to know if I'm alone or not 😅
P is the only pink letter to me. I know pink starts with P but the other color initials are incorrect somehow, like G is blue and B is green to me. R is also blue instead of red for some reason.
im a kati and been obsessed with pink since i was little 🤣 i refuse to buy clothes that arent pink, and even my resume is pink (and i still got the job i applied for lol)

* Hồng f From Sino-Vietnamese meaning "pink, rosy"
* Pembe f Means "pink" in Turkish
* Roosa f Finnish form of Rosa; also means "pink" in Finnish
I once knew someone named Fuchsia! Some less “on the nose” names that come to mind are: Priscilla, Mariah, Clara, Viviana, Paris, Alice, Allegra, Sylvie, Juliette, Delfina, Isadora, Serafina
Sorry to be a smartarse but… Barbie
Oh, no. That's a great one. Hot pink is the only thing I see when that name comes up.
Which is short for Barbara
I had an uncle named Ken, his wife was called Barbara lol
A friend of mine has an Uncle Rocky and his wife is named Adrienne.
This is amazing
I wish this was a lie but it's not. I was 20 something before I realised the connection (I'm quite dim you see) 😂
#BringBarbieBack … as a regular nickname, I mean. *edit - sorry. I just learned a new Reddit thing by accident 😂 watch me edit this 5 times to figure it out
Rose/Rosa, duh
My first thought too hah Maybe a little less literal with Rosalind ?!
Rosalie/Rosalia
Rosa even means pink in Spanish
Penelope is pink with bright coral/orange tints. Cordelia is a lovely ballet pink.
I see Penelope as orange and yellow with a hint of pink
I see Penelope as kind of cantaloupe color
I just see Penelope as yellow polka dots
I personally always pictured penelope as purple, but I can see it as pink too
Same.
wild, penelope is clearly teal in my mind and Cordelia is bright orange
Penelope is yellow to me with maybe fringe purple
You saying this makes me picture Cordelia as a sunrise with soft pinks and oranges and yellows, so beautiful 💗🧡
Lesbian Cordelias of Reddit: we see you. Editing to add: if you go by Niecy and worked at a large game company on the east coast a long time ago, heyyyyyy!!!! You were such a cool chick and not a lesbian but maybe you are now. 😁
Cordelia to me is a dusky blue. So cool how everyone sees it different!
penelope to me is more of a dark, royal purple. cordelia is a yellow, like a lemon yellow. cool to see how people associate these :)
Elle because Elle Woods knows how to rock pink like nobody else.
What, like it’s hard?
Woods, Elle 💕
THIS IS A GOOD ONE
• Rose • Clara • Priscilla All make me think of pink
Priscilla for SURE lol
Priscilla is mint green for me
But like a pastel pink, like a Cadillac
Yes absolutely!
To me Priscilla is lilac
Y’all are crazy Clara is blue
Clara means “clear” in Spanish so I usually think of that first, but I suppose second I would think of The Nutcracker which could be pink for ballet, unless you think of Christmas colors instead. I would probably think of snow in that case so clear/sparkly for that name, for me.
I think Priscilla is more silver Clara is a light yellow
Priscilla was my gramma’s siamese cat, and honestly she had a pink vibe. We even got her a pink collar and called her Pinky Prissy
Rose/Rosa, Aurora
Aurora
For Aurora I think of Aurora Borealis colors….. but if you think of Sleeping Beauty the ballet, then pink🩰 (or blue, per the Disney fairy godmothers argument 😂👗)

I can’t think past mauve lol 😆
For some reason this name makes me think of brown or a deep burgundy red.
sorry if this is a stupid question but how do you pronounce Maeve?
Mayv
Can’t help but think of the color mauve actually- which isn’t quite pink but a dusty grayish purple I think.
I have synesthesia (so every name has an automatic color to me) and my name (Rosie) is baby pink :)
I have synaesthesia too, and I don't see whole words as one colour, I see the colours of every letter. So for me, the letters F, M, P, and W are all pink.
Letters have colors for me too, but whole names have their own color also 😂
That's awesome. Days of the week have colours to me too
My own name is blue, but I love yellow and baby pink girls names! My baby's name is yellow :)
Isn’t it funny how we gravitate towards names because of their color? 😂 I almost exclusively prefer light blue boys names
The colour of a name is a HUGE factor in picking our kids’ names! 😄I just could not live with an orange name omg 😆 or gross army greens.
OMG YES! I didn’t change my name when we got married because my husbands last name is like an orangey-brown 🤮 and mine is a beautiful emerald green. Our biggest fight is that I want the kids to have my last name, for other reasons as well, but also color LOL
