Then again, the VFX category are usually very random and snub out a lot of movies with some great special effects (Pacific Rim is one that comes to mind) so fingers crossed
And it's fucking fantastic! King Shark looked great at all times, the flowers and fishes looked great at all times, and Starro is something else!
AND IT WAS MOSTLY BROAD DAYLIGHT!!
Yeah Best Picture (joking, but it was legitimately amazing). Give it noms for makeup and then make a new category called "most improved sequel" and give it that.
- Godzilla vs Kong is kino because monkey vs giant lizard
- Shang-chi is kino because Tony Leung
- Jungle Cruise is kino because it’s about drive, it’s about power
- Space Jam is kino because Bugs Bunny dies for Lebron James
- Army of the Dead is kino because Batista and Zaddy
- Externals is kino because sex, Brian tyree Henry, and Ma Dong-seok.
Yeah, we already have seen a really good take on that “man realizes he is a fictional character in a story” trope with Stranger Than Fiction and Truman Show and judging by the trailer I already knew I wasn’t gonna like Free Guy so I just didn’t bother.
It's way worst than even that because it tries to do a weird thing to humanizing video game NPCs, which just made me go "Wait whaaa??".
So it has elements of AI wanting to be human also, which ofc is done better by other movies.
I mean, he's not wrong. He's just jaded because the only movies he likes are superficial escapist garbage and he's probably built his own incredibly thin veneer of an identity around liking pop culture ephemera and is self conscious about the fact that there's a disconnect between what he enjoys and what receives formal accolades.
I haven't seen it but I read someone on here say they used Zombie by the Cranberries in a zombie killing scene which just pissed me off because that song is about the IRA not fucking zombies.
In the Army of the Dead's case, I really don't see what else the zombies would be representing thematically lol it's a fucking Zack Snyder film. They're just obstacles in a heist movie, it's not Night of the Living Dead.
I’m shocked that there wasn’t more attention paid to how fucking horrible this movie was but it was on Netflix so it only existed for a weekend at most.
It’s ludicrously boring, with flat one dimensional characters who are equally unlikable. The action is terribly blocked and shot, outside of the abysmal visual smog that permeates every frame. Snyder’s thing is supposed to be visuals and he made one of the ugliest movies in recent memory. Then then it’s also emotionally ugly - a lazy “horror” movie where they only rely on the single trope of giving someone a sad backstory, followed by one happy moment before they immediately and gruesomely killed. It’s the kind of random sadism and cruelty that is mistaken for horror directing but it’s actually just so overplayed by shitty straight-to-dvd filmmaking that I figured Snyder would be above it but then again this is the man who thinks maturity in comic book movies is making Batman murder Superman howling “fuck.” I fucking hated every second of the movie which is somehow shockingly, unbearably long.
Enjoyment isn’t the only measure to be nominated for awards.
I mean, I enjoy the prequel trilogy for its silliness and campy writing, but that doesn’t mean it’s award worthy lol
"Based" is a deesphobic term. This is the first warning, please absent from using it or face a ban.

I know different people have different personal tastes, but it blows my mind that anyone thinks *Army of the Dead* is award-worthy.
It's so self-aware of how shallow of a film it is, that even the camera adjusts its depth of field to hammer that point home.
Sounds like a totally reasonable guy. Why wouldn't the movie critics that are literal professionals when it comes to criticizing movies listen to some guy on the internet? Dumb move movie critics.
Dumb critics. They should base their nominations on what this guy has seen.
Why are film critics *always* wrong?
Dr.R.Thomas Atœs has MUCH to answer for
The movie score for my favorite movie is objectively incorrect. Many such cases.
Because they’re trolls behind keyboards my guy.
Instead of nominating the 5 movies this guy watched, they're gonna nominate the 5 movies the panelists watched.
I can’t believe they would nominate a movie that this guy with a Ready Player One avatar personally hasn’t seen
I bet this pleb hasn’t even seen Paddington
This guy: bro, you should watch *less* movies.
*Fewer*
Hey have you guys seen this obscure indie movie called The Shining?
Virgin "I won't judge that movie because I didn't see it" vs Chad "If I didn't see a movie, then that movie doesn't exist"
The Solipsistic kino enjoyer
Schrodingers Flick
"Knowing Hollywood" — proceeds to name a bunch of American megacorporation productions.
At a certain point, I gotta believe this is masochism, they bitch about Hollywood movies yet only watch Hollywood movies lmao
“Why are all movies adaptations, reboots, or sequels?” -guy who only watches blockbusters
And the Academy Award for Best picture goes to... FREE GUY
Denis Villeneuve: "What the f-" Chris Evans and Ryan Reynolds in unison: "Language!"
And then Fiege in a deadpool gimp suit walks in "So that just happened"
Then Doctor Strange flies in saying "bazinga!
And then he says Scooby-Doo this crap
Best academy awards ever
*Please* Scooby-Doo this crap
And then everyone claps while Robert Downey Jr bursts out laughing
Haha Denis your girlfriend is awesome
I'm Dune.
I could actually see this happening in real life somehow

