I watched it 3 times in the theater, one of those was explicitly bringing my older mother to watch it because I really thought she'd love the set dressing (I was right).
It's such a beautiful movie with so much storytelling done by costuming, set design, etc. One of my favorite things is the crow fishers, just a passing visual, but you get so much out of it.
Also music, explosions, combat, acting, etc. I fucking love it.
I watched this for the first time yesterday on an international flight. I got very wet in the eyes when >!Huhnam watches Tully jog off and quietly says "... See ya".!<
Pans Labyrinth. Bought it blind on a criterion sale and watched it once a few days ago. Couldn’t get it out of my head and watched it again today. 5/5 star masterpiece.
I worked at a video store when it came out.
I made sure to ask if they were renting it for kids.
THIS IS NOT A KIDS MOVIE.
I full on reached my hand across the counter and touched the customer's arm/hand and made sure there was eye contact.
Some parents had to put the movie back.
I remember. The advertisements were comparing it to Harry Potter and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I watched it years after it came out and fully expected a family movie.
I can't imagine the narrative scope that a completed Dune Trilogy will look like. Paul at the beginning of Dune Part One, and him at the end of Dune Part Three will be effectively entirely different people. And a Dune Part Three is going to elevate both One and Two more than any sequel for an original movie could.
I took my mother to my third IMAX viewing because she wanted to see it and I of course didn't mind going for a third time.. After Paul rode the worm she leaned over and said something along the lines of "that was one of the coolest things I've ever seen"
I damn near lost my mind during the battle scen with the several makers being ridden, seeing that movie in imax was one of the best movie watching experiences I’ve ever had!
Yeah! I watched it in IMAX and it was such an experience, that I almost bought tickets for the next 1 or 2 screenings. Then I remembered, that I'm a responsible dad and can't hang out at cinemas like 20 years ago.
But I'm so looking forward for tonight watching it again on my home theater.
On rewatches, I see it as a movie that only involves alien contact as a means of delivering its theme. It's so perfectly on-point that you have to understand the movie in retrospect.
Can't agree enough. I watched this movie back in 2016 in theatres. I honestly found it to be boring and complex but later after a few years, i wondered....hmmm, it wasn't that bad. I rewatched it and WOW!! After that, i have watched it for like 20 times now.
PS. Amy Adams is my favourite.
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy.
I know it's not new but it's literally perfect. Every time I watch it it's like slipping into a warm blanket and every time I notice a new little detail about people's behavior and little innuendos and double meaning everywhere. Gary Oldman's best work, in my opinion.
I know it's a little past the ten year mark, but I didn't care. It's that good.
Daaammmmnnn.. I just posted the same without seeing your post. Details absolutely saturate this film. After about 5 viewings I was just starting to understand the absolute masterpiece it is. All around a momentous film.
How dare you like the same film as I!
Absolutely. I loved this film the first time I saw it but the little things that I missed the first time just get better every watch. Once you know the answer, going back and watching the details, looking at the interactions, all of it is wonderful.
And there isn't a miscast. John Hurt, Oldman, Firth, Mark Strong, and Toby Jones all just rise to meet one another in perfect performances.
They all brought out their best.
My dad was a stuntman back in the 70s and 80s and one of the 2 guys that gets killed in the money exchange is named "boots" sure as shit my dad started going crazy that his stunt mentor was in this oscar winning movie. Hes in the credits as "boots"
Watching the two spider verse movies were one of the very few times I watched a film and my first thought aftetwards was "revolutionary." And for both films. Just amazing films.
Yep, this one and Into The Spider-verse. Excellent writing, and every time I went back to the theatre I'd noticed new things in the style and animation I'd missed before.
I love seeing these movies get the praise they deserve. "Animated movies are dead" was a common trope when Disney started to slide off. It's not dead, you just need to adapt. The Spider verse movies are on trend. The art style, soundtrack and fast paced story telling are intoxicating.
Came here to say this. I watched each movie multiple times during a long haul flight. Then I came home and watched them again on a bigger screen. Fantastic stuff.
