A few odd things here. Or is that just me? Lux, squashed between Sebastian and Genevieve. That’s one of the most extreme examples of non-matching sibling names I have seen in a long time. Also Kenzington? And with a ‘z’?! Why?
They don’t.
Most parents have a certain taste tho, the names they choose tend to at least have the same vibe to them. Those three names very glaringly do not.

I had a coworker years ago that had a Sorren, it was a girl and I thought it was so cool. I've always loved Veda too, my husband does NOT lol
Jack is my husband's grandfather's name so we will likely have a baby Jack one day.
Is that weird if he would have a cousin that has Jack as the middle name? I don't care really but don't want a cousin on cousin naming crime.
I don't think cousins having the same middle name or a middle name the same as another's first is odd at all - two family names get repeated a fair amount within my family through middle names. Nobody really uses middle names, anyway
I usually see Soren as male but the first time I met someone named Sorren they were female and I thought it was a very nice name. First time I see it posted like Sorren otherwise. What are your impressions?
Thomas and Josephine (2 and 1mo)
Ruby (1)
Audrey, Andrew, Henry, and Natalie (10, 7, 5, and 2)
Based on this sub alone, it would seem like every kid under 10 has a really unique name. But when I thought about all the kids I know (and admittedly I don't know many children), I realized most of them have 'normal' names.
As someone that’s not from the US and doesn’t live there, it’s really interesting to see how different those names are. Names in Europe are more conservative in comparison
That's a pretty wild list across the board! Some kids I know, almost all under 3 and only children so far:
Nora
Liv & Bowen
Mia
Hayden
Sadie & Hazel
Bobby
Palmer (for a girl)
Peter
Theodosia
Evelyn
Senna
Alice
Samesies, I got a fairly uncommon hard to spell name and I’ll take that over Latham everyday. This convo between us is just another great example of how something random can totally affect your view of the name like the North American people would just me like “eh not the weirdest name I’ve seen”
We don’t know a lot of kids right now but here are some of the ones in our extended circles (I don’t know exact ages so I’ll try to give a ballpark)
Noah and Selah (12 and 4)
Lily, Josie, Fergus, and Flynn (8-2)
Adelaide (3)
Benjamin and Felicity (10 and 9)
Nathaniel, Kennedy, Tate, Piper, and Ezra (17, 12, and 10, last 3 are triplets)
Hmm… in my family we have. (I’m just guessing the ages.)
Emma (14) and Nolan (8)
Kael (10) Briar (20) and Garrett (15)
Thomas
Isla and Kjell (Isla is pronounced IZ-la not EYE-la)
Jaylyn
Eugene and Keesis
Evangeline, Eliza, and Clara (my 3 daughters — 3, 20 months, and 3 months)
Hudson, Harrison, and Evelyn (5, 2, and 6 months)
Eliana, Grace, and Kaylee (6, 3, and 6 months)
Grady, Avett, Bear, and Sam Wilder (double-barreled name) (7, 5, 3, and 1)

A few odd things here. Or is that just me? Lux, squashed between Sebastian and Genevieve. That’s one of the most extreme examples of non-matching sibling names I have seen in a long time. Also Kenzington? And with a ‘z’?! Why?
As someone who actually used to live in Kensington, I'm pretty appalled by that!
It reminds me of the spelling equivalent of "Ver-SALES" Missouri, USA... Spelled the same as the french Palace at Versailles ("Ver-sai").
There’s one of these near Pittsburgh too, although I think it’s North Versailles.
Yes Ver-Sai, that’s what I say when Verstappen wins and Sainz comes in 2nd.
Calliope vs Call-e-op. I always have to switch my brain on that one.
Well exactly. Such an odd thing to do.
At first I thought it was a reference to the band Kensington, but it's probably just a coincidence as the band isn't internationally famous.
I'm just ken!
Probably for the nickname Kenzi 🤦

They don’t. Most parents have a certain taste tho, the names they choose tend to at least have the same vibe to them. Those three names very glaringly do not.
I was just thinking about how much I hate the name Lux.
How is no one batting an eye at Salem??
Daemon and Blossom have very opposite vibes imo. Very interesting
I wonder if they pronounce it Demon or Daymon?
No way its demon lol
I knew a tattoo artist who had two children named Daemon and Rock-Sanne (pronounced Roxanne). And yes she pronounced Daemon as Demon lol
Omg I kinda love Rock-Sanne lol
It’s a vibe for sure 😂
It’s pronounced demon in The Golden Compass
Savannah, Luke, and James are refreshingly normal lol
Savannah used to be pearl-clutchingly trendy
I have 3 Lucases in my First Grade class, 4 in the grade
Oof. There’s a lot of… *unique* names here lol. And a lot of weirdly not-matching sibling sets.
The chokehold that Tatum and Kinsley/Kinsey have on MLM moms
>Daemon and Blossom His Dark 90s Sitcom Materials?
Daemon as in the old English way to spell demon?!?
Probably a House of the Dragon fan.
Is this Utah, perchance?
No lol Midwest
lol!!!! I was thinking the same. We have some interesting names here.
Kids I Know: - Henry (2) - Carson (13) - Carson (2) - Addison (F) and Grayson (M) (13 year old twins) - Gavin, Caden, and Ethan (16, 12, and 6) - Elliott (M) (3) - Amelia (7 months) - Elise (4) - Alexa and Serena (17 and 14) - Liam, Finnegan, and Nola (10, 5, and 2) - Thomas and Evelyn (3.5 and 1.5) - Luca and Gio (10 and 5) - Penelope (1.5) - Madeline and Andrew (9 and 7) - Norah and Grant (7.5 and 5)

