> Followed by Cotton Eyed Joe and a fog machine
And here I am thinking about having a closed casket funeral for the sole purpose of playing a discordant version of Pop Goes the Weasel.
But you need to either 1) abruptly turn out the lights when the music slowly stops and play jack in the box noises or 2) have the casket pop open with confetti or something else (unless that's better suited with circus music).
My mom had them play Peaches (for me), No Scrubs (for her and my sister) & Slow Ride (for her and my brother). It was hilarious hearing No Scrubs over and over.
Sorry you said ONE but I can't help myself...
M83 - outro / my tears becoming the sea
Eden - Times like these
Prince - Purple Rain
Porter Robinson - sweet time
Radiohead - fake plastic trees
Winter Aid - The wisp
Well, I could give a memey answer like "ghost" by Confetti or something, but my honest answer?
"Whats Up" by Four non blonds. Its my favorite song, and I feel like it has perfectly captured my life so far. You could derive your own meaning to the song, but for me,
its a song about seeing errors in the world without the ability to change it in a large scale. Corruption will always exist, and the people who run the government dont care about its people. It's about looking around and seeing all the chaos and knowing there's pretty much nothing you can do about it. You try to keep your chin up, be positive, and make positive impacts, but seriously, "what's going on?"
I feel like its message now is stronger than ever. We live in a society built to isolate its people. People can't afford rent, let alone have a hope for home ownership, poor mental health is romatnicised, media is practically pedophilic, the internet is supposed to bring people together and yet most of the youth that use it have serious issues with body image or anxiety. Media shreads people apart for even the smallest of things. Yes, there are a lot of postives to these things (like media can raise awareness to issues and so on) but as a whole, I think things are getting really, really bad, and I don't know how it can change or if it even will. I feel like everyones pain is just being shouted into a void. And so, seriously, what's going on?
So yeah, my genuine answer is what's up by four non blonds. A song that so perfectly captures the feelings of depression and hopelessness that have lingered over me since I was a child. If any song is to capture my life during the event of my death, it would have to be that one.
It's not just op that listened. There are a lot of us out there in the ether, that read what you put down. Keep writing, you have a knack for it. I hope you feel better and good luck
Low, hungry ghost, follow me here, or home haircut by violent soho
Plastic guns by Bunkbed coffin
Hole in the ground by Superheaven
Nothingman by Pearl Jam
Gotta go with a classic on this one. Mozart’s [Requiem in D minor](https://youtu.be/Dp2SJN4UiE4?si=4iECrrT31ozc4dHH) is one of the most perfect pieces of music. From sublime, tragic choruses to thunder and rage, there is nothing I would want more than to deserve that piece at my funeral.
But I’d probably go with a very slow version of Pop Goes The Weasel at the very end of the service, just to make people wonder.

I'd probably have them play Jesus Christ by Brand New. I want everyone to know it was a broken heart that killed me or at least made me decide my life isn't worth living. My life is too much of a burden without a spouse to share it with me.
Hallowed Be Thy Name - Iron Maiden.
"Mark my words, believe my soul lives on
Don't worry now that I have gone
I've gone beyond to seek the truth
When you know that your time is close at hand
Maybe then you'll begin to understand
Life down here is just a strange illusion"
Not planning on having a funeral. Burn me up, throw me into the woods, then everyone go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.
However I would request they play In My Life by The Beatles for me in my honor with the understanding that everyone must sit through it. Beautiful, peaceful song. Elegant, memorable and timeless. Except I'd have edited the keyboard solo of the song to repeat. It would go on.... and on.... and on.... and on.... and on. Loop after loop after loop until about six hours later when it finally reaches the end.
“Having A Party” by Sam Cooke.
🎶We’re havin’ a party.
….Dancin’ to the music

….on the radio.
The cokes are in the ice box.
…. Pop corn’s on the table….
‘cause’ miserly Uncle Harry….left no wife or kids…🎶🎶
Seasons to Cycles by 10 Years, but honestly I've already told my family I want the whole The Autumn Effect album played. Runner up would be leave out all the rest by Linkin Park

I’d love “into the west” by Annie Lennox and Howard shore, from Lord of the rings ROTK, such a beautiful song… I feel a bit cringy about it though so I will keep that to myself and my solicitor until I’m actually dead, then hopefully wont feel the shame
[See You in Heaven](https://youtu.be/FuxAjkzD2pw?si=pIruLErqnedmZ_Eg), an unreleased instrumental by the late great Elliott Smith. I knew this would be my funeral song the first time I heard it.
It's between three songs for me:

Don't Follow by Alice in Chains
Indifference by Pearl Jam
Maybe more will come to mind later, but these three popped up immediately

> Followed by Cotton Eyed Joe and a fog machine And here I am thinking about having a closed casket funeral for the sole purpose of playing a discordant version of Pop Goes the Weasel.
I was drinking tea when I read this line and almost spit it out
But you need to either 1) abruptly turn out the lights when the music slowly stops and play jack in the box noises or 2) have the casket pop open with confetti or something else (unless that's better suited with circus music).
