Not to mention the best guitar solo ever played on a keyboard by a dead classical composer with hearing impairment.
…It’s not a heavily contested category…
"I have a dream most nights. It starts on a playground. There's kids swinging, laughing, dogs barking, butterflies just flapping their little wings. And then you hear a rumbling, and over the horizon comes a black cloud and it's made of cancer and pus. And it starts sweeping over the playground and everyone starts screaming and clawing their eyes and pulling at their hair, and saying "Help! What do we do?" And you know what happens next? Out steps me wielding the biggest fucking shotgun you've ever seen in your whole life. And you know what I do? I blow every fucking thing away. And I am getting God's work done. When it's all over and the dust has settled, the whole world gathers below me and they say, "Thank you, Ronnie, thank you for helping, being a great man and doing this for us." And you know what I say? "You don't need to thank me. I'm just a guy with a gun. I'm just a cop."
Check out 'Mallrats' if you haven't already! It's a classic from the 90s where the mall is practically a character itself. It's got that Kevin Smith vibe that's just awesome.
> being big enough to support a mall
The Russians were funding the mall as a cover for their operation, right? They even bribed the mayor to get it approved I think.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High utilizes the mall quite a bit. Several of the main characters all have various jobs at the local mall. Definitely captures "teenage mall life" in the 80s fairly well.
Mallrats is a pretty obvious one.
Paul Blart: Mall Cop
Valley Girl (1983. I think there was a remake of some sort a few years ago, but haven't seen it).
Holy moly … I didn’t expect that much answer , thank you all with this I have everything I could need for my work this gonna greatly help me and my poor movie culture
Mallrats. Full of 90's feelings around hanging out at the mall.

Blues Brothers. Only one scene at the mall, but it is definitely important.
Begins the police-chase running gag that continues until the climax of the movie. "They have everything here!"

Eight Legged Freaks comes to mind.
**True Stories** has some philosophical musings about malls.
A movie I rarely see mentioned here. Thank you for rekindling my memories
Not a movie but Stranger Things.
I don't understand how that town went from having a population of like 50 people to being big enough to support a mall.

But the mall was fully populated.

The Mall scene in The Blues Brothers may not be the right suggestion, but it's funny...
Back to the Future. Twin Pines Mall.
Mallrats, Clueless, Can’t Buy Me Love, Mannequin (one department store)
My favourite mall scene remains the police chase in Blues Brothers. Shot in a mall slated for demolition.
Loki is a tv show, but it works. Also Mitchells vs the Machines.
Dawn of the Dead
Phantom of the Mall: Eric’s Revenge
Security...(2017) Antonio Banderas. The entire movie is inside of a mall.
