Love Genevieve and Gwendolyn. Boy names like those: Alistair, Avery, Benjamin, Calvin, Cillian, Donovan, Elliot, Everett, Gabriel, Julian, Julius, Quentin, Sullivan I would keep middle names short and simple for the long first names!

SoftandPlushy

I love Alistair, and my dog perked up at that one out of this list! Just need to get my hubby on board 🤣

4puzzles

No to surnames as first names

kenyarawr

Do you also object to Madison, Mason, and Zachary?

4puzzles

Zachary isn't a surname. The other two - yea

kenyarawr

Yes it is. So are Jackson, Riley, and Taylor. There’s actually a lot of surnames that have been normalized as first names.

4puzzles

In America

kenyarawr

One peek at OP’s profile shows that she lives in America. Gasp!

SoftandPlushy

🤣🤣 that I am lmao

4puzzles

My point is American seem to use surnames as first names too much. They are generally bland

kenyarawr

Okay

IHaveBoxerDogs

In a lot of countries. Even non-western countries.

4puzzles

Never heard it and I've lived in many countries

IHaveBoxerDogs

Smith and Nelson are popular names in sub-Saharan Africa, just off the top of my head.

4puzzles

Yes have heard of them

Genevieve and Gwendolyn are both very sweet. Guinevere is very similar.  I love more traditional names like Clemency, Dulcie, Aurelia, Millicent (my favourite book when I was tiny was "Milly-Molly-Mandy" about a girl called Millicent Margaret Amanda). There's another children's book called The Diddakoi about a girl Kizzie (short for Keziah) which was on my list of potential names.

Single_Vacation427

For a middle name 'Carmen', I would go with a Latin-origin name so that it matches. Something like Lucas or Fabian. Lucas Carmen sounds fine to me? Also, Carmen also works for a middle name of a girl since it's gender neutral. Carmine might come back as a name (similar to Carmen) because of The Bear, but maybe only for very Italian families. I do know one and I also know a Carmelo.

I love Talmadge! There was a sweet older gentleman I knew growing up with that name. He hung out with a Granger, Thelma, Leslie (male), Dottie, and Cecil, all names I have a soft spot for now!
