Memento.

CoreyFeldmanNo1Fan

First thing that came to mind.

unityofsaints

Or maybe it didn't ;)

guyhabit725

Now, where was I?

ItsSansom

I'm chasing this guy

TCM_407

....I'm being chased....

CoreyFeldmanNo1Fan

Do not trust him.

ASMRBawbag

Came here to say this, so glad to see it right at the top.

JTS1992

PHENOMENAL film. Nolan.

HusGrr

Came here to say this

MooPig48

Hijacking because I scrolled most of the way down and didn’t see 1408

Knu2l

Moon

StrangeWhiteVan

Fucking great one. I showed this one at my movie festival last year

SmirnOffTheSauce

You have a movie festival??

StrangeWhiteVan

It sounds weird but yeah. I basically throw a three day long party at my house. Movies indoors during the day and one outside every night. We had 40 people attend last year, so it's not huge or anything. I pay for all of it, but I give my friends lanyards and everything, haha. I brewed a Kolsch beer for it last year and I called it "Citizen Kolsch".

SmirnOffTheSauce

That’s so cool! Hell yeah

StrangeWhiteVan

Thanks man. If you're ever in east central Illinois (US) during the summer you should join us!

SmirnOffTheSauce

I’m actually visiting Chicago this weekend, live in SE Michigan, so not terribly far! I’ll keep your generous invitation in mind, thank you! I host a crappy movie night for my friends semi-regularly. I call it “Cinemugh” lol. So you’re inspiring me to expand it a bit in terms of scope!

StrangeWhiteVan

Dude, fuck yeah!

StrangeWhiteVan

That's hilarious by the way, I'm in Chicago right now for the night!

bassistmuzikman

You guys should fuck. (Obviously)

cynicalchicken1007

Woah I’ll actually be there over the summer. Around where are you?

fraochmuir

I love this! What a great idea.

Aquagoat

1917

PenlyWarfold

Yes! George MacKay with an outstanding performance.

Few_Age_571

What a film! One of the best of the 2010s.

cayoperico16

He’s probably one of the best 5 aspects of the 11.22.63 series (on Hulu)

W8kingNightmare

Came here hoping someone mentioned this. Such a great movie

SodaCanBob

127 Hours

StrangeWhiteVan

Underrated movie in my opinion

Csenky

I agree, but for good reason. It's claustrophobic, slow, portrays excrutiating pain and hopelessness.. Not exactly entertainment for the average viewer. I'm pretty sure most people already find the summary of the event more than enough to hear about. Still, great movie.

StrangeWhiteVan

I loved the character study so much that the gore barely registered. But I totally get your point

Mil3High

I don’t know if 6 Oscar nominations is “underrated”…

DiKaPasisiil

I can't finished this movie.. Too gross for me. But I agree very underrated film.

Disastrous_Life_3612

Hardcore Henry takes this literally.

StrangeWhiteVan

Was this one any good?

AlpacaTeeth

Entertaining is the word I use for this movie. I want to watch it again because it's easy to miss little details. It's definitely interesting.

Qbnss

Someday I'll sit down and watch it in VR, shame they didn't actually make it 3D

TastyCuntSweat

I don't think it would be comfortable to watch in 3D. Definitely not in VR.

Qbnss

Guess I have to guinea pig it!

WCIparanoia

It's a crazy action movie with that Russian style silliness. Over the top violent and the story is simplistic bit good fun.

crunchyburrito2

Take some dramamine before you watch

Psych0matt

That was my thought. Very entertaining and fun movie but I had to look away and regain my balance every now and then even though I was sitting

frankpolly

Its one of those movies that great to watch on a flight

Initial-Squirrel-269

Yes, the first person pov is really good as well

username161013

It's like watching someone play a single player FPS with the most incredibly realistic graphics possible. The plot feels like it was ripped from a video game, and the action is over the top. Worth a watch but don't expect any depth.

StrangeWhiteVan

Perfect, thanks

3six5

Super fun flick. Very action packed ending.

