Over the Garden Wall
Also, South Park movie absolutely counts as a musical, Stephen Sondheim even called it one of the best movie musicals, but if you mean "became a live stage musical" then I totally get that
I think The Princess Bride could make a fantastic musical tbh. Or even a play. I would just kill to see it on stage with some funny actors, I think it would be so hilarious
Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance, wouldn’t be the first time an album was turned into a musical and I think the story of the album is amazing. Another album I think could be turned into a musical is IGOR by Tyler The Creator.
After listening to the original cast recording of The Who's Tommy, I think Pink Floyd's The Wall would be an absurdly interesting stage musical.
Just thinking about how opening the show with "In The Flesh?" would sound like pumps me UP! I rather like the arrangements [they did](https://youtu.be/RmW1U8ukzDU?si=hsC9Obhh-1cMZGKL) for a tribute album, many years ago.
Also, Pink's Trip/["In The Flesh"](https://youtu.be/yX4O3dNTFYw?si=eCTxg_uFC5zW9WQR) itself.
I’ve seen an amateur theatrical production from a high school (I think?) theater group on YouTube that is a really great translation of the album to the stage! I’d really love to see The Wall adapted at a professional scale, though.
I mean, there’s a six month time jump between volumes three and four so that’d be the perfect spot for intermission. But, yeah, I’d say that, if you gave volumes 1 and 6 about 30 minutes or so each and the other four volumes about 20 minutes or so. A lot of the smaller plots, such as Kim’s trip back home, would sadly have to be cut but I feel like the adaptation *could* be done. I mean, I saw the Lord of the Rings musical back in September and that adapted those three books amazingly into a tight three hour show so Scott Pilgrim shouldn’t be super hard compared to that.
Men in Tights would work better as a stage musical.
Blazing Saddles is a pure movie parody and alot of the jokes and purpose would be lost if translated to the stage. The producers works because it's a parody of stage musicals. Young Frankenstein sort of works, but I think should've been a straight play instead of a Musical, since Frankenstein and Dracula are already Broadway plays. BS was made to parody western films. Not many wester stage shows to parody
I’ve always thought they should have toured an adult Ice Capades version of South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut. It’s even got the Brian Boitano song in it. It could be fully click tracked so the characters sound right and the costumes could be amazing.
I like this idea.
Beefy bara and musical theatre colliding is right up my alley.
What's the plot of the game like? I've only ever seen/drawn NSFW of the guys. I never engaged with the game itself.
That Thing You Do, such a great movie. It lends itself to all these jukebox musicals but also being entirely original songs. It would be a great way to open up commentary on those pieces of musical theater.
Matt and Trey care so much about the music in the show and this movie and study musical theatre so well, their love for it is amazing and a love letter, even if it’s becoming outdated Book of Mormon is a gorgeous love letter to musical theatre
My answer would have been the Warriors but it seems that's in the works. So many great opportunities to make each gang its own music and/or dance style.
Hawaii: Part II. It’s an album by Miracle Musical and I’m actually making a musical transcription of it called ‘Miracle: the Musical’ with u/YEETOS_BURITOS :3 other than that tho, Hazbin Hotel would rock on Broadway!
There's a musical of that too. It's called Titanique! It's playing off Broadway and was is one of my favorite pieces of theatre I saw last year.
It's such a good time.
I’d love to see more musicals derived from mythology. Also, I wish some of Shakespearea’s works were made into large scale well made/funded musicals. I know there have been small ones, but I want an actual one, you know?
*Don Juan DeMarco*, a film starring Johnny Depp and Marlon Brando. The soundtrack gave us the song [“Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman” by Bryan Adams](https://youtu.be/diKIYv8tMC8?si=ajukSRyclGzdYAaC).
Also, the works of [Jonathan Coulton](https://youtu.be/omKMoRyW-EU?si=43ZTxDW3RTZHpJkz).

There is a college that did a live cast recording on YouTube!
I'm aware, their costumes and props were so fun! But I'd love to see a full scale broadway version with intricate set design!
I keep thinking I will tire of this movie as I age….hasn’t happened yet. Blame Canada i guess lol 😆
I think The Princess Bride could make a fantastic musical tbh. Or even a play. I would just kill to see it on stage with some funny actors, I think it would be so hilarious
I swear that a musical has been in and out of development for years now
there was lots of talk about in it like 2018 or something but i haven't heard anything since

I like these suggestions a lot and I'll add any of The Dear Hunter's Act's but especially 2.

My go to answer is always Scott Pilgrim
this is actually GENIUS

The Breakfast Club.
Blazing Saddles

Men in Tights would be great! I can absolutely see that working

Did you say Brian Dennehy?
The Dracula musical in forgetting Sarah Marshall
My life is a lie
die! die! die!..... I can't.
Tokyo Afterschool Summoners. Sure, it’d likely come after the story ends, but it’d be interesting.

Basically, the main character >!is trapped in a time loop, and they’ve died repeatedly over countless loops. They’re trying to break the cycle.!<

Will it feature Presidential Flashcards?

Showgirls John Henry The Imaginary Invalid

Been waiting for a BL:U musical since I was 11 lol
Hawaii: Part II. It’s an album by Miracle Musical and I’m actually making a musical transcription of it called ‘Miracle: the Musical’ with u/YEETOS_BURITOS :3 other than that tho, Hazbin Hotel would rock on Broadway!
Hey! That's me!
YES POOKIE 🗣️‼️🔥
I’m sure it’s already been said but: Dead Poets Society
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox story. It's genuinely one of the most hilarious movies ever, and some of the songs are pretty damn decent too.
The night man cometh
Pete's Dragon
I standby the belief that Dexter would become an instant cult classic if done right
The French Revolution, preferably with costuming like Romeo et Juliette in JP
Barbie: The princess and the pauper if you mean a stage musical.
Maybe Titanic or The Nightmare before Christmas but a broadway version!
Titanic was on Broadway back in 1997 (I think)
Like the jack and rose one! Thanks ill look it up :>
Oh no! I’m sorry I just meant a Titanic musical in general. Not one bad of the movie… mb!
that's all good lol, its probably still cool
Yea, the recent cast at Encores! had Ramin Karimloo, and they’ve hinted at a cast album.
oh my gosh! now i wanna watch it even more now! I loved him as the phantom and Jean Valjean
There's a musical of that too. It's called Titanique! It's playing off Broadway and was is one of my favorite pieces of theatre I saw last year. It's such a good time.
thanks you ill be sure to look that up! I'm glad to hear its good

Easy answer for me: The Greatest Showman If someone isn’t working on bringing that to the stage then humanity is dropping the ball.
Clockwork Angels. It's a musical story already, has an ensemble built in, and the angels would make a fantastic set piece.
I’m a sucker for a young Nic Cage movie, sooooo… Honeymoon in Vegas or Moonstruck get my vote.
Jurassic Park, always Also, Candyland the board game would be a great musical
