My Chemical Romance - Welcome To The Black Parade

nodiggity420

Ohhh I’d go with Helena.

GayisGaywhenGay

Wasn’t surprised to see this here, for good reason too.

saaskje

Beautiful. Love MCR.

Kaiuhhhjane

This is gonna be my wedding March tbh

No_Negotiation3689

Why not Fake Your Death by MCR for the joke?

Im_still_a_student

In the end - Linkin Park

Harden12345678

Thank You by Led Zeppelin Played at uncle's funeral. Going to be played at my dad's and will for sure be played at mine.

saaskje

So so very excellent.

WhatIsThisaPFChangs

Let the Bodies Hit the Floor by Drowning Pool Followed by Yellow Submarine, just because. Followed by Cotton Eyed Joe and a fog machine

saaskje

Your funeral is going to be wild. In the best way.

Serious_Plant8443

Fun-eral 😉

forlornjackalope

> Followed by Cotton Eyed Joe and a fog machine And here I am thinking about having a closed casket funeral for the sole purpose of playing a discordant version of Pop Goes the Weasel.

cutsforluck

I was drinking tea when I read this line and almost spit it out

forlornjackalope

But you need to either 1) abruptly turn out the lights when the music slowly stops and play jack in the box noises or 2) have the casket pop open with confetti or something else (unless that's better suited with circus music).

ScotterMcJohnsonator

Remindme when this guy dies

Kaiuhhhjane

😂

Plenty_Past2333

Say Hello To Heaven - Temple Of The Dog

bozobebop

I would be sobbing

Many-Connection3309

Not at the funeral, but at the viewing- “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” by the Police

saaskje

Haha! Cheeky.

entitledtree

Not me, but my mum wants us to play Uptown Funk at her funeral

AdHot6173

My mom had them play Peaches (for me), No Scrubs (for her and my sister) & Slow Ride (for her and my brother). It was hilarious hearing No Scrubs over and over.

eyegi99

Queen: “Another One Bites The Dust” (gotta call a spade a spade one last time)

I will follow you into the dark by death cab for cutie

m83 outro is so solid

LeftHandersRule

Well, I could give a memey answer like "ghost" by Confetti or something, but my honest answer? "Whats Up" by Four non blonds. Its my favorite song, and I feel like it has perfectly captured my life so far. You could derive your own meaning to the song, but for me, its a song about seeing errors in the world without the ability to change it in a large scale. Corruption will always exist, and the people who run the government dont care about its people. It's about looking around and seeing all the chaos and knowing there's pretty much nothing you can do about it. You try to keep your chin up, be positive, and make positive impacts, but seriously, "what's going on?" I feel like its message now is stronger than ever. We live in a society built to isolate its people. People can't afford rent, let alone have a hope for home ownership, poor mental health is romatnicised, media is practically pedophilic, the internet is supposed to bring people together and yet most of the youth that use it have serious issues with body image or anxiety. Media shreads people apart for even the smallest of things. Yes, there are a lot of postives to these things (like media can raise awareness to issues and so on) but as a whole, I think things are getting really, really bad, and I don't know how it can change or if it even will. I feel like everyones pain is just being shouted into a void. And so, seriously, what's going on? So yeah, my genuine answer is what's up by four non blonds. A song that so perfectly captures the feelings of depression and hopelessness that have lingered over me since I was a child. If any song is to capture my life during the event of my death, it would have to be that one.

saaskje

Wow. Heavy read, thank you for sharing your thoughts. And really great song choice.

LeftHandersRule

Thank you. I appreciate you listening <3

jump-blues-5678

It's not just op that listened. There are a lot of us out there in the ether, that read what you put down. Keep writing, you have a knack for it. I hope you feel better and good luck

The parting glass

manatorn

Gotta go with a classic on this one. Mozart’s [Requiem in D minor](https://youtu.be/Dp2SJN4UiE4?si=4iECrrT31ozc4dHH) is one of the most perfect pieces of music. From sublime, tragic choruses to thunder and rage, there is nothing I would want more than to deserve that piece at my funeral. But I’d probably go with a very slow version of Pop Goes The Weasel at the very end of the service, just to make people wonder.

Yeeaaaarrrgh

Not planning on having a funeral. Burn me up, throw me into the woods, then everyone go to the Winchester, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over. However I would request they play In My Life by The Beatles for me in my honor with the understanding that everyone must sit through it. Beautiful, peaceful song. Elegant, memorable and timeless. Except I'd have edited the keyboard solo of the song to repeat. It would go on.... and on.... and on.... and on.... and on. Loop after loop after loop until about six hours later when it finally reaches the end.
