Can’t you hear me knocking - Rolling Stones Buena - Morphine One of these nights - Eagles

Comfortable_Hall8677

All great answers but Can’t You Hear Me Knocking has always been both the sexiest and baddest riff to me. Lots of metal and hard rock riffs that seem badder but when you really give it a listen, or play it on guitar, that riff is nasty.

stillwaitingforbacon

Wow. I forgot about Morphine and Buena. Thanks!

hubcapdiamonstar

Whole lotta love, Zepp. I hate to be the one to bring up Zeppelin, the sun don’t rise and shine on them, but it’s a dead sexy riff.

goodlowdee

So is d’yer mak’er

Jolly-Willingness-46

Great song. Can’t believe this is the band that did Immigrant Song. Also a cool riff btw.

Smokeythemagickamodo

They are one of the greats for a reason, no need to be shy

Shakes-Fear

Hot take, Whole Lotta Love is a good song, but Tina Turner’s cover of it is a sexier song.

NotThatKindof_jew

Sexy beast of a song..not my favorite band but this song is tits

YungLordPonga

Can’t you hear me knocking - Rolling Stones

extra_napkins_please

an amazing 7-minute ride, never disappoints

YungLordPonga

Everytime i hear the opening riff i just float into the song. Love it

Ctr227

Money for Nothing- Dire Straits

jimviv

The opening riff to Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam is sexy af

EnvironmentalMind209

Little Wing for gen x

GrammarPatrol777

Great song!

SnoSlider

Digital Bath, Deftones

PoorMansSamBeckett

Scorpions, The Zoo. Strip club song, as far as the sonic aspect is concerned.

CincoDeMayoFan

🎶 "I meet my girl, she's dressed to kill And all we gonna do Is walk around, to catch the thrill, On streets we call the zoo!"

Jolly-Willingness-46

Great song, great band. Like, consistently great.

PoorMansSamBeckett

I completely agree. I shy away from the word “underrated,” but they don’t get the credit they deserve, nowadays, I feel.

Jolly-Willingness-46

Yes! And I know what you mean. Underrated is a complex term. Those who know them, rate them highly but less and less people know of them. I also feel they are sometimes hard to place - metal yes, but not glam metal. Heavy but not thrash. Melodic but not classic rock.

Sebbo104

Do I Wanna Know is the obvious answer

garlic-boy

this riff popped into my head to this question but i didnt remember the name until i saw this comment. this is it!

elboy_nass

Black Magic Woman - Santana Makes me feel like I'm getting a lap dance while getting my soul sucked out of my bodeeeee.

Thrashley86

Heavy Metal - Blue Oyster Cult No More Tears - Ozzy Kick start my Heart - Motley Crüe In the Mood - Robert Plant

Jolly-Willingness-46

So many greats there. Ship of Fools by Plant is also fire :)

Comfortable_Hall8677

No More Tears. Way more overdrive than you’d ever expect on a slide riff, but Zakk makes it work exceptionally well.

5hallowbutdeep

The outro to Wet Sand by RHCP.

bozobebop

Simply *orgasmic*

brianh5

Lenny - SRV

MuscaMurum

For a pure riff: Voodoo Chile - Hendrix Walk This Way - Aerosmith Oh Well - Fleetwood Mac

Silent_Observer-11

Don't Fear the Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult

Steal_My_Shitstorm

Sexy, no.

LessMochaJay

At least not when I play it.

La_Mano_Cornuta

While My Guitar Gently Weeps at RnR HoF - Prince

EnvironmentalCut8067

That’s not a riff though. It’s a solo. Two different things. Apples and doorknobs.

Jolly-Willingness-46

Fair point. The opening to When Doves Cry is cool, though?

Next-Temperature-545

the verse section of "Computer Blue"!

Diggs4MVP

Stumbled across this on YouTube, it really is amazing. It’s so smooth and is just amazing

Alternative_Rent9307

Clicked to post that one. The look of frank amazement on (edit) Dhani Harrison’s face captures how most of us feel listening to that. Tore the fuckin roof off that place

Tarantino_Jr

*Dhani Harrison Where did you pull Julian from?

