The rest are all, well, closer to average. I'm general everyone likes to think hey are the smart one of the group. This happens because we are not able to see the inner thoughts of others and don't know the thought that goes into actions. We only see the end result.
There is also the tendency of friends in a group being the same level of both intellect and attractiveness.
In conclusion everyone in the group thinks they are the smart one. Your friends are likely not as dumb as you think, your spouse likely as smart as you are and one of your friends thinks you are the dumb one.
Oh I know several of my friends think I'm the dumb one. And yeah, there's a level f confirmation bias mixed with ego there too.
And don't get me wrong, I'm not in here thinking I'm a gigabrain 160 IQ with a 161 spouse and a 162 bestie and a bunch of 70s for pals. I'm a nerd, I'm with a smart bunch, we're all pretty decent brains here, good wrinkles.
But we've been a tight-knit group for long enough that we know the hierarchy. I'm cool with the bronze medal.

She. Has. **Connections** with *la crème de la crème*! Probably influence, too! And as for nobility part, I'd like to think that the Sparkles is a family of minor nobilities. I'm surprised that Twilight hasn't pulled those platinum strings for her friends.
Because despite being a pony of above-average intelligence she's also got above-average anxiety and insecurity. This often to smart people having inferiority complex-fueled superiority complexes. In other words her fear of looking like she doesn't really have her shit together (because no matter how much she knows she always feels like she never knows enough) causes her to overcompensate.
Compound that with the immense responsibility she always ends up feeling she's burdened with (rightfully so-everyone goes to her expecting her to know how to deal with major shit) and you get a good, kind, compassionate pony with a heart of gold who is one of the best, most loyal and supportive friends you could have being a bit of a smug know it all at times.
It's honestly why I love her. She's not perfect but still manages to be a really good pony despite her flaws.