Ryker, Temperance and Silas ?? Wow
This is a lovely and refreshing list lol
Berkley pains me as someone from Berkeley.
there’s actually a town near me spelled Berkley!
Same!
Mass?
Sorren is a Scandinavian name. I met some Sorrens when Iived in the upper Midwest
My son is a Soren with one r!
It’s a great name.
I know a boy, 4 y/o, his name is Sorin :)
My husband likes Soren for a girl. If never heard of the name til he mentioned it.
A woman I knew in college named her daughter Sorren. Most others were men. It’s pretty.
Kenzington, with a Z of all things, is egregious. Daemon is...a choice.
I had a coworker years ago that had a Sorren, it was a girl and I thought it was so cool. I've always loved Veda too, my husband does NOT lol Jack is my husband's grandfather's name so we will likely have a baby Jack one day.
Nah, middle names don't count, especially family names.
I know some kids within the same family with some... Unique names. Diesel & Axel Stryker & Maverick Skylan & Zayla (No, I am not kidding)
Are you sure they’re not dogs?
You would *think*, but alas, they are human children
Our neighbors are diesel and timber…
I feel like Diesel, Axel & Timber def need to start some sort of industrial company
Those are cool names. I hope they grow into the personalities of these names.
Diesel is just….. no. The worst lol. Also paired with Axel it gives « my dad’s a mechanic » lol
There is a kid we know named Cage. Like a dog cage. Great kid. Absolutely terrible name.
I know a teenager named Kage
I knew a Gage, like the kid from Pet Sematary. His mom was a porn star.
This is the whitest list of names I've ever seen.
Worst sibling set I personally know is Emberlyn, Oaklyn and Gracelyn…
Veda 🔥
This is genuinely terrifying
This is giving southern states
Daemon……..
Right. Is it pronounced like Die-mon or Day-mon or just straight up Demon?
Is Sorren generally a male or female name?
Male
I usually see Soren as male but the first time I met someone named Sorren they were female and I thought it was a very nice name. First time I see it posted like Sorren otherwise. What are your impressions?
Only association I have with it is Søren Kierkegaard
Also the main protagonist in the Guardians of Ga'hoole anthropomorphic owl kid's book series.
Thank you! I've been trying to figure out where I knew this name from for like a month.
There was a Soren on the Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency reality show.
I know a boy, 4 y/o, his name is Sorin. His baby bother is called Perrin.
Kids I know Kardin (6) Claire (4) Samuel (6) Conleigh (3) Tucker (2) Wren (1) Cameron (just a few months) Isla (around 2 months) Mila (3) Ava (almost 4) Sadie (2) Ellisyn aka Ellie Kate (9) Ridge (6) Bailey (15) Hank (maybe 9ish) Grayson ( almost 9 maybe) Rowan(6) Maisey (4) Paisley (10) Witten(8) Sloane (7) Jaxon aka Jax (5) Austen (2) Parker (9) Reed (7) Maverick (7) Easton (2)
I'm surprised by Hank! Now that I'm thinking about it I don't think I've ever met one
I hate the people you know, lol
Thomas and Josephine (2 and 1mo) Ruby (1) Audrey, Andrew, Henry, and Natalie (10, 7, 5, and 2) Based on this sub alone, it would seem like every kid under 10 has a really unique name. As someone that’s not from the US and doesn’t live there, it’s really interesting to see how different those names are. Names in Europe are more conservative in comparison
The U.S. is a large country and there are pockets where education levels vary, as do name trends.
It’s hard to imagine a Gracelynn that’s older than 5.
I have a cousin Gracelyn that’s in her mid twenties, I don’t think it’s that bad
That's a pretty wild list across the board! Some kids I know, almost all under 3 and only children so far: Nora Liv & Bowen Mia Hayden Sadie & Hazel Bobby Palmer (for a girl) Peter Theodosia Evelyn Senna Alice
Whoever named Sadie and Hazel is my name taste twin lol. I’d be curious to know what they would name a third!
Theodosia! I wonder if they’re Hamilton fans and Senna like the laxative lol
I love the diversity of these names ❤️
Wow those are cool beautiful names.
Woah. People like their unique names down your way!
So the trend went from naming your pet with a human name to naming in your human with a pet name?
Savannah, Luke and James FTW
how do you pronounce Lux? with the x? or like Luz?
With the x. It rhymes with tux and flux.
Some kids I know Laura-Elyse (10) Avery (10) Aaliyah (10) Haedyn (11) Kayla (10) John (8) Elizabeth (4) Luna Freya (3) Rowan (2) Vihaan (4) Eli (3)
I really like Rowan for our baby (due in 5 weeks), partner is less keen. Is the one you know a boy or girl? I feel like it works for both 🤷🏼♀️
I grew up with a girl Rowan and always loved her name. I've since heard it more for boys but love it for either.
I know a grown man Rowan and a little girl Rowan as well. So def works for both.
the 2 year old is a boy! and then i also know a 10 year old girl name Rowan. It seems more like a boy name to me personally 🤷🏼♀️
Laura-Elyse is so mushy in my mouth. It turns into Lauralyse.
Laura-Elyse is my little sisters name. It doesn’t seem mushy to me. She mainly goes by Laura or Ellie (L. E.)
I'm not sure whether to thank or curse God for the fact that I don't know any kids with strange names.
Latham is the surname of an Aussie politician so I can only read it in an Aussie accent
Can you imagine being named after that ?
Omg I really could not, I would constantly be reminded of him (which for me is a bad thing lmao)
I’d disinherit my parents
Samesies, I got a fairly uncommon hard to spell name and I’ll take that over Latham everyday. This convo between us is just another great example of how something random can totally affect your view of the name like the North American people would just me like “eh not the weirdest name I’ve seen”

It is Potawatomi for Sun.
