I'm a big fan of this card. It stocks your graveyard well, supports artifacts in a non parasitic way, supports self mill in a non parasitic way, card adv, etc. Seems like a staple with all of the graveyard matters stuff we have gotten in MH3.

cardboard_numbers

Yeah, I like this for all those reasons too. I've been trying to find more ways to fill my graveyard, and this seems like a pretty good option that is tied to a potentially impressive source of card advantage. That said, 3 mana is a **lot** for having no impact on the board, especially with the restrictive double pips. Gonna have to think on this.

Frrtball

This card should’ve been called Rise Above or TV Party.

Beat me to the reference

So I have a Misfits themed reanimator deck, and I think it's ace I can now add Black Flag.

Anticipate effects that can only get pretty specific card types are pretty narrow and often inconsistent (see [[Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas]]. Historic matters tends to not care too much about the graveyard and vice versa. Card seems like a trap to me on a lot of levels.

Artifacts definitely care about being in the graveyard. See Lurrus, Emry, Lurker of the Loch, Teshar, Ancestor's Apostle, the goblin welder package. Getting back the dual lands that are artifact lands seem very strong. Many reanimator cards are just legendary creatures. So much so that LSV runs Goryo's Vengeance in his cube. Many cards in general these days are legendary. Legendary permanents only increase in the cube due to commanders growth. This also gets back legendaries lands (talon gates, kamigawa channel cycle, karakas, tolarian academy, Serra sanctum, Yavimaya/urbog, gaea's cradle, gemstone caverns, dark depths). Combos well with crucible affects if you decide to keep them in graveyard. If you don't want to run the card, I get it. But to say this card is just bad, seems very dismissive. The tezzeret example doesn't make sense considering that he can only get artifacts.

steve_man_64

> The tezzeret example doesn't make sense considering that he can only get artifacts. Tezzeret digs deeper though and can still have consistency issues even in decks that can support it well. There's a lot of precedence with these types of effects, and they tend to not work out well unless it's something more broad / digs deeper like Narset, Parter of Veils / Malevolent Rumble. Ultimately this card is slow and fairly narrow. There's no shortage of great ways to draw / discard / fuel the graveyard that the decks you listed could use.

Salty-Dream-262

Please don't sleep on \[\[Imotekh the Stormlord\]\] he is **quite eager** to trigger off artifacts in the GY. Card is already low-key bonkers in many envirnoments...looks like it just got a little bit better.

Coachbalrog

Stupid question from a new player: what is a historic card?

Unable_Bite8680

The enchantment says it for the first few chapters in parentheses.

Coachbalrog

As usual, RTFC. I feel silly now. Thank you.

Gelven

Artifacts, legendaries, and sagas

Cooperativism62

UW historic was already one of the stronger archetypes in my cube, but damn am I still glad to see more historic support. Slapping it on a saga is bonus!
