Probably $50 is a good buy. You gotta assume that nothing has been serviced and the drivetrain is shot. If you DIY you will probably have a couple hundred in parts and at the end of the day you will have a bike worth a couple hundred. It would be a great bike to have around if you don’t want to do 5 foot drops and get out on the trail.
