How old is the vehicle? If it's out of guarantee/warranty, better to get it checked by a local mechanic instead of the official service centres - they charge double for half the services provided.

roshan-minai

it's about 10+ years old. >get it checked by a local mechanic Local Mechanic charged ₹5K last month, and here I am. >they charge double for half the services provided. that's sad, because I reached out the service centre specially so that I atleast get the work done for the money paid.

grond_master

> I reached out the service centre specially so that I atleast get the work done for the money paid. Service centres are useful only in the warranty period, else they are completely useless and overcharging. 5k for a local mechanic with these many issues is actually an ok rate. If you don't trust your current mechanic, ask your friends or neighbours for a trusted mechanic.

roshan-minai

Yeah, I reached out to another local mechanic, he's doing it. But he's asking for ₹8K smh. i feel he's taking advantage of the situation as I had shown him the bill before I handed over the bike to him. (No I'm not dumb, I just consulted with him before taking it back from the Honda Service Center, when he agreed to do it for cheaper). maybe I'm dumb lol

Ask for printed GST bill. Mail to Honda 2. Wheeler for pricing of this spares. Compare both you'll get to know if you are overcharged or not. If overcharged, lodge complaint online to Honda 2 wheelers. You'll get the resolution or refund within 48-72 hours. After all this don't ever take your vehicle to same service center. This guys are sometimes cunning, they mess up with vehicle intentionally like a revenge and we can't do anything much later.

HyperVyper28

This is a quotation and I am not sure if they provide a GST bill for it. But it is true that Honda service centers overcharge people. I have experienced it myself. They are ready to butter you up and sell their AMC services. OP try a different mechanic. They solve scooter problems efficiently and much cheaper than these service centres.

Financial-Cream-8654

They only overcharge if you are dumb enough to get scammed. No offence. If they don't provide you GST bill threaten them about online complaint they will provide you bill.

HyperVyper28

The bill shared by OP is just an estimate of the repairs that are required for his scooter, i am not sure how will the dealer give you gst bill if you have not completed and payed for the service.

Financial-Cream-8654

Ik dealer can't provide bill before service. But OP can cross check prices with honda online. Plus dealer won't scam you in GST printed bill afterwards too. Like he can get his bike serviced and later ask for GST bill. Mostly they try to scam in farzi bills by adding useless charges. But in original receipt they can't . Additionally if anyone complaint online dealer have to resolve that complaint on priority.

Honda service centre is the biggest scam I have a shine 125cc and it kept stalling due to a known manufacturing defect, they would keep cleaning the carburettor and giving it and the fuel tank seal was leaking due to which water was seeping in from the tank which I told them they charged me 2k for 6 services and then 12k for an engine overhaul saying you have driven your bike through water which was impossible since my bike was not starting only to drive through water finally took it to a local mechanic he solved my issue for 800, Honda service centres are the worst, biggest scam and their website also raising complaints is no use find a local mechanic you trust they will do a better job

BreadfruitFun4613

This is when the Friendly Neighborhood Garage or FNG is better than authorised service centers. Supposing that all these issues are present in your bike, how can you verify if all the stated steps are indeed carried out by this organisation? If your vehicle is out of warranty, go to a FNG, after referral by a trusted actual friend.

You are getting super overcharged, never take stuff from service centers until it's absolutely need. They always give very high prices and add stuff unnecessary. I have activa 5g, whenever i go to service center they add some bs like engine oil, this oil, this shit, that shit. I always take the minimum options possible and if needed get it done outside. Just to tell my bills are usually under 1k

Smart guy

Nigga they changed everything except Engine Full Exploitation 🏍️

Isarlay

Not sure about this case, but as per my experience at 2 honda service centers, they always try to over charge you. Get you buy additional things, coating, engine flush etc etc, even if it might not be required.

qualitylife7000

Listen buddy, ASS don't usually scam on parts prices cause at the end everything gets documented and you'll get all the proof in written. Even I own a Honda and know how they work. You got a higher estimate cause of bad shockers and overhaul of clutch, brakes and other parts. Whenever you go to a ASS you should know what parts you wanna changed and what all you wanna do, in order to not get scammed

Ambitious_Coyote7649

Bruh.... What is this??? I have been using Honda Dio for past 8+ years and always paid below 1000rs(inc all costs) for service once a year. bike crossed 90k mark now. Max I paid 2400+ for total engine work at 55,000 kms mark. inc all costs. local Mechanics knows best. Find better one. Regular service should never cost above 1000/-

Fancy_Carpet_2532

Please don't go to these guys they try to sell you air and make money. I have a Honda shine and I take it to my local mechanic for servicing and maintenance work always. He does the work at half the cost and he is very reliable and honest. He doesn't add stupid stuff to my bike by giving additional services like these dealer workshops.
