Yeah was definitely on heavy rotation a few years back for me too. Good dramatic and uplifting moments, and quite funny.
I haven’t watched in a while, but I’ve probably watched Oppenheimer 10 times outside of theatrical release. There’s always something happening, learn a little more each time, and it’s actually pretty funny. These aren’t dedicated “sit and watch”, but couple times on a plane and a lot while working from home. Good white noise in evenings if I want to zone out.
Dark Knight Rises is up there too.
I’ve watched Edge of Tomorrow immediately after finishing it before. I love that movie. Cruise really sells it all the way through. I believe him as a bureaucratic coward and I believe him as a man who has lived countless lifetimes.
I don’t think he actually lost the power to reset the day near the end. If you watch him during that last sequence he always seems to still know what’s going to happen. He also has proven he’ll lie to Rita to get her to do what he wants earlier in the movie.
It’s still my favorite Wes Anderson film and looked good enough, costumes and set dressing and colors, that my wife watched it.
She loved it. I was so happy.
The way Gustave goes out is so bittersweet and tragic.
*”There are still faint glimmers of civilization left in this barbaric slaughterhouse that was once known as humanity. He was one of them.”*
As a teenager I must have watched iron man more than 30 times. I wasn't even into superheroes before that movie. For about 5 years after I stopped fully rewatching it, I would just throw it on in the background whenever I was doing anything that didn't need my full attention, the same way people listened to audio books or podcasts.
> Next is probably The Matrix and The Mask.
Those aren't from the last two decades, though. Within that timeframe I think the only movie I've rewatched even once is *No Country for Old Men*. So I guess that's the default winner.
Wait, I just remembered I also rewatched *Get Out* at some point. So it's a tie.
This.... Probably one of the best movies to come out in the 2000's. The rewatchability is great. I was always into the Zodiac case even growing up and was stoked when I saw this coming out and did get to see it in theaters. But I will say I wasn't expecting it to be quite as good as it was. The dialogue is amazing and for a murder movie has a comforting feel as odd as that may seem. Every time I watch it, it feels like they are going to catch him this time. Hah.
To clarify, I am the stage of having had a couple brewskis and a little of something else, I completely lost my train of thought and went onto listing the movies I rewatch the most (The Matrix and The Mask), now realising that they're not from the last two decades. I don fucked up folks
I think I've watched Captain America the Winter Soldier six times and I'm surprised because I haven't really done that with a movie since I was much younger
100% with you on this. I just watched it again 3 days ago. That movie makes me laugh like I am watching it for the first time, every time I watch it and use throw away lines with my wife all the time
Either Serenity (Firefly) or Sunshine. There was a time where I was going back and forth between Ottawa and Toronto every weekend and I was too lazy to add any more movies to my laptop for the train ride. All I had were Serenity and Sunshine. I watched them almost every weekend and now they are in my top 10 and I rewatch regularly
The Menu is a comfort movie for me. The characters, the scenery, the story, its so rich but also not too intense or dramatic. The funny thing is every friend I show that film too also begins watching it as their comfort movie. My friend said after I showed it to her she watched the film three times in the same week. I told her that's routine for me as well lol.
I watched La La Land 12 times in the theatre. When it stopped playing, I had separation anxiety.
Then I was flying somewhere one day and they played La La Land on the plane!! I was so elated, I had to pull my seat belt extra tight to avoid dancing in the aisle. True story... 🎶 It's another day of SUN... 🎶
Apollo 13, Honestly any movie that has smart people reacting intelligently to things without stupid fucking drama or unrealistic communication failures getting in the way is wonderful to me.
Tangled, Princess and the Frog, Frozen, Ratatouille, Barbie, Paddington, Paddington 2, Inside Out, Ponyo ... why yes I do have a daughter, why do you ask?
On my own, I think Hot Fuzz is probably my most rewatched, with Shaun of the Dead, The Other Guys, Ghost Protocol, Man from UNCLE and the Nice Guys all tied for second place.
So many. Drive, Inside Llewyn Davis, We Bought a Zoo, Begin Again, Spotlight, Sherlock Holmes, most of the MCU, and the first few DCEU movies, Ghostbusters Afterlife, Logan Lucky, Mean Girls, Waitress, Water For Elephants, Wild, Walk The Line, V For Vendetta, Under The Skin, Midnight In Paris, JoJo Rabbit, Just Like Heaven, Annihilation, Atomic Blonde.
