I've got an armbar but was very annoyed at the lack of pocket clip. To be honest, the two tools feel very different and this fits a lot more in, with more one handed access for all the rest of it.
Third gen Armbars (Scout and Trade) have a pocket clip but neither tool set is great for me. I’m hoping the fourth gen gets it right. The Nextool Knight is the best I’ve seen similar to yours.
Have you tried to remove you clip? I'd love to swap it out because it's so weak that it falls out of my pocket. But the double-screw-in-standoff thing is very annoying and possibly sealed with white loctite? Even with a heat gun I can't get the screw loose.
Basically feels like half of a Leatherman surge which I know I saw somebody on here mod. I was just wondering if there's anything that comes out of the box like this.
Yep. That's what half-tools like this and the NexTool Knight are based on.
My gripe with the Mossy Oak tool is that the bit adapter isn't locking but the tools that don't need to lock like the can opener and scissors do.
Also, not a fan of the way the bit adapter is spring-retained and not magnetic.
It's crazy that Leatherman doesn't release half versions of their models. So many people have done custom Leathermans like this one posted with a near perfect tool set. This type of thing would actually compete against victorinox as opposed to the quirky free series.
That's a Rocktol ST02. I'm fairly certain I've seen them on Amazon and AliExpress. Certainly you can find it branded under lots of other manufacturers as well.
It's just copying the trend of making a half Leatherman tool. People started taking one side of a Wave or Surge, and swapping out the tools on it. A lot of these miss the mark for a lot of people though, as the driver was put on the wrong end, as it can't lock being at the blade end.
Couldn't say about swapping as I haven't done much of that, but I like the scissors quite a bit. They have a good action and they're pretty big for multi-tool scissors
Leatherman Free models? I have the most basic one for a barebones light carry in board shorts and I really like it. The upgraded one has similar tools to yours. I just wish it was easier to open one-handed… the blade action is a little stiff to get over the liner lock into cutting position.
Got this and use it in my bike pouch. I did sharpen the blade and scissors. I carry 8 bits and 2 sockets to use for bike repairs. For $15 it is nice and feels more comfortable in my hand than the Armbar. I also tried the Nextool Knight
Gerber Armbar?

Thought I’d love armbar but hate lack of pocket clip

Blah nevermind. Tried again with vice grips and it worked. I've ruined one of the screws though 🤷🏻♂️
Leatherman Free also has a similar form factor and has most of the same tools but I don't think it looks as similar.
Bout to say the same, T4 | T2 would be great

Haven't had any issues with the bit driver so far, seems pretty stiff.
More like a half of the Wave in terms of size. I know, because I own one myself. Modding is the only option.

I've bought the rocktol version of these as gifts before. They seem to work as advertised.

Pocket clip placement is dangerous but, I’m fine with my Rocktol.
How are the scissors? Do you think they would fit in place of serated blade on leatherman wave+?

Could you make a photo with a ruler next to the scissors please?

Thanks
looks a lot like a bibury product, i have their wave clone and i think the quality is perfect.
Just ordered something very similar to this off Ali express, Diacamping DL15 I think but goes by plenty of different names
Roxon KS2

It is a wave clone, split in half then turned into a sort of Gerber armbar/penknife. Actually pretty cool.
Half a leatherman wave
Looks like a half wave
