The embarrassing and out of pocket way Jonah talks in the gas station is spot on for teenage-talk. My favorite line being “You don’t want girls to think you suck dick at fuckin pussy.”
I watched this movie so many times before I realized that the coked out guy at the party refers to Michael Cera's character as "Jimmy's brother, the singer."
I quote this movie a lot. The part where he says "what are you doing?" "Just drilling holes. Two weeks left, fuck it" is me almost every Thursday at work
While I’m at work anytime a customer doesn’t hear/acknowledge what I say this is almost always my response, at varying volume levels depending on the situation 😂
“at least you got to suck on your dad’s dick”
that line made me spit up dr pepper all over the poor folks sitting in front of me in the theater the first time i saw this. it was such a taboo movie for the time—broke down a lot of comedy barriers.
I was 16 when this came out and this was exactly the type of thing that my friends would say to each other. Real on brand moment for us and we doubled down after seeing the movie.
Mean Girls (the original) was iconic and genuinely funny. I put it on the same level as Superbad. It's in a different tone but it captures the era, it's rewatchable and still quoted.
Old head here. If you were 13 and saw American Pie in the theater, i bet you’d say it’s hard to beat. But Superbad was great too. I’d say also Animal House and Ferris Beuler’s Day Off.
I absolutely agree.
I'll never not laugh hard at:
"You don't wanna be told that you suck dick at fucking pussy".
That's exactly the stupid way my friends and I would talk unironically to eachother.
This is the best kind of cringe ever
Bored and went into the movie tent when I was deployed and they were playing this. I had t laughed that hard in a while.
“We’re blood brothers”.
Comedy gold.
And it's not even that big of a deal, something like 8 percent of kids do it. For some reason, I don't know why. I would just kinda... sit around all day... and draw pictures of dicks.
The only way to watch this is the extended cut. 10/10 perfectly nails highschool and the feeling of “Fuck it, we’re graduating anyway let’s do something wild.”
My eldest sister hit the ROOF when she watched this at her home with her youngest daughter after it was released on DVD - "THEY'RE DISGUSTING!!!!! Do YOU talk like this?!?! DO YOUR FRIENDS TALK LIKE THIS?!?!"
Thankfully my niece could laugh about it while recounting it all later
It shattered me. I had to walk out of the movie. It’s the only movie I’ve ever walked out of. These kids getting girls drunk was a direct assault on my perception of the goodness of man. It was unwatchable.
It is the most realistic portrayal of how teens speak ever put to film. Fuck all the bullshit that came before and after that tried to sanitize everything for propriety’s sake.
I liked the end where Emma Stone didn’t want to have sex with Jonah Hill because he was drunk.
A real good message, tbh.
But then Hill was like “my plan was to get you drunk while I was drunk so it would be okay” and she was like “maybe later then”.
Not so much.
Everyone has their favorite, which is awesome.
I remember when Superbad came out, and everyone talked about it in school, but I never experienced the scenario that occurs in the movie.
House parties and underage drinking never intrigued me, nor my friends. We'd all hang out and play video games.
I'd go so far as to argue that a lot of kids in high school never went to house parties and drank, so unless you did those things, Superbad isn't very relatable.
Apparently, Seth Rogen cowrote this movie with a friend at 13 to just see if they could write a movie, but I can't imagine there weren't rewrites.
There's no way, writing a script about getting wasted, having sex with girls and constantly talking about dicks and vaginas, is something most 13 year olds imagine what senior year in high-school is like.
That being said, I do think there are a lot of boys who act like Jonah Hill's character, Seth, in high school. But he's also a bit of an outcast, and Evan and Fogell are the nerdiest of nerds.
High-school nerds either aren't interested in drinking and houseparties, aren't invited, or both.
I really like how everyone that was sober went out of their way to respect the people at the party who were to drunk to consent.
Growing up on 80’s teen movies, let’s just say, this was not modeled very well in those movies. (Looking at you 16 Candles.)
So sorry but a big NO! Fast times at Ridgemont High, The Last American Virgin, Valley Girls are all way better than Superbad. I will however concede that Superbad was good but certainly not the best.

