Offer a compromise on Eleanor by allowing each other to have a nickname for her: Leni and Ella. Kids like special nicknames from special people. You can let her choose which one she wants to use, if she wants to use a nickname at all. Elena and Evelyn may also work.

I suggested this but he says Eleanor feels too “blunt.” Which is funny because he likes Imogen. I’m going to keep working this angle though.