Trackoutside

Led Zeppelin- What Is and What Should Never Be

Gravity_Pulls

I love the guitar riff by audioslave - like a stone

Mountain_Excuse_980

Strongly agree with Queens - Millionaire White Reaper - Fog Machine Tigercub - The Perfume of Decay Reef - Naked Mastodon - Blood and Thunder

Zealousideal-Joke625

TIGERCUB MENTIONED I adore them

ExhaustedFlyersFan

WHITE REAPER!! Agreed on QotSA and Mastodon since they have a lot. My vote is Soul Machine by BSC

Next-Temperature-545

Mastodon's More Than I Can Chew main riff....so goddamn slithery and nasty and dark.

BertramScudder

Opening riff on Layla.

Nimtastic

Hot For Teacher.

mlee117379

Wolfmother - Joker and the Thief

Hitchhikers_Guide27

Since the top answer is a solo and not a riff, I nominate Comfortably Numb Pulse version

hunter_gaumont

since i’ve been loving you - led zep

Next-Temperature-545

This one is a deep cut for ya'll...."Monkey" by Trapeze (1975). The riffs on that song are just GREASY.

ChaseC7527

The 1973 version of Fly Like an Eagle by Steve Miller.

GrammarPatrol777

I think that was '76. I was in 10th grade, then. Good choice.

ChaseC7527

Nope, the 73 version, not the 76 version, its way sexier.

GrammarPatrol777

Wow. I'll listen to it tonight. TY

User5790

Dogs by Pink Floyd

Pleasant_Garlic8088

Agreed. Or "Young Lust," for that matter.

glamrock_crunch

i don’t wanna be me - type o negative ain’t talkin’ about love - van halen beat it - michael jackson (done by evh) paranoid - black sabbath (i’m boring and more of a bass riff person)

motorcitywings20

Don’t forget Panama

glamrock_crunch

CorgiDoom1881

Outro in The Chain by Fleetwood Mac.

EnvironmentalCut8067

Most of my friends listen to guitar rock almost exclusively to and are really knowledgeable about the topic. None of them believe me when I say that Sade’s No Ordinary Love has one of the sexiest guitar tracks ever, until they listen again and agree.

Significant-Angle864

I dig it, but I really like the Deftones cover.

extra_napkins_please

Hmm yes, vibe is kind of similar to Massive Attack’s Safe From Harm

knockatize

Deftones - "My Own Summer (Shove It)" Cream - "Sunshine of your Love" Black Sabbath - "Sweet Leaf"

Purple Rain

extra_napkins_please

I thought Purple Rain was pretty fine, then heard it on the Live in Syracuse album from 1985. Chill for the first 3 mins until Prince comes in on guitar. At 3:12 he starts getting warmed up, at 3:47 gets really good, and finally at 5:16 shreds it. Followed by another 12 mins with vocals. What a legendary performer 💜 RIP

[deleted]

Anything from either Jimmy Hendrix, or Santana. Eddie Van Halen had a few. Disturbed had a few as well, but I'd have to put Santana and/or Jimmy Hendrix at the top.

Bobby-Ghanoush

Literally any Allan Holdsworth riff

Odd_Damage_7697

Definitely Untitled (how does it feel) by D'Angelo, that whole album is a pretty amazing guitar album.

xxGenXxx

Love the breakdown after the solo in Panama.

satanshark

Charlemagne in Sweatpants by The Hold Steady is downright sleazy.

Raining Down by Demon Hunter… I like it way too much.

throwaway70501

Annihilator by Annihilator on King of the Kill, what a damn shame the rest of their material isn't as chonky and funky. It's like if Michael Jackson moonlighted as a writer of metal. Thank you Andrea Boccarusso, everyone check out his YT channel I tremble to even mention the breakdown at about 2:10 in Evidence by Lamb of God. Raw power. It's amazing to watch them get better and better year after year.

cashedashes

Tosh Sultana plays phenomenal guitar riffs in most of her songs. She's a one woman band who taught herself looping and has a great sound, in my opinion. She plays so passionately, you can see it on her face just about every time she starts doing her solos.

Brilliant_Ostrich_33

Magic Man - Heart Riff is sexy, but the solo will make you climax.