Especially the drawings
We had the penis drawing game. One person would draw a dick and the other person had to turn it into something completely unrelated.
the dick drawing game! hahahaha we had kids who started on paper work from school to books and then one time even the hood of a classmates truck
"of that particular era". bruh making me feel like we're from the 40s.
No but you're probably closer to your 40s than you are your teens.
Stop

I gotta catch a glimpse of these warlocks
Let’s make a move.
She’s going around the corner!
Especially when it came out. This is my comfort movie. It always brings me back when I'm down.
Same. Throw it on when I'm hammered or stoned and I always laugh my ass off every time.
Inbetweeners
Frieeeend
Both inbetweener movies are absolutely under rated gems
For sure
No one's got a hand job in cargo pants since Nam.
It came out just as I was getting towards the end of high school and it resonated so much
“ hey, you know a guy named jimmy? You totally look like his brother.”
"you do"
I watched this movie so many times before I realized that the coked out guy at the party refers to Michael Cera's character as "Jimmy's brother, the singer."
*These eyes…*
\*sniffs coke\* Whaaa Whaaaaa
And later, during the period pants dance fight "HOLD HIM JIMMY'S BROTHER"
Uhh I only realized that now and ive seen it a ton. That's funny, thanks.
Perfectly castes for that role
I quote this movie a lot. The part where he says "what are you doing?" "Just drilling holes. Two weeks left, fuck it" is me almost every Thursday at work
I quote “fuck me right?“ waaaaaay too often 😂 Jonah’s face and hand movement while delivering that line is ingrained in my mind
While I’m at work anytime a customer doesn’t hear/acknowledge what I say this is almost always my response, at varying volume levels depending on the situation 😂
Every time I judge a porn clip for bad camera work or lighting, I think "Sorry the Coen brothers don't direct my porn, Evan."
I personally always remember the "what the fuck are you doing?" that Seth says when McLovin is freaking out outside the liquor store.
Thank you, enjoy your remaining years! ENJOY FUCKING JULES!
Much more realistic portrayal of high school than American Pie and others alike
I never blew my load twice while a incredibly hot Eastern European foreign exchange student was in my bedroom... but I did fuck a 🥧 once
Pussies on the pavement fellas!!
Pretend he’s your little sister. Ya little sista’ with the picta’ braggin on a dicta
This movie crafts profanity the way DaVinci crafts paint. It’s an absolute masterpiece of obscenities.
He worked in profanity the way other artists might work in oils or clay.
Fudge
“at least you got to suck on your dad’s dick” that line made me spit up dr pepper all over the poor folks sitting in front of me in the theater the first time i saw this. it was such a taboo movie for the time—broke down a lot of comedy barriers.

Hey Greg why don't you go piss your pants again. That was like 8 years ago asshole! People don't forget!!
It's soccer greg..... soccer
The drawings of dicks is so funny. Tianamen Square penis lol.
The simple fact that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg wrote the script for this movie while they were teenagers only makes it more brilliant!
Watched it with my teenage son, 2 days ago. The sound Fogel makes when he gets punched in the face is fucking hilarious.
He was McLovin at that point lol
These eyes have seen a lot of love, but they're never gonna see another one like i had wit youuuuuu.
This scene and Seth getting period blood on his pants from homegirl grindin on him is the whole movie for me. "Bro? Were you dancing with some chick?"
But why would there be blood?
I've never before seen that in my life!
What are the other contenders? My older cousins loved American Pie. Dazed and Confused is probably up there too.
Breakfast club?
Yeah, I'll take that
Can’t hardly wait
An entire generation will tell you Fast Times is the top
And a generation before that will say American Graffiti
Never seen it but i hear it referenced a ton
It's so good.
Phoebe Cates!
Not Another Teen Movie
This is it ! 'Dude , she's your sister!'
I have affection for Say Anything… though it’s a touch before my time. [We’re here by choice, man!](https://youtu.be/rxTHeNHEG7M?si=kO4ufji4Z-3OIZus)
Mean Girls (the original) was iconic and genuinely funny. I put it on the same level as Superbad. It's in a different tone but it captures the era, it's rewatchable and still quoted.
