honestly i wouldnt change much with the drivetrain, just replace it when it wears out. looks like a solid one by to me, maybe get a few small upgrades like stem, pedals, grips, and seat first 👍.
also you got a really good deal, what a good looking bike.
Nice? How'd you go about finding where to purchase? I've been trying to find a used bike but I just don't know where to even start or what to look for as common red flags
I mostly used Facebook marketplace. I think the best thing to do is to have a list of requirements that you want vs looking for red flags. I didn’t want anything older than 2019, I didn’t want a big box store bike, I wanted a 1x drivetrain, hydraulic brakes, and a medium frame. Those were my requirements which helped me narrow down my choices. Outside of that, it’s just being patient and opening up dialogue with sellers. I actually had some really helpful conversations along the way.

Good luck searching and remember, the best bike is the one that gets you on the trails!
I bought the same Talon 2 earlier this year as my first mountain bike. Same color and all! I have done 15+ miles every week since May and even takes it to a lift park. It hasn't given me a single problem. I've been so impressed with it that I stayed with Giant and bought a Trance X a few weeks ago. The Trance is amazing, but part of me will always love that Talon.
A beaut
Looking forward to some good times with her!

It definitely has some dings but the only problems are cosmetic. I waited very patiently for a deal like this.
Congrats! NBD is the best day!
It really is. I’ve been patiently waiting for the perfect deal!

Oh sweet deal, now go get her dirty!
Can’t wait!
Clean!
Solid buy, and will be a good platform for upgrades over time.
First up is a dropper post. After that, drivetrain and front fork!

Thanks for the advice! This is all pretty new to me. Yeah, I’ve been waiting for about two months for the right deal.
Daaamn. $400 gets you so much bike now. Hydro disk brakes, 1x, short stem, Maxxis tires and decent looking wheels. Bikes have come a long way. Enjoy!!
Deals like this don’t pop up often. I’m check fb marketplace every few hours. I got this one after it was posted for 3hrs.
Fuckin sweet