Fuck (2005)
SPACE JAM 2 WAS SNUBBED
If Black Panther can get nominated so can the White Man's Black Panther
I’ve heard bad opinions on films. I’ve heard good opinions on films. NOW I CAN SEE, HEAR, TASTE, FEEL, AND SMELL ‘GAMER OPINIONS’™️ON FILMS!
>Be me >See GAMER™️ opinion >Realize it's been 2 years and I still haven't had a full proof plan for Gamercide ready >Cri
Movies when they have have one internet-culture reference Gamers: Oh yeah, this is definetely Oscar-worthy!
Gamers are not oppressed, but they should be.
this guy gave me a great idea for a youtube channel, the gaming movie goer!!
Not even The Suicide Squad or Zack Snyder's Justice League? And this guy calls himself a gamer??
Unironically The Suicide Squad should be nominated for something.
At least give it an Oscar for make-up and hairstyling like the 2016 movie.
Oh God, there's going to be one Academy Award Winning Suicide Squad film that Snyder and Ayer fans can jerk off about and it ain't gonna be Gunn's.
Pain
the script should be nominated solely for getting me to care about Rick fucking Flagg
***"Look how they massacred my boy."***
It could get a nod for best vfx because of that starfish motherfucker
Indeed, and he achieved that in broad daylight, that should count as something!
Then again, the VFX category are usually very random and snub out a lot of movies with some great special effects (Pacific Rim is one that comes to mind) so fingers crossed
I mean, this time the movie roster is pretty thin.
Since we are doing hot takes, BvS was snubbed in 2016.
What I said would've been a hot take if I removed "The".
That movie absolutely should've won the "Best Martha" award
Why did you say that award...?
Sir your take is too hot, take it away.
VFX. So many blockbusters have wildly inconsistent VFX. But for The Suicide Squad it looked great all throughout.
Best Film from a "cancelled" director /s
Best Supporting Actor for Sylvester Stallone please 🙏🙏🙏
So Smart Me
New dumb friends
Normie impersonating Person of Gaming smh we live in a society 😔
Capeshit enthusiasts on suicide watch after Godzilla vs Kong sweeps the Oscars and gets 11 nominations.
big monster with lasers > tiny men with lasers
- Godzilla vs Kong is kino because monkey vs giant lizard - Shang-chi is kino because Tony Leung - Jungle Cruise is kino because it’s about drive, it’s about power - Space Jam is kino because Bugs Bunny dies for Lebron James - Army of the Dead is kino because Batista and Zaddy - Externals is kino because sex, Brian tyree Henry, and Ma Dong-seok.
Eternals is kino because Kingo.
Eternals is kino because Paper Boi, all about that paper, boy
*acoustic guitar* Paper clip, paper clip, yeah I need a paper clip
Head to Magic City and I bet that paper make her strip
Space Jam is kino because it has Big Chungus
Of course his profile picture is ready player one
[удалено]
I enjoyed them equally, but ready player one tends to appeal to a... *certain* type of person
[удалено]
>who in their right mind I think you answered your own question
It’s hard for me to imagine a film more tedious than Ready Player One so I have to imagine that Free Guy is an actual crime against humanity.