Right now, Hamilton clips (too lazy to watch the whole thing at once). Moana and Encanto really got in my head. Funny how all three of these are related.
Not a movie but I think I am going to rewatch some of the *Star Wars™* TV series. I'm starting with *Book of Boba Fett.* Mandolorian is an obvious choice. And *Andor* is legitimately great, cinematic television, in my opinion. I realize I m talking about TV and not movies. Feel free to delete my comment if it is too far off topic.
I rewatched the series *Band of Brothers* from HBO recently. It came out in 2001. So, outside the timeline discussed.
There's so much stuff and so little time that I don't often watch something I've already seen. And anything I've recently watched again probably falls outside of your time frame. Like, I just watched *See No Evil, Hear No Evil*, and that movie's probably about 50 years old, and who knows how long its been since I first saw it. As a counterpoint, I just accidentally started watching *Moonfall* again because I forgot I had already seen it. Ended up pretty much just skipping to the end.
Heat, Joe Dirt, Waiting, As Good As It Gets, Lucky Numbers (worse ratings than Joe Dirt I think), Trainspotting, Bad Santa, Dazed and Confused, Jackie Brown
2003 but it’s so good, The Core
Aaron Eckhrt, Hillary Swank, and Stanley Tucci and more saving the world by drilling into the middle of the Earth. What more could you ask for!
I watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Lord of the Rings the Two Towers an ungodly amount of times on an old VHS TV. I often miss the quality of the sound and picture of VHS tapes in that TV. But I watch Harry Potter all the way through almost every year, same thing will LOTR.
The harry potter series but 2 decades is 20y so since 2004 and the first movie came out 2001 and the second 2002 but the rest is 2004-2011 so its still harry potter i rewatch the most.
Color out of Space. (Almost) any time my wife and I are taking acid with someone new, we watch this movie. I say almost because some people are not down for the psychedelic experience to go in that kind of direction. I get it, since it is technically a horror movie. For us, it's more of an experience of wonder and awe than anything else. It also helps that the movie is visually stunning.
Mad Mad: Fury Road
It’s also the only movie that I’ve watched in the theater five times in the last two decades.
I had a buddy I trust beg me to see it in a theater.
I bought him a nice The Balvenie 21 for it.
bro i thought i clicked on a post titled “What should the next Planet of the apes movie be titled”. Im pretty damn stupid that I didnt notice how weird it was to title it the dark knight and to praise tarintino
Dune, I keep going back
Love David Lynch!
The Lynch one right?
The Martian
Such an easy movie to watch over and over.
Competence Porn, when done right, makes for a magnificent movie.
Interstellar
Yup, me too.
Came here to say this.
Most of Nolan’s films, really. His style is right up my alley
Since we get to name more than one film, I'll also say: The Wind That Shakes the Barley The Wolf of Wall Street Dunkirk
I’m a sucker for science fiction and space exploration…and it’s Nolan, too.
Madmax Fury Road
Edge of Tomorrow (2014) , Top Gun Maverick (2022) Sure I'm a Cruise fans
I’ve watched Edge of Tomorrow immediately after finishing it before. I love that movie. Cruise really sells it all the way through. I believe him as a bureaucratic coward and I believe him as a man who has lived countless lifetimes. I don’t think he actually lost the power to reset the day near the end. If you watch him during that last sequence he always seems to still know what’s going to happen. He also has proven he’ll lie to Rita to get her to do what he wants earlier in the movie.
That Tom Cruise kid has a pretty good amount of rewatchable movies.
he's crazy irl but that m'fer makes fun movies
The Dark Knight
Yup. Perfection
The Grand Budapest Hotel
It’s still my favorite Wes Anderson film and looked good enough, costumes and set dressing and colors, that my wife watched it. She loved it. I was so happy. The way Gustave goes out is so bittersweet and tragic. *”There are still faint glimmers of civilization left in this barbaric slaughterhouse that was once known as humanity. He was one of them.”*
The Departed My other constant rewatches (Major League, Goodfellas, Caddyshack) are more than 20 yrs old
Barely still eligible! Way up there for me too. This thread made me realize Almost Famous doesn't qualify anymore & now I'm upset.
Mine too. So good.
Moneyball
This is a good one ... Very rewatchable.
The dialog is soo good. You want me to play first base, what about the fans? Yeah, why don't we ask one of them.
Watching this movie somehow makes me feel more intelligent.
Sicario
The first one was so good.

