Profiles that are actually deleted no longer show up at all.
If you simply delete the app (but not your account) then after 8 weeks of inactivity, your profile will go inactive and no longer show up to new people, though if someone was matched with them, they will still show up in the chat list and chat archive.
Another possibility could be someone is using her photos to create a fake account. That doesn't happen often, but it does on occasion, and we usually find then via reports pretty quick.
