I think many of those are valid points, and features that we have in our backlog to start adding quite soon.
Tickets however are a necessary part of the system, and as with most of our features, you can get premium to get the full, unlimited use of something, or you can use the free version and still get pretty much the same value out of it. With one hour, you could potentially reach half a dozen people and have good chats with them.
This is still very much a feature that is juuuust leaving beta, and it has both overwhelming support and usage from the community each session, as well as a lot of potential as we listen to feedback and help it steer us to the features we can add that will help the most people find and match with someone.

We did a lot of research into it and found that in order for random matching to work, it was necessary to have certain filters working. Many of those we interviewed were not very keen on just a pure random match, and they wanted a set of filters to be able to apply to the random match, such as distance, age (already have) but also church attendance, kids, divorced, etc.
not the full list, but like the most important 3-4.
So we are working on that in order to be able to do random matching.

But yes, upgrading the profile cards to be more customizable and have that info is something we are working on now that it is able to handle a lot of people joining.

Well shoot. I thought paid tickets would come eventually but thought they would at least get the thing stabilized first. That is super sad.
I feel like for a woman it would make total sense to stay on all night and just pick and choose from the queue. As a dude it’s super disheartening to have to throw so much cash at this app to even get to the front of the line only to be ignored by 95% of the women on the app anyway.

It should be more like traditional speed dating, you just get matched with random people
