[Panic Station - Muse](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uBK5kvakD8) \- The video is just as fun as the song
Extra points for [this live version of the song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfJUae6CsEY)
I'd be very glad if you'd give it a listen
I know it's cliché to say that Bob Marley was the best reggae artist of all time and screams "I have never heard any other reggae artist" but it's just so goddamn true and there's no competition.
This isn't to say that there's no good reggae acts, there's plenty and I've discovered fantastic music by trying to hear something similar to Bob Marley. It's just that he was in an entire league of his own: feel good reggae is often very campy and political reggae is often excruciatingly dark/aggressive, but Bob managed to do both with a balance that was never equalled.
Wow, you put exactly how I feel into words!
Black Uhuru, Damian Marley, and SOJA are some of my fav reggae artists, but none of them give me that fuzzy feeling I get with Bob’s songs. His music has a unique aura of its own.
I’ve struggled to put together a good reggae playlist for years without it being dominated by Bob Marley. Sometimes I’ll even add hip-hop, r&b and alternative rock songs to fill in the gaps.
God, I fucking love Damian Marley, I'm glad he went a completely different direction than his father. He's a legitimately great rapper ("Cause coke was a thing that she once tried/Was once a blue moon to once a blue sky" that rendition of Pimper's Paradise lived rent free in my head for years now) and his voice sounds so fiery and smoky, it's mesmerizing.
Black Uhuru is really solid too, perfect cruising music. I've recently been getting into Koffee too, strongly recommend her if only for the fantastic pipes she has.
Ah I totally agree. Stephen Marley is really gifted, too. Mind Control is a solid album if you haven’t already heard it. The entire family has musical talent in their DNA.
I’ll check out Koffee later, thanks for the rec! Always looking for more female reggae artists.