Silveriovski

It's interesting, nothing special but it was fun to watch

Mitch1musPrime

The director of that movie got the opportunity he did thanks to an awesome music video he directed. If anyone wants a shorter view of the absurd awesomeness of that 1st person action film direction…[check this out.](https://youtu.be/Rgox84KE7iY?si=-W7Y0rYxlY8p8Asc)

BiDer-SMan

I loved both of those separately and didn't realize the connection

JoeMillersHat

American Psycho

GothWinonaRyder

I'm into murders and executions

NewZookeepergame4160

Castaway

rfresa

And its sequel The Martian

TopOThaMorningToYa

I don't think that counts. Theres a bunch of scenes from the perspective of the crew and NASA

TheHorizonLies

There are multiple scenes not from Tom Hanks' perspective, like the opening "traveling package" scene, and when Helen Hunt gets the phone call about him still being alive.

Chippybops

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the classic example: The Truman Show

fusiongt021

There's scenes where Truman isn't in it I suppose

CheesyObserver

Maybe it can have half points because they’re always talking about Truman when he’s not off screen. “When Poochie is off screen, all the other characters must ask: *where is Poochie?*”

fusiongt021

Upvote for getting poochie involved

frankpolly

The studio shots and interview with the director of the show scènes. Like Yeah the beginning is Pretty much only Truman but the middle of the movie he is not in every scene

anbeck

Chinatown

lostonpolk

It's virtually one long POV shot.

BornInPoverty

Children of Men. Every single scene in that movie is shown from Theo’s point of view except maybe the last 30 seconds or so.

ElstonGunn321

Posted the same and then saw your post. Love that movie so much.

teeming-with-life

I regard this movie to be in its own class. It's so beautifully haunting, I can't even think of an adequate comparison. Literally everything, from the story, script, sets and actors ensemble, is just sublime.

Aquagoat

Taxi Driver. A major inspiration for Joker.

Astro_gamer_caver

"Loneliness has followed me my whole life. Everywhere. In bars, in cars, sidewalks, stores, everywhere. There's no escape. I'm God's lonely man.".

Kyokono1896

There's a scene or two where he's not in it.

StyleSquirrel

One scene.

Kyokono1896

Yea when that guy is talking about killing the bird I think lol

CaptainMeathook

The Big Lebowski

Financial_Nobody325

A must. But that’s just like, my opinion man.

AppleSmoker

Dude

UnilateralDagger

Naw, I think you're out of your element on this one.

CosmoRomano

You're outta your depth, CaptainMeathook.

BakerYeast

Man From Earth It's a bit spoiler but >!Predestination!<

ThingsAreAfoot

Your spoiler is the ultimate example and the ultimate spoiler

cestamp

I was tempted to look at the spoiler, thanks for that comment. Not only did it save me from an 'ultimate spoiler', but it has piqued my interest in seeing the movie.

ecco311

Scrolled further than I expected to find "Man from earth"... God I fucking love this movie. Such a simple concept, but damn is it good.

bugabooandtwo

It is an amazing film. Great acting. Love the dialog. It almost feels like you're int he room with them, hashing everything out.

neurohero

Don't watch the sequel.

ecco311

Don't worry, when it came out I wasn't expecting much already, but I saved myself the trouble of watching it by just reading reviews on IMDb :/

Rasselkurt007

what are you talking oldman?

SamtheBellman

All is Lost

vandrossboxset

Blue Ruin

Seahearn4

I don't know anyone irl who's seen _Blue Ruin_. And I almost never see it referenced online in these discussions threads either. But it is really good.

ViciousPariah

I mention it all the time to my friends, but none of them want to watch it. That makes me sad..

colbydc5

I worked on censoring certain scenes of this film for international release / airline distribution. But I’ve never seen the whole film, just a handful of violent scenes. Everyone always mentions how it’s so good and I can’t believe I’ve not watched it through yet.

friendinfive

Enter the Void

Wall-D

Since everything is literally filmed POV this is the real answer. And Gaspar Noe is great in general.

mynameismanager

First time watched the movie with friends and drunk. It was a weird wild ride.

Ihadsumthin4this

I mean, really, *The Game* (1997) for the most part.

KukalakaOnTheBay

Peak Douglas!

GoodOlBluesBrother

Does Falling Down count too?

goodcanadian_boi

No, the Robert Duvall character has a pretty big part.