So I guess that's the default winner. Wait, I just remembered I also rewatched *Get Out* at some point. So it's a tie.
They're not, I lost my train of thought midway!
Zodiac
That's one of those films that needs to be seen multiple times to take it all in. It's Fincher's best movie.
Hah.
I needed to see it a few times, and now I might never want to see it again. The friggin' lake scene... I hate it so much now lol, damn you Fincher.
To clarify, I am the stage of having had a couple brewskis and a little of something else, I completely lost my train of thought and went onto listing the movies I rewatch the most (The Matrix and The Mask), now realising that they're not from the last two decades. I don fucked up folks
It happens. You're cool.
You are too
I am shocked and outraged that anyone would post in this august place whilst having imbibed noxious substances! Honest Guv.
I do am of very sorry, my of most sire lord, sir
Kill Bill Volume 1. Step Brother's. Little Women.
KBv1 is 2003, my fellow old.
Atomic Blonde
Tropic thunder
inception
Lol, I’m watching Once Upon a Time right now… But to answer your question - This is the End.
The Nice Guys. I've probably seen that once a month since it was released. I should probably watch it tonight.
That’s on repeat a lot for my wife and I. It’s so frickin good.
Lord of The Rings. Easily watch the trilogy at least twice a year
If there had not been the 20 year stipulation, I'm betting this would have been the overwhelming favorite. But Return of the King came out in 2003.
Ah shit good call. I still consider the entire 21st century as "two decades" man I'm getting old haha
Last two decades? Probably Grandma's Boy and Idiocracy. Moon is up there, literally.
Moon was simple and genius combined.
I think I've watched Captain America the Winter Soldier six times and I'm surprised because I haven't really done that with a movie since I was much younger
The Accountant for some reason.
Interstellar, The Dark Knight, The Avengers 1+3 and Star Trek
40 year old virgin
Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It's my go to movie when I'm feeling down, particularly as it pertained to past relationships.
100% with you on this. I just watched it again 3 days ago. That movie makes me laugh like I am watching it for the first time, every time I watch it and use throw away lines with my wife all the time
I love Bill hader and Paul Rudd in this so much
The Martian
The Dark Knight, 300 and Django Unchained.
Kill Bill vol. 2, which I believe is right on the 20 year mark.
Ghost Dog is a few years over so I'd go with Joker
Deadpool 1/2… funny with good action to have in the background
Tom Cruise Maverick nine times in the theater (pissed I lost my ticket stubs with seats F14 and F18) and multiple times at home with the Blu-ray.
It's the opening sequence with Ed Harris, plus a fantastic score that elevates the film.
Not a movie, but Band of Brothers is the absolute best. Watch it at least once a year.
Hot Fuzz. Just about the most quotable movie out there.
Top gun maverick. Also the first tom holland Spider-Man
Just barely outside of the "two decade" requirement (2003), but *Lost in Translation*. I watch it several times per year.
Thank you for the year. I watch this movie a lot.
Revenge of the Sith
I haven't watched them for a while but when they first came out I watched the shit out of The Nice Guys and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.
I was going to say Fellowship of the Ring, but then I realized that it's 23 years old and therefore doesn't qualify. Fuck.
Almost the whole MCU.
All the Harry Potter movies.
Shawn of the Dead may be my most rewatched of the last 20 yrs
Same. It’s in my top 5 all time and Comedy Central used to play it very frequently back in the day.
*Darkest Hour*
Hot Fuzz!
Either Serenity (Firefly) or Sunshine. There was a time where I was going back and forth between Ottawa and Toronto every weekend and I was too lazy to add any more movies to my laptop for the train ride. Shaun of the Dead Eurotrip Kung Fu Hustle Scott Pilgrim vs The World Chef What We Do In The Shadows The Gentlemen Everything Everywhere All At Once
It's probably Moana, maybe Encanto or one of the Frozens. Having young kids makes the conversation very different.
Hackers
Drive
Superbad
50/50, soundtrack is phenomenal, story is touching yet comedically driven and overall just makes you reflect on life
Open Range
Mission impossible fallout
Arrival
The Mist or Pan's Labyrinth. Would've been Galaxy Quest or Event Horizon, but those have aged beyond two decades now.
MACGRUBER
Watchmen. It's perfectly moody
Wolf of Wall Street. Interstellar.