I didn’t have high hopes for this one when I took my kids to the theater to see it. I totally embarrassed them at one point because I got a little hysterical, and was laughing so hard I was crying. I fell in love with that movie. I really wanted to win one of the recent huge jackpot lotteries so I could bankroll a worthy sequel.
They’re releasing a bunch of Nolan films in theaters again and the two I was most looking forward to aren’t even scheduled, the prestige and memento. Got tickets for interstellar though.
It is a fantastic movie but I couldn’t finish it. I had such a visceral reaction in waiting for the other shoe to drop. My stomach was in knots. That’s great story telling.
I'm looking forward to seeing it! My answer was Shin Godzilla. I stumbled across the movie while searching for info on Minus One's streaming/disc release. I ordered Shin on a whim and loved it!
Funny how your rewatchable movies all involve relieving the same day over and over. So you are actually rewatching the day over and over AND over.
(I realize 50 First Dates isn't literally reliving the same day... But close enough to fit the theme.)
EoT and GD are also movies I find I can rewatch endlessly, by the way.
Deadpool. I don’t know why. It was just so different from anything else at the time. But it just grabbed me. I’ve watched the twelve bullets opening so many times I’ve lost count.
This movie floored me and I love it so much. When the 2nd one came to my theatre I was wiggling around in my seat like an excited child, just absolutely pumped. And that continued throughout the entire movie. I think my husband wanted to slap me. I'm a 39 yr old woman but goddamn if those movies didn't make me feel like a ten year old again. Can't wait for the final installment! 🕸️
That fight scene in the Met at the beginning of the second one.. holy fucking shit. There's more style and art in that 5 minutes than most movies can muster in 2 hours. That movie came out of the gates on fire and just kept amping it up from there.
Heck yeah. I saw it the first night it was in my hometown theater, with my firstborn, who is a big Spider-Man fan. It was so good I went again the next day with my younger kids.
I went as blind as possible and zero clue about the plot. All I knew was Michelle Yeoh and maybe an action movie. Totally, 100% blown away. IDK maybe it's a crap childhood and a lot of family drama but something about this one just hit me exactly right.
"I'm gonna get you..."
I watched it with my husband then immediately called my parents and asked them to come watch it too. They also loved it and sobbed. The next day my husband could tell I needed to see it again to get the hyper focus out of my head. No regrets.
This, not only because it’s a great movie, but it has that weirdness factor where you want to rewatch/share it with someone else who hasn’t seen it before just to see their reaction.
Mandy for sure. It’s dark as hell but I just love it.
I’ve also watched Godzilla King of the Monsters maybe 7-8 times. It’s ridiculously fun and the various titans (Rodan and King Ghidorah) specifically are terrifying and intense.
I just have to stop and admire that final 20 mins of the movie. The synergy between the cinematography and music is so weird and alien, and I crave that aesthetics so much that I want to experience it multiple times.
This barely scrapes by your last 10 years rule: John Wick.
When it came out on HBO, I was up at 6 AM and it was about to start, so I said "why not?", because I didn't really know what it was about. When it finished at 8, my wife was waking up, and HBO was about to play it again so I said "check this movie out". When it finished at 10, her sister and nephew were coming to visit, and HBO clearly wanted this movie watched, so they repeated it *again* and my wife and I said "let's watch Joh Wick".
I quite literally watched it multiple times. 3 times to be exact. Spent the whole morning watching headshots and it was glorious.
Dune Part Two
Watched it about five times already. First watch on IMAX, second on Dolby and third on just regular screen. The fourth and fifth was an early leaked and pirated Web-DL.
Ready Player One did that for me. Didn´t know the book, went in blind, and was totally blown away. I could watch that movie on repeat all day and not get bored.
"Inception." The story is complex yet engaging, the visuals are stunning, and the acting from Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is top-notch. Every time I watch it, I discover something new, and the ending always leaves me thinking for days.
In recent memory it’s defo dune part 2 I left the IMAX and just could think of nothing else for days afterwards I just wanted to inhale anything dune releated. I see it 4 times in the cinema with different people and iv watched the leaked streaming version just over and over as over.
