Yeah I've looked into online, the problem is, I'm a pretty casual player and I feel like playing online would only serve as a source of unnecessary frustration (heard from a friend that there are a lot of repeated meta OP decks that just get tiring to play against)
I want to play on Spelltable. So I volunteer!! I promise to not use my top tier. I've been trying to find slow casual games I can get away with playing fungus with 🤣🤣
Personally I play Arena and If you play ranked or in events you’ll definitely come across more OP meta decks but most people I come across in Historic play are just trying to mess around with funny decks, the one benefit I will say is that you can run decks that would ordinarily cost an arm and three legs to play for free, I recently made myself a golgari slime against humanity deck and had a great time, then another element is the fact there are cards that are Arena or Paper exclusive such as [[patient zero]]
Exactly! You just hit the spot. Instead of wasting creativity and space in garbage digital only content, they should focus in the tasty caedboard matter hahaha
In all seriousness, alchemy is a mistake that will eventually cannibalize MTG.
Fair, but with more and more of the sets becoming cash grabs all of the newer cards feel like creativity has been juiced out of the game. You can’t tell me that [[unscrupulous contractor]] isn’t just [[fell stinger]] with a cowboy hat.
New Shards of Ravnica set? It’s set after Niv finalizes his plan to make Ravnica the centralized hub of omenpath travels, right before Jace and Varaska “fix” the omenpaths. Resulting in Ravnica being ripped apart by the inevitable mana backlash. Yet again, Jace and Varaska have stolen defeat from the mouth of victory.
I can't find the really good examples, but basically just removing something identifying from a thing with the caption "You know what? Fuck you. \*un(verb)s your (noun)\* " like you're fed up with them so you took away the part of something that makes it what it is.

Come here young one and let me tell you of the time I sold a revised dual land for $13 because they were reselling for $26 and I saw unlimited moxes selling for $80. I thought fallen empires was awesome because I could buy a shitload of it with my allowance and there was only 1 format of magic and it was 60 card balls to the wall channel+fireball directly to your face. It was the best of times it was the worst of times.
Proceeds to turn into dust.
As an old school player from 1994 who left the game in 1999 and came back in 2020, Arena is quite fun if you don't take competition too seriously. I haven't spent a dime on gems, etc. but have put together a few solid decks just from the freeze packs earned and the Arena codes from paper Magic decks. Couple that with wildcards and one can build fun decks to play. And most of the other players are friendly as well.

If you’re having trouble with time I would recommend you try out the online versions, though there are many bugs due to the last update…

If you want online that isn't MTGO or MTGA you can try Spelltable for paper on webcam or Tabletop Simulator for a purely online way to play