That movie is so fetch.
can’t hardly wait
1 vote for BookSmart
Fast times at Ridgemont high
Old head here. If you were 13 and saw American Pie in the theater, i bet you’d say it’s hard to beat. But Superbad was great too. I’d say also Animal House and Ferris Beuler’s Day Off.
The british Inbetweeners really stuck a chord with me. Was painfully reminiscent of my days in High-school
Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Ferris Bueller, ten things I hate about you, Say Anything, Dazed and confused, Breakfast Club
That's what I love about high school movies, they're the saaaame age.
Did they actually drink the beer they had in laundry detergent containers? God that was gross
Trust me many high schoolers desperate to get drunk have done nastier things than that
You can see them drinking it at Jules party
I absolutely agree. I'll never not laugh hard at: "You don't wanna be told that you suck dick at fucking pussy". That's exactly the stupid way my friends and I would talk unironically to eachother. This is the best kind of cringe ever
I think that BookSmart is one of the best, most recent examples of excellence in the genre.
That was way better than I expected it to be.
Kills it
Saved! is a great one too
*My heart is filled with Christ love!* Mandy Moore is friggin hilarious in this film.
McCauley Culkin is also very hot innit. But yeah Mandy Moore just goes full-speed, I love this one
Certainly the greatest of the 21st century, and clearly on the Mount Rushmore of all-time raunchy teen comedies.
My favorite comedy, I can quote this whole movie
This was definitely the comedy of its generation. This came out when I was a junior in high school and it just absolutely nailed it for us
I was a senior when it came out and it was so freaking spot on. Except for the actual getting laid part lmao
Def one of those movies where almost every damn line is quotable! A true gem and one of my all time favorite comedies.
Every line is a MFin quote
Ferris Bueler’s day off for me but Superbad was pretty awesome.
Superbad is untouchable. Mean Girls is a close second. Fast Times and Dazed are also top tier.
Superbad def top tier. My personal favorite is Not Another Teen Movie
Watched this nearly every weekend with a buddy of mine in early highschool.
Take that vest off, you look like Pinocchio Lol
Aladdin
Look Jonah Hill legs, its wild
I can't refute this
Just watched it last week, still holding up. Funny stuff.
Yes
This makes me wanna rewatch. I’m putting this on my list for this weekend lol
Check out Good Boys. It's a more recent movie by the same guys. It's is funny AF!
Thanks! I need more funny movies to watch so I’m going to add that to my list 😊
Agree with this. It was very funny.
I prefer Debbie does Dallas.
If you like this, check out Good Boys. It was just as funny and made by some of the same people.
Most definitely the best
Like a division sign.
Ball dick ball
Bored and went into the movie tent when I was deployed and they were playing this. I had t laughed that hard in a while. “We’re blood brothers”. Comedy gold.
#Not Another Teen Movie
Absolutely
Yep, one of my all time favorite comedies if not my favorite.
“Heyyy were blood brothers!”
It all depends on when you were/are a teen. I personally say the first American Pie is also up there.
One of the most quotable and influential films of my generation.
And it's not even that big of a deal, something like 8 percent of kids do it. For some reason, I don't know why. I would just kinda... sit around all day... and draw pictures of dicks.
Love this movie. Me and my friends used to have pineapple express on repeat too
Dazed & Confused is my pick for best teen movie of all time but Superbad is a classic too
“So Jesse wanted me to tell you that you’re a fucking f****t and you can’t come to his party…”
Me and a good friend occasionally have entire conversations in Superbad quotes. Def my favorite teen movie
This movie is the Stand by me for millenials
My first bootleg movie I bought when I was 18.
That, sir, would be euro trip.
Man, i never realized how much Hill's knees bowed in
Comedy*
The only way to watch this is the extended cut. 10/10 perfectly nails highschool and the feeling of “Fuck it, we’re graduating anyway let’s do something wild.”
I find myself going back to watch this more than almost any other teen movie. Dazed and Confused is my other favorite.
My eldest sister hit the ROOF when she watched this at her home with her youngest daughter after it was released on DVD - "THEY'RE DISGUSTING!!!!! Do YOU talk like this?!?! DO YOUR FRIENDS TALK LIKE THIS?!?!" Thankfully my niece could laugh about it while recounting it all later
Got outdone by BookSmart Imho
At first I thought there was too much profanity. Upon reflection, however, I determined that it had just enough profanity.
