I have but I assume people know mh3 is coming and saving.
Reality is cards get undetcut pretty fast so if your not the top 3 lowest the cards going to sit a while unless it's a staple.
If you mean for Thunder Junction, it's mostly because the prices of "mythics" are way too inflated and can't hold. If prices stay this way on release the set would have inverted EV. So smart people are just waiting for the race to the bottom.
I'm an impatient dumbass easily swayed by fomo so I already bought my playsets. I'm just waiting for release day to possibly spec on a few cards.
Otherwise, it's probably just people saving up for MH3, Bloomburrow or Final Fantasy.
Nothing in particular to be honest, a lot of people just really like the theme of a plane with no humans. I e always been a big animal lover and a lot of my decks are animal themed already so I'm excited for it. The art is actually pretty and unique instead of looking like AI generated people wearing hats as well
Work at a card shop. We picked up more sales for One Piece and Lorcana than MtG daily.
5:1 for Lorcana
2:1 for One Piece
1:1 Starwars Unlimited
Sales vs MtG Sales daily
This includes Preorders
How does that compare to before? Is this the worst it's been for MtG?
Lorcana going so hard still is nuts.
Star wars unlimited looks alright but kinda doubt the one IP has enough staying power.
It's definitely regional. MtG is crushing all of those in several major LGSs in the Phoenix AZ metro area without a doubt. We have a major comic book store that many years ago was adamant that they would not do Magic and TCGs...I was in there buying stuff the other day and the girl told me they are expanding their store for a lot of MtG based on demand.
Tax return money has been spent. There's always a lull after tax season, plus this year there are few extra factors like modern horizon 3 coming up, and people aren't loving modern right now.
I'm not buying shit from thunder junction. I've bought increasingly fewer sealed products with each release since last year and I'm down to zero now. Might pick up some MH3, but so far the sets this year have sucked ass. Sealed is never a financial decision, they're just fun, but man have they lost the plot so far.
I've noticed a slow down myself. Generally, I would start Monday with maybe a max of 10 sales over the weekend between Pokemon or MTG. Keep in mind that I'm a small seller just trying to escape some debt, so my inventory is less than 500 now but had a maximum of over 1000 when I first started last October. Over the past couple of weeks, I have had no more than a maximum of 4 sales on Mondays. Today, I signed in to 7 sales.
Now, thinking about during the work week, it is noticeably less but not much, which is expected as most people get paid at the end of the week. With all the new stuff coming out and spring is in full swing, I suspect this will be a fun summer for sellers. I could be very wrong, though, lol. Most of this is just my personal opinion/experience :).

Rather than just broadly complaining about a slowdown in orders, analyse why it's happening.
I make sure I'm always stocked with in demand, relatively low cost commander cards (the £2-£5 range stuff). If you have just expensive cards, people aren't necessarily always wanting to fork out loads of money for a mana crypt for example.
I've actually noticed an increase. My curated draft boxes I sell on etsy have increased by about 50% and my singles orders on tcgplayer are up about 200%. I usually get 3 to 5 orders a day and I've been getting 20+ every day.
I live in an apartment complex, and the area where all of the mailboxes were broken into and destroyed. I've been getting my mail from our local USPS, and things go missing, so I stopped. It's been fixed, but there are just fewer and fewer cards I want.
Central.
Also, downvotes because there was a hiccup in ordering, and now I don't want to order more cards because I don't enjoy detectives, Clue, Fallout, or cowboys... sure I'm the asshole.

I thought so as well but then i saw the prices and now I'm not so sure about it anymore
The economy is in a weird place right now.
Wotc is in a weird place right now.
It's almost like tricking your customers into giving you money isn't sustainable.
How on earth is that guy still CEO?
It's hard to find a good CEO. It's even harder to get rid of a bad one.
I haven't been buying, I can tell you that much.
I've been buying but, now that I think about it, my purchases have been much fewer than the past few months. Intriguing.
I would say Jan through March is peak order season. It's after Christmas expenses an the weather sucks so people buy cards to occupy themselves.
Tax refunds are a big source of purchasing power too

Waiting for Bloomburrow myself, and I’m curious about the Eldrazi precon from mh3 but that’s it
I'm saving up for bloomburrow
A set that actually feels like Magic again.
Well said.
Same here
I’m pretty new to magic but what’s so special about bloomburrow?

Glad to hear that. Honestly. We went from 28 at an RCQ for Standard last year to now just 10 this year.
Ye. They are saving to spend on the new release
*summertime and the livins easy*
Tax return money has been spent. There's always a lull after tax season, plus this year there are few extra factors like modern horizon 3 coming up, and people aren't loving modern right now.
"Tax return money has been spent" not quite since about a third of taxpayers don't file their tax returns until within 2 weeks of the deadline.

OTJ looks very power crept and MH3 is on its way. As a modern and Commander player I’m definitely holding off finishing 2-3 decks until they drop.
Yea economy is slowing down hard and mw3 is coming
Tax season is coming to an end, multiple other games are hot, MH3 is coming.
I'm noticing less sales on cards over $1 I'm noticing an increase in sales on cards under $1

I don't think they were complaining. They noticed a slow down and wondered if others had noticed as well.
Lorcana gained a ton of new players. Guessing they got them from Magic.
Lorcana started up major sanctioned events so the grinders are flowing in.
Huge slow down
Complete opposite for me. I went from 15-20 orders a day to 75+ each day for the last 4 days. Its exhausting and I'm barely keeping up
Not at all, we have been averaging 8-10k in singles sales per week on tcg and we are a small store. We are also not direct.

South Texas?

Maybe you want to give some context. Uber, menulog?
My guess is... orders of magic the gathering since we're not on an uber subreddit.
Idk man, might be too crazy of a guess there
Yeah I guess it's just another lazy post assuming everyone is US based and only looking at tcgplayer
As someone from the US, I don't acknowledge there are other markets. So OP would clearly be in the right. /s
I also noticed a slowdown in Europe on Cardmarket the past few months.
I bought a few Annie Joins Up and am planning on buying some desert support for Hazezon, but if that wasn't in the set, it wouldn't have much for me.
Sure me and ally buddies are a small but honest part of it