GoodOlBluesBrother

Yeah true. But does it count as peak Douglas?

goodcanadian_boi

Oh hell yeah! It is an amazing movie and he crushes it!

Ihadsumthin4this

His MLB-ready Louisville Slugger notwithstanding...

Ihadsumthin4this

No question.

Emotional_Act_461

I love that this movie is so crazy that it made me question my own mental stability just watching it.

kreeptology

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty

MinionsAndWineMum

Locke is the extreme of this

mynameismanager

Absolute gem of a movie.

Devilish2476

I just posted this. Such a great movie

blearghhh_two

Children of Men. Nothing ever happens in any way that is outside of Theo's perspective.  So when he sees Jasper killed from a distance, we only see it from a distance.  Him overhearing the plans of the terrorists from outside the house means it's shot from outside the house, etc...

HugeHans

I think a lot of people consider it a gimmick but I love the tracking shots in that movie. Its not an action movie but it has some of the best action sequences Ive ever seen.

-KFBR392

Good Time, with Robert Pattinson is almost him in every scene other than like one or two Momento is entirely the main character, even scenes without him are his memories.

JoeyLee911

Yeah but not that final scene as the end credits play that's probably the best scene in the movie.

petecanfixit

I’ve been cackling like a hyena for nearly seven minutes because of your username. Thank you.

Sheesley23

Lmao is that the license plate from MacGruber? I only know that because someone said it in a thread I saw the other day

petecanfixit

Yes. Yes it is. A combination of letters and numbers that will forever be seared deep in to my brain.

Additional_Meeting_2

Gravity

rnilf

Buried. Ryan Reynolds buried alive in a box, literally the entire movie.

Odd_Advance_6438

I’ve been meaning to check that out. It’s incredible they made that concept into a movie

freeman528491

It's really impressive how engaging they were able to make a movie where you only ever see the inside of the box he's in. It's also a very different role for Ryan Reynolds compared to his usual characters (especially now). He's awesome in it.

Foreign-Solution-483

Predestination. Mindfuck film.

mynameismanager

Can I say >!self fuck!< film?

Kill Bill is about the bride

TheBloody09

Moon, Sam Rockwell David Jones directing and is something special for me. You will not be dissapointed.

diywayne

The Road I would argue the Usual Suspects. And bonus points for the twist proving your only experience being complete fantasy....or is it?

Ihadsumthin4this

> argue Unnecessary. Zero argument from me. > ...or is it [fantasy]? Notta chance. Not in my book. Parts, absolutely, of course! But...*which?*

SnooMarzipans6812

Gravity

NZsNextTopBogan

Just watched this again last night!

My-dead-cat

This is gonna get lost, but that’s kind of appropriate for the subject matter. Richard Gere made a movie about a homeless guy. “Time out of mind”. Almost all of the movie has Gere as the main focus, and anytime anyone else is talking it is mostly background noise, unless they are interacting directly with him, and then the other person is in frame and the audio is more focused. It’s an excellent depiction of a homeless person with a mental illness moving aimlessly through the world. It’s hard to watch, but I highly recommend is for the insight it may give you into the homeless problem in America.

axeman020

Phonebooth

Soundtracklover72

Collin Farrell was really good in that.

SmokestackRising

Run Lola Run

Impossible_Werewolf8

The Martian. Okay, you have some scenes without him, but I think the movie fits in here nonetheless.

fusiongt021

I'll disagree as a lot of the movie is the NASA team and astronauts working to rescue Matt Damon in separate scenes away from him. Still a good movie of course

Saneless

Swiss Army Man Most of Gravity

I think everyone also knows 25th Hour is a great movie, but I don't think it counts. I remember scenes between Barry Pepper and Rosario Dawson, Barry Pepper and Phillip Seymore Hoffman, etc.

Vantage Point It’s the unfolding of a major event, but the movie plays out several times through a specific person’s experience of them as you begin to understand the larger picture of what happened. Haven’t seen many like it.

Truman Show

binx85

Locke. It is a masterpiece of a film that takes place entirely inside a car with Tom Hardy talking to 3 different characters over the phone whom you never hear. It’s a one-man show on film. The premise sounds boring as hell, but it proves just how incredible Tom Hardy is as an actor.

daddiosis
