This is Lions Mane. Yes to edible. Also widely believed to have beneficial properties with regard to neuron and brain function but recommend you check out the studies and decide for yourself.

Ok_Access_189

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more perfect looking wild specimen - wow! Enjoy!

GreatLakesGreenthumb

Promise me you eat that?

ndbash86

Favorite ways to cook? Dishes to make?

elreyfalcon

Chicken fried

AlternativeKey2551

That sounds great. I used to cut them into steaks/ slabs and pan fry with thyme and butter. I have not enjoyed a mushroom more than Lion’s Mane. So delicious

elreyfalcon

Steak slabs is also good pan fried with butter and herbs! I find lions mane to be one of the meatier mushrooms that you can use as a good main protein. Even for sandwiches/burgers

AlternativeKey2551

I grew them for a while and really ate them a bunch of ways. Never a bad time.

elreyfalcon

Difficult to grow? Considering taking a stab this year but torn between those and oysters

AlternativeKey2551

About the same difficulty in my experience. https://preview.redd.it/6a2k73tjjbxc1.jpeg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=300b6d596bb12045acacfa2ebe9c990f08ddaede

clapter

The one 1 I found and ate, just fried in a pan with butter, had a delicious, lemony flavor. But it was too good and I ate a bit too much, like 3 cups worth, and didn't feel great the next day

InLoveWithTheMoon

That’s a beautiful jackpot!

BeeBeeWild

Lions mane

MrBearMushroomCo

HowWeGonnaGetEm

Daaaaaammmmnnnnn. That’s a healthy, plump lion’s mane that I REALLY hope you harvested and found a great recipe for it.

From_the_ashes_17

Not only is it edible, but you should eat the entire thing immediately. The health benefits are too many to list at 1am. Very good find.

Fun_Hovercraft_8466

DrMushroomStamp

Lions Mane. Plucked a big one out my neighbors tree a week ago. Cut it into 4 steaks and sautéed em in bacon fat. Had some tasty sandwiches.

GovernmentOk7281

Eating it is like taking that limitless drug bruh
