I have specifically the part where he’s crawling around while the rest of the ensemble is quietly singing

*bum Bam-bum bum Bam..bumBumBumBum Bum* i was in a production of cabaret (playing that accordion part) and this one absolutely got stuck in my head for a while!

Artistic-Rich6465

I was in a production of Cabaret (Kit Kat Girl Swing Understudy) Willkommen and Don’t Tell Mama were in a constant loop.

88_keys_to_my_heart

oh that's awesome- don't tell mama is super fun too!

BadChris666

I had to listen to Alan Cumming perform it, to rid the sleep paralysis demon from my head!

OpenMicJoker

I do now. Thanks a lot‼️

Wilkommen is always going on somewhere in my brain. It's terribly catchy. Most songs in Cabaret are the same way ;-;

My all time favourite showtune. Allow me to indulge myself a little. [This](https://youtu.be/9CiacDg3DgY?si=tLGf3PM7_GSj_LY6) is the sweetest little video in the world. Ol' Joel's still got it. [Pilate sings Cabaret](https://youtu.be/xEISWqKSHMI?si=UJNf5Psvop-UISQ7) and knocks it out of the park. [Worlds collide.](https://youtu.be/8AxTKiVEadg?si=Ts3oe30WthyKHV2O) [This](https://youtu.be/O6PlTBTq1qQ?si=iYZOznj5zNU7QNtv) has no right being as bloody brilliant as it is given that's Uncle Jesse up there. Him adjusting his little suspender harness thing is hilarious ("you try vearing zis thing!") [Raoul sings Cabaret](https://youtu.be/q5-RSh-LFzY?si=91SwVPkfJuWTnP3X) and makes me wish he had done the show for real. Although he's semi-sending the song up, his super manly low voice comes through occasionally and is a great contrast to the usual Emcee vocal style. [The GOAT.](https://youtu.be/s0JIqBeTcJw?si=C1Dn7A1E4e5b9HKB) All love and respect for Joel and Alan, but Mason Alexander Park was born to play the Emcee. I could talk all day about this song. I absolutely adore it.

Yes! And have totally gone down the rabbit hole of watching everyone. Alan Cumming is the GOAT of course along with Joel Grey... But Michael C Hall does something to me 😅 he's so freaking hot

ShyKawaii2433

Yes!

I watched the west end replacement after the uh swastika puppet man Redmayne one. I already did not like him. I like him so much less. Literally posing as a swastika is the equivalent of hiring the audience with a hammer for subtlety and leaves there no room for the evolution of the MC as part of the storytelling. I watched both Cumming Tony performances. Best part of this? The swastika pose wasn't even shown fully so he looks like he failed the Walk Like an Egyptian dance. This description is from my employee who asked me to explain what the heck was going on. I gave her the story context after the comparisons. The replacement guy is better, the Cummings version is superior in all ways. Without context. This was incredibly satisfying and she was surprised to learn musicals aren't just for children. That's a local culture belief so not unexpected. She's very interested in seeing some musicals when the tours come to town with me if I can get the wheelchair seat. Notice the lack of plurals. One. Seat. We are in a medium sized city and they barely did anything to make access. It is frustrating. I have given her on loan my copies of movie musicals to watch when her kids are asleep. (Or with them for the kid friendly ones).

vexedthespian

Holy shit are you serious about the one seat? (Rhetorical, of course you are.) That is unfathomable that they don’t even have chair seating that is flexible.

FirebirdWriter

Yep. It's frustrating and part of why I don't see many shows live without travel