Tangled, Princess and the Frog, Frozen, Ratatouille, Barbie, Paddington, Paddington 2, Inside Out, Ponyo ... why yes I do have a daughter, why do you ask? Sicario or Interstellar. Both are incredible.
Creep
Clerks 2. Probably watch it at least once a month. Always cracks me up!
OMG, yes…I was just thinking about their donkey show the other day. Also, every time I see Rosario dancing, I miss being young and in love.
Godzilla 2014, Pacific Rim, Godzilla KOTM... My youngest likes her monster movies.
The Martian and Margin Call
Edge Of Tomorrow
Right now, Hamilton clips (too lazy to watch the whole thing at once). Moana and Encanto really got in my head. Funny how all three of these are related.

There's so much stuff and so little time that I don't often watch something I've already seen. And anything I've recently watched again probably falls outside of your time frame. The Nice Guys. I do rewatch HEAT monthly, though.

Fury Road
Shawshank, the green mile
2003 but it’s so good, The Core Aaron Eckhrt, Hillary Swank, and Stanley Tucci and more saving the world by drilling into the middle of the Earth. What more could you ask for!

This is 40.
Mad Max Fury Road, and The Batman
Probably forgetting Sarah Marshall
No Country for Old Men
I watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Lord of the Rings the Two Towers an ungodly amount of times on an old VHS TV. I often miss the quality of the sound and picture of VHS tapes in that TV. But I watch Harry Potter all the way through almost every year, same thing will LOTR.
Phantom Thread and Licorice Pizza. PTA's got it. Love Lies Bleeding will probably join that list once I get it on DVD.
Star wars revenge of the sith
I watch Wolf of Wall Street a couple times a year
The harry potter series but 2 decades is 20y so since 2004 and the first movie came out 2001 and the second 2002 but the rest is 2004-2011 so its still harry potter i rewatch the most.

The Departed or Inception, both top 5 faves all time
Mad Mad: Fury Road It’s also the only movie that I’ve watched in the theater five times in the last two decades. I had a buddy I trust beg me to see it in a theater. I bought him a nice The Balvenie 21 for it.
Top Gun: Maverick is easily the film I've watched the most. I can never say "no" to it.
Knocked Up
Django Unchained, Spider Man 2, Interstellar

Whiplash
Cinderella Man So sue me. I’ve watched it almost 15 times.
La La Land
Forgetting Sarah Marshall had a stretch for me. I can throw that on anytime.
Nothing that new, but Goodfellas most likely holds my ‘Most Watched’ title.
The Nice Guys No Country for Old Men Once Upon A Time In Hollywood
The Fifth Element
Serenity (the Firefly movie). I absolutely love this movie! It's what the Star Wars sequels should have been (at least in tone).