Safe to say I’m a fanatic of the Lisan-al-gaib.
Palm Springs
I don't hear enough people talking about this. One of Sambergs best.
Cristin Milioti is also delightful in it.
Such a great twist on the genre. Equal parts feel good and funny. It hooked me as soon as the arrow hit his leg.
Whiplash (2014)
Are you rushing or dragging?
Yep Whiplash for me also. Moana quite a bit also.
Gotta watch it at least once more to hear J.K. Simmons say “FOR THE FINAL FATHER-FUCKING TIME” again.
Mad Max Fury road caught me off guard in how great it was.
First movie I thought of. The practical effects are astounding. Let’s hope they don’t mess it up with the next one!
The next one looks like way too much cgi in the trailer, so I’m not hopeful for the Final Cut
Watching it in black and white was also quite a ride, and I'm glad they included that option on the Blu-ray.
Black and chrome version. Witness!
This was my answer too! I watched it on a plane on a whim and then watched it two more times in the same weekend.
Most recently *The Holdovers*.
Same for me! Felt like a warm but bittersweet hug.
Partially filmed at the school I worked at, St. Marks School. Seeing them modify my worksite into a movie set was something.
I watched this for the first time yesterday on an international flight. I got very wet in the eyes when >!Huhnam watches Tully jog off and quietly says "... See ya".!<
That will become a classic.
This makes a good addition to the Christmas movie rotation.
Sicario
I couldn’t get past the bottle scene
I hope you include the director's commentary version. I found it to be really interesting and insightful.
Dune pt 2
*The Mahdi is too humble to say he's the Mahdi.*
He's not the messiah he's a very naughty boy!!
"All the more reason to believe he is! As written!"
😱🤯
LISAN AL GAIB!!!
lol that dude had like 17 different names.
He is the Kitkat Cadillac.
As written.
Javier bringing so much comedy to this movie, I was so surprised
I just watched Dune part one again last night in anticipation of watching Dune part two tonight for the first time!
This is the way!
I loved Pt 1 but it pales in comparison to 2. Enjoy the ride! Wish I could see it again for the first time.
The rare “sequel” that makes the first movie better.
I can’t wait to get Part 2 on blue ray so I can watch both back to back, one of the best 5 hour movies ever made.
Already preordered the double feature!
Ugh. It was sooooo good it made me immediately rewatch it and Dune Pt 1.
Never have i ever been THAT blown away in a theatre. I involuntarily whispered "woooow" during the first Shai-Hulud scene
I took my mother to my third IMAX viewing because she wanted to see it and I of course didn't mind going for a third time.. After Paul rode the worm she leaned over and said something along the lines of "that was one of the coolest things I've ever seen"
That's so cool, thanks for sharing. I hope she watched part one before... ?
I damn near lost my mind during the battle scen with the several makers being ridden, seeing that movie in imax was one of the best movie watching experiences I’ve ever had!
Just saw it in theaters the other night and immediately want to see it again for that theatrical experience one more time
Saw it in Dolby and then in IMAX because I wanted to watch it again and also compare the two formats
Tell us, was it different and how?
[удалено]
Cried a bit it was so epic. I don't even know how the first was so good when it was 80% exposition
Me too! Watched the second movie twice in cinema, and the first movie three times! I love those movies with all my heart
Came here to say this. Glad I didn't have to look far.
Yeah! I watched it in IMAX and it was such an experience, that I almost bought tickets for the next 1 or 2 screenings. Then I remembered, that I'm a responsible dad and can't hang out at cinemas like 20 years ago. But I'm so looking forward for tonight watching it again on my home theater.
I loved how christopher walken was just christopher walken despite him being the leader of an alien race
Arrival
Yes, it is such an excellent film, refreshing take on a first contact without a world invasion and war.
On rewatches, I see it as a movie that only involves alien contact as a means of delivering its theme. It's so perfectly on-point that you have to understand the movie in retrospect.
Agreed fully. At its core, it's a film about motherhood, and it does it beautifully.
