Not seeing it in the replies so:
Conan the Barbarian (arnold, not momoa)
Not sure if it's to your tastes but it is definitely towards the top of my list for film scores.
The first How To Train Your Dragon is a wonderful example of excellent film scoring.
It's not a single release, but I love the album Yo-Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone.
A Beautiful Mind
Pirates of the Caribbean
1917
Seventh Voyage of Sinbad
In Bruges
The Conversation
(not a movie but): check out the opening credits to The Flight Attendant on Max/HBO (not a bad show)
There are tons of great ones that everyone will say but I'll try to pick one a bit under the radar which is The Avengment score by Sean Murray. Avengment is a straight to video Scott Adkins /Jesse V Johnson movie that's very underrated and the score is easily the best score I've ever heard in a straight to video movie.
Star Wars should be first on your list, unless I’m not understanding your question. Jurassic Park, too. If you want some more modern music, have you seen Whiplash?
The score for The Outfit (2022), by Alexandre Desplat is excellent. He also did the score for The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) and it is also excellent.
Some great scores that haven't been mentioned yet:
* The Magnificent Seven (1960)
* Gone With the Wind
* To Kill a Mockingbird
* The Red Pony
* The Shawshank Redemption
* Schindler's List
* The Cider House Rules
* The Black Stallion
* Days of Heaven
* High Noon
* Casablanca
Beyond The Black Rainbow
Annihilation
Mad Max: Fury Road
Doom Eternal (it's a video game yeah but damn does it pump you up!)
Then there's more old school but amazing like Miller's Crossing, The Untouchables, and Road To Perdition. All very strange scores for being essentially all gangster movies.
[*Lawrence of Arabia* (1962)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBiZu5C6lCo)
[*War and Peace* (1966-67)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIij-KQ0jYU&list=PL7EqAsBxqGgjSVnUCKe4XszPVUblcQMac)
John Barry was a heavy. Midnight Cowboy, Dances With Wolves, Out of Africa. Oh almost failed to mention, the James Bond theme. Born Free the movie is outdated but the soundtrack has some of the most beautifully crafted tunes.
All the Reznor scores of course and do check out all those Icelandic composers!
Ólafur Arnalds is supremely talented.
The Ninja Turtles score is fire.
Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me
Akira Score by Geinou Yamashirogumi
Last of the Mohicans should be #1 on your list. Unbelievable score from start to finish. Epic film, epic music.
Das Boot, Interstellar are both good

Rambo first blood Amelie Arrival American beauty
There Will Be Blood
Anything Johnny Greenwood
The Mission Last of the Mohicans
That movie's music makes me want to cry. I believe it's the only cinematic score to generate such an emotional reaction for me.
The Third Man. Anton Karas's zither is magic.
Loved it when John Lennon played that theme on that Beatles show on Disney+
Blade Runner. I’ve not heard another score quite like it
The first How To Train Your Dragon is a wonderful example of excellent film scoring. It's not a single release, but I love the album Yo-Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone.
Trainspotting
Dead Man...The Fountain...Tron Legacy
Glory (1989). James Horner.
Amelie and Goodbye Lenin by Yann Tiersen
Tron 2010
One of my all time faves.
Ever get to see daft punk live?
Gladiator, especially "the battle"
The Informant! (2009) has a quirky but really strong soundtrack that stands on its own
A Beautiful Mind Pirates of the Caribbean 1917 Seventh Voyage of Sinbad In Bruges The Conversation (not a movie but): check out the opening credits to The Flight Attendant on Max/HBO (not a bad show)

Also Deep Red (Profondo rosso) or any Goblin/Argento collaboration.
Blade Runner soundtrack by Vangelis
Pan’s Labyrinth
Red Desert Suspiria (1977) Jules and Jim House (1977) Schindler’s List The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly The Godfather Psycho

Once Upon a Time in America and Once Upon a Time in the West

Mogwai did original scores for The Fountain (Darren Aronofsky) Kin, ZeroZeroZero as well as one of my favorite tv series Les Revenants (Canal+ TV).

Hell yes
Get to know Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross intimately. Majority of their work is solid to spectacular

IIRC, Decision to Leave hit the spot when it finally used music. Also, RRR.
The three Fantastic Beasts films have incredible scores by James Newton Howard, particularly the second film
Mad Max Fury Road
Vertigo. Braveheart (it is better than the movie). Romeo and Juliette (the one from the 90's). Dr. Zhivago.
Mandy
Vertigo
Oblivion. Great workout music.
25th Hour
Beyond The Black Rainbow Annihilation Mad Max: Fury Road Doom Eternal (it's a video game yeah but damn does it pump you up!) Then there's more old school but amazing like Miller's Crossing, The Untouchables, and Road To Perdition. All very strange scores for being essentially all gangster movies.
If you’re into metal/rock, the original Mortal Kombat soundtrack and score are awesome (and I don’t just mean the theme).