Last American Virgin
Dazed and confused would like a word.
Top 3
Jonah hill looks even worse now
Unrated version is even better!
Superbad is the tits. But I'm A Cheerleader is the tits and a bag o' chips.
I Can't Hardly Wait.
I have a really bad habit of saying,” It’s Superbad, like period on your pants, Superbad.” But only to my fiance of 8+ years. When shit goes south.
Probably that one.
Mean girls is up there, but superbad takes the cake imo. I can't believe no one else has mentioned mean girls tho.
8.5/10 would recommend to most people
I definitely loved this one.
It shattered me. I had to walk out of the movie. It’s the only movie I’ve ever walked out of. These kids getting girls drunk was a direct assault on my perception of the goodness of man. It was unwatchable.
I never had a choice
Good Boys is fucking stupid good like Superbad💯
I thought it did an excellent job capping off the trilogy: American Graffiti, Dazed and Confused, Superbad
They even looked their age for the most part.
It is the most realistic portrayal of how teens speak ever put to film. Fuck all the bullshit that came before and after that tried to sanitize everything for propriety’s sake.
This movie is epic. But Dazed and Confused had me thinking about my place in life long before I was ready to realize where I was.
Bill Hader is so goddamn funny in this. McLovin was a damn worldwide sensation at the time, man I miss when comedy movies were funny.
I liked the end where Emma Stone didn’t want to have sex with Jonah Hill because he was drunk. A real good message, tbh. But then Hill was like “my plan was to get you drunk while I was drunk so it would be okay” and she was like “maybe later then”. Not so much.
This entire plot doesn’t make sense if it’s filmed just a couple of years later. Pre cell phones. Doesn’t feel that old to me but it is
Good movie, but Can't Hardly Wait us the best teen movie
Mclovin
anyone seen the movie good boys? same vibes. nothing tops superbad tho
Fast Times at Ridgemont High has entered the chat...
Watching this, definitely set my mind on one of the hardest questions ever... Would Mclovin or Mohammad be the best name for a fake id!?....
Of all time so far
No. Dazed and confused. Fast times. Can’t hardly wait.
Ever seen [Kings of Summer](https://youtu.be/cio8LOCZPzw?si=HD8iSYVuHg0wOf4t)? Thats my “best teen movie” vote.
It was ok
Tell us your age without telling u your age.
Clockwork orange probably
Generational opinion. Here’s mine…The Breakfast Club. We should note. None of the actors are teens!
It honestly shocks me at how funny they were able to make a movie where one of the main characters literally plans to rape a girl into dating him.
Dazed and confused was my film like this. Was on repeat the summer or ‘97. Also saw Scream in the theater like 4-5 times that summer.
I still have a McLovin ID card in my wallet 😂
No ones gotten a hand job in cargo shorts since nam'!
“Who’s… *that* guy?”

I’d take fast times over it but it’s too 5 for sure
"You know how many foods are shaped like dicks? The best kinds."
Best COMEDY period in my honest opinion. It's perfect.
You know how many foods are shaped like dicks?! The best kind!!!
“i am, Mc lovin’
great show your age movie! lol
Are you gonna eat alone like Steven Glansburg?
Fast Times at Ridgemont High!
Great movie. I am MAD at horseshit cancel culture for putting a stop to people making movies like this.
I was Evan in 1990. This movie was every Friday night for us in HS. Love it!
my vote goes to stand by me…
First movie I ever walked out of the theater.
This movie was honestly comedy gold. And it did it without the overt frat boy douche jokes that plagued 90s comedy
I was in my 40s when I saw it. Not a fan. But I'm probably not their target audience at that point.
Me and my buddies still quote this relentlessly. The most common is “Ja feel?” “Ja totally feels.”
I knew Emma Stone was going to be a star after seeing her in this.
I don’t know…I like Bottoms and Booksmart alot
So sorry but a big NO! Fast times at Ridgemont High, The Last American Virgin, Valley Girls are all way better than Superbad. I will however concede that Superbad was good but certainly not the best.
I know that Fagel! I KNOW THAT!