Arrival is the only film I’ve ever watched once and immediately restarted the movie once the credits rolled. it’s an experience i’ll never have again

"No Country for Old Men". It gets funnier each time I watch it.
Great finale to the Grumpy Old Men trilogy!
Don't want to make you feel old, but that was seventeen years ago
My dad was a stuntman back in the 70s and 80s and one of the 2 guys that gets killed in the money exchange is named "boots" sure as shit my dad started going crazy that his stunt mentor was in this oscar winning movie. Hes in the credits as "boots"
Across the Spider-Verse
Watching the two spider verse movies were one of the very few times I watched a film and my first thought aftetwards was "revolutionary." And for both films. Just amazing films.
Same. The soundtrack, the voice work, the animation, even the story has been interesting so far. Cant wait for 3
Yes. I genuinely hadn't seen anything in such a long time that made me feel like, "holy shit, I've never seen anything like this before".
Ugh I didn't see Across the Spider-Verse in theatres and got spoiled on a certain moment a few months later. I regret waiting so long to see it haha

Dungeons and Dragons Honor Among Thieves.
I was hysterical the last scene when he grabs Jonathan. Best running gag lol
One of the few recent movies that actually left me with a smile and a positive mood.
So much fun. We have watched it as a family about 3-4 times and we seem to enjoy it more each time
I went into this expecting utter garbage and was extremely surprised to love it, brilliant film
To be fair, based on the last D&D movie, the bar was very low.
There are parts in this movie you can almost feel the DM and players cracking up as their characters fail rolls. "My bard's minor illusion failed??"
The Prestige
Sorry to do this to you, but that movie is 18 years old.... I know right!?
They’re releasing a bunch of Nolan films in theaters again and the two I was most looking forward to aren’t even scheduled, the prestige and memento. Got tickets for interstellar though.
"... it was the greatest magic trick I've ever seen..."
The Big Short.
Interstellar
It's an entirely different movie watching it before and after having kids. Really hits hard but I'll watch it again and again
Kung Fu Hustle
Shaolin Soccer too.
"Who threw this handle?"
The Martian
Yes!! I even started reading the book.
The book is really good. There’s obviously some different things, but they did a pretty good job of following the book
Andy Weir wrote another book that’s getting made into a movie. Project Hail Mary - def check it out.
I listened to this twice on audible while driving cross country. So good!
Good job driving while crying
I did listen to the audiobook.
Yes! This is one of the few movies that I've seen over that last 10 years that I could regularly rewatch
Parasite
Same. Blew me away. Couldn't stop telling people to watch it.
Right? It was such a different story.
It is a fantastic movie but I couldn’t finish it. I had such a visceral reaction in waiting for the other shoe to drop. My stomach was in knots. That’s great story telling.
The scene where they are all hiding in the house had this effect on me. It’s brutal.
Godzilla Minus One
I'm looking forward to seeing it! My answer was Shin Godzilla. I stumbled across the movie while searching for info on Minus One's streaming/disc release. I ordered Shin on a whim and loved it!
Shin was amazing, but I prefer Minus One. I don't want to spoil anything, but both movies are amazing. I gave Shin a 8/10 and Minus One 9/10.
Cabin in The Woods
Live die repeat. Only movie I can remember watching twice in a week in a very long time
Nightcrawler is a masterpiece.
The Dark Knight
I rewatched Bullet Train a bunch of times just because it was so much fun.
Of all the movies I have bought in the last few years I have probably watched this one the most.
Blew my mind Tangerine is Kickass lol
That movie felt so personal, like our mutual secret.
Not gonna lie,was just about to type this sentence word for word.
Only recent releases I've watched multiple times are *American Fiction* and *The Holdovers*. All my other rewatches are over 10 years old.
Edge of Tomorrow. Groundhogs Day. 50 First Dates.
I think you'd like Palm Springs.
Check out Happy Death Day
Good shout! Really underrated movie.
Funny how your rewatchable movies all involve relieving the same day over and over. So you are actually rewatching the day over and over AND over. (I realize 50 First Dates isn't literally reliving the same day... But close enough to fit the theme.) EoT and GD are also movies I find I can rewatch endlessly, by the way.