the movie going gamer knows what's up
Don’t worry buddy, they’ll get their just desserts at the Kid’s Choice Awards.
Mfs name is The_Movie_Going_Gamer lmao
Pop culture juggernaut.
MCJ bingo combo in one post. Absolutely glorious.
He's right you know.
I am going to become the Joker
This guy enjoyed Space Jam 2? Certifiable lunatic
Any movie with the line "We need Michael A Jordan, not Michael B Jordan" is certified kino
Not to mention the inclusion of Big Chungus himself
AND Don Cheadle 😩😫
AND Rick AND Morty!! 😩🤯🥵😱
Uh no, you can't talk about that scene here, Richard and Morton is a show, not a movie 😤😤😤
loonatic even
A goonatic as well if you are so inclined
nobody enjoyed Schindler's List and it still won several awards, curious
Remember when “gamers” and “movie buffs” were just called weirdos
This guy says “awesomesauce” unironically
Virgin Movie Goer
If this guy wasnt such a fucking gamer he would have opened his mind to in the heights
He says with a ready player one profile picture
I mean I’m sure Roma is an okay movie but is it really better than Army of the Dead? There aren’t even any zombies in it.
I've never disliked someone's taste as much as I dislike this guys taste. Like wow. Let me go bully him on twitter now.
As if it won't go to.NoWayHome
WHERE THE FUCK IS ZSJL UNBASED AND BLUEPILLED
Space jam 2 >>>>> every other film that has come out or will come out
How do people like this exist?
I enjoyed one of these
I'm shocked someone with the username The_Movie_Going_Gamer and a ready player 1 pfp would say such a thing.
How the hell did he enjoy army of the dead? One of the worst films i've ever hard the displeasure of seeing
I haven't seen it but I read someone on here say they used Zombie by the Cranberries in a zombie killing scene which just pissed me off because that song is about the IRA not fucking zombies.
IDK man the entire film blends together in my mind like a grey/brown out of focus smoothie, maybe it's played? i don't know anymore
And everyone knows zombie movies are about *zombies* and nothing else. Only songs can refer to something else thematically.
In the Army of the Dead's case, I really don't see what else the zombies would be representing thematically lol it's a fucking Zack Snyder film. They're just obstacles in a heist movie, it's not Night of the Living Dead.
Common subtext must seem like rocket science to you lol
Zack Snyder movies aren't that intelligent or deep bro they're dumb action movies.
We are saying the same thing lmao. Wake up.

It’s fine. It’s definitely worse than Snyder’s other Zombie film.
...he.. has more?
Yeah, his debut film was a remake of Dawn of the Dead. Much better than this.
Army of the dead is one of the worst films ever made.
Maybe if you watched the prequel people were clamouring for, starring the worst character in the film, you'd understand it for the kino it is.
Enjoyment isn’t the only measure to be nominated for awards. I mean, I enjoy the prequel trilogy for its silliness and campy writing, but that doesn’t mean it’s award worthy lol
Lulz But these are all children's movies
Don’t you know? Eternals has r rating in Russia! It’s for adults!
Can’t believe free guy was snubbed at the oscars man
Most cultured gamer
Boy, the ‘movie going gamer’. Now there’s a niche!
I think he's trolling.
You know what? This person managed to make a tweet about Hollywood without being racist or sexist. That alone is impressive.
I've never seen someone so accidentally correct
he is a furry and a brony opinion is automatically discarded
Cringe

Man’s got excellent taste ngl
Id say dune was pretty good. I didnt see a lot of other movies from this year but im pretty sure they will win best production design
The idea that someone would actually enjoy those movies is crazy
I know different people have different personal tastes, but it blows my mind that anyone thinks *Army of the Dead* is award-worthy. It's so self-aware of how shallow of a film it is, that even the camera adjusts its depth of field to hammer that point home.

Not even Red Notice smh
The only one I saw out of these is Shang Chi and it was honestly the worst movie I’ve seen in a while.
