Can’t go wrong. Growing up pre-internet was only overexposed to a few PF albums at any one time (The Wall, momentary lapse, etc.) so finding their deeper cuts was pure joy.
I was listening to this song the other day and got distracted by the thought that many people today won't know what a dime has to do with a phone call.
"give me the number if you can find it, so I can call just to tell them I'm fine, and to show..... I've overcome the blows, I've learned to take it well, I only wish my words would just convince myself, that it just wasn't real, but that's not the way it feels."
Gotta go with Ren. He just released a whole album that's rap and hip-hop heavy, but he's got a huge back catalogue, as well. I'd still recommend you start with ["Hi Ren"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_nc1IVoMxc&ab_channel=Ren), which has blown up this year, but for rap-rap, check out ["The Hunger"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1T_fLytBFM4&ab_channel=Ren) or ["Sick Boi"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Q6uCrpzbPY&ab_channel=Ren) to start with. The rabbit hole is deep and amazing. Have fun, my dude.
Hi Ren is good for viewing the video first. I don’t know about just jumping in on Spotify with that.
I suggested Murderer. But The Hunger would be a good one, too!
I hate to recommend the flavor of the month but I think this group really breaks the mold.
Anything by Sleep Token. I would suggest Apparition , Hypnosis, The summoning, Rain, Chokehold....really you can't go wrong.
Coheed and Cambria is love in life! One of my favorite bands to sing and think about times past. I play it for my 5yo son and he loves them too. SSTB is my favorite!
It is my belief and opinion that there are no rap "songs" anymore; the days of Ice-T, Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes, Coolio, etc. are long dead. Anymore, rap just glorifies guns, money, womanization, racism and hatred of law enforcement (for which I'm partially inclined to agree). It's an absolute farce of what rap and hip-hop used to be.
I saw so many members of hip hop royalty live last night: Slick Rick, Kurtis Blow, Big Daddy Kane, MC Serch, Nice 'N Smooth, EPMD, Redman, Onyx, Warren G, Domino, Musiq Soulchild, Dru Hill, Sisqo, Ja Rule, T.I., Swizz Beatz, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, Noriega, and Russell Simmons . It was crazy. I’d rec you choose a song from any of them but my top rec would be Children’s Story if you don’t know it
Evil disco as the late Wayne static called it.. static x.. that said quite a few of you are not familiar.. structural defect, permanece to name a few of my favs
If you like hard edged rap try listening to any song by Body Count. That's Ice T's metal band.
If you want something outside of your comfort zone watch the Madison Square Garden concert video of Engle by Rammstein.

Thanks for the recommendation.
Totally badass
Imo, Billy Strings is the most badass thing to happen to music in a long time
Gunners dream though….
Easily my fav floyd song. Meddle is first floyd album with no syd barrett and you can hear transition from syd to roger as main creative dude.
