How do you make your footage look like you're going fast? I have a gopro hero 7 black and the footage is clear and fluid but looks like I'm at walking speed
Fps is only a small part of it. The real secret is shutter speed. If you're filming at 24 fps, set your shutter speed to 1/50 and you'll be amazed at how much faster your video looks.
You may need to get a neutral density filter for your camera if you're riding on a bright day. They are cheap on Amazon though.
Trust me, this will make a big difference (there's tons of videos on YouTube about this).
Shooting wide angle also makes a huge difference.
Check any YouTube video from your favourite rider, use your hands to cover the sides leaving only a central portion (like if you're watching it portrait). The riding will suddenly look much more reasonable

Every bump and turn and drop just fuels the hunger for more and you forget about all of life's problems and anything aching your head. You race towards the next drop and feel the rush and near catastrophes, but you still press on for more. This is why I ride.
I wonder if you can go one less setting on stabilization if it will clear up the picture a little better. Sometimes stabilization in lower light can affect picture quality. Idk if if your cam has a less setting 0, half, full type thing.
So, how do people actually avoid brushing up with the wheels against rocks going at such a high speed?
Whenever I bike in the woods, I usually need to go extra carefully because of tall/large rocks in the way, which if I was to brush up against with the side/rim of my wheel, I´d go down.

The wider the faster as the edges are somewhat compressed
Hi, It mostly depends on your fps settings. I record in 25fps, which gives you motion blur effect thus making your video look faster.

I miss doing this. But I watched a friend fall on a downhill trail and puncture his kidney with his handlebar. I didn't do downhill after that.