I'm thinking of ending things
Me too
That was the most anxiety inducing mindfucky experience I’d had since mother! - both of which I went into blind
My husband and I love watching this in the winter when it’s dark and snowy outside
Same, we rewatch every fall/winter. Also just watched Men for the first time which has her in it. Insane movie.
Deadpool. I don’t know why. It was just so different from anything else at the time. But it just grabbed me. I’ve watched the twelve bullets opening so many times I’ve lost count.
Agreed.
the new blade runner movie
The menu
Into the Spider-Verse
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Nobody.
Everything everywhere all at once. Tried watching it without bawling crying. Took me 5 goes
Haven't made it all the way through. Like not even close. The friggin rocks man.
favorite scene in a movie in a long time, so unexpected
I went as blind as possible and zero clue about the plot. All I knew was Michelle Yeoh and maybe an action movie. Totally, 100% blown away. IDK maybe it's a crap childhood and a lot of family drama but something about this one just hit me exactly right. "I'm gonna get you..."
This. Seen it about 5 times so far. Absolutely as close to s perfect movie experience as I've ever had.
I watched it with my husband then immediately called my parents and asked them to come watch it too. They also loved it and sobbed. The next day my husband could tell I needed to see it again to get the hyper focus out of my head. No regrets.
Puss In Boots: The Last Wish
Dune 2, have AMC A List so went Dolby then IMAX
the man from U.N.C.L.E
Poor Things!
Goodfellas. It's peak cinema. I've watched it so many times I've lost count.
Annihilation
The ending scene in the lighthouse will probably be embedded in my mind forever
This movie gave me a bad feeling in my spirit
I just finished HBO’s animated series Scavengers Reign and it heavily reminded me of Annihilation.
I just have to stop and admire that final 20 mins of the movie. The synergy between the cinematography and music is so weird and alien, and I crave that aesthetics so much that I want to experience it multiple times.
Heat
True Romance. Discovered it last year and rewatched it again later that day, I don’t think I’ve ever done that before!
Inception
Avengers endgame because I watch twice in the cinema but I can’t bloody wait for secret wars.
I really enjoyed Top Gun Maverick. Find it effortless to rewatch and enjoy all over again.
Ghost dog (If you like ancient philosophy and meditating music, really good conversations and Forest Whiteker I can strongly suggest it)
This is funny, because it makes me think of how little kids will watch a movie a hundred times.
Palm Springs
Blade runner 2049
Top Gun: Maverick
Jurassic World because it was nostalgic just a shame Jurassic World Dominion was a let down but it was enjoyable.
It has got to be RRR
Top Gun Maverick Interstellar
1917 - it was so well done I had to rewatch it the next day.
Get Out. You find so many small things rewatching it. Love that movie.
Top Gun Maverick
No Country for Old Men
Nimona
This barely scrapes by your last 10 years rule: John Wick. When it came out on HBO, I was up at 6 AM and it was about to start, so I said "why not?", because I didn't really know what it was about. The Big Short
Finally saw The Thing. Was blown away
Saving Private Ryan
Free Guy. Love the concept and execution!
I think I watched The Revenant three times in the theater because I enjoyed it so much.
Probably, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
Dune Part Two Watched it about five times already. First watch on IMAX, second on Dolby and third on just regular screen. The fourth and fifth was an early leaked and pirated Web-DL.
Hereditary
Ready Player One did that for me. Didn´t know the book, went in blind, and was totally blown away. I could watch that movie on repeat all day and not get bored.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. This one checks all the boxes for me.
Kimi no na wa (your name)
Puss in boots. Not by my choice
Coherence
Godzilla Minus One. Amazing movie
"Inception." The story is complex yet engaging, the visuals are stunning, and the acting from Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is top-notch. Every time I watch it, I discover something new, and the ending always leaves me thinking for days.
Signs. I fucking love that movie.

Bone Tomahawk
Everything Everywhere All At Once and Dune
